Black Students ‘Humiliated’ After Police Called Over Accusations Of Leaving IHOP Without Paying

A group of 10 Black students has sadly discovered that they are not safe from police while in college. An internal investigation was launched after the students were stopped by cops and wrongfully accused of having an unpaid bill at an IHOP in Clayton, Missouri, police said Monday, July 16. The freshmen, who were unidentified, attended a summer start program at Washington University, which sits at the boundary of St. Louis and Clayton. They walked to IHOP for a late night meal and paid their bill on July 8. However, they were tracked down by officers in multiple squad cars after a restaurant manager issued a complaint about young Black males dining and dashing without settling a $62 bill, The Associated Press  reported. There were six squad cars that followed the students, the university said. Only four cars were named in the incident, according to St. Louis police. Police made the 10 students walk three blocks back to the restaurant, with six squad cars following them. https://t.co/97xP90YorV — St. Louis Post-Dispatch (@stltoday) July 16, 2018 The incident comes at a time when the nation is on high alert about racial profiling incidents that involve cops being called on people of color. The students were cooperative with police and showed their IHOP receipts to officers. They even agreed to walk back to the restaurant and talk with the manager who issued the complaint. After all was said and done, the manager defended the students as innocent and said other customers had left the unpaid bill. However, the damage had been done. “The fact that these 10 students, all of whom are African American, were scared and humiliated is unacceptable to us,” Washington University Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs Jill Friedman said in a statement Monday. “It is extremely disappointing that they have been so seriously let down, even before the official start of their first semester.” Incidents such as this one further show that there are not many safe spaces for students of color at or near colleges and universities. Obama travelled to Africa on Sunday where he first stopped in Kenya, the birthplace of his father. It is his first visit to Africa since leaving office in 2017. Britney Spears is back motherfuckers… I’ve been saying for the last little while, thank god her parents locked her down in the prison that is her career, and forced her to date a personal trainer, like some medicated dancing monkey who earns for them….because she hasn’t been allowed to go off the rails, get fat, or not earn for the family. She’s a fucking empire…a massive fucking entity that pays for everyone around her…and who cares..she hasn’t self destructed and looks amazing. All the other women her age who were performing back when she was are monsters now…. While this one…still a star…still bringing it…and is having a good old fashioned nip slip because she knows us old timers appreciate that shit…now turn on some hit me baby one more time….and get to work…this is a Britney Spears nipple and it’s the most important thing that happened this weekend. Farrah Abraham to Fans: Buy My App & I Might Hang Out With You Losers!

Sure, Farrah Abraham is still fired from Teen Mom OG , but that doesn't mean she's about to go gently into the good night of former reality star obscurity. In fact, she's been on her grind more than ever lately, making tabloid headlines like it's her job … which we suppose it sort of is. In the past few weeks,  Farrah has been arrested for assault ; she's launched feuds with fellow washed-up reality stars, and of course, she's been posting scantily-clad photos to her social media pages. The girl has a product to sell, and it's herself. She's banking on people like you wanting to know all about her hopes, dreams, and upcoming porn projects. And now, it seems she's under the impression that you'll be willing to pay for that privilege: 1. The Farrah Files Yes, folks, it’s finally here — the app that puts all others to shame! Take a hike, Google Maps! Beat it, Uber! The official farrah Abraham app is now available for download! 2. Creativity — Not Her Strong Suit Yes, quite lamely, the app is named simply “Farrah Abraham.” This might create confusion among fans who wish to purchase Farrah’s, um … other services. 3. Knowing Her Audience But what Farrah lacks in innovation, she makes up for with shameless self-promotion. Here she is pitching her app to fans as only she can. 4. Come Again? For the most part, she’s clearly just reading from cue cards here, but there’s a weird bit at the end about how much she likes “the outdoors and summer.” Anyway, it might be the least nonsensical she’s ever been. 5. A Heaping Helping of Word Salad And of course, no Farrah post would be complete without a massive block of emoji-laden text as a caption. “I’m freakin out my first app launched today at the @apple store,” Farrah wrote, adding that she’s hoping to take a break Instagram and Twitter for the foreseeable future. 6. Farrah For Sale! “So happy I have my own app now & can have a break from social media! Enter to win a LA trip to join me for my App launch pool party!” Abraham wrote. Yes, Farrah wants to invite one lucky fan to bang … sorry, we mean HANG with her in Los Angeles. View Slideshow

Jana Duggar: Secretly Dating "Best Friend" Laura DeMasie?

The news that John David Duggar is courting Abbie Burnett has revived interest in Counting On fans’ very favorite question: Namely, why is it that Jana Duggar is still single ? Jana is only 28, but in the Duggars’ world, that’s dangerously close to old maid territory. Jana and her sisters were taught from a young age that procreation is second only to praisin’ the lawd on the list of a woman’s reasons for being. While her siblings took that lesson to heart, with most of them marrying young and getting pregnant on their honeymoons, Jana has chosen a different path. From what we’ve seen, that path mostly involves helping to care for her younger siblings, and lots and lots of gardening. But if a new fan theory is to be believed, Jana’s existence isn’t quite as lonely as we’ve been led to believe. If you’re a longtime Duggar aficionado, then you might recognize Jana’s longtime friend Laura Demasie. Jana and Laura have been so close for so long that Demasie has even helped Jana with the homeschooling of her younger siblings . So perhaps it should come as no surprise that many Duggar fans now suspect that Jana and Laura are more than just friends. The subject is a common topic of discussion on Duggar-focused message boards on Reddit. Many point to Jim Bob Duggar’s cryptic 2017 comment that Jana “preferred the company of women” as evidence. It certainly sounds suggestive, but we’re pretty sure Jim Bob didn’t mean to imply that Jana might be gay. We say that not because she’s definitely not gay, but because we highly doubt Jim Bob would ever publicly acknowledge that fact if she were. It’s no secret that several Duggar children have rebelled against Jim Bob’s authoritarian rule in recent years. But women wearing pants instead of floor-length skirts is one thing — coming out as homosexual would be quite another. Hard it is to believe in 2018, there are still families that consider being gay to be a disownable offense. And the Duggars are one of them. Sadly, if Jana and Laura were actually in a relationship, they would likely be forced to keep it a secret for the rest of their days. Even if the rumors about Jana were true and she wanted to come out she would likely realize that doing so would lead Jim Bob to force all of his other children to cut ties with her. And for someone as family-oriented as Jana, that would be tantamount to a death sentence. As if any of us needed another reason to dislike Jim Bob. Annabelle Neilson Dies; Ladies of London Star Was 49

Annabelle Neilson, a former star on Bravo’s reality show Ladies of London and a famous British aristocrat, was found dead last week, sources have confirmed. She was 49 years old. As of this writing, no cause of death has been announced or determined. The London Metropolitan Police told Us Weekly that officers were called to Neilson’s address on last Thursday, July 12, after a woman had been “found deceased at the location.” Per the authorities, Neilson’s death is not being treated as suspicious. No foul play is believed to have taken place. Neilson appeared on seasons 1 and 2 of the aforementioned Bravo hit prior to announcing her departure from the series in 2015. She starred alongside full-time cast members Caroline Stanbury, Marissa Hermer, Juliet Angus, Caprice Bourret and Noelle Reno for the first season of the show, which premiered in 2014. “Good buy to Ladies of London these are the ladies I love and are my real friends!!” Neilson wrote alongside an Instagram photo of herself and Kate Moss in November 2015. She added at the time: “im blessed and greatfull to say fair well!! I wouldn’t say it’s been a ride, possibly a disappointment but we all make mistakes … See you on the other side ❤❤❤❤❤out.” In addition to being a reality star, Neilson worked as a model before her passing. She was close friends with Moss and Naomi Campbell, as well as the late fashion designer Alexander McQueen… whose suicide in 2010 completely devastated her. Neilson was actually the last person to see him alive. “He was my brother, my boyfriend, my soulmate. Most of the time people called me Mrs McQueen. Quite often we were sharing a bed,” Neilson told the Daily Mail in 2015, adding back then: “The truth is I was happier with Lee than with anyone else. He asked me to marry him towards the end and I said no. I wish now that I had said yes.” Elsewhere, Neilson released a series of children’s books. She told MyBaba in 2015 that her inspiration behind the series was largely based on her experience with dyslexia. “Angry Me is a character based on me in part as a child with severe dyslexia – but I think Angry Me evokes the frustrations and feelings for children when they can’t release such a powerful emotion as anger and it can be so many different things that a child can struggle with,” Neilson told the outlet at the time. She continued: “Other characters have been based around friends, some family, some godchildren. “You do look for inspiration amongst the people close to you.” View Slideshow: 28 Reality Stars Who Died Way Too Young Neilson was also honest in the past about becoming addicted to heroin after being beaten severely at the age of 16. “The attack lasted for two hours. I was tied to a tree and continually beaten. I looked like the elephant girl by the end of it,” she told the Daily Mail in 2015, candidly admitting to the newspaper: “I managed to escape with my life but I needed reconstructive surgery because my face was so disfigured. “After that, I fell into a serious depression and became a heroin addict because it provided an escape bubble and was the only way I could cope.” In 1994 Annabelle married wealthy banker Nat Rothschild in Las Vegas, before divorcing in 1997. She does not leave behind any children. May Annabelle Neilson rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam

Ballers: Jabari Parker Is Headed Back To Chicago After Inking Two-Year, $40 Million Deal

Stacy Revere/Getty Images Jabari Parker Signs A 2-Year Deal With Chicago Bulls Jabari Parker is going back to his hometown. On Saturday morning, the Chicago native secured a two-year, $40 million contract with the Bulls. The agreement was announced shortly after the Milwaukee Bucks rescinded their qualifying offer to the NBA forward, which made him an unrestricted free agent. ESPN  reports that the Bucks didn’t expect to match any offer sheet Parker would’ve signed with Chicago, so rescinding their offer sheet was a “good-faith gesture” that allowed the athlete to negotiate a short-term deal with the Bulls. Free agent forward Jabari Parker has agreed to a two-year, $40M deal with the Chicago Bulls, league sources tell ESPN. Milwaukee rescinded Parker's qualifying offer moments ago, making him unrestricted. — Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 14, 2018 “Jabari and I felt it was in the best interest of both he and the team to rescind our qualifying offer,” Bucks general manager Jon Horst said in a statement . “We appreciate everything Jabari has brought to our team and our community over the last four years and we wish him well.” According to reports from  ESPN , the second of the Parker-Bulls deal is a team option, which is somewhat predictable considering Parker’s injury history. The 23-year-old athlete has suffered multiple ACL tears within the last four years. His most recent injury occurred in February 2017, which caused him to miss all but 31 games of last season. Shortly after he hit unrestricted free agency–before the announcement of his move to the Bulls–Parker thanked the Bucks for showing him so much support throughout his four-year professional career. “I am extremely grateful to the Bucks and the incredible fans of Milwaukee for showing me so much love and encouragement,” Parker said. “Specifically, I’d like to thank Jon, Marc, Wes, and Jamie for giving me my start in the NBA and supporting me throughout my career. Thank you to my teammates for being like brothers to me. Also, the medical and performance staff led by Troy Flanagan and Suki Hobson deserve my unending thanks for their dedication in helping me get stronger and healthier every day.”
