It’s been clear for multiple months now that June Shannon is in need of help. The long-time reality star is seemingly unwilling to ditch horrible boyfriend Geno Doak and, even more disturbingly, was arrested in March for crack cocaine possession . But we had no idea just how serious Shannon’s issues truly were until we watched Friday night’s season finale of From Not to Hot. As previously teased, the emotional finale centered around an intervention staged for June by her concerned family members. Upon entering her sister Doe Doe’s house, Shannon found daughters Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson and Jessica – along with niece Amber – waiting to speak with her about all that’s been going on in her life. June was extremely wary as soon as she walked into the room. “If this intervention doesn’t work, she’s mentally going to have an actual breakdown,” said Pumpkin. The 19-year old then put on a brave face and opened way up to her mother. “Physically, it’s like you don’t care about your health,” she said. “I’m concerned about you. We care about you. Alana cares about you, Jessica cares about you, Doe Doe cares about you and it’s like everybody’s trying to get you back healthy and you have tunnel vision and the only person you see is Geno.” Pumpkin even brought up the credible cheating allegations against Geno , but Mama June was in total denial. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she simply replied. The floor was then turned over to Honey Boo Boo. At just 13 years old, she stood there and explained to her mother that her decision to live with Pumpkin was “not by choice.” Tearfully, Honey Boo Boo added: “I swear to God mama it’s not by choice.” June Shannon Begged by Daughter to Seek Help: Do You Want to DIE?!? Continued the former child beauty pageant competitor, whose “career” in that field is what caused her family to land a reality show in the first place, way back in the day: “I would love to come home and stay with you, tell you about my day, but I can’t do that because I’m scared. I’m scared to stay at your house.” You would think that such an emotional plea from her young daughter would have an impact on June — but it merely caused her to exit the scene. She left the house and went off on therapist Dr. Ish, executive producer Adam Freeman and executive producer Moriah, admitting that she wasn’t the same person she used to be. “Just ask Geno how many times I sit there and cry to him and be like, ‘I hate my f-cking self. I want to f-cking kill the person that I am now,'” she cried. “Because I don’t know who I am. I don’t know if I want to ‘kill myself’ kill myself or I want to kill the person that has took over my body.” Heartbreaking stuff, right? Eventually, the group did actually convince Shannon to enter an in-patient treatment facility. That night, they drove her to the center, which was hours away in North Carolina, and watched with hope as June checked into the facility. But then this hope was quickly dashed. “After only 12 hours, June checks herself out,” the show revealed on the episode. “Geno picks her up. Their whereabouts are unknown.” Two days later, in Alabama, Shannon and Doak were arrested on the aforementioned drug possession charges. At the same time, Doak was arrested alongside Shannon on a charge of domestic violence. “As soon as Geno got Mama from the treatment center, I knew it was over from there. Mama just got charged with a possession of crack cocaine, which is a felony,” Pumpkin said on the finale “Since Mama June got arrested in Alabama, she has to stay there until she goes to court,” added Doe Doe. The series then revealed that Shannon appeared in court and “faces felony charges for drug possession” while “Geno faces felony charges for drug possession and additional domestic assault charges. I need to get it together. I need to get my sh-t together. If this isn’t her wake-up call. According to Fox16 , a neighborhood in Little Rock, Arkansas is outraged over a resident’s Facebook post that depicts a brown mannequin being hanged from a noose next to a confederate flag. “This day of time, there’s no place for it,” says Ricky Allen. “I saw a video of a noose, of a person of color, hanging from it. It’s kind of disturbing.” To make matters worse, the owner of the home has fixed her face to explain that the imagery “is not about race”… “Well, hell, I’ll take it down. This is a Halloween decoration – a Creeper. You know the movie Jeepers Creepers,” says the woman. Dr. Gregory Lovallo sued the “All About The Benjamins” rapper earlier this month for breach of contract, saying he provided urology-related health care to Lil Kim – whose real name is Kimberly Jones – but the rapper never paid her $15,000 bill for it. And the urologist alleges that Kim’s treatment may have been related to an insurance scam that she later profited off of. The doctor does not go into detail about what made him suspect that Kim was allegedly part of an insurance scheme, but does say that she was “unjustly enriched” as a result, court papers state. “Based upon information and belief, defendant improperly converted insurance proceeds to his/her own personal use,” Dr. Lovallo’s complaint, which was obtained by BOSSIP, states. “Based upon information and belief, defendant was unjustly enriched.” Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty The doctor wants the $15,000, plus interest and his lawyer’s fees paid. And if that sounds epic, it absolutely is, especially when you see a fearless woman of color from Brooklyn commanding our last military hope (ON EARTH) in the midst of colossal chaos. So we absolutely had to interview her (and did briefly) just days before the release of the biggest (and boldest) nostalgia-splashed Action Thriller of the summer. Tell us about “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.” How did you get involved with the film? “I was reading the script and realized that this was something that actually resonated–that it’s not just another blockbuster movie that here was a story that was being told with so much heart because Michael Doherty–the guy who’s directing it–Godzilla is such a huge part of the fabric of his life that it’s such a passion project for him that I could feel his soul in wanting to tell this story and give Godzilla fans an experience with it that made him feel the way he felt as a child… And so when they offered this role of “Diane Foster” to me she represented something that doesn’t exist in the world and I felt like that was a beautiful follow-up to Harriet Tubman because here she was in pursuit of something that she had never experienced in life which was freedom and so here with now “Diane Foster” representing something that doesn’t exist in the world which was a woman who is serving as a green beret special forces officer leading an elite squad of team members–as part of Monarch which is a huge part of the history of Godzilla …and women are just now actually passing this special forces assessment and selection phase of military training to be able to go on to the special forces qualification course (which could go up to 24 months) to become green berets and serve as special forces officers so I realized that this was a unique opportunity for me to represent something that doesn’t exist but create the possibility for it to be tangible and visible for it not just to be a woman but a woman of color and so I was really excited about that” We notice that you pick a lot of diverse roles–you were in a “Star Trek” movie–minding your business and doin’ your thing–and we love that about you. You were Harriet Tubman but you’ve also done a lot of things that Black women have NOT done before–ever–has it ever hit you that you’ve accomplished these things in your career? “The thing is, I always look back retrospectively and I know the things I’m drawn to–I know the things that resonate–and when those things resonate and hit that part of your spirit those are things that draw me in and I’m grateful which is why I try to stay in tune with my spirit because, I’m like, I will follow you wherever you lead and if this is where you’ve lead me thus far then I know that there’s more to go… So while I’m in this season of cup runneth over and I’m getting the opportunities to do these things and have all these diverse roles I know there will come a point in my life, in my career, where I’m going to turn that cup over and start pouring into the cup of those behind me in the generation to come and I look forward to that” You mentioned “Underground” and Harriet Tubman and how important that is in your career. Is there still an opening, in your mind, for that to come back? Would you be open to pursuing that again? “Underground” holds a huge part of my heart not just because of the opportunity to play this iconic figure but also the family that was forged from that experience–if that should ever come back around I’d gladly rejoin my family in continuing that narrative because there’s exhaustive content as it pertains to that narrative and that story but also I think we have put into the world 20 episodes of television that will live on forever–20 episodes that I am tremendously tremendously proud of” “Godzilla: King Of The Monsters” in theaters now!
