Demi Lovato: 19 (VERY!) Candid Confessions from Her Documentary

Demi Lovato has always been an open book. The singer has never shied away over the years from discussing her battles with substance abuse and an eating disorder. In the YouTube documentary “Simply Complicated,” Lovato is an open… series of books? We're not sure how to phrase it, we just know the artist discusses absolutely everything, from her career to her drug use to her most famous relationship. Scroll down and then all around for a look at all we learned about Lovato in this revealing film: 1. When Did She First Do Cocaine? “I was 17 working on Disney Channel, and I was with a couple of friends and they introduced me to it. I was scared because my mom always told me that your heart could just burst if you do it. But I did it anyways and I loved it. I felt out of control with the coke the first time that I did it.” 2. Yes, She Once Punched a Backup Dancer in the Face After learning someone named Shorty outed her for using Adderall during a Camp Rock 2 tour, “I remember thinking, ‘I’m about to beat this bitch up.’ She had already boarded the plane, I just went up to her and it was like a blur.” 3. This Was a “Breaking Point” Lovato said she slept the whole day afterward, texted her mom an apology and realized she needed major help. 4. She Entered Rehab, Got Diagnosed as Bipolar… … and then fell off the wagon: “I wasn’t working my program, I wasn’t ready to get sober. I was sneaking it on planes, in bathrooms, nobody knew. I went on a bender of two months when I was using daily and there was one night where I used a bunch of coke, I popped a few Xanax bars and I started to choke a little bit and my heart started racing. I remember thinking, oh my god, I might be overdosing right now.” 5. This Was the Last Time She Drank: “I invited 2 random people and basically just drank with them. I got really really drunk until it was time to get on a flight and I was so drunk that I threw up in the back of the car service on the way to the airport to perform on American Idol. I felt like that was a moment in my career where I didn’t care. I just knew that I needed to be high to get through what I was going through at that point.” 6. It Was On to a Sober Living Facility She retired here every night after judging The X Factor. Said her manager in the documentary of this experience: “She’s having to do chores. She has no cell phone. She’s completely and totally submitted to the process of recovery.” View Slideshow

Farrah Abraham: From 16 and Pregnant to Live Stream Cam Girl!

How bizarre is it that Farrah Abraham has been in the public eye for over eight whole years now?! When we first got a glimpse of her in her episode of 16 and Pregnant, she was just a small town high school cheerleader, dealing with the death of her boyfriend and a bad home life. And now … well, you know what she's like now. So what happened? Let's take a look at her career history and try to solve this mystery together! 1. Way Back When … This is Farrah in high school … it’s so weird to see her like this, right? And by “like this,” we mean with her natural face. Around this time, she was working part-time jobs in grocery stores and restaurants. 2. Her First Passion With her grocery store jobs and gigs at local pizza places, Panera Bread, Applebee’s, and Buffalo Wild Wings, it was obvious that Farrah’s passion was food. It also helped that throughout the early seasons of Teen Mom, she made it clear that her dream was to one day own her own restaurant. 3. Higher Education Despite being a single teen mother, Farrah graduated high school and even went on to continue her education — she worked towards an associate’s degree in culinary arts and management at her local community college. 4. Florida Bound! In 2011, Farrah moved to Florida to attend the Art Institute of Fort Lauterdale. She was looking to get her bachelor’s degree in culinary management, and she left Sophia behind in Iowa for a while so she could work towards this goal. 5. Mom and Me Foods After moving to Florida, Farrah took a little over a year off from working regular jobs to focus on her schooling (and presumably her blossoming reality TV career), but in 2012 she launched Mom and Me Foods, a company that sells gourmet foods and fine wines, inspired by her Italian ancestors. So that’s something! 6. My Teenage Dream Ended Also in 2012, Farrah released her first book, a little memoir she charmingly titled My Teenage Dream Ended. The book was largely about her troubled relationship with the late Derek Underwood, her high school boyfriend and Sophia’s father. View Slideshow

Ben Affleck: Multiple Sexual Harassment Videos Resurface Amidst Growing Scandal

It’s hard to think of a celebrity who’s been who’s been at once so unfathomably successful and so transparently troubled as Ben Affleck. With two Oscars, several successful turns behind the camera as director, and a lucrative multi-feature gig as one of the most iconic characters in cinema, Affleck has the kind of career most leading men can only dream of. And yet, it’s impossible to talk about the 45-year-old without mentioning the persistent dark side that seems to have plagued him at least since young adulthood. We’ve seen Affleck struggle with alcoholism  and endure a difficult divorce that considerable damage to his public image. He’s been accused of cheating on his wife, gambling compulsively, and indulging in fits of rage indiscriminately. And now, Affleck may be on the verge of most sordid scandal of his career thanks to a pair of newly resurfaced videos that show the actor engaged in some truly unsettling behavior. On Tuesday night, fans were stunned by allegations that Affleck groped actress Hilarie Burton during an appearance on MTV’s TRL. Now, video of the incident has emerged, and it’s every bit as unnerving as it sounds: Ben Affleck Gropes Hilarie Burton on TRL Yes, at 30 years old, Ben–who was already an established star in Hollywood–took it upon himself to “tweak” the breast of a 20-year-old up-and-coming media personality in front of a crowd and a camera crew. Burton laughed off the encounter in the clip above, but she tweeted last night that she “laughed to keep from crying.” Sadly, that’s not the only example of Ben engaging in egregious misconduct with a young female journalist. The clip below, shot in 2004, shows Ben pulling a Canadian TV host into his lap and embracing her while encouraging her to do the remainder of the show topless and asking to see more cleavage. Needless to say, the footage is upsetting, to say the least: Ben Affleck Harasses Young Reporter At the 4:00 mark, Ben also mocks people suffering from cerebral palsy.  The footage was shot over a decade ago, but it’s worth noting that Affleck was 33 years old at the time. Earlier today, Ben issued an apology for the Burton incident, tweeting: “I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize.” He has yet to respond to the uproar over the second clip. We’ll have further updates on this developing story as more information becomes available. View Slideshow: Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner Photos: A Romantic Rewind

Blitz 2017 Host Nick Cannon’s New Motto Is To Stay ‘Unapologetic About Being Black And Being Strong’

More:

Your browser does not support iframes. As host of Blitz 2017, Nick Cannon pretty much has free reign to address the things that are most important to him. Right now, that would be both his mental and spiritual growth as well as that of his community. Reacting to   hearing Treach say he “channeled 2Pac” for his fiery speeches about social justice, Nick says, “I got to, man. We out here for the people, for the culture. Especially at this point, too. I reached a level in my career and a level of my bank account, I don’t really care what a lot of other people got to say. Especially when it comes to my community. I gotta show people how to go get it, man, and be unapologetic about being Black and being strong. We out here.” He also talks about his poetic protest video,   “Stand For What” : “I’m on the front line all the time. I’ve been at every protest. I’ve been a part of every movement with Black Lives Matter – from St. Louis, Charlottesville, all that. And I’ve been capturing everything. And I just got fed up. Because people are getting distracted. They’re letting the sensationalism and Trump and all this stuff take all of our minds and focus off the idea that they’re treating Black men like property. That they’re putting them in cages. That they’re killing them without no repercussions. There’s literal murders are going on, and people are walking from it. And nobody’s saying nothing. That was the true reason why Colin was kneeling.” Damn. Pretty deep. Peep the rest of his comments, above.

I’m at the peak of making it in my career, so I feel very blessed and thankful. I know what, I know I’ma kill it, though. I’m not even nervous like that. I know God got me. I’m prepared, I’m ready for this for real.” Get it, sis!   “

Gal Gadot Does Kendall Jenner

Gal Gadot is one hot Israeli piece of a$$. I know I should feature her more often, but her career has gone too well and when a hot chicks career goes too well, they don’t spend much time on social media like they should. Let’s hope it tanks soon so she can change her ways. Anyway, here she is on SNL impersonating Kendall Jenner. I didn’t watch it, but I think these GIFs are probably the best parts.

Harvey Weinstein Quotes Jay Z, Threatens NRA in Bizarre, Rambling "Apology"

Well… this is one way to deal with sexual harassment allegations. On Thursday afternoon, The New York Times published a bombshell article in which it quoted multiple women who claimed Harvey Weinstein took advantage of them in various inappropriate ways. According to this report, the veteran film producer has settled eight separate sexual misconduct claims over the years. Ashley Judd is among the women who have issued complaints against Weinstein. She’s now on record as saying Weinstein answered his hotel room door in 1997, while Judd was shooting the movie Kiss the Girls, and asked if he could either massage her or if she would watch him take a shower. We know, right? EWWWWW . In response to this multitude of claims against him, Weinstein basically acknowledged his many decades’ worth of lewd behavior. “I appreciate the way I’ve behaved with colleagues in the past has caused a lot of pain, and I sincerely apologize for it,” he said, adding at the time: “Though I’m trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go.” Fair enough, we guess. What else could he really say in the face of these allegations? We now have the answer. In a follow-up statement, clearly written without the help of a publicist, Weinstein opened by blaming the era in which he started his career for how he acted toward the opposite sex. “I came of age in the 60’s and 70’s, when all the rules about behavior and workplaces were different. That was the culture then,” the producer said. “I have since learned it’s not an excuse, in the office – or out of it. To anyone.” Okay, fine.  If Weinstein had stopped there, we wouldn’t even be writing this right now. But he didn’t stop there. “Though I’m trying to do better, I know I have a long way to go. That is my commitment,” he added. “My journey now will be to learn about myself and conquer my demons. Over the last year I’ve asked Lisa Bloom to tutor me and she’s put together a team of people. “I’ve brought on therapists and I plan to take a leave of absence from my company and to deal with this issue head on. I so respect all women and regret what happened.” For the record, Lisa Bloom is a lawyer who specializes in representing celebrities seeking some kind of payday. She sat alongside Blac Chyna this summer, for example, during her revenge porn case against Rob Kardashian . It’s unclear how she has been acting as a “tutor” to Weinstein. Weinstein then wrote this: Jay Z wrote in 4:44 “I’m not the man I thought I was and I better be that man for my children.” The same is true for me. I want a second chance in the community but I know I’ve got work to do to earn it. For the record: Jay Z did not rap these words. What he did rap was this: “And if my children knew/I don’t even know what I would do/If they ain’t look at me the same/I would prob’ly die with all the shame.” From there, Weinstein – inspired, we suppose, by this week’s Las Vegas shooting – turned his attention to… the National Rifle Assocation? Yup. “I’ve decided that I’m going to give the NRA my full attention. I hope Wayne LaPierre will enjoy his retirement party. “I’m going to do it at the same place I had my Bar Mitzvah. I’m making a movie about our President, perhaps we can make it a joint retirement party.” Finally, after touting his progressive bona fides in this manner, Weinstein wrapped it up. “One year ago, I began organizing a $5 million foundation to give scholarships to women directors at USC,” he wrote, concluding: “While this might seem coincidental, it has been in the works for a year. It will be named after my mom and I won’t disappoint her.” We’ve got a feeling it’s way too late for that. Mrs. Weinstein is likely quite disappointed in her son already.

Desus And Mero Are The Best Medicine For All Of Life’s Ailments

Original post:

Source: Taylor Hill / Getty Desus Nice and The Kid Mero came from the mud; but their crazy come-up story doesn’t even scratch the surface of why they are not only so likable, but prevalent in today’s world inundated with commentary. With social media, everybody with a phone can–and usually does–put in their 2 cents on everything that comes across their screen. It becomes hard to weed out what consumers themselves actually want to see, and whose takes are important enough to seek out on the regular. Though Desus and Mero got their start as those same social media warriors, they’ve risen to boast resumes that include their TV show (already renewed for a second season)  Desus & Mero , their weekly Redbull-sponsored podcast The Bodega Boys , a sold-out line of merchandise, and a plethora of live appearances throughout the US and Canada both at huge comedy festivals and on their own headlining bills. Because these Bronx, NY natives’ claim to their most mainstream fame is a late night television show, a logical comparison would be to the other players in that genre like Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel . The truth remains, however, that with a network like Viceland and personalities like Desus and Mero, the only place their show compares to the others is on paper. Featuring both smaller guests and people like Diddy , and almost completely off-the-dome narrations, the only gripe most viewers have with the show is that it should be longer than half an hour. The most refreshing part of watching these two is the stark contrast from the political correctness of a show on a major network. Hosts like Jimmy Fallon and James Corden saw endless backlash over humanizing Donald Trump and his former press secretary Sean Spicer , and that’s something fans of Desus and Mero never have to worry about. Though they’ve mentioned many times before (possibly in jest) that they can’t wait to be sell-outs later on in their career–we all have our price!–the compromising of their own ideals would make the entire shtick they’ve mastered obsolete. Fans who have had the pleasure of seeing this rise to stardom from their Twitter roots, to their year-long stint on Complex while they  juggled their day jobs, have no choice but to be die-hards. No matter how big Desus and Mero get in their career, they’ll always maintain an intimate fan relationship that feels like those same underground podcasters you heroically put all of your friends onto. In a world that’s growing more cynical as each day passes, it’s important to find and champion those who help you get through those days–and Desus and Mero continue to be the best medicine for all of life’s ailments.

Scooter Braun on Justin Bieber: He Was Effed Up, People!

Think Justin Bieber hit rock bottom back in 2014? Think the singer was a complete mess after he was arrested for drunk driving and after he constantly berated the paparazzi and didn’t even seem to care one bit about his fans? You actually have no idea, Scooter Braun now says. Braun, who has served as Bieber’s manager throughout the course of his career and who has been tight with the artist for years, opened up this week to The Wall Street Journal Magazine. The topic? Bieber. Specifically, the depths to which Bieber plummeted during his fairly recent struggles. “It was worse than people realized,” Braun told the publication. “I failed him day after day. We were living in hell because he was in such a dark place.” In January of 2014, Bieber was arrested for drunk driving . The incident seemed to be the culmination of a downward spiral in which Bieber partied too much and drove too fast. However, Braun says here that things continued to get worse for the superstar over the next several months. “I have inconveniences, and other people have problems. Mine feel important, but they’re not. They’re not life or death,” Braun told The Wall Street Journal crypically, prior to adding: “Justin’s stuff got to a point where it was a problem.” Based on that phrasing,it sounds like it was a life or death problem. Yikes . “Some of the biggest people in the industry, people invested in Justin’s career, told me, ‘It’s over. Focus on something else. That kid is done,'” Braun explained. But the manager has been with Bieber since Justin was a young teenager. He wasn’t about to abandon his friend when he was needed the most. “I made a promise to him when he was 13 that I would never give up on him. I plan on keeping that promise.” Added Braun: “He’s family. I think the relationship is more like a big brother, especially because he’s become a man. “I think he’s seen the worst of himself, and to watch him rise out of it was amazing.” Has Bieber risen out of it? We guess so. He hasn’t been arrested in years and his fans still love him. But he’s taken a strange break from making music and folks still have no idea why he let down so many people when he canceled his tour this year . Bieber may not be in the kind of bad shape he was back then, but he also may have hit his career apex years ago and will never fully recover.
