Cop Charged In Jordan Edwards Killing Officer Roy Oliver, the cowardly cop who opened fire on a car full of teenagers on “suspicion of underage drinking,” ultimately killing 15-year-old Jordan Edwards , has been charged with murder. A warrant was issued for Oliver’s arrest on Friday, noting that he “intended to cause serious bodily injury and commit an act clearly dangerous to human life that caused the death.” Oliver, who had a sordid past in his career as a cop and was subsequently fired by his department after news of the killing went national, surrendered to police and was formally arrested later in the day. If you’ll recall, Oliver originally showed up to the party Edwards and his friends were attending based on some reports of underage drinking going on at the home. For no real reason, he opened fire on the car full of children as they were leaving the scene, striking and killing Edwards in the passenger seat. The fact that he was actually charged with a crime is all well and good…but we really need to see a conviction this time around. Dallas County Police

Earlier this week, Happy Days and Joanie Loves Chachi actress Erin Moran passed away at the age of 56. Little was known about Moran’s cause of death in the days after the news of her passing went public, but that didn’t prevent one of her former co-stars from speculating. Scott Baio, who played the other title character in Joanie Loves Chachi, stated that he was “not surprised” by Moran’s death . Even worse, he incorrectly attributed her premature demise to her history of drug and alcohol abuse. “I feel bad because her whole life, she was troubled, could never find what made her happy and content,” Baio said in an interview on Monday. “For me, you do drugs or drink, you’re gonna die.” After it was revealed that Moran likely died of cancer and not of an overdose, the criticism of Baio grew louder, with many demanding the actor apologize. Instead, Baio defended his comments in a bizarrely Trump-ian Twitter tirade. The 56-year-old tweeted: “This is so wrong.” “Now I know what fake news is! I said ‘IF’ (You abuse drugs/alcohol). My wife @MrsScottBaio spoke to Erin less than 1 month ago.” Now it seems that Baio has finally come to an important realization (better late than never) in the aftermath of this controversy: He should be trying to make amends to Moran’s family, not flailing about in an effort to salvage what’s left of his career. Moments ago, Baio posted a lengthy open letter penned by Moran’s husband, Steve Fleischmann, which confirms what law enforcement officials revealed yesterday: Moran was battling stage four cancer at the time of her death. Fleischmann revealed that the cancer acted fast, having only been discovered in November: “Erin woke up and had about a dime size blood stain on her pillowcase,” he wrote. “She said I think i bit my tongue. A couple days go by and there’s a bigger spot of blood.” “We get like 4 days into December, there’s more blood. I get a flashlight and say let me look. It was not her tongue it was her tonsil on the left side.” “I thought it was tonsillitis.” He added: “So we went to an ENT who said they wanted to biopsy it. It came back squamous cell carcinoma. She started radiation and chemo.” “Five days a week radiation and chemo only on Thursdays,” he recalls. “We did that the whole time. It got so bad so fast.” Fleischmann went on to offer a heartbreaking account of his wife’s final moments: “I laid down next to her held her right hand in my left.” “I feel asleep woke up about a hour later still holding her hand and she was gone, she was just gone. Norton Cancer Institute never said how bad it was.” “The coroner told me it was really really bad. It had spread to her spleen, she had a lot of fluid in her lungs and part of her brain was infected.” He added that by the time the cancer was discovered, it was already too late to have a realistic chance of saving Erin. “The coroner said even if she was in the hospital being pumped full of antibiotics she still would not of made it,” he recalls. “He said it was the best that she was with me and went in her sleep,” Fleischmann concluded with a plea for sensitivity from fans and the media: “PLEASE feel free to send the above to Any and ALL news outlets The press has been relentless,” he wrote. “They knock on the door constantly.” Our thoughts go out to Fleischmann and the rest of Moran’s family at this difficult time. Dancehall Artist Talks New Music, How He Got Started In The Biz & His Breakout Hit “Ghetto Story” With Alicia Keys Baby Cham is back with a new single and a new album, but he’s still playing it close to his dancehall roots. The reggae artist sat down with Bossip recently to talk about his new album, “Lawless,” the moment he decided to become a dancehall artist and what he thinks the Caribbean music scene is lacking today. BOSSIP: How and when did you decide that you wanted to become a dancehall artist? Baby Cham: “My uncle had a sound system: speaker boxes on the street corners with a turntable. Super Cat used to perform on the sound system, John Wayne, Little John, just to name a few. I would go there every summer, and seeing artists like Super Cat pass through, in the yard on the microphone, I was like ‘What?! I love this!’ And that’s how I got the love for this. I was just a little kid looking at them. I started doing my own imitations, then I started writing my own lyrics after that.” BOSSIP: What do you think about the state of today’s reggae and dancehall music scene? Baby Cham: “The state of reggae and dancehall to me is good. There’s a reason why so many other genres are tapping into it and doing what they’re doing. It’s good. You have a lot of good kids coming out and doing the work. The only setback is the level of consistency is not there. It’s not on the artist’s part, it’s the production. That’s the only thing I would say what needs to improve – the production. The artists are delivering good music, good lyrics, but sometimes it’s the production that fluctuates.” BOSSIP: What was it like working with Alicia Keys on 2006’s “Ghetto Story” – a song that many consider to be the jumping off point for your career in America? Baby Cham: “It was beautiful. To me, it was one of the best things that could ever happen at the time for myself and dancehall. If you think about it, Alicia has done duets with a handful of people. She don’t do a lot of duets. And for her to say that she wanted to do that record – and the type of record it was. ‘Ghetto Story’ was not a pop record. It went pop, but it’s not a pop record. It’s really a hard, street record describing how life is hard growing up in the Third World. She kind of reached out and said if we were doing a remix, she wanted to be a part of it. For me, that says a lot about her.” BOSSIP: Tell us about your new single “Money Wine,” off your new album, “Lawless.” Baby Cham: “It’s a fun record. We were just thinking of something fun to start off the campaign with the album. The idea of “Money Wine” came about just by looking at females, and how they have different characteristics in the party. She might can’t twerk, but she’s doing something similar…It’s not a specific dance, it’s a dance that you do and do your best. Whether it’s for your significant other, or to create that buzz in the club, to steal the show or for yourself, that’s the money wine…We wanted that dancehall, gritty type of vibe.” BOSSIP: What’s next for you? Baby Cham: “Hitting the road. The album is done. The release date is in May. As of now, I’m just on the road. I’m on the grind. Nonstop. I’m just working working working.” *This interview was edited for clarity and space.
Halle Berry may not have starred in a hit movie in many years, but the actress is quickly becoming quite a big hit on the Internet. To close the month of March, for example, Berry treated her 1.3 million Instagram followers to a gorgeous photo of herself without a bra on . “Me when someone says ‘I’m coming over and I’ve got snacks,'” Berry wrote as a caption to the photo down below, eliciting quite a few VERY positive reactions online. “Um @halleberry…I’m coming over and I’ve got snacks? #TheNewAllStateMantra,” wrote Questlove, for instance. Late last week, meanwhile, Berry made headlines for a social media snapshot of a very different kind. The former Oscar winner gave fans a rare glimpse at son Maceo Martinez, who was enjoying a positively radiant glimpse of the deep blue ocean himself. “When you find a pair of pj’s that rock your world,” the 50-years old star captioned the sweet image of the three-year-old dressed in rumpled white pajamas, peering out through a window. The peaceful picture was snapped from behind and does not show the boy’s face. Berry has always been extra careful to protect her kids from the limelight. She knows how dangerous fame can be for children. On the rare occasion that she does share photos of little Maceo or her nine-year-old daughter, Nahla Aubry, she makes sure to obscure their eyes, noses and mouth. We admire Berry for this strategy. But some idiots out there have actually criticized her for it. Last October, the actress clapped back at an Instagram troll who somehow took issue with Berry for cropping her kids’ faces out of a photo. “I’ve noticed you have said this several times now so let me be clear – I’m not at all ashamed of my children,” Berry was forced to write, adding: “I try to find creative ways to incorporate them into my feed because they are the biggest part of my life, but I also work very hard to keep their identities as private as I can considering they are only children.” Despite this being an obvious and admirable point of view, Berry continued. She concluded her reply to this online moron as follows: “It’s my belief, and I’m not criticizing others who have different beliefs, that it’s my job as their mother to protect their privacy as best I can. “When they grow and they’re of age and they want to share their images on the internet, that will be for them to decide, not me. Feel me? Have a beautiful day.” View Slideshow: Esquire’s Sexiest Women Alive: A Sizzling Summation Berry shares young Maceo with ex-husband Olivier Martinez and Nahla with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. She was also previously married to former Major League Baseball outfielder David Justice and singer Eric Benet. Indeed, Berry hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to men. But she has had the best of luck when it comes to her looks (see slideshow, above) and when it comes to producing precious children. Those are pretty important things, too.
