Game’s Manager Jimmy ‘Henchman’ Rosemond Wanted By Feds

Warrant issued for Czar Entertainment CEO’s arrest in connection to drug case. By Gil Kaufman The Game Photo: Moses Robinson/ WireImage Czar Entertainment boss Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond, who manages the careers of the Game and Sean Kingston, among others, was reportedly on the run on Tuesday (May 17) after federal authorities issued an arrest warrant for him in connection with a drug case. The New York Post reported that the warrant was issued last week after the feds indicted Rosemond for his alleged involvement in a cocaine distribution ring. At press time, the paper said Rosemond had not yet been found and that an unnamed law enforcement source confirmed that there was a fugitive warrant out for the hip-hop mogul. Just hours after the story broke, Rosemond’s lawyer, Jeffrey Lichtman, told MTV News that he had not seen the arrest warrant or indictment but that he was aware of the case. “I’ve spoke to Jimmy and this is not a surprise,” he said. “We’ve been defending this in the pre-indictment stage for years now.” What he was surprised by, though, was that he did not know about the arrest warrant until he read about it in the New York tabloid. Lichtman said that considering the narcotics investigation has been going on for an unspecified number of years, he knew it was “inevitable” that charges would be brought, but that he didn’t know when it might happen. “I don’t dispute the fact that there is an arrest warrant, but I haven’t seen it,” he said. “I suppose they’re looking for him now, and when they find him, the case will start.” Asked if Rosemond would turn himself in to face the charges, Lichtman said he did not know. Rosemond has a colorful past, and last year, the New York Daily News reported that he had been named in court records as an informant for state and federal law enforcement officials dating back to the mid-1990s. His former lawyers requested leniency in a Los Angeles gun case against Rosemond by citing his repeated cooperation with authorities. In 2008, Rosemond called for the firing of former Los Angeles Times reporter Chuck Phillips after the journalist implicated Rosemond in an article claiming that he was among the men behind the 1994 ambush of late rapper Tupac Shakur at a New York recording studio. The previous year, Rosemond’s then-14-year-old son was allegedly roughed up by G-Unit member Tony Yayo as part of an alleged ongoing beef between G-Unit and Czar, who split ways in 2005; the charges against Yayo were dropped a year later when he pleaded to a lesser crime of noncriminal harassment. Pearl Jam Say ‘Twenty’ Documentary Shows ‘Highs, Lows’

Cameron Crowe-directed retrospective set to premiere in September. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Sasha Hamrogue Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder Photo: Michel Linssen/ Redferns On October 22, 1990, Mookie Blaylock played their first official show at the Off Ramp Cafe in Seattle. Rock historians would come to imbue this event with understandable import: After all, Mookie Blaylock would go on to become Pearl Jam, one of the most important rock outfits of the past two decades. And now, with the 20th anniversary of that debut show on the horizon, the members of Pearl Jam are looking back for the first time in their careers — and they still can’t believe they’ve made it this far. Luckily, they’ve got Cameron Crowe to help them remember their journey from Seattle mid-carders to one of the biggest acts on the planet. He’s directed a documentary called, appropriately enough, “Pearl Jam Twenty,” that culls through more than 1,200 hours of rare footage — plus 24 hours of recently shot interviews — to provide a definitive look at the band’s legendary career. The film is reportedly set to premiere in September — though, on Monday, PBS announced it would broadcast it in October as part of its “American Masters” series — meaning that, at long last, guitarist Mike McCready, one of Pearl Jam’s founding members, is being forced to come to terms with his band’s own mortality. “Yeah, it all went very quickly,” he said, laughing. “There were many highs and lows throughout our career, and many arcs of creativity [and] tragedies … that run the whole gamut of human emotions, being in this. From being in a band with guys for 20 years, and having fights and making up, and being brothers in a way, looking out for each other.” And part of what appeals to McCready about Crowe’s film is that it somehow manages to tie all of those things together into one cohesive and comprehensive work — one that had even the longtime guitarist getting a bit nostalgic. “When I saw the early … edits of it, I thought it was very interesting and kind of exciting and, like I said, it runs the gamut of all those emotions,” he explained. “And it actually put in some sort of musical perspective the past 20 years, like, ‘Oh yeah, we did do that, we did do this’: the Ticketmaster thing , there was Roskilde , there were all these issues, and there were these great highs and interesting beginnings. The story it tells is: Why did it work, and why does it still? It made more sense when I saw the movie.” But “Twenty” isn’t the only thing Pearl Jam have in store for fans to commemorate the occasion: They’ve also announced plans for a Labor Day weekend concert alongside the likes of the Strokes, Queens of the Stone Age and Mudhoney, and, as McCready hinted, there might even be some new music on the way. Or maybe not. After all, all this nostalgia takes up a lot of time. “Jeff [Ament] and Ed [Vedder] were really wanting to do more music in the terms of, ‘It’s our 20th anniversary. Let’s celebrate that, but let’s also do some new music,’ and we’re all into that,” McCready said. “So, you may see some new music, you may not. I know we’re going to record some new music this year; it may not be finished by the end of the year.” Are you excited to see the Pearl Jam documentary? Tell us below! Related Artists Pearl Jam

Tyga Visits ‘RapFix Live’ On Wednesday!

Compton-born Young Money MC will join host Sway and take your questions on New West-themed edition of the show on MTV.com. By Alvin Blanco Tyga Photo: Christie Goodwin/ Getty Images Tyga will join us on this Wednesday’s special New West edition of MTV News’ “RapFix Live.” The Young Money rapper will only chat it up with host Sway, but we’ll have an in-depth look at some of the Cali rap acts that are making L.A. a go-to hip-hop destination once again. As always, we’ll also be taking your questions! Last year, the Compton, California, rapper caught an inadvertent hit when his Chris Brown collabo, “Deuces,” from their joint mixtape, Fan of a Fan, burned up the airwaves, landing at #1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Tyga and Brown went on to earn a Grammy nomination in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category for the song he co-wrote, and he’s now prepping his forthcoming album, Careless World. Before connecting with the YMCMB, Tyga was already making a name for himself on the L.A. rap circuit. In 2008, he dropped his debut single, “Coconut Juice,” which featured his cousin Travie McCoy. Soon Tyga became acquainted with Lil Wayne — the two appeared together on a remix to Fall Out Boy’s “Arms Race” — and signed on with Young Money a year or so later. Tyga cemented his place in the crew by contributing to Young Money’s hits “BedRock” and “Roger That.” Tyga is hoping to prove his patience will pay off as he’s waited in the wings for fellow YMCMB teammates Drake and Nicki Minaj to launch their careers. The first singles from Careless World, “I’m On It,” featuring Lil Wayne, and “Really Raw,” featuring Snoop Dogg and Pharrell, have heads checking for the project’s release. And earlier this year, Tyga revealed a Drake collaboration will be included on it too. We’ve already spotlighted Nipsey Hussle and Casey Veggies and our New West coverage will continue on “RapFix Live” with closer looks at the movements of Black Hippy (Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul and School Boy Q) and Odd Future. Apart from the insight into the diverse underground rap sounds coming out of L.A., we’ll also be examining its party and dance scene . Find out what else is in store from Tyga and the rest of the YMCB crew when he sits down for his interview on the “RapFix” couch. The “Deuces” rapper will be taking questions from the audience via Twitter, @MTVRapFix with the hashtag #rapfixlive. Fans can also upload video questions for Young Money’s next star via Your.MTV.com . Tune in on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. Stick with us all week as MTV News turns the spotlight on the New West, including a special edition of with Cali’s own Tyga on Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET on MTV.com. We’re bringing you the next wave of hip-hop acts helping restore faith in the L.A. rap scene. From groups like Odd Future to rising MCs like Dom Kennedy, we’ll bring you up close and personal to these artists as they carve their own lanes in the post-gangsta rap era. Break-Ups & Make-Ups: Our Favorite, Most Notorious Celebrity Couples

Take a look at our favorite celebrity couples that are, that were, that can’t seem to decide between make-up and break-up, and even those that keep the entire thing under wraps. Diddy and Cassie Rumors about Sean “Diddy” Combs being romantically linked to singer Cassie Ventura circulated for years. Neither Cassie nor Diddy have confirmed or denied directly, but the two have been photographed extensively together and hints on Twitter leave most of us convinced the two are dating. Tabloids began reporting the couple’s engagement in 2008, but Combs’ reps quickly squashed the story, saying it was a complete fabrication. I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned! Cassie Spotted Shopping With Diddy’s Mom In Beverly Hills [PHOTOS] Nelly and Ashanti Nelly and Ashanti took great pains to remain hush-hush and avoid confirming their relationship over the few years they were continually spotted together. The two were constantly photographed out and about together, kissing, holding hands and cuddling, but both parties continued to claim they were “just friends”. They both remained committed first and foremost to their careers while still making time to enjoy each other’s company. Nelly’s made it clear he only wants to get married once: Will Ashanti be the one? Ashanti Reveals How She & Nelly Met For His “Behind The Music” Special Usher and Tameka Foster Usher and on-again, off-again love Tameka Foster’s relationship was riddled with drama. The couple was engaged in 2007. Foster brought three children into the marriage from two different men and was the subject of scorn by many gossip outlets and fans. After canceling their first wedding planned for July 2007, the couple was ultimately married in August 2007. Tameka suffered a cardiac arrest before going under the knife in Sao Paolo for cosmetic surgery. The couple had two children together, but filed for divorce in June 2009 after being estranged for nearly a year. For those of you counting: If that timing is true, the couple spent almost half of their 2 year marriage apart. Christina Milian and The-Dream Christina Milian and The-Dream wed in Vegas in September 2009. Christina gave birth to their daughter, Violet, in March 2010 as rumors of their failing relationship began to circulate. According to statements by the couple, they had already decided to call it quits as of late 2009, but did not share those plans publicly in an effort to protect their daughter. Photos of The-Dream canoodling in the Caribbean with his assistant, Melissa Santiago, surfaced and the fact that he wasn’t wearing his wedding band at the time confirmed the splitsville rumors were true. Is Christina Milian Back With Her Ex-Husband The Dream? Nas and Kelis Musical power-couple Nas and Kelis met at the MTV Video Music awards in 2002 and quickly made things official by marrying in Atlanta in July of 2005. The couple was expecting their first child in 2009, but a seven-months-pregnant Kelis filed for divorce. The couple was surrounded by scandal at the end of their relationship when a sex tape portraying Kelis with another man was sent in to the Wendy Williams Show. Adding fuel to the tabloid fire, Kelis gave birth to a baby boy on July 21, 2009 while her estranged hubby was out partying in the Queensbridge Projects. Two wrongs don’t make a right, but they do make it dunzo. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon This May/November romance had many skeptics claiming it couldn’t last, but one $2.5 million diamond engagement ring and twin boys later, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are still going strong. With no formal engagement announcement or confirmation, Cannon and Carey married in the Bahamas in April 2008. The couple renewed their vows for their two-year anniversary — marking the occasion with an even bigger engagement ring replacement — and are expecting twins in May 2011. Mariah Carey’s Topless & Pregnant Shoot [PHOTO] Kanye West and Alexis Phifer Kanye West had a rough go of it in 2007 and 2008. In addition to dealing with his mother’s death, West broke off his engagement with long-time girlfriend Alexis Phifer. West and Phifer had been dating on and off since 2002 and got engaged shortly after Donda West’s sudden death. Kanye became consumed by plans for this Glow in the Dark tour, however, and the relationship suffered for it and the couple split in April of 2008. While we didn’t get to see a what a Yeezy wedding would look like, we did get 808’s and Heartbreaks. Rihanna and Chris Brown The domestic abuse scandal between Rihanna and Chris Brown began on Grammy night 2009 and the exes still manage to make headlines. R&B royalty in their own right, the couple stepped out together in 2007 but remained coy about the status of their relationship. Robert Pattinson Says He And Kristen Stewart ‘Have Different Ways Of Thinking’

On ‘MTV First: Robert Pattinson,’ he opens up about ‘Twilight’ co-star. By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in “Eclipse” Photo: Summit Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart clearly have a connection: From their onscreen chemistry in the “Twilight” saga to their real-life romance, the two stars undoubtedly see eye-to-eye on a lot of things. That is, however, except for how they approach their careers as performers. During his live 30-minute chat with us for “MTV First: Robert Pattinson,” the actor discussed the differences between his outlook on the acting process compared to KStew’s. “We just have different ways of thinking,” Pattinson explained. “I like the kind of cerebral aspect of things, and she has kind of an immediate emotional response to stuff every single time.” In fact, their approach to things in real life often reflects their decision-making as actors. “She can be thrown by something someone says and notices much more about people, whereas I just want to see the meaning of something,” the 24-year-old star of “Water for Elephants” explained. So, how does RPattz’s more-mental approach to acting bode with KStew’s responsiveness? Not too well, actually. While Pattinson admitted he’s someone who can’t take on a project until he entirely gets it , Stewart will be the first to point out what there is to “get” is actually right there in front of him. “She’s like, ‘Why can’t you understand? It’s obvious . You don’t know, you shouldn’t be an actor!’ ” RPattz described with a laugh. But, then again, his approach to his acting career is very much rooted in instinct. “I don’t want to just act for the sake of acting,” he told us. “If I’m not doing kind-of cool stuff, then I don’t want to be in front of people.” The star, who confessed he doesn’t even like having his picture taken, added, “All I want to do is make movies that I want to see. I’ve always tried to go for that and … you’ve got to go through lots of different hurdles to go to that level.” While he will continue to look for projects that challenge and interest him, he fully admitted he’s not the type of actor who has a deep-rooted passion for the craft. “I don’t know what that feeling is,” he said of the desire to act. “It’s like, ‘What do you want to do?’ ‘I want to read someone else’s lines right now! I want someone to film me saying something!’ It’s, like, really weird.” Are you surprised to hear Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart differ so much in their approach to acting? Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Landslide’: Story Behind Gwyneth Paltrow’s ‘Glee’ Cover

Holly Holliday revisited the classic made famous by Stevie Nicks on latest episode. By Aly Semigran Gwenyth Paltrow on “Glee” Tuesday Photo: FOX Gwyneth Paltrow is back, Gleeks, and she’s brought the legendary Stevie Nicks with her. After weeks of waiting, the Academy Award-winning actress, who has more recently been spending her time performing onstage at various awards shows, including the Oscars and the Grammys , finally returned to reprise her “Glee” character, flighty substitute teacher Holly Holliday. During her turn on Tuesday night’s (March 8) episode, titled “Sexy,” Paltrow, who made a lasting impression last time around thanks to her giddy (and squeaky-clean) take on Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You,” took on an entirely different sound when she sang the moving Fleetwood Mac classic “Landslide.” Accompanied by twangy guitars and a banjo, Paltrow drew on her country music chops (heard most recently in her 2010 drama “Country Strong”) as she covered the timeless tune. But even before getting the “Glee”/Gwyneth treatment, “Landslide,” written by Nicks, has long been considered a treasure of the Fleetwood Mac catalog. In 1973, 25-year-old Nicks penned the song during a stay in the snowy mountains of Colorado. Although there have been various theories regarding who — or what — the song is about, the singer set the record straight during a visit to VH1’s “Storytellers” in 1998. “Everybody, everybody seems to think that I wrote this song about them — everybody in my family, all my friends, everybody,” Nicks said on the show. “And my Dad, my Dad did have something to do with it, but he absolutely thinks that he was the whole, complete reason that it was ever written.” She went on to explain just how the song came to be, “[Bandmate] Lindsey [Buckingham] and I went up to Aspen and we went to somebody’s incredible house and they had a piano and I had my guitar with me and I went in their living room, looking out over the incredible Aspen sky and I wrote “Landslide.” The song, which includes such lyrics as “I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills/ ‘Till the landslide brought me down,” would become a turning point in the careers of Nicks and collaborator Buckingham, who was also her boyfriend at the time. As she told the “Storytellers” audience, “Three months later Mick Fleetwood called on New Year’s Eve 1974 and asked us to join Fleetwood Mac.” “Landslide” was initially released on Fleetwood Mac’s self-titled 1975 album, but it wasn’t actually released as a single (despite being a fan favorite) until 1998, when a live version of the song appeared on the Fleetwood album The Dance and hit airwaves. It peaked at #10 on Billboard ‘s adult contemporary chart and hit #51 on the Hot 100 that year. The sentimental and deeply personal song, with its simple, yet effective guitar chords and lyrics like “Well, I’ve been afraid of changing/ ‘Cause I’ve built my life around you” found its way into the hearts and onto the records of other inspired artists, most notably the Smashing Pumpkins and the Dixie Chicks. The Smashing Pumpkins released their version of “Landslide” on their 1994 B-sides album, Pisces Iscariot. The cover went on to be one of the rock band’s most-beloved tracks and even had the approval of Nicks herself. As she told fans during a 1998 online chat with SonicNet, “There’s nothing more pleasing to a songwriter than [someone else] doing one of their songs.”[‘Landslide’] also led me to being friends with Billy [Corgan] and the possibility that we’ll work together,” she said of the Smashing Pumpkins frontman. “Over this song, there’s been this incredible connection … he reached out … I believe that my poetry is really meant for everyone, no matter what age.” Nearly 10 years later, chart-topping country trio the Dixie Chicks created their own rendition of “Landslide.” Released on their 2002 album, Home, the trio’s cover also became a favorite among fans. With its debut on Glee, “Landslide,” proves that it continues to be a song that speaks to many generations, moving listeners years after Nicks first shared the song with the world more than 35 years ago.
