It was a shocking and heartbreaking turn of events. Fans have been sending their condolences to Lourd ever since, wishing all the best to the Scream Queens 2 star in this impossibly challenging time period. And now Lourd has acknowledges their messages. “Receiving all of your prayers and kind words over the past week has given me strength during a time I thought strength could not exist,” Lourd wrote on Instagram. She added: “There are no words to express how much I will miss my Abadaba and my own and only Momby. Your love and support means the world to me.” As you can see below, Lourd included a photo of herself as a child with the post. It also features younger versions of Fisher and Reynolds: At 60 years old, Fisher, died unexpectedly on December 27, four days after suffering a heart attack on board an airplane. Reynolds, her 84-year-old mother, proceeded to pass away the next day after suffering a reported stroke. According to Reynolds’ son, the veteran actress said she wanted to be “with Carrie” just prior to passing away. The 24-year-old Lourd, whose father is Hollywood agent Bryan Lourd, appeared opposite her mother in 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens. She is not a household name, but all of Hollywood and everyone on Twitter has had Lourd in their thoughts and prayers in the days since these terrible events. View Slideshow: Billie Lourd Photos: Who is Carrie Fisher’s Daughter? On December 12, Lourd appeared opposite Seth Meyers and talked about life as the daughter of an icon. She told the talk show that that Fisher and Reynolds originally attempted to dissuade Billie from pursuing acting, yet were overwhelmingly proud of her accomplishments after she decided to take this path. The young star even said at the time that Reynolds offered a suggestion for how Lourd should be referred to in Hollywood. “She gets really upset when I get called ‘Carrie Fisher’s daughter,’” Lourd told Meyers. “She wants people to call me ‘Debbie Reynolds’ granddaughter.’ It’s very offensive to her. She does not like to be cut out — not at all.” Great stuff. Also: sad, sad, sad stuff. Over the past week or so, a great number of of Lourd’s Scream Queens costars have reached out via social media to send their support. Kris Jenner Pays Emotional Tribute to Debbie Reynolds

Kris Jenner has penned a tribute to Debbie Reynolds. And we don’t even have anything negative to say about it. While it’s typically a reflex at this point to mock Jenner for everything she does or says, the reality star has taken a few moments to relate to Reynolds as a mother. There’s nothing to make fun of about that. The beloved former actress, of course, died from a stroke on Wednesday . Alongside a black and white photo of Reynolds with her two children, Carrie and Todd Fisher, Jenner wrote the following on Instagram: Absolutely heartbreaking and unimaginable. As a mother I cannot imagine the pain and heartbreak of losing a child. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and a true Hollywood legend… Debbie Reynolds, you will be forever missed but never forgotten!! My love and prayers are with Debbie and Carrie’s family… Jenner is a mother of six. Reynolds was known both for her long and impressive acting career, but also for the close bond she shared with daughter Carrie Fisher. And Fisher died just a day before Reynolds. In response to both passings, celebrity reaction and fan reaction has been both swift and sad. There have been a number of moving tributes, although we may have now found a new favorite. It tragically comes to us from Todd Fisher, Reynolds’ second child, and it features an incredible drawing of his mother and sister. “This is a beautiful love story to witness in my 58 years. I miss them both so much. Love is everlasting,” Todd wrote as a caption to this image: The drawing was created by Ricky LaChance. It depicts Carrie and Debbie with their arms wrapped around each other’s shoulders. The former is dressed as her iconic Star Wars character, Princess Leia; while Reynolds dons a yellow raincoat, just like Kathy Selden, her character in 1952’s Singin’ in the Rain. “What a glorious feeling I’m happy again,” it says above the photo, which is a lyric from Reynolds’ musical comedy. Fisher died on Tuesday after suffering a major heart attack last Friday. Within 24 hours, Reynolds also passed away, saying on her death bed that she just wanted to be with her daughter. Heartbreaking stuff. View Slideshow: Carrie Fisher: Mourned, Honored by Hollywood “My sister has graduated to heaven, but she has left us all with so much of her, It is a very sad time for my family and all her friends,” Todd previously tweeted about Carrie’s passing. Both tributes mentioned here are included among the plethora made by A-listers who took to social media to mourn both Hollywood icons. Prior to Reynolds’ death, the log-time actress thanked everyone for their prayers in a statement shared to her Facebook account. “Thank you to everyone who has embraced the gifts and talents of my beloved and amazing daughter,” Reynolds wrote on Tuesday, December 27, adding: “I am grateful for your thoughts and prayers that are now guiding her to her next stop.” And now Reynolds has joined her at that stop. It’s heartbreaking, that’s for sure… View Slideshow: Debbie Reynolds: Mourned, Honored by Hollywood … but it’s also sort of beautiful, isn’t it? Debbie Reynolds: Mother of Carrie Fisher Suffers Possible Stroke

More sad news out of Hollywood today, as iconic actress and singer Debbie Reynolds has reportedly been rushed to a Los Angeles-area hospital after exhibiting symptoms of a stroke. Just yesterday, Reynolds’ daughter, Carrie Fisher, passed away after suffering a heart attack aboard an airplane. According to TMZ, Reynolds was at the home of her son, Todd Fisher, discussing plans for Carrie’s funeral at the time of her medical emergency. Sources say Reynolds’ family called 911 to report a possible stroke, and she was transported to the hospital by ambulance shortly thereafter. Early reports offer few details about the 84-year-old’s condition. Reynolds was reportedly admitted to the hospital around 1 pm PST. Sources say her family has gathered to be by her side, and they’re currently awaiting a prognosis. TMZ is reporting that emergency dispatch audio indicates multiple units were directed to the scene, and first responders stated that Reynolds appeared to have suffered a stroke. Though these days she’s likely best known as the mother of Carrie Fisher, for many years, Reynolds was one of the most in-demand performers in Hollywood. Reynolds has racked up more than 80 film and television credits over the course of her eight decades in the industry. She earned an Academy Award nomination for her role in The Unsinkable Molly Brown, an Emmy nod for her work on Will & Grace. Fisher spoke openly about the difficulties of being raised by two celebrities (her father was actor Eddie Fisher), telling Oprah Winfrey in 2011: “The family is organized [around] the parents, [whereas] normally the family is organized around raising the child.” Over the years, Reynolds has been equally candid about the rough patches in her relationship with her daughter. “There have been a few times when I thought I was going to lose Carrie,” she said in her interview with Oprah. “I’ve had to walk through a lot of my tears. But she’s worth it.” View Slideshow: Carrie Fisher: Mourned, Honored by Hollywood Our thoughts are with Debbie’s family during this tremendously difficult week. We will further updates on this story as more information becomes available.

Debbie Reynolds Dies; Actress, Mother of Carrie Fisher Was 84

Debbie Reynolds, the iconic actress who starred in some of Hollywood’s best-loved films, has passed away at the age of 84. Reynolds’ daughter, Carrie Fisher, passed away  just yesterday after suffering a massive heart attack aboard a commercial flight. According to TMZ, Reynolds was at her son’s home, making arrangements for Fisher’s funeral, when she suffered the stroke that claimed her life just hours earlier. Over the course of her nearly 70-year career, Reynolds racked up more than 80 film and television credits, including such enduring classics as Singin’ In the Rain and How the West Was Won . She scored a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award nomination for her work in The Unsinkable Molly Brown in 1965, and an Emmy nod for her recurring role on Will & Grace in 2000. In 2015, she received the Academy’s Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award. Reynolds’ personal life was often the subject of intense media scrutiny, such as when her first husband, Eddie Fisher, left her Elizabeth Taylor. Reynolds’ often turbulent relationship with her daughter was also a frequent source of interest to fans and the tabloid press. Both parties spoke candidly about their difficulties, with Fisher using the relationship as the basis for her autobiographical novel, Postcards From the Edge , later adapted into a film starring Meryl Streep. Reynolds was also a highly-regarded singer and stage performer, and one of the world’s foremost collectors of film memorabilia. At one point, she owned Marilyn Monroe’s “subway dress” from The Seven Year Itch , a Charlie Chaplin bowler hat and a copy of the ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz , all of which she fought to have displayed in prominent museums. But for all of her many accomplishments, in later years, Reynolds was best known as the mother of one of Hollywood’s most beloved scren icons. “There have been a few times when I thought I was going to lose Carrie,” Reynolds told Oprah Winfrey during a 2011 interview. “I’ve had to walk through a lot of my tears. But she’s worth it.” Reynolds’ passing marks a fitting, but almost unbelievably tragic end to one of Hollywood’s most compelling mother-daughter relationships.
