Reality TV: Shaunie O’Neal Says B-Ball Wives Won’t Tolerate Fighting Next Season

Is it too late? Folks have had enough of “Basketball Wives” making a mockery of black women on TV and Shaunie O’Neal, Vh1 and Shed Media are now making promises that may be hard to keep — no more physical violence on the show. We know Jen must be relieved she won’t be getting smacked on camera anymore! Peep the full statements below. From Shaunie O’Neal: “This has definitely been a heated season. “Basketball Wives” is filled with a lot of strong personalities with months, weeks, days and hours condensed into about 45 minutes each episode. Unfortunately, a lot of these personalities have clashed and let their opinions and emotions overwhelm them which has at times gotten the best of them, escalating into physical confrontations. As this group has been blessed with strong, smart, independent, sassy women with as much passion as vocabulary, there’s NO excuse for physical violence. So the cast, SHED Media and Vh1 have done a gut check, to stop allowing physical violence demoralize the show and impose a no-physical violence policy. Personally, I almost didn’t come back to the show but I thought it was important for this to be said as some of the past actions this season I have not agreed with, it’s not what I stand for and never have. So moving forward, we have agreed to better the show, still with plenty of drama and fun (how can we help that?!) but with a more responsible attitude all around. This is important for me specifically as an executive and what I do and don’t attach my name to, as a grown woman, and as a positive role model to my kids. “ Nice — but how much fun has this season really been? Especially for poor Jen? Here’s the statement from SHED Media: “Shed Media US is fully committed to telling the compelling stories of the Basketball Wives in a balanced way. Our producing partner Shaunie O’Neal feels strongly about this, and we fully agree with this stance. We support her as she encourages the cast members to work out issues in a non-violent fashion,” reports Shed. “We look forward to working with her and the rest of the cast on conveying more balance in the next season.” And this is what Vh1 had to say: “Lately, there has been a lot of conversation about Basketball Wives, a series featuring strong, intelligent women with very passionate viewpoints which can sometimes escalate. We at VH1 agree with and support Shaunie and the show producers’ “no excessive physical confrontations” policy on the series moving forward,” reports VH1. “We are all committed to balancing the candid, bold excitement that the viewers have come to love in the series with storylines and representations they can be proud of.” Is it too little, too late? And do you even believe them? Continue reading

Here’s just what you need to keep that Prometheus mania going: A batch of fantastic Prometheus photos and stills featuring Charlize Theron , Michael Fassbender , Noomi Rapace , Logan Marshall-Green , and others from the cast in their spiffy (and skin-tight) Prometheus space suits. It’s a space suit party! Oh, the laughs Charlize and Fassy and Noomi share when they’re not on set staring ominously into the distant at unknown horrors, or resting those space helmets on those sassy hips. The adorbs moment below comes from an exclusive photo shoot for EW’s May 11 issue, which includes great looks from the set along with in-character portraits of the cast. Thankfully (?) these photos don’t seem to give away any spoilers, so you can click through to your heart’s delight and take notes for crafting your own homemade Prometheus Halloween costumes. ‘American Horror Story’ Season Two Is In ‘A Different World’

Creator Ryan Murphy reveals the new season will take place at an East Coast mental institution. By Jocelyn Vena Dylan McDermott in “American Horror Story” Photo: FX New place, new time, new characters. That’s what fans already know about the second season of “American Horror Story,” but now creator Ryan Murphy is dishing even more details. Speaking at a TV Academy panel Wednesday (April 19), Murphy confirmed that the second season in the series will, in fact, take place at a mental institution on the East Coast, as had been rumored. That institution will be run by season-one fan favorite Jessica Lange, who will return as a spankin’-new character. According to Murphy, that locale was teased by Sarah Paulson’s medium character in the first season. “Something that Sarah Paulson’s character, Billie Dean, says to Jessica and Taisa as she’s sage-ing the house [during the ‘Birth’ episode] and talking about places where evil collects: We talk about institutions and prisons and things like that,” Murphy said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “That was the clue.” Paulson is also set to return to the show, playing someone new, as well as Zachary Quinto, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe. While season one was set in the present, Murphy hinted that season two will take place in another time. “It’s a completely different world and has nothing to do with season one; there’s not a mention of season one,” he noted at the event, where he was joined by past castmates Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Alexandra Breckenridge and Denis O’Hare, most of whom met tragic fates in season one. But he added that some of those actors may also return in some form. In addition to some old faces, Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine has been added to the cast, playing one-half of “The Lovers.” French actress Lizzie Brochere has also joined the cast, potentially playing a nemesis to Lange’s character. The new season will kick off later this year on FX. What are you expecting from season two of “American Horror Story”? Share your theories in the comments!

Meanwhile, there will be a Teen Mom 3, with the cast selected from members of the all-new 16 & Pregnant cast … everybody clear on all this now? “Season 4 will be the final season of Teen Mom with Maci, Catelynn, Amber and Farrah,” MTV tells Us . “They will continue to be a part of our MTV family.” “We’re thankful to these brave young women for sharing their stories and helping to make a positive impact on teen pregnancy prevention.” There’s no specific date set for Season Four’s premiere. Sad to see the original stars retire? Amber Portwood’s police run-ins should keep her in the news, but will we ever hear from Maci, Farrah and Cate again?
