The spending reportedly got so bad that the artist was unable to pay his management team, which is said to be the reason he has now had a federal lawsuit filed against him. According to reports from The Blast , Chase Entertainment, the group suing the rapper stated: “In a futile effort to come up with a negotiating strategy to help T-Pain leverage his way out of his irrefutable legal obligation to pay Chase post-termination management commissions, believed to be in excess of $1 Million, T-Pain finds himself reduced to fabricating absurd and baseless claims against his former manager. Despite repeated demands by Chase, T- Pain has refused to account to or pay Chase for their rightful share of commissions.” This statement comes after T-Pain originally filed a lawsuit against them, claiming that he is the one who was owed money by the management company–$1 million to be exact. On the contrary, Pain has stated that he paid all of the commissions he owed over the years and did so on time, too. In the artist’s lawsuit to Chase Entertainment, the rapper stated that they failed to pay for the expenses they were supposed to and that they did not provide any accounting work for his finances. Now, Chase Entertainment is the one seeking $1 million in damages from the rapper. They have also denied all the allegations T-Pain has thrown at them in his lawsuit prior.

C hanning Dungey , the ABC Entertainment Group president who pulled the plug on the Roseanne reboot, turned a page in her impressive career that includes becoming the first Black president at a major broadcast network. See Also: 7 Times Black TV Shows Got Political And We Loved It The online streaming giant Netflix hired Dungey as a vice president who will oversee original content, Hollywood Reporter said on Monday. “I’m drawn to the forward-thinking, risk-taking and creative culture at Netflix, and the deeply talented people there, especially Ted (Sarandos) and Cindy (Holland) , with whom I’m excited to partner on setting the strategy for original content,” said Dungey, who starts her new position in February. Dungey was expected to share the vice president of originals position with Holland and report directly to her. The Black executive will also have a direct line of communication to content chief Sarando. Joining Netflix also gives Dungey the opportunity to reconnect with Shonda Rhimes , the creator of “Scandal,” and “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris . Netflix ain't playing. https://t.co/GWp275l1Wc — Tre'vell Anderson (@TrevellAnderson) December 17, 2018 Dungey, who spent most of her career at ABC, created a lot of buzz from industry watchers who speculated about Dungey’s next move following her announced departure from the network. It came after she canceled Roseanne Barr ’s show over Barr’s racist comment about former Obama aide Valerie Jarrett . “Given that ABC, the place I’ve called home for nearly 15 years, represents the gold standard of traditional broadcast, it feels like the perfect next step for me to join Netflix, the unparalleled leader in streaming. I’m invigorated by the challenges ahead and the opportunity to forge new relationships, and excited for the very welcome reunion with incredible talent,” Dungey said. Speculation had focused on Dungey either joining one of two Netflix-based production companies: Rhimes’ Shondaland or the Obamas’ Higher Ground. She has the best of both worlds. Dungey’s new positon gives her greater oversight of both companies, according to Hollywood Reporter. “We’re delighted to be adding Channing’s expertise, leadership and deep experience to Netflix, and I look forward to partnering with her as we continue to grow and evolve our global network. I have been a fan of her character and approach from our early days as executives,” Holland commented. Rob Kardashian has endured quite a number of trials and tribulations over the past Granted, many of his problems are self-created, and the 31-year-old has engaged in some truly deplorable behavior over the years, but there’s still been a great deal of public concern about his apparent self-destruction. One of the clearest outward indicators of his mental health has been Rob’s weight . The former reality star’s size has fluctuated wildly over the years, and insiders say all those ups and downs have taken a tremendous toll on his health. Rob managed to lose a great deal of weight during his relationship with Blac Chyna , but it seems he’s been gaining it back in the years since they called it quits. Rob has been keeping a low profile in recent months, but unlike previous occasions in which he abruptly disappeared from the public eye, insiders say there’s no cause for concern. Rob is apparently steering clear of harmful influences so that he can fully focus on his health. Sources say he reached the decision to change his ways after receiving some very dire warnings from his team of doctors. “He was warned that if he didn’t lose weight, it could eventually become life or death, but since then he lost pounds and feels so much better,” one insider tells Entertainment Tonight. “Rob has struggled nonstop for years with his weight and he finally seems to have turned his life around,” the source adds. “Lately Rob’s friends have been talking about how proud they are of him because he made his health a priority.” “He works out regularly with a trainer and that has made a difference in his shape. He really is beginning to look like the old Rob.” The insider adds that Rob’s family has offered both emotional and financial support, as they don’t want him worried about anything other than getting well. “Kris has been a huge financial support,” the insider says. “His mother purchased part of his sock company, which has helped tremendously. He wants to do more business and has been talking to companies about partnering with their brands.” As for his dating life, Rob is reportedly happily single these days. The source claims he has no intention of re-entering the dating pool until his health and his finances are back on track. “Rob is nowhere near dating anyone right now seriously,” the insider says. “He’s happy to be getting himself back and wants to focus on that now. “Rob has changed and wants to be the best father he can be. He wants to make sure Dream is cared for, so he is working on a plan to make more money.” Sounds like Rob is finally back on the road to recovery. We wish him all the best. Those who’ve been on social media since 2012 have witnessed both the rise and fall of J Law. But even though Jennifer Lawrence defended Ryan Seacrest against #MeToo accusations, she totally disavows Harvey Weinstein. And she’s now responding to the rumor that the disgraced former producer launched her career in exchange for sex. Late last week, a Jane Doe plaintiff filed a lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein. The actual suit says that he lured her into a private meeting under the guise of discussing her career, only to then sexually assault her. It is an all-too-familiar story of the nightmare that many women face in the entertainment industry and beyond. Though the actress filing the suit has not been identified, one very recognizable name from court documents caught people’s attention. According to the lawsuit, Weinstein once claimed that he had slept with Jennifer Lawrence. His alleged brag also said that the sexual relationship was responsible for J Law’s A-list career. Of particular note was that he referred to Jennifer’s 2012 Oscar win. “I slept with Jennifer Lawrence and look where she is,” he reportedly told Jane Doe. “She has just won an Oscar.” The implication was that he could make — or break — careers on a whim. Pointing to a star at the height of her career and claiming that he made it happen in exchange for sex was clearly meant to encourage this woman to voluntarily sleep with him. That is just so gross — especially in light of everything else that the world has heard about Weinstein. So … is it true? Jennifer Lawrence released a statement to Entertainment Tonight to address the claim that Weinstein allegedly made to the unnamed actress. “My heart breaks for all the women who were victimized by Harvey Weinstein,” Jennifer Lawrence writes. But she, she announces, was not one of them. J Law states: “I have never had anything but a professional relationship with him.” “This is yet another example of the predatory tactics and lies that he engaged,” she concludes. “In to lure countless women.” “This lawsuit was filed and updated strategically with no notice given or any attempt to reach out to Mr. Weinstein’s attorneys for one reason;” Weinstein’s team claims. That’s right — he still has people who are willing to take his money in order to defend him. “It was meant to embarrass Mr. Weinstein and garner unchecked media attention,” Weinstein’s spokesperson claims. Bold of them to imply that their client could possibly be embarrassed at this point. We’re well past that. “There is absolutely no truth to the malicious claims made in this lawsuit,” the response claims. The statement continues: “And we are reviewing our options with an eye on filing for an immediate dismissal.” “Mr. Weinstein is embarrassed for Ms. Lawrence,” the spokesperson says. They continue: “with whom he has only had a professional and respectful relationship, who has sadly been dragged into this ugly attempt at defamation.” Jennifer Lawrence began her statement by directly expressing sympathy for Weinstein’s alleged victims, but she didn’t say alleged . We imagine that J Law would tell Weinstein exactly where he can stick his embarrassment. In the end, Weinstein’s response says that this lawsuit is just taking cheap shots without repercussion. “This filing further proves that anyone can say whatever they want in a lawsuit,” the spokesperson adds. The statement concludes: “for maximum shock value, to defame and debase, without having to offer any facts or reality.” Well, people can make a lot of accusations in lawsuits. But we somehow doubt that Jane Doe filed this suit for fun. View Slideshow: Hollywood Sex Scandal: Who’s Been Caught? Accused? Fired?
Source: Via Event Planner KayCee Nwasike / Via Event Planner KayCee Nwasike Ever since Cardi B recently announced that she was divorcing her husband and father of her child, Offset has been doing the absolute most to get her back. He’s taken to social media to blame everyone else for the demise of his marriage, told the world how much he misses her and even recently made a video pleading her to come back and let him spend the holidays with his family. But on Saturday night, he took his public display of nonsense to an entirely new level. During her performance at Los Angeles’ Rolling Loud Festival, the Migos rapper decided to hijack Cardi B during her performance to ask for forgiveness. With a loud and tacky flower arrangement that read “TAKE ME BACK CARDI,” Offset told his wife, “I just want to tell you I’m sorry. You’re my best friend in the world. Whatever I got to do to show I love you, I’ll do.” “I just wanna tell you I’m sorry bruh,” he said. “And furthermore, I love you.” Sigh…who is he calling “bruh”? Thankfully, she let him have it backstage. #Offset offers his apology to #CardiB on stage! Are we here for it? Via: shadylipz/Instagram pic.twitter.com/Qs46Gz4xEE — BET (@BET) December 16, 2018 Wow, Offset really just interrupted Cardi's set to beg her to take him back. This is disgusting and embarrassing. I feel bad for her. pic.twitter.com/ThrVQtnlqU — I Luh God (@aVeryRichBish) December 16, 2018 While there are plenty of folks out there who may find this to be a romantic gesture, I am not here for any of this posturing bafoonery..at all. What Offset did was manipulative, toxic and downright abusive. Cardi B has made it clear that she no longer wants to be with this man, has “fallen out of love” with him and wants to move on with her life. For folks with common sense, this is understandable given that Offset has cheated on her multiple times during the course of their relationship. But Offset isn’t trying to hear that. He refuses to leave her alone and learn from his mistakes. So, he took it upon himself to steal her moment, which was monumental given that Cardi was the first female headliner in Rolling Loud’s 3-year-history. He decided that his needs trumped her feelings, personal space and spotlight. So he came to her job uninvited, ambushing and coercing her in front of thousands of people, thinking she would crumble under the pressure of not wanting to bruise a Black man’s ego in public and essentially take him back. If this isn’t the definition of toxic masculinity, I don’t know what is. Sadly, he didn’t do this all by himself. For the complicit folks at Rolling Loud who knew about this before hand—and even bragged about it on Twitter—and the people close to Cardi who were in on the stunt and didn’t tell her ahead of time, they all need their asses beat too. This did not have to happen in public. Be clear: My critique isn’t about me stanning. I’ve never been a Cardi B fan—I’m still confused at all her Grammy nominations and am often turned off by her online and in-person behavior , especially that NYFW nonsense with Nicki Minaj a few months back. Not to mention, her colorism and past homophobic and transphobic remarks. But what I do appreciate is her come-up story, her resilience and watching her grow as a woman, a rapper and a mother. I want Cardi to be happy, successful and revel in the fact that she knows her worth. But perhaps, that’s the problem. Perhaps that’s why philandering goons like T.I. , The Game , Kirk Frost and 50 Cent continue to berate the 26-year-old for “breaking up her family,” while downplaying the severity that having sex with other women can have on a marriage. Could you imagine if Cardi B would have cheated on Offset? These same “men” would never be fighting this hard for this relationship to work. But I digress. See, folks hate when Black women stick up for themselves, have standards and are empowered in their decisions. In addition, folks routinely shame Black women who refuse to allow their relationships to be solely based on pain, one-sided sacrifice, trauma and infidelity. It literally makes folks’ blood boil to see Black women unbossed, unbothered and happy on their own terms—just ask Ciara . In the end, if Cardi takes Offset back, that’s her own business and I promise not to judge. And while she has asked for folks to not “bash him,” it’s important that we continue to hold this man—and other Black men like him— accountable, an act that too often feels like a rarity instead of the norm. It’s also important that we listen to Black women and remind them that despite what the world may tell them, they are the experts of their own lives and know what’s best for them and their families. Finally, if anything, it’s important for us to use Offset’s behavior as a teachable moment to educate brothas on why this is unacceptable, what healthy relationships and boundaries actually look like, and why Black women are not garbage bags to dump your trashy trifling baggage into. We’re tired of carrying that load, and frankly, we’re entitled to so much better. Somehow, in the year 2018, beauty pageants still exist. It remains a confounding fact that women are paraded around on stage and judged for their bodies and their brief answers to very broad and stupid questions by a panel of random judges. But still… they do exist. And a rather major beauty pageant was held on Sunday night. So… who took home the crown of Miss Universe 2018? Name other than Miss Philippines, Catriona Gray! The new and beautiful champion beat out 93 other hopefuls in a star-studded competition, including runner-up Miss South Africa Tamaryn Green and the second runner-up, Miss Venezuela Sthefany Gutiérrez. The victory caused Gray to break into tears. The theme of the 67th Miss Universe pageant was “Empowered Women” and it was judged by seven women including former pageant winners, businesswomen and a fashion designer. It also included the first-ever transgender contestant. But the 24-year-old Gray – who was born in Australia and studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts – simply would not be denied her moment to shine. Even though Miss USA actually tried to steal she spotlight a few days earler… … but acting like a spoiled American snob. Late last week, Sarah Rose Summers came under fire for making comments about two non-English speaking contestants during one of the show’s rehearsals. Joined by Miss Australia and Miss Colombia in an Instagram video filmed on the preliminary night of competition, Summers spoke openly about Miss Vietnam, H’Hen Nie, and Miss Cambodia, Rern Sinat, and their struggles with English. As you can see below, she mocked their ignorance: Sarah Rose Summers, Miss USA, Mocks Pageant Contestants for Not Speaking English After the video went viral, Miss USA issued the following statement: @MissUniverse is an opportunity for women from around the world to learn about each other’s cultures, life experiences, and views. We all come from different backgrounds and can grow alongside one another. In a moment where I intended to admire the courage of a few of my sisters, I said something that I now realize can be perceived as not respectful, and I apologize. My life, friendships, and career revolve around me being a compassionate and empathetic woman. I would never intend to hurt another. I am grateful for opportunities to speak with Nat, Miss Cambodia, and H’Hen, Miss Vietnam, directly about this experience. These are the moments that matter most to me. Beauty pageants are dumb and sexist. But that doesn’t mean Gray didn’t deserve to win this one. CONGRATULATIONS!
S pelman College recently received a major gift to push the institution’s educational initiatives forward. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution , that Atlanta-based HBCU was given a $30 million donation from one of it’s trustees and her husband. Spelman College received the largest gift from living donors in its 137-year history, a $30 million donation from long-standing Spelman trustee Ronda Stryker and spouse William Johnston. https://t.co/iyESorL89s — AtlBizChron (@AtlBizChron) December 14, 2018 The donation—which was made by Ronda Stryker and William Johnston —was the largest contribution from living donors in the school’s 137-year history, the news outlet writes. It will go towards the creation of Spelman’s new Center for Innovation & the Arts. The facility will serve as a hub for programs related to art, film and photography, digital media, and dance. It will also include a theater, café, and an expansion of the Spelman College Museum of Fine Arts. Stryker—who is an executive at the Fortune 500 Company Stryker Corporation—joined Spelman’s board of trustees in 1997. She’s now the vice chair of the Spelman College Board of Trustees and leads the board’s Arts, Innovation & Technology Committee. Throughout the years she’s made several contributions to the institution; helping it to grow its study abroad program, providing funding for STEM initiatives, helping out with the expansion of the Spelman College Museum of Fine Arts and growing the school’s annual fund. “As former educators who believe strongly in social justice, Bill and I have great appreciation for how Spelman provides a superior education for students that encourages them to be global change agents,” Stryker said in a statement . “Spelman alumnae are leaders across every field imaginable, breaking new ground, while tackling some of the world’s most challenging issues from health disparities to the digital divide. Pete Davidson has deleted all of his social media accounts after sharing a dark and disturbing message that has left followers very concerned. “i really don’t want to be on this earth anymore,” the 25-year-old Saturday Night Live star posted, adding in cryptic fashion: “i’m doing my best to stay here for you but i actually don’t know how much longer i can last. “all i’ve ever tried to do was help people. just remember i told you so.” Davidson has a history of mental illness and addiction. He has often been open about both, during appearances on SNL and in his life overall. After sharing this frightening note, Davidson deleted his Instagram account. Sources have indicated that he is currently safe and sound at 30 Rockfeller Center, preparing for SNL this evening. Not long before posting what comes comes close to a suicide note, Davidson wrote online in support of Kanye West and, seemingly, against ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande. West and Grande are in a bit of a feud at the moment because the former went off on rival Drake Thursday night . Grande then tweaked him for stealing the thunder of her latest single release, writing: “Guys, i know there are grown men arguing online rn but miley and i dropping our beautiful, new songs tonight so if y’all could please jus behave for just like a few hours so the girls can shine that’d be so sick thank u.” Most folks found this to be funny. But Kanye found it to be very inappropriate . I know Ariana said this to be cool and didn’t mean no harm but I don’t like even slightest level of slight commentary from someone I know loves and respects me,” he Tweeted, continuing: “All of this foolishness weighed on my mental health. “so @ArianaGrande you know I got love for you but until you’re ready to really make sure everyone’s ok don’t use me or this moment to promote a song.” Kanye was accusing the pop star of trying to ride his coattails to promote her music, while also mocking someone who has been hospitalized for a mental breakdown. In response, Grande stood up for herself and her career, but also apologized. She wrote: “With all due respect, i don’t need to use anyone to promote anything. period. i was making a comment ab what men were doing at the time vs. women. “it was a joke which i understand now was probably insensitive. i apologize if i was in any way triggering and hope u feel well today.” The case and feud appeared to be closed, but then Davidson actually jumped in and sided with Kanye. He appeared to label Grande’s response to West’s Twitter rant “disgusting,” sharing this message/image on his official account before erasing it. “Bravo Kanye West for standing up for yourself and speaking out against mental health. I can’t explain to you enough how difficult and scary it is to be honest about stuff like this.” Davidson has gone through an awful lot of late. He and Grande got engaged this summer after just weeks of dating… and then they broke up in a public and ugly manner. Pete then came under extreme for for an inappropriate joke during Weekend Update . He has seen his reputation take a pretty huge hit in less than a year, and, as mentioned above, this is someone who had already been battling mental illness and addiction for years. Not long after Davidson appeared to threaten that he might kill himself, Ariana Tweeted the following: Man I’m so sorry I told a dumb joke. I really didn’t mean any harm. All I want everyone to be healthy and happy. So desperately. Please. My god…I’m downstairs and I’m not going anywhere if you need anyone or anything. I know u have everyone u need and that’s not me, but I’m here too. She has since deleted it. But please join us in wishing Pete Davidson the best.
