This year was no different as PAYUSA has distributed frozen turkeys at multiple locations. The climax of the Thanksgiving Themed give away was Sunday 11/18 when the City of Atlanta’s Office of Constituent Services lent their support to serve the people alongside Positive American Youth. The Mayor of Atlanta, Mrs. Keisha Lance-Bottoms came out to meet the people and hand out a few turkeys herself! Additional support came from John Foy & Associates and Amerigroup. Briana DeJesus has a message for Javi Marroquin on the occasion of her ex-boyfriend becoming a father for the second time. But it isn’t exactly congratulatory. A day after Javi and Lauren Comeau welcomed a baby boy into the world, DeJesus took to Twitter and strongly accused Marroquin of cheating on her. Sort of a strange reaction, given the blessed development for the former Teen Mom 2 cast member? Yes, but Briana thinks she has new proof that Javi stepped out on her with Comeau earlier this year. You see, Javi and Lauren dated for a couple months in the summer of 2017. After they split, Marroquin started getting down and dirty with DeJesus, a relatively new star on the aforementioned MTV hit. And then not long after they split, Javi returned to Comeau’s bed. But DeJesus now says on Twitter that the relationships overlapped. To wit: Fans will likely remember that Briana traveled down to Miami for some plastic surgery on the date she cites above. Her and Javi were very much on the outs at the time, but he showed up in Florida to support her, making it seem as if he wanted things to work out between the D-Listers. So now we can do some math: Comeau gave birth on November 15. She was due on December 1, however, which is 10 months after Javi and Briana were in Miami together, attempting to work things out. According to DeJesus, this means Javi and Lauren were clearly back in touch, if not already having sex again, considering how soon she got knocked up after this Florida trip. And according to DeJesus, this is evidence that Marroquin’s feelings for her were totally fake, as you can see by her follow-up Tweet before: Again, there does seem to be a bit of time in between Marroquin and DeJesus’ break-up here. Moreover, the status of Javi and Briana during the infamous Florida vacation remains unknown. Were they really, truly, 100% together? We may never know, but Javi, at worst, wasted VERY little time in moving on from DeJesus. But this doesn’t exactly come as a surprise to anyone who has followed the rocky journey of Briana, Javi and even Kailyn Lowry. We’re pretty sure Marroquin was doing all THREE women at one point . T he role of racism factored heavily in the Florida gubernatorial election, but not exactly how you might think it did, supporters of Andrew Gillum recently told the Tampa Bay Times. Yes, the president’s white nationalism-based backing for Republican Ron DeSantis only energized the Florida voters who likely cast ballots with the lone objective of keeping a Black man from becoming the Sunshine State chief executive. But perhaps it was Gillum’s consistent references to the overt racism from DeSantis and his supporters that may have convinced them to vote against the Tallahassee mayor. It all depended on which Democrat you asked. “Andrew Gillum would have won if he were white,” Judy Beck, a Democrat from St. Petersburg, told the Tampa Bay Times. Gillum was not conceding “after Florida’s machine recount showed Ron DeSantis with a lead that appeared insurmountable barring an extraordinary turn of events,” according to the Tallahassee Democrat . Florida State Sen. Darryl Rouson, who is Black, didn’t mince his words. “I’m not one to call racism unless I smell it, feel it, touch it, walk with it. But there are many who would argue, and make good points, that racism did have a role,” he said. Friday’s report was published amid growing calls for Gillum to concede the race “after Florida’s machine recount showed Ron DeSantis with a lead that appeared insurmountable barring an extraordinary turn of events,” according to the Tallahassee Democrat . The facts are clear, though: DeSantis cast the first racist stone the day after Gillum won his primary, warning voters not to “monkey this up” by electing the Democrat. That instance of racist dog-whistling was just the latest in a line of many from the Republican, whose supporters launched a series of racist robocalls that featured monkey sounds. Still, at least one Florida-based Democratic consultant thought Gillum shouldn’t have focused on the racism aimed at him from DeSantis and Trump. “People did not like him playing the race card,” Edwards told the Tampa Bay Times. “That had a demonstrable effect.” Race clearly played a role when it came to the actual election, which saw gubernatorial ballots cast along racial lines with 86 percent of Black voters going for Gillum, according to exit polls. But polling ahead of the election showed Gillum with a consistent, if not narrow, lead, casting further doubt on any polling ahead of an election. Still, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. And this campaign was aflame with racially provocative language that kept Gillum on the defensive addressing DeSantis’ reckless claims. But was it enough to sway the election? The answer is yes and no, according to Shannon Love, a Democratic consultant in St. Petersburg. “I don’t think many people would say they don’t think race was a factor at all, but the question is how much of a factor,” she said. Cops arrested 22-year old Christopher Precopia while he was working at a lumberyard in Williamson County, TX, and accused him of burglary with intent to commit other crimes. Christopher had no idea what he was being taken to jail for, then later found out that his ex-girlfriend from high school had fabricated a story to the cops. The KVUE reports: The accuser said Precopia broke into her home in Temple and sliced an X into her chest with a box cutter. Her identity is not being made public because she is not being charged with a crime. She would later admit to Temple police that she reported Precopia because she had a rocky relationship with him several years earlier. On the night of the alleged attack, Precopia was actually 65 miles away at a hotel in Austin with his mom, Erin Precopia. Luckily, he decided to take a selfie of himself with his family that evening, which he posted on social media. Police have finally dropped the charges against Precopia nine months after his arrest. Thank God for selfies.
Last week, Alaina Housley, niece of Tamera Mowry and Adam Housley, was murdered in a mass shooting. Now, the bright teenager has been laid to rest. Temera shared a heartbreaking quote about grief to mark the occassion. Reports on the 12 innocent lives lost in the Thousand Oaks shooting were consumed by stories of the raging wildfire that is tearing through Southern California. But Tamera can’t think of anything but her niece, her grief, and her family. “Today we lay you to rest sweet angel,” Tamera writes on Instagram. “I’ll miss you forever,” she continues. “And your sweet smile.” “Until we meet again,” Tamera adds. She follows those words in her caption with an emoji of two linked hearts. Her caption is beside an image of a very relevant quote. “Grief never ends… but it changes,” the quote begins. “It’s a passage, not a place to stay,” the quote continues. The quote notes: “Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith.” “It is,” the quote concludes. “The price of love.” That is heartbreaking but very accurate. Tamera gave context for the quote that she shared. “This quote was sent to me by my friend David,” she says. She didn’t tag him, which is a tasteful way to give him credit without getting him mobbed by fans. “When I am having a challenging day,” Tamera shares. “I cling to it.” She has had a lot of challenging days in the past week. Her entire family has. Tamera confirmed that she did not have sex until she was 29 and then, wracked by guilt due to her religious beliefs, remained celibate until marriage. She has come under fire for her marriage to Adam Housley. Some took aim at their interracial marriage — because yes, this world is still full of hatefulness and racism. Others took aim because of Housley’s role at Fox News, a conservative outlet that gives a platform to outspoken white supremacists like Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson. It should be noted that Housley departed from his role at Fox News in protest over the network’s pivot from actual journalism to Trump hype. And at any rate, any criticisms that one might have of Tamera or her husband can wait. They are in mourning. Alaina Housley was a freshman at Pepperdine University. It was college night at the Borderline Bar & Grill in Thousand Oaks, California. What should have been a night to party, mix, and mingle turned into a massacre. Tamera and Adam have expressed their sorrow, not only for their own loss, but for the other 11 innocents who were gunned down. And for their families, and for the numerous individuals who were injured. One of the victims who did not survive had, just a year earlier, survived the Las Vegas shooting. To Alaina’s loved ones who survive her, the reality of her tragic death is still sinking in. Some of them may feel betrayed that the world immediately moved on from the story of the massacre. As we mentioned, multiple blazes following serious drought in Southern California have raged through. Entire towns have been destroyed. Dozens are dead. Hundreds are missing or unaccounted for. 2018 has visited many horrors upon us all, but seems to be doubling down on the people of Southern California as the year draws to a close. Folks, if you’re still holding onto a shred of hope that Khloe Kardashian will dump Tristan Thompson , it may be time to give that up. Despite the fact that Tristan was caught cheating on Khloe will she was pregnant with his child, it looks like these two are gonna ride this thing out. For a while there, it looked as though Khloe was dropping hints about kicking her unfaithful baby daddy to the curb. These days, however, it’s more apparent than ever that these two are planning to stick it out. In fact, TMZ is reporting that Khloe will travel to Cleveland next week to spend Thanksgiving with Tristan and his family. Obviously, spending Thanksgiving with your significant other’s loved ones is a solid indication that you’re in a committed relationship. But spending Thanksgiving in Cleveland — well, that’s next level. Khloe had the option of chillin’ on the beach in Calabasas, and instead, she’s slogging off to the shores of beautiful Lake Erie. And it you don’t live in the Northeast or Midwest, then you might not be aware of it, but winter came early this year. We’re sure Khloe has all kinds of fashionable attire for colder climates, but we’re also sure she’d prefer to be at home, raking in a nice payday for hanging out with her sisters in the presence of an E! camera crew. Of course, True’s mama might be accustomed to the frigid temps by now. After all, Khloe has been spending quite a bit of time in Cleveland lately. She’s attended several recent Cavs home games, and her presence seems to be having a positive effect on Tristan. Thompson has been killing it on the court lately and looked especially dominant in his team’s win over Charlotte Tuesday night. So in the end, it looks like everything is coming up roses for Khloe and Tristan. Of course, it’s still very early in the NBA season. Tristan has a lot of away games ahead of him. Lauren Comeau has spoken out for the first time since before a mother… … for, well, the first time. As previously reported, Comeau gave birth to a child alongside Javi Marroquin just after 3 p.m. on Thursday, welcoming a precious boy about two weeks prior to her due date. The newborn does not have a name, but it’s very clear he does have two very loving parents. “It’s been amazing,” Marroquin told Radar Online about becoming a father once again. Radar included a snapshot of the parents and their child , as Javi continued: “I even shed some tears. For those that don’t know, I’m not an emotional person anymore at all and just seeing my son come out really had me in my feelings.” Comeau was due on December 1. But she explained to Radar that she had to be induced several days beforehand, not expounding on the reason why. “It’s been incredible,” she told the site, though, adding: “Being induced definitely threw us for a spin. I was nervous about having to start from zero at the hospital, but we had a really great experience.” We assume she means having to start at zero centimeters dilation upon the induction. You don’t want to hear about technical medical details, we know. You want to know the name of Javi and Lauren’s baby, right? The thing is… so do they! Marroquin told Radar very shortly after the baby was born that he and his girlfriend have not yet picked one out. “His first overnight was amazing,” Lauren added in her post-birth interview. “We all three slept in between nurse visits. He’s latching great. He’s a happy, healthy boy!” Marroquin, as you likely know, appeared on multiple episodes of Teen Mom 2 back when he was married to Kailyn Lowry . They divorced after four years of marriage, but have kept in close touch because they share a five-year old son named Lincoln. In response to Javi becoming a dad again, Lowry wrote “congrats” on Twitter and linked to a story about the exciting development.
