B lack women are making moves in the realm of entrepreneurship. Many of their ventures are designed to give back to individuals from disenfranchised groups. Two Black women in Tulsa are aiming to level the property ownership playing field through the creation of their own real estate company, Forbes reported. Paye , Esq. and Ernestine Johnson are the women behind the first Black-owned real estate crowdfunding company, the news outlet writes. Dubbed the Tulsa Real Estate Fund (TREF), the platform was created to help individuals in underserved communities overcome the obstacles of gentrification by helping them make low-cost real estate investments. Those who take advantage of the fund can invest in property for less than $1,000. The two were motivated to start their venture after doing research about the racial wealth gap and the ravaging affects of gentrification. Hearing the stories about people who were pushed out of their neighborhoods because they couldn’t afford to stay there and realizing that there was a lack of resources offered to low-income individuals related to property ownership prompted them to take action. “I said to myself, ‘I have to use my art and my voice to financially empower low-income, underserved, and urban communities,” said Johnson, who serves as the co-founder and chief communications officer of TREF. Paye, who serves as the company’s vice president of business affairs, says that her personal experiences motivated her to make a change. “My parents struggled and sacrificed to become homeowners. Now I see the pride they have in their home,” Paye told Forbes. “Also, as an attorney, I have facilitated numerous real estate transactions for first-time homebuyers. I have seen the power of real estate to transform people’s lives.” There are several initiatives that have been launched to give individuals a seat at the table when it comes to the redevelopment of their communities. Last year, the Entrepreneurs of Color Fund —which was specifically designed to give Black entrepreneurs access to capital—grew to $18 million. Stacey Abrams Tied In Race For Governor Despite GOP’s Hold On Georgia

G eorgia is one of the reddest states on the political map, yet Democratic nominee for governor Stacey Abrams is running neck-and-neck against her GOP rival in the polls. SEE ALSO: Georgia Isn’t Even Trying To Hide Its Racist Voter Suppression Efforts With This Video Republican nominee Brian Kemp held the slimmest of leads among likely Georgia voters, 47-46, over Abrams, according to an Ipsos/Reuters/University of Virginia Center for Politics poll reported on Wednesday. Kemp’s 1 percentage point lead is statistically insignificant. That poll reinforced results reported on Oct. 11 from an Atlanta Journal-Constitution/Channel 2 Action News survey  that also found a 1 percent lead for Kemp. The race is stunningly close in a state that last elected a Democrat ( Roy Barnes ) for governor in 1998. If Abrams wins, she will become the nation’s first African-American woman governor. The wave of Black women candidates just got stronger with this grassroots funding milestone. #RepresentTheVote https://t.co/s58JvQWrMA pic.twitter.com/wA4csBNFc1 — NewsOne (@newsone) October 19, 2018 Republicans control the Georgia legislature. Both U.S. senators from Georgia are GOP members, and the state gave its electoral votes in 2016 to President Donald Trump . Despite all the madness coming from the White House, around 50 percent of Georgia voters still approve of the president’s job performance, the Ipsos poll showed. Yet Abrams is making headway in a historic bid for governor. Part of the reason is the demographic changes taking place across the state, according to Fox News . Metro Atlanta’s nonwhite population almost doubled from 1970 to 2015, and those minority voters largely support Democrats. At the same time, Georgia has seen a record number of people register to vote for the midterm election. No wonder Kemp, who oversees elections in Georgia as secretary of state, is trying every trick in the book to suppress minority voters from participating in November. His efforts include an attempt to  block 53,000 voter registration applications —about 70 percent of whom were African-Americans. SMH: Charges Filed Against Two Former School Officials In Fort Valley State Sex Scandal

Darrin Klimek/Getty Images Charges Filed Against Fort Valley State Officials Over Alleged Prostitution Ring Official charges have been filed against two Fort Valley State University administrators in connection with an alleged prostitution ring. As previously reported, Alecia Johnson, a graduate member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a former executive assistant to the University’s President, was under investigation for allegedly pimping women to “pay” for pledging. She’s now been charged alongside one other former Fort Valley State University official and five others. The Chronicle of Higher Education reports that Johnson and six others are facing charges related to prostitution and sodomy dating to 2017. Johnson’s been charged with numerous crimes, including six counts of pimping and six counts of prostitution. They add that she was also charged with conspiring to steal a student’s book-scholarship money, awarded in October 2015. The other official named is Charles Jones, Fort Valley’s former chief legal counsel, who was charged with pandering and solicitation of sodomy. Fort Valley State has released a statement confirming that they’re cooperating with the investigation. “FVSU has promised its students that their safety and security is our first priority, and we fully support the application of the judicial process,” the statement says. “We have consistently and aggressively worked with the University System of Georgia and law enforcement to ensure that anyone who allegedly puts our students at risk is investigated thoroughly and expeditiously, and have advocated for the most appropriate standards to be applied.” Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the nation’s first black sorority founded 110 years ago, previously released a statement confirming that their own investigation was underway and condemned Johnson’s alleged actions. “These allegations are in no way representative of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s 110-year service-based mission or its nearly 300,000 members. We condemn these allegations in the strongest possible terms,” the statement said. SMFH, this is deplorable. We hope officials find out what really went down at this school.

Digital Star Prince Ea Reevaluates What It Means To Be A ‘Social Media Influencer’ In Viral Acceptance Speech

Read the original:

These days, it can feel like you’re nobody if you’re not killing it on social media. With folks habitually checking Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter, it’s as though your life on the web means more than what’s really going on in your day-to-day. And being a social media influencer is the new popular—you’re not cool if the world isn’t following your page…and following your lead. As you’re able to reach millions of people with the click of a button, your online profile is a kind of power the world has never seen before. Recently, filmmaker and spoken word artist  Prince Ea received the Social Influencer of the Year Award at Black Enterprise’s first-ever Black Tech Awards and addressed using that power for good. It was everything. If you don’t know Ea, he was featured in Forbes’ 30 Under 30 this year, as well as Oprah’s SuperSoul 100 , and he’s pretty well known for his life tips. Case in point: “Life Tip #144: The people who are meant to be in your life will always gravitate back towards you. No matter how far they wander.” He’s also got a over a billion views on Facebook and Youtube. Needless to say, he was a shoe-in for the award and now he’s gone viral yet again for what he had to say as he got up on that stage to accept the honor. After thanking Black Enterprise, he told the crowd: “That word ‘influencer’ is interesting to me because it’s like we’re influencing people to do what, right? A lot of people call themselves ‘social media influencers’ but you’re influencing people to do what? Is it to reach a level of beauty that is not attainable naturally? Is it to have people lust after cars or material objects that will never bring somebody true happiness?” He continued, “When you get pulled over and you’re drunk they say ‘you’re under the influence.’ A lot of people are intoxicated by what these influencers put out there. When you get sick what do they say? ‘You’ve come down with influenza.’ A lot of people are ill because of what what these influencers put out there. So I just have one question for every influencer, because we’re all influencers, and that question is: when people come to your page, do they walk away better or worse?” It was an incredible point to make. “I have chills from his words. Very genuine, wise and he takes his influence seriously. He’s accountable for his actions, global reach and content being produced. Wooooow! Thank you! ,” one fan @ danisocali   commented. Swipe left to watch his speech up top and let us know your thoughts on what it means to be an influencer in 2018? The #LipGlossChallenge Is Literally Poppin’ & Putting People’s Raw Talent On Display

Source: Paul Archuleta / Getty People can say what they want about Lil Mama , but a decade ago, she had one of the biggest hits of that year with “Lip Gloss”. Since then, the Brooklyn emcee has had a slew of other hits, but as an artist, it’s hard AF to top your first single.   Nonetheless, Mama kept going, kept dancing, kept rapping and acting — and low and behold, ten years later, her first single is now a viral dance challenge. Some say the challenge was started by producer Capella Grey , which is why some people are calling it the #CapellaGrey challenge. But regardless of what name you title it, it’s still just people rapping or singing acapella to the infamous beat that Lil Mama made hot back in 2008. Youtube singer Jimani Unique got her little sister to do the challenge, and not only did they wound up going viral, but now they’re the face of the entire challenge. My sister bodied this #LipglossChallenge #CapellaGreyChallenge pic.twitter.com/30maEUM4m8 — Hali (@haliberry_) October 16, 2018 Even Lil Mama herself posted the video, writing, “WTF A #LipGlossChallenge OKAY YALL WANNA PLAY… LETS F*CK*N GO!!!JIMANI A BEAST”.  She posted another one of 15-year old Cee Chanell and her friends who absolutely BODIED the entire challenge. They sang, gave us a catchy hook and bar or two, which no one was expecting at all.   But regardless of which viral challenge it is, seeing little kids do it and kill it is always the cutest thing. Like Youtube singer @LitOfficialMusic and her little sister, who served as her hype woman. Classic!   Lil Mama has come a long way since the days of her bum-rushing stages and getting roasted on social media for pretty much anything she did. Let’s put some respeck on Mama’s name and bask in this way over due moment glory. Hit the flip to check out some of the dopest #LipGlossChalllenge videos. Seriously?! Trick -or- Treaters Over The Age Of 12 Could Face Jail Time In Certain States

Some States Are Enforcing Certain Laws About Trick-or-Treating Though nobody is too old to enjoy some good old-fashioned holiday fun, some communities across the country have decided to enforce trick-or-treat age restrictions for Halloween . Those who violate these restrictions, according to where they’re located, can end up facing some pretty serious consequences. For one example, the city of Chesapeake, Virginia, has declared that anyone over the age of 12 is legally prohibited from going door-to-door seeking free candy.  The ordinance code  states that anyone who breaks the order could be slapped with a $100 fine, a misdemeanor charge, and up to six months in jail. That means that a child as young as 13-years-old could actually be locked up for participating in a holiday tradition. According to the  Associated Press , local governments in places including Maryland, South Carolina, and Mississippi have implemented similar restrictions, and it has sparked outrage among both kids and parents in those areas. Not too surprisingly, there’s even a petition calling for a repeal of the Chesapeake law. An excerpt of the petition  reads: “ Sure, there are a few bad apples out there who are more interested in the trick part of Halloween, rather than the treat — but should that ruin the fun for everyone? And should a minor ever face jail time for something as innocuous as trick-or-treating? We don’t think so.” The City of Chesapeake ended up issuing a statement in response to the criticism and pointing out that the trick-or-treat age limit has been in place for 45 years now. “In that time, no one has been arrested or charged with any crime under this Ordinance. Chesapeake Police officers will not impede persons who are clearly over the age of 12 from trick or treating, provided that they are doing so in an otherwise lawful, safe, and secure manner,” the statement reads. So there you have it. Do you think trick-or-treating should have an age limit?

Jenelle Evans 911 Call Released: David Eason Broke My Collar Bone!

Earlier this week, Teen Mom 2 fans learned that Jenelle Evans was rushed to the hospital after calling 911 to report an assault in her home. For obvious reasons, Jenelle's temperamental husband, David Eason, immediately emerged as the prime suspect. Evans attempted to protect Eason, however, claiming through her reps that she had simply fallen and injured herself during a party at her home. Now, the truth has come out via a shocking 911 call — and it's every bit as ugly as we suspected: 1. Public Enemy #1 David has never been a fan favorite. In fact, he was fired by Teen Mom 2 producers earlier this year for hurling homophobic slurs on his Instagram page. 2. A New Low But he may have officially earned the title of “most hated man on reality television” thanks to his latest scandal. 3. Jenelle’s Hell Based on initial police reports and the claims Jenelle makes in her shocking 911 call, it seems the story went something like this: 4. Drunk Dave David got drunk while hanging out at home on Saturday night. There was some sort of altercation, during which he struck Jenelle and pinned her down. 5. David’s Rage According to Jenelle’s phone call, which you’ll hear momentarily, David was so aggressive that Jenelle heard her collar bone “snap.” After the fight, Eason fled in his truck. 6. The Shocking Truth All of these details are revealed by Jenelle in a shocking recording obtained by TMZ today. Be warned that the following audio contains disturbing content that some may find difficult to listen to: View Slideshow

Teen Bakes Grandfather’s Ashes Into Cookies for Classmates

This story has everything: teenagers, a police investigation, and cannibalism. See, a California teen baked her late grandfather’s ashes into sugar cookies. She then brought these cookies to school and handed them out for classmates to eat . Someone is believed to have baked her own grandfather’s ashes into sugar cookies. That someone was a female high school student at Da Vinci Charter Academy, a public charter school in California. Because she is a minor, she has remained unidentified — which is good. What is not so good is that she brought the sugar cookies in to school and handed them out to at least nine other students. Some of the students are said to have eaten the cookies unaware of what they contained. But some of the students apparently knew exactly what they were getting. Davis Police Lt. Paul Doroshov confirmed that the unorthodox ingredient wasn’t a shock to all of the students. “Some students knew beforehand and still consumed the cookies,” Doroshov confirmed to the L.A. Times . Some who heard this story of course wondered if the cookies genuinely contained human remains, or it if was some prank. When asked if the claim was credible, Doroshov reportedly sighed. “Yeah,” he affirmed. Curiously, apparently another female student was involved in bringing the cookies to school. it’s unclear why she was involved, as the two young women are not related. Regardless, police were at a loss to categorize what happened as a crime. Some considered a California law regarding the improper disposal of remains. Others suggested that some sort of public nuisance charge would be more appropriate. Ultimately, it appears that no real harm was done and that this was the result of juvenile impulsiveness. In light of that, police have reportedly left it up to the school to figure out how to respond to something like this happening. As weird as this sounds to all of us, a lot of adolescent behavior is incomprehensible to adults. The brain is still maturing and hormones are more or less in charge. Still, multiple people have heard this story and openly wondered whatever happened to baking marijuana into food “like a normal person.” One of the students who ate one of these yikes-worthy cookies (just in time for Halloween, no less) spoke about the experience. He said that the cookies had visible gray flakes within them. Apparently the act of eating the cookies reminded him of chewing on sand as a child at the beach. He described being able to feel granules crunching against his molars. Our only response to that is to say, in contemporary internet parlance:  Thanks, I hate it! In a letter to parents, Da Vinci Charter Academy Principal Tyler Millsap addressed the issue. “This issue going on right now has been particularly challenging and our staff has responded appropriately,” he wrote. He praised staff for responding “in the most respectful and dignified way possible for all the students and families involved.” “I can say that those who were involved are remorseful,” he confirmed. “And,” he concluded. “This is now a personal family matter and we want to respect the privacy of the families involved.” He also pointed out that there is fortunately no health risk. This sort of thing should not happen again. You can make seasonal cookies in October without including cremated remains. In part, it’s about consent — people should know what they’re eating. In part, it’s about respect for the dead and for her own family. We know that, for centuries, powder made from Egyptian mummies was regularly consumed all across Europe as a “medicine.” That does not mean that it was good for anyone or that it should happen again.

Miley Cyrus Pussy Print Bodysuit of the Day

Miley Cyrus is out there in an outfit that hugs her pussy so tightly, it’s like she’s it’s mom and sending it off to the vietnam war, knowing it will likely ever come back, or maybe it’s like a wife during the Civil War, hugging her husband goodbye after she just packed up some freshly made bread for her husband to eat when he marches out to die….leaving her with their thirteen kids on their farm…. What I am saying is that shit is tight, suffocating, the kind of pants a tranny would wear to try to kill off it’s dick the ethical way, rather than having it surgically split open and turned into a pussy…. The nice thing about Miley’s tight outfit, is knowing hat her actual pussy looks like then cross referencing it with her tight pants…it’s like a parlor trick….a “What pussy matches what pussy definition” the game show game… JOIN THE NEWSLETTER YOU ASSHOLES!
