P hiladelphia’s police commissioner, who’s Black, rejected a report released on Monday that said police racial bias was instrumental in the controversial arrest of two Black men at Starbucks in April. However, many studies point to implicit bias as an ongoing policing problem. SEE ALSO: Starbucks Incident Prompts Philadelphia Police Department To Finally Try De-escalation In Trespass Cases The Police Advisory Commission, comprised of a citizen oversight board, urged police officials to improve officer implicit bias training, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported. “The goal for us was to help everyone understand that issues can be nuanced and tinged with race, or affected by race and racism, and the Police Department, often, is the person at the front lines of all of our issues,” said Hans Menos , executive director of the commission. That didn’t go over well with Philadelphia Commission Richard Ross , who pointed out in a statement that his department bans racially biased policing. “We can agree that biases, whether implicit or explicit, may distort the fears and perception of some citizens who call the police to report crimes,” he stated, shifting the blame to citizens who call the police for help. When they refused to leave, a store manager called the police, who led them out of the store in handcuffs. No charges were filed, and Starbucks profusely apologized for the incident. Starbucks also closed its stores in May for an afternoon of employee anti-bias training. Studies have determined that suspicion and fear of Black men underpin police brutality and make for disproportionate arrests. Unconsciously, white people perceive Black men as larger and more threatening than white men of the same build, according to the American Psychological Association . Stereotypes of Black men as habitual criminals and dangerous people are reinforced through the media, the American Bar Association said. A national survey found that whites overestimated the percentage of Blacks involved in burglaries, drug sales and juvenile crime by up to 30 percent. Police officers bring those attitudes with them, often unconsciously, when policing Black communities. Police departments across the nation are struggling to help their officers eliminate their bias. Teen Mom OG has gone all in on Bristol Palin this season. For better or worse. Despite a pretty severe drop in the ratings for the first few episodes, the show has dedicated a bulk of its time to Bristol's failing marriage. She and Dakota Meyer continue to clash over the latter's PTSD and the effect it has on the couple's relationship. Things have turned very ugly between the now-former spouses. What prompted Palin to break down into a puddle of tears on the latest Teen Mom OG installment? Scroll down for a recap of storylines and events… 1. Tiime Apart We opened this week with Palin taking off for Los Angeles in order to support son Tripp’s appearance on Dancing with the Stars: Juniors. This enabled her and Dakota to get a break after last week’s very difficult talks and admissions. 2. Now What, Though? Meyer was anxious to get the divorce process over with, however, so he called up his estranged spouse. And Palin immediately became combative, replying: “I know my lawyer sent you something the other day about, you know, please don’t touch my stuff. As soon as I find a new house, I’m be gone like the wind.” 3. I’d Like Some Props! Bristol continued on this call, giving herself a lot of credit for some reason by adding: “There’s no need for us to fight. There’s no need for us to have bad blood between us. It’s all gonna be good. I’ll be there. I’m a great mom. I’ll continue to be a great mom.” 4. Frustration Grows “Do you see what I have to deal with on the back side of it? It’s around and around, it’s way off topic,” Dakota told producers after the call. “Why do the attorneys have to come into it? I have no doubt that her mom is sitting right next to her, stoking that fire. It’s unfortunate that a communication about the children has to be this exhausting.” 5. Don’t Ya Know?!? Sarah Palin was in Los Angeles with her daughter, offering advice like only she can. “Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn,” Sarah told her child. According to the former Vice Presidential candidate, the lesson here had something to do with “possessions and materialism” and how they don’t “amount to a hill of beans.” 6. Life is Suddenly Amazing! Back in Austin, Texas, Dakota said the two weeks without Brisol around made him the “happiest that I’ve ever been since 2015.” He added it felt “like what someone would feel like after they get out of a life sentence prison: incredible.” LOL/OUCH! Dancing with the Stars switched things up for Monday night’s live telecast. And no, we don’t mean Joe Amabile somehow figured out how to bust a move without tripping over his dance partner a few seconds later. A third dancer was added into the mix for each performance, and it actually made the performances fun. Some of these performers have barely mastered the art of dancing as part of a duo, so watching them adapt to being part of a trio was rather exciting. Juan Pablo Di Pace and Cheryl Burke with Melissa Rycroft Cha Cha, “Wavey” by CliQ featuring Alika After their perfect score last week, Juan Pablo and Cheryl were affected big time by the addition of a Melissa. It was clear from the rehearsal that there were going to be some glaring issues heading into the live shows. It wasn’t as polished as we’ve come to expect, but that’s what happens when you ruin a good thing. Melissa tried her best, but she just got in the way. Judges’ Score: 24/30 Tinashe and Brandon Armstrong with Amy Purdy Tango, “Hit Me with Your Best Shot” from Rock of Ages Being in the bottom two last week, Tinashe and Brandon knew they had to switch things up to get some of the good old viewer votes before it was too late for them. Before they really got a chance, they were tasked with working with Amy Purdy. Amy previously appeared in Season 18, and while she was a great dancer, she seemed out of place. Maybe it was the nerves. Either way, it was a still a decent performance. Judges’ Score: 26/30 John Schneider and Emma Slater with Joey Fatone Argentine Tango, “Torn” by Nathan Lanier John has been circling the drain for much of the season, so adding a third person into this was either going to make it sink or swim. Joey was a veteran from Season 4. Yes, that was several years ago, and he was pretty great. However, the overall performance was lacking, and that’s not a good thing. Judges’ Score: 21/30 Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe with Scarlett Byrne Salsa, “Black Magic” by Little Mix Evanna’s friend, Scarlett, with whom she appeared on the Harry Potter movies stopped by to help out with a robust performance. Still, this killed the momentum Evanna and Keo have been building for weeks. Judges’ Score: 24/30 DeMarcus Ware and Lindsay Arnold with Rashad Jennings Paso Doble, “Fire” by Barns Courtney Rashad Jennings is a previous winner, so what could really go wrong with this performance? A lot, apparently. DeMarcus struggled because of how hectic things were on the dance floor, and who can blame him? It reflected in the scores. Judges’ Score: 22/30 Mary Lou Retton and Sasha Farber with Nastia Liukin Charleston, “V.E.S.P.A.” by Dimie Cat Mary Lou struggled to keep up in rehearsals because the Charleston is fast-paced. She was in floods of tears at one point because she thought this would be the week it got too much. Thankfully, the performance was solid and proved why she was still in the competition. Nastia Liukin actually made this performance a solid one. Judges’ Score: 26/30 Milo Manheim and Witney Carson with Riker Lynch Salsa, “Adrenalina” by Wisin featuring Jennifer Lopez & Ricky Martin Milo, Witney, and Riker. Could they just become a trio for the rest of the season? I loved EVERYTHING about that show-stopping performance. Judges’ Score: 29/30 Joe Amabile and Jenna Johnson with Jordan Kimball Salsa, “I’m Too Sexy” by Right Said Fred In a blatant attempt to continue racking up the votes, Jordan Kimball, who recently claimed the woman he met on Bachelor in Paradise was cheating on him, appeared to help Joe. Yikes. The performance was embarrassing. Like, poor Jenna was run off her feet trying to show these two turkeys how to make it look like they cared about dancing. Judges’ Score: 15/30 Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten with Maddie Ziegler Tango, “Move Your Body” by Sia This will go down as one of the most surprising performances in the history of the show. Maddie, of Dance Moms and Sia music video fame, is a solid dancer. Putting her together with Alan and Alexis was a winning move. Those moves were fast, flawless, and most of all, breathtaking. Judges’ Score: 25/30 Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess with Lindsey Stirling Cha Cha, “U Can’t Touch This” by MC Hammer Lindsey returned to the floor, and we hate to say it, but she hindered Bobby and Sharna from doing what they do best: Dancing like they don’t care who’s watching. It was slow, full of the wrong steps, and lacked the charm. Judges’ Score: 20/30 When all was said and done, Evanna and Keo and Tinashe and Brandon were revealed to be the bottom two. We wish we were kidding here, but Grocery Store Joe managed to evade the bottom two. It’s becoming increasingly clear that the novelty acts are doing well this season. Today’s show is dedicated to honoring those who are fighting the disease, remembering those lost their battles, and informing people about the disease and what you can do to stay healthy. We we’re joined by Nurse Dina Linsey, M.S.N, R.N. and Dr. Kimberley Lee, M.D. from Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center. They went over with the Quick Silva Show the steps You should take if you find out that you have cancer. If you unfortunately hear the words “You have cancer” know first of all that you can beat it! After getting your fight spirit up, you have to get educated on what your next steps are. Step 1 : Know The Type of Cancer You Have: It’s imperative that you identify what type of cancer you have. Regardless of what you initially came into the doctor for you always want to make sure you know the exact type of cancer you’e treating. Step 2: Gather Information: Once you know the type of cancer you have, research is your best friend. Being informed on symptoms, the traits, and over all how it will effect you is the most important part of moving forward with treatment. Step 3: Interview Doctors: When it comes to any illness or diagnosis it’s normal protocol to get a second opinion. As Dr. Lee and Nurse Dina said you should always interview several doctors to see who has the best plan to execute you beating cancer. Step: 4: Find An Oncologist: After your interviews, select an oncologist that makes you comfortable and creates the best way to tackle the disease that makes you comfortable. Step 5: Make a list of questions for your first appointment and Bring a Friend for Support: Once you’ve got your oncologist it’s time to make your first appointment. If you’ve completed steps 1-4 you should have a list of questions. Before you start treatment ask the tough questions and gain a level of peace knowing how you and your doctor plan to execute treatment. Bring a friend as well, because tough questions lead to tough reactions and you want someone there to support you. Not only the support but be an active listener just incase you need to process everything that’s happening. Some corny Patriots fan decided to spray Tyreek Hill, a wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, with a beer in his face for catching a touchdown pass. The man seemed salty as Hill walked over to their riled up section, so he went in a completely did the unthinkable. So disgusting and the whole thing was caught on national tv. Back in September, the world was treated to the cutest Kardashian baby picture, though racist trolls targeted True . Now, Khloe is treating the world to a picture of all five youngest Kardashian cousins all in one plce. Khloe isn’t letting haters hold her back from sharing this unbelievably cute image of True with her four youngest cousins. She captioned this precious photo: “Cousin Cupcake Party!!!” Khloe’s captions then pitch the most adorable KUWTK spinoff that we can possibly imagine — though the acronym would be the same. “Keeping Up With The Kousins,” Khloe writes. Take a look at this photo and you’ll realize that such a spin-off would absolutely have a viewer base. Here we see Stormi Webster, True Thompson, Chicago West, Dream Kardashian, and Saint West. We don’t doubt that Kylie, Kyloe, Kim, and Rob’s babies have been in the same place and even photographed before. But this is the first time that we, the lowly public, have gotten to see and appreciate a pic like htis. We know that Saint and Dream are technically toddlers at this point, not babies like their cousins who were born this year. That said … we are very glad that these sweet little ones were included. Last month, the world was treated to a photo of the 2018 Kardashian babies. Chicago, True, and Stormi took the internet by storm — but there was unfortunately some backlash. Racist morons ridiculed True , using racist (and colorist) attacks because her skin was, in their horrible words, “too dark.” Some even dared to call True “ugly” for her darker skin. Khloe was of course impacted by seeing that kind of hate and, for a while, she deactivated comments on Instagram. Thankfully, True herself is way too young to see or understand that kind of hate. We just hope that the world is a better, kinder place when True comes of age. Some wonder if True bonding with her little cousins is going to complicate Khloe’s plans. You know how Khloe was allegedly going to move back to Cleveland with Tristan? Well, those plans are reportedly on hold. It’s been said that Khloe knows that she can no longer trust Tristan , and that she’s leery of uprooting her life for him again . Right now, Khloe has her family’s emotional support and physical presence — and True can grow up alongside her cousins. If Khloe does go through with the move, it will mean leaving all of that behind. True is Khloe’s focus right now. Reports have circulated that Tristan has been spotted with other women yet again. To be clear, these haven’t been the damning videos and photos that the world saw last April — just two days before True’s birth. But it’s enough to make anyone nervous — especially Khloe. Khloe was deeply affected when her own parents divorced, and it seems clear that she does not want that for True. But at some point, she may have to bite the bullet and leave if Tristan demonstrates that he cannot remain faithful. True is precious and innocent. She deserves the best life that her parents can give her. That does not necessarily mean that Khloe and Tristan need to stay together. Co-parenting is a thing, and it’s much better than growing up in a toxic household devoid of trust or fidelity. One could even argue that True could receive much more family stability by remaining in Calabasas, where the Kardashians are thick as thieves. Ultimately, this will be Khloe’s decision. Jenelle Evans … well, the girl has her issues, that's for sure. But whether you love her or hate her, there's no denying that she's always been cute. Sure, she makes terrible parenting choices more often than not, and yeah, she's been violent and irrational and just plain awful. She's been arrested practically a billion times, she consistently chooses men over her kids, she's been cruel to her mother, Barbara, even though she's been raising her son since he was born. … But she's cute! Teresa Giudice has broken her silence in regard to her husband’s major, life-altering legal troubles. And she’s done it in uproarious and absurd fashion. Teresa and Joe en route to court in 2014. Both were sentenced to prison for financial fraud. [Getty Images] As you likely know by now, Joe Giudice was ordered to return to Italy last week upon the completion of his ongoing jail stint. The Real Housewives of New Jersey personality is serving time for financial fraud and will be deported in a few months because he never actually became a U.S. citizen. This is a common legal decision in the case of an immigrant who commits a felony. To be frank, it’s just not one you see play out very often for white collar crime. It’s also not one you see play out every often in front of the entire celebrity gossip world; folks who have been invested in Joe and Teresa since they first appeared on Bravo. The reality star couple in simpler, happier times. [Getty Images] In the wake of Joe’s sentencing, there has been plenty of speculation regarding Teresa’s reaction. Is she angry over it? Sad over it? Actually relieved because now she has an excuse to divorce Joe ? We haven’t been able to say for certain because Teresa hasn’t spoken out about the legal ruling. Until now, that is. Sort of. The veteran reality star – who spent close to a year in prison herself for this same bankruptcy-related crime – took to Instagram over the weekend and shared the above meme. It features the Statue of Liberty with her face in her hands, presumably crying over the fate of Joe Giudice. How moving and profound, right? The Statue of Liberty is a symbol of immigration in the United States and Teresa captioned the Instagram image with a series of praying hand emojis. If God is listening, Teresa really wants Him to get involved here. Oldest daughter Gia, meanwhile, has made multiple pleas for her father to get a break here . She thinks Joe is being unfairly targeted because he’s Italian, which, well… it’s a take, we suppose. Gia, who is only 17 and who we do feel horribly for in light of this decision, has also shared the throwback photo above. She has included with it an emotional caption that reads: This is one of my favorite pictures of me and my dad. my father is no threat to society he is one of the most warm hearted people I know, he would never harm a soul. He puts everyone else before himself. Does he, though? Joe and Milania Giudice in 2016, before he began serving a 41-month sentence. [Instagram] Gia continued: I know who my father is and I think many of you do too. My father did his time and learned from his mistakes. Isn’t being in there supposed to make you realize your mistakes so you can become a better person? And that’s exactly what my father did. He hasn’t felt or looked this good since he was in his 30’s.
