Markle also didn’t hesitate to speak about her heritage while in Cape Town. On the royal family’s first day in the country, they visited the Justice Desk Initiative, which works to educate and empower people to combat poverty and unemployment. Tekashi 6ix9ine Could Be Entered Into The Witness Protection Program

Source: @JustInMyView / R1 Digital It’s no secret that Tekashi 6ix9ine has become the most famous snitch in pop culture since Salvatore “Sammy The Bull” Gravano flipped on J ohn Gotti and the Gambino crime family back in the late 90’s. With countless memes having been made comedically highlighting his dime dropping ways, Tekashi’s name has become synonymous with snitching across the Hip-Hop world with little to no sympathy for the troll turned government informant. But what will become of the rainbow-haired rapper once he gets out of prison and presumably thrown into the witness protection program? Will he still have a career in rap? Would artists and producers be willing to work with him as he walks around with that bright as his hair scarlet “S” on his person? Could he even live a normal life in the age of social media? The New York Times recently published a piece exploring what could await Daniel Hernandez once he gets out of prison and possibly leaves his Tekashi 6ix9ine days behind him. Minya Oh, best known as Miss Info, the founder of the hip-hop news website MissInfo.tv and a former host on the rap radio station Hot 97 in New York, called the 6ix9ine saga a “Greek telenovela tragicomedy,” and predicted that he would face a complex conundrum upon being released: curiosity would be at an all-time high, but within the hip-hop community, so would animus. “In the attention economy, just knowing that 6ix9ine might open his mouth somewhere is like shipping platinum,” she said. “But nobody with any of their own value will ever stand next to him. So he has to exist in a vacuum and can’t leave his house. All doable things for an artist in 2019 and beyond.” Labels would be reticent to allow their artists to work with him, Ms. Oh added, “But they all think when he gets out of jail, he will be a big draw.” But at what cost to the reputation of the label or the artist they pair with Hip-Hop’s “Henry Hill” ? Should Tekashi try and find that there is no path for him to get back into the rap game on the monumental scale he was at the height of his pre-snitch career, he can always go about the life of an everyday civilian getting by on a 9 to 5. Such a path would not be unprecedented. The government has successfully relocated and protected high-profile witnesses in the past; mobsters have started over as bakery owners, and reformed assassins have found new careers as doll salesmen, two former federal law enforcement officials said. “Despite how connected we are, and the appetite for social media content in this country, there are places where, if this kid gets a haircut and wears normal clothes, no one would know or care who he is,” said Jay Kramer, a former F.B.I. official who worked on organized crime cases. He might have to come out of pocket to get rid of his very recognizable face tattoos though as it doesn’t seem like the US is going to be coming out of pocket for cosmetic purposes. There is almost nothing in Mr. Hernandez’s background that suggests a capacity for discretion, and it is unlikely the United States Marshals Service, which runs the witness protection program, would pay for the removal of Mr. Hernandez’s signature face tattoos. If Tekashi decides to keep his facial features intact he might as well be signing his own death warrant because that alone is that visible scarlet letter that the world has become familiar with.

Collider is reporting that Will Smith will take on the role of the Harlem crime boss in the Netflix film The Council . Per Collider: Concussion filmmaker Peter Landesman wrote the script, which delves into the never-before-told story of a crime syndicate consisting of seven African-American men who ruled Harlem in the 1970s and early ’80s. This was no ordinary crime syndicate, as the men dreamed of a self-sufficient and self-policing African American city-state, funded by revolutionizing the drug game. The movie centers on the Shakespearean court intrigue between The Council’s king, Nicky Barnes, dubbed “Mr. Untouchable” by the New York Times, and all the different members — as one unlikely rising protégé emerges. The Council won’t be Barnes first time on the big screen. In 2007’s American Gangster he was portrayed by Cuba Gooding Jr. and wasn’t too pleased that story revolved around Lucas. Barnes was arrested and sentenced to life in prison without parole. He eventually became a federal informant after he became upset with how his criminal empire was being run while he was behind bars. Barnes was released in 1998 and placed in witness protection. He passed away in 2012, information about his death wasn’t released until this year. This Is Us Season Creator Breaks Down Totally Insane Season 4 Premiere

This Is Us just did it again. We guess we shouldn’t be surprised at this point. And yet: That’s sort of the whole point, isn’t it? On This Is Us Season 4 Episode 1 , which aired Tuesday evening on NBC, the beloved drama shifted our focus from its core characters to a bunch fo newbies… prior to wrapping up the premiere with yet another twist that brought everything together. Appropriately titled “Strangers,” the episode introduced fans to: Cassidy (Jennifer Morrison), an intense military officer whose wartime stint in Afghanistan left her detached, drinking and not very close to her husband, Ryan (Nick Wechsler), and their young son. After losing some control, along with her loved ones, Cassidy sought assistance from a veteran’s support group. From there, we saw her first meeting was interrupted by… Griffin Dunne’s Nicky , who hurled a chair through the window in a fit of drunken anger. Then there was Malik (Asante Blackk), a teenager who’s attempting to provide for a young daughter — at any cost. This new character’s parents are Darnell (Omar Epps) and Kelly (Marsha Stephanie Blake), who shower him with affection and also plenty of babysitting. Darnell made sure that Malik had a few moments of carefree bliss at a friend’s barbecue, where the latter grew instantly smitten with a new-to-Philly girl whose name is… Deja (Lyric Ross). Following along so far? Because we’re about to change time periods. In a flash-forward, viewers met a bold, quippy, struggling blind musician … who married the waitress at the diner he happened to visit by happenstance … and is now enjoying burgeoning fame, because this guy is… Jack (Blake Stadnik). Yes, present-day premature son of Kate and Toby! Both grandmother and mother had music dreams — and Jack was the one who seemed to turn similar dreams into an actual, successful reality. There’s your major Season 4 premiere twist, folks. Elsewhere, however, this opener was anchored in the past, traveling back to the early 1970s as Jack and Rebecca returned from their amazing road trip and were feeling out the possibilities of this new romance. Jack was invited to meet her parents (the incomporable Elizabeth Perkins and Tim Matheson) at a country club dinner, where our favorite underdog Vietnam veteran managed to impress everyone at the table. Ultimately, however, Rebecca’s father shook his hand … and told Jack that wasn’t good enough for his daughter. That’s a lot to take in overall, of course. Thankfully, showrunner Dan Fogelman spoke to Entertainment Weekly and broke down this shocking This Is Us premiere. Why did he introduce new characters in this fashion? Normally you would meet characters through the eyes of your main characters, which always gives you a little bit of a skewed perspective, because you’re meeting them through our characters. But that’s not how you meet strangers in real life. The first time you meet the person who becomes your husband or wife or your new boss or your business partner, they’ve had a whole life before you and the meeting with them is your first experience of them. So I wanted to give the audience that feeling of getting to know these people before you got to know them in relation to our main characters. What will the relationship between Cassidy and Kevin be like? The relationship is complicated, it’s formative, and it’s a very deep, interesting, bizarre relationship. And whether or not it’s ever romantic is for the series to delve into a little bit later on. But it’s an interesting thing when you look back — she’s going to be somebody who adjusts a part of the course of Kevin’s life. As is the entire first half of the season that he’s embarking on. How far might the show flash forward? Beyond Jack at the concert? I mean, anything’s possible. It’s not in the current plan right now… We do have plans for the future and that which we call “the deeper future” — because we call it the one where Rebecca’s in bed “the deep future” — but I think we would only being going past that linearly. Meaning a continuation of where we’ve been with Jack, but not even jumping further into the 2300s or anything like that. How will Jack’s blindness affect Kate and Toby in the present day going forward? It’s a gigantic story… Raising a child is a complicated process, and raising a blind child comes with extra challenges. Obviously, having a newborn child — with or without sight — is a challenging time for young parents. For any parents. You’re snipping at each other, you’re exhausted. [Now] there’s added stuff. Jessica Simpson can lay claim to many accomplishments in her young life: She’s been a pop star, an actress, a handbag designer, a business mogul, and of course, a mom: Some folks in Jessica’s situation might be inclined to rest on their laurels and become complacent in their achievements. But not, Mrs. Simpson-Johnson. No, the mother of three is still dropping jaws on Instagram, and not only because she still knows her way around a bikini selfie . This week, Jess is making waves thanks to the pic below — and the stunning revelation that came along with it. “6 months. 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240),” she wrote on Instagram. “My first trip away from #BIRDIEMAE and emotional for many reasons, but so proud to feel like myself again,” she added. “Even when it felt impossible, I chose to work harder.” Yes, Jessica welcomed a baby girl back in March — and in the months since she’s lost an astonishing 100 pounds. Celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak also shared a pic (above) of Jess, and he sang the 39-year-old’s praises in a heartfelt caption: “Beyond proud of this incredible woman. Been working together for over 12 years and she’s always the most warm, sweet, polite, and respectful person in the world,” Harley shared on Instagram. “And on top of it all, after being nonstop pregnant for as long as I can remember, she’s down 100 pounds and looks younger today than she was when we met. “Shout out to the awesome @sydneyliebes #fitclients #jessicasimpson.” Jess has yet to go into detail about exactly how she lost all that weight, but you can bet details are forthcoming. After all, Simpson is nothing if not candid with her fans. Jessica flaunted her massive baby bump in an unforgettable Instagram pic while she was carrying baby Birdie, and throughout her latest pregnancy, she opened up about her various difficulties in refreshingly frank social media posts. Jess is no doubt a talented singer and actress. But it’s that candor and self-deprecating sense of humor that fans have really responded to over the course of her career. Matt Roloff Breaks Silence on Ex-Wife’s Engagement

Let no one ever say that divorce has to be messy. Or ugly. Or really disagreeable at all. Don’t believe us? Just ask Amy Roloff and Matt Roloff. Not only did these two split after nearly 27 years of marriage and four kids, but they continued to work together on the TLC reality show Little People, Big World. Moreover, they actually continued to live on the same property until very recently, residing just 100 yards or so away from each other on their mutually-owned farm in Oregon. Just how well do these exes get along? Consider the following: Amy just got engaged last week to boyfriend Chris Marek — and Matt has now become the first family member to congratulate her in public! The Roloff patriarch did so in sort of a subtle way, but he definitely did so nonethless. “My buddy Ty and I got together for our regular Saturday morning breakfast today,” Matt as a caption to a photo he shared of himself and his friend over the weekend, adding simply: “He doesn’t do social media … so I filled him in on Amy’s exciting engagement news. Congratulations to Amy and Chris!!” There you have it, folks. We have no doubt that Amy’s kids, all of whom welcomed Marek into their lives years ago, are thrilled for their mother. But, as far as we know, none of them have said anything about the engagement on social media just yet. Marek popped the question a few days ago, shortly after Amy turned 55 years old. “I’m excited, I’m so surprised, I’m thrilled!” Amy told People Magazine of the engagement, adding to the publication: “I never in a million years thought I’d be getting married again, but I also hoped for it! Now that it’s happening, I couldn’t be happier or more excited.” She and Chris have been dating for almost three years and fans around the globe had been hoping/anticipating an engagement announcement could be forthcoming. Even Marek, who has rarely spoken to the press during his courtship of Roloff, commented on the major development after Amy agreed to marry him. “I was very nervous! It had to be a heart shaped diamond because I knew that’s what Amy wanted,” he said. Amy has since shown off her engagement ring ( it’s gorgeous!!!!! ) on Instagram and included with the snapshot a caption that reads: I was so surprised when Chris asked me to marry him. I said YES. I couldn’t be happier and so looking forward to this new part of our life journey together. I’m blessed. Love you Chris. I love us. No word yet on a wedding date or location or anything. But the couple has plenty of time. As for Amy and Matt? They’ve been nothing but respectful of each other over the years, with the notable exception of Amy having come out with a very personal memoir this summer. In one section, she writes in detail about her split from Matt and states firmly that he cheated on her back in the day with his current girlfriend, Caryn Chandler. In an emotional sense, at the very least. “We had someone that worked for us for a very long time, on our farm,” Amy writes of Chandler in the book, adding: “And I believe – this is all from my perspective – that there was more than just friends going on. And I think that evolved to a point where that got in the way of our marriage as well.” Yikes . Hailey Baldwin Just Liked A Pic Of Selena Gomez On Instagram & We’re Shook!

Hailey Baldwin, we see you girl! The 22-year-old model quietly “liked” a photo of Selena Gomez last night on Instagram, out of nowhere, and fans don’t know what to think. Although the two are not exactly BFFs , because, well, Hailey married Selena’s on-and-off ex-boyfriend last year, it looks like time may have finally healed all wounds? Ok, it’s hard to know what’s really going on here with just the smallest amount of Instagram activity, but anything is possible! And when you look further into the details of this story, it seems as though Hailey is totally offering up an olive branch. Besides Justin Bieber, who the girls both um, have in common, they also share best friend Raquelle Stevens. Raquelle posted a cute photo on September 23 to celebrate the launch of her new Vodcast, Giving Back Generation , which featured friends Courtney Lopez, Ashley Cook, and yep, Selena. The three women were Raquelle’s guests for her very first episode, and after the taping, she took to IG to promote the release. “On this episode we talk about what giving looks like through friendship,” Raquelle’s caption read. “This episode is particularly special to me as Courtney, Sel, and Ashley have been my friends all through my 20’s. We talk about what it means to support each other, forgive, and grow together.” “Look forward to hearing your feedback & hope it leaves you encouraged,” she wrote. Hailey liked the pic to support her friend, but Selena fans couldn’t help but notice the gesture. In the show, Stevens emphasized the importance of women not competing with one another and supporting each other instead. “When you’re in your lane, no one else is you,” Stevens said. SO basically, Hailey showed her support on the most appropriate of photos, making it very clear that she is here for that friendship message. And we’re crying it’s fine. Ok, I know that these two will probably never hang out and eat ice cream together, but still, the gesture is inspiring. And even better, it was intentional. Hailey’s “like” is still present on the post, so we’re pretty sure that this time she actually meant to leave it, unlike her last run-in with Gomez on social media. Remember last year when she accidentally followed a Selena Gomez fan account? And then she DM’d the owner saying she was sorry for accidentally following the account? … yeah, it was very uncomfy. But years before any of this love triangle drama went down, Hailey was actually a huge Selenator. Oh No They Didn’t dug up some old tweets made by Baldwin where she gushed about Gomez (and yes, even her relationship with Justin Biber, believe it or not.) In one tweet Baldwin said, “I’m for sure 100% team #Jelena.” Boy, how times have changed. Now, Hailey and Justin are happily married and well, life goes on. Who knows, maybe Selena will return the love to Hailey one day? “Never Say Never” , but I wouldn’t hold your breath.
