Mainly African American kids, under the guise that if they can get to college, do good on the field, and stay out of trouble ,they’ll get to the NFL and make enough money to support their family for eternity. It’s no secret that the money aspect and providing for their family is the main driver of these kids playing college sports. LeBron James and his Undisputed platform have been some of the most vocal on how young adults playing sports in college should be paid for all the money they’re generating. When in college, kids cant receive money based on their skills, name, or likeness, per the NCAA rules. Thanks to LeBron and his platform, all eyes were on California recently as they voted on a bill to allow college players to profit . The bill passed in a unanimous vote of 72-0, stunning everyone. Romeo Hunte’s Spring/Summer 2020 Collection Is Updating The Definition Of ‘Business Attire’

For his S/S 2020 collection held at Pier 59 Studios on Sunday, Romeo Hunte explored deconstructionism and the definition of “business attire.” Amongst a star-studded crowd, fashion insiders gathered to see what the Brooklyn-based designer would bring to the fashion masses. The juxtaposition of the collection showed Hunte’s desires to blend two worlds together — streetwear and business wear. The collection featured everything from oversized abstract-print blazers over cuffed denim shorts to parka trench coats where one half was a striped blazer and the other half was a denim jacket. Source: Ron Adar / Getty Hunte has always been one to use juxtaposition in his collection, perhaps to show that fashion doesn’t have to be so straight and narrow and that multiple identities can co-exist. While that is understandable and commendable, there was seemingly a disconnect between a few of Hunte’s pieces or rather their pairing, such as a denim shearling-laced jacket overtop an abstract crop top and leather mini skirt. Source: Ron Adar / Getty Some looks, like one male model who walked the runway with a black blazer stitched into jeans one piece, almost would have operated better as separates to co-exist with other pieces in the wardrobe. I constantly reminded myself that this was for the Spring and Summer, but most of the collection felt like a New York block party instead of an accessible way to dress for summer Fridays at the office. Again, the idea of merging two very prominent markets is extremely doable, but the main question becomes who is the target consumer or the ideal celebrity clientele. To bring streetwear to the luxury market, as Hunte cites his clientele to be, the fabric choice has to reflect the target market and creatively, a flow should take place. Source: Ron Adar / Getty Don’t get me wrong, there were a few moments of potential with some of his fringe parks, abstract sets, and tailored crop blazers. There was a black-and-white dress that offered promise to the traditional and trendsetter, and he had a bold yellow and a bold red suit make their debut for those of us who love a pop of color. While the pieces individually can be pulled apart to make some interesting connections, I would have loved to see more business-skewed formal sets with a bit of street funk on them to show more accessible opportunities for those who work the 9-5. Jersey Shore Recap: Is There a "Ronpage" on the Horizon?

There was one troubling sight on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation this week… … along with many signs of serious trouble on the horizon. But let’s start with the former, shall we? Let’s start with the roommates heading to Las Vegas to watch Vinny Guadagnino take part in Sin City’s most scandalous male striptease show, Chippendales. Poor Vinny, however, ended up spraining his ankle before his month-long residency could begin — and he was petrified of what the show’s producers might say in response. Thankfully, the “Keto Guido” smiled and joked and charmed their socks off like only he can convincing them he would merely stay off the injured foot until he had to go stage. This meant he was bound to a scooter the entire time. Cue the mockery! Pauly D especially went off on his pal for this mode of transportation, while Vinny mom called her son multiple times to check in on him. “Hi, Vin,” Paula said out of extreme concern when he answered the phone. “How you doin’, honey? Oh my God, Vinny. I wanted to kill myself when I saw you on that scooter. Is it still swollen, Vin? Buy the bags of peas.” “Ma, they have ice packs. I don’t need peas,” Vinny responded. “Well, the peas conform to the ankle, that’s why. I swear to God,” she explained. Rolling his eyes, Vinny said the typical son stuff and hung up the phone, only to have her call back moments later. “Buy the bags of the mixed vegetables, anything,” his mom begged, again quite solemnly. While this was all in good fun, Vinny and Pauly were later legitimately concerned about Ronnie’s ongoing erratic behavior. “I haven’t talked to Ronnie since his daughter’s birthday, and I just assumed everything was good because when he’s quiet on social media, there’s nothing,” Pauly said, adding: “Then I know he was in Cabo right now. “And then all of a sudden, he’s posting erratically again. That’s how I know something’s wrong, I just don’t know what’s wrong. I hope he’s okay.” “Me, too,” Vinny replied. “But our instincts are usually right. I wanna sit here and be like, ‘Oh, it’s fine. He turned his life around.’ But we always say that, and then it gets 10 times worse. And that shit is toxic.” That shit, of course, is Ronnie’s romance with Jen Harley . Speaking in his confessional, Pauly made it clear this wasn’t just for show. He’s sincerely worried. “I keep up with Ronnie on social media. That’s how I know what he’s up to. So I check in once in a while, and check that he’s in Mexico. I’m like, ‘Great, alright, he’s with his friends, having a good time.’ “And then he posts a photo of the baby. I’m like, ‘Alright, he wants to show that he’s missing his baby. That’s fine.’ “Then another baby photo, another baby photo. When he posts this, I know something’s wrong.” To their great, these stars approached Ronnie and asked how he was doing. (He checked into rehab early this year for alcoholism and depression .) They didn’t fear the confronation, but they did grow scared over what he had to say. “Me and Jen are good, bro,” Ron said when Pauly asked how his relationship with Harley was going, continuing as follows: “Yeah, we’re good. We haven’t been fighting. Everything’s been going good lately, you know? “Today’s a good day, and that’s all I can worry about. I just — I been good, bro. Just one day at a time, and that’s really all I can do, bro.” Will Jen be stopping by Vegas any time soon? No, Ronnie retorted. “I have my life with her, and I have my life with you guys. I’m just kind of cleaning up my mess at this point from last year, if you wanna just call it that.” Pauly said he understood, yet the whole conversation was so awkward. He later told the camera he wanted to give Ron “the benefit of the doubt because he’s coming out of rehab. Maybe he’s fine. Maybe they’re good. I don’t know. “Listen, he’s my brother at the end of the day. I wanna see his life flourish! I don’t wanna see it turn into a mess. But the past is the past; he keeps reliving it.” After Ronnie exited, Pauly FaceTimed Vinny to let him know what Ron had said about Jen. “I can feel and sense a Ronpage about to happen,” he said ominously. “But I hope I’m wrong.” Nope, man. Kim Kardashian: My Whole Family Is Moving to Wyoming!

It’s hard to think of two geographic locations in America with less in common than Southern California and Wyoming. One is filled with frigid people dressed up like cowboys, totally disconnected from the rest of society … and the other is Wyoming. All kidding aside, the two locales couldn’t be more different in terms of climate, culture, and political leanings. But they have one important thing in common — both serve as playgrounds to the rich and famous. Which is why it’s not really all that surprising that Kim Kardashian and her Trump-loving husband consider the Cowboy State their second home. Kim went on Jimmy Fallon this week, and she revealed that she and Kanye are considering relocating to Wyoming. What’s more, her mom and sisters might join them! “We love Wyoming, it’s always been such an amazing place,” Kim explained. “My husband did just buy a ranch there, and his dream and his vision is to move there.” She actually sounds like she’s on board with Yeezy’s latest stunt. When it comes to the possibility of spending her winters wrapped in a cowhide blanket, however, Kim was a bit more guarded. While she said she was “so excited to maybe be moving to Wyoming”, Kim added that she doesn’t know about moving there “full-time.” “I love LA, so I envision summers, I envision some weekends. But yeah, we love it,” she told Fallon. “It’s like, the prettiest place you’ve seen in your entire life. Even my sisters, everyone, we’ve had this dream of getting a ranch and just spending our summers there and getting away,”  As for the question of when the move might take place — the answer is “probably not as soon as ‘Ye would like.” Kim and Kanye just welcomed their fourth child back in May. On top of that, Kim is working to become a lawyer , so that she further her efforts to secure pardons for non-violent drug offenders serving life sentences. We’re sure Kanye is very eager to play cowboy. But for now, he might just have to put on his Woody from Toy Story costume and pretend. Bear Brown and Raiven Adams: Expecting First Child! AFTER Ending Engagement!

At the end of August, Alaskan Bush People star Bear Brown got engaged to Raiven Adams . Congratulations were in order! But two weeks later, the couple broke off their engagement , deciding to instead remain best friends. That was just days ago. Now, Bear and Raiven have a new announcement: they’re expecting their first child! Bear Brown spoke to People   to share the surprising news. “Raiven and I are excited to share we’re expecting a baby this spring!” Bear gushes. He does acknowledge that Raiven is no longer slated to rule by his side as the Queen of Extreme. “Even though we’re no longer together,” Bear explains. “We’re still friends” “And,” he emphasizes. “Dedicated to raising a healthy and happy child.” “Raiven will be an amazing mom,” Bear raves about his hot model ex-fiancee. He makes a firm vow: “and I will work my hardest to be the best dad I can be!” “Family is everything to me,” Bear affirms. “And,” he expresses. “We appreciate everyone’s support as we figure out our new normal.” Raising a baby with your ex fiancee who is now your best friend is no joke. And who knows what their status will be when Raiven gives birth. Raiven also spoke to People about the surprise. “We’re still in an early stage,” Raiven revealed. “But,” she noted. “We’ve talked a lot about how to make this work and prioritize the baby.” Raiven expresses optimism: “We know the strength of our friendship and support of our families will allow us to raise a happy child.” While she is looking forward to the future, she is already feeling the full force of the pregnancy. “Pregnancy is no joke!” Raiven reminds the world. “I’m not sleeping much,” she laments. “And I’m pretty sick but still feeling very blessed.” Raiven says that she and Bear are eager to learn what sorts of genitals their baby will have “as soon as we can.” But Raiven would still “be thrilled with a boy or girl.” Raiven also made the announcement on Instagram. “Quickly after deciding friendship was best for us!” Raiven begins. “We found out we had a little surprise coming our way.” “After a quick engagement,” she reminds followers. “Because we felt that was the right thing to do.” “We talked about things,” Raiven shares. “And ultimately decided being co parents was best for us as well as our baby.” “We are super excited,” she expresses. “And surprised to announce this especially due to current events.” “We are excited to coparent as friends,” Raiven writes. “And,” she adds, to “do our best to be the best we can be.” “We can’t wait to find out the gender!” she notes. “Being in the earlier stages means a lot of sick and sleepless nights.” “Thats okay,” Raiven concludes, suddenly speaking to her unborn child. “Because you are for sure worth it!” Some would consider this a very early time to announce a pregnancy. Why Black Girls Are Important In Decriminalizing Black People

Source: alvarez / Getty Recently, the National Black Women’s Justice Institute released a list of policy recommendations opposing the criminalization of Black girls. Although Black men and boys are often the center of conversation when it comes to the criminalization of Black people, the current realities for Black girls and women are also grim. NBWJI’s report, entitled “ End School PushOut for Black Girls and Other Girls of Color,” says that according to the U.S. Department of Education Office for Civil Rights Data, Black girls in grades K-12 are seven times more likely to be suspended from school and four times more likely to be arrested on school grounds. These statistics reflect studies from a 2015 report called “Black Girls Matter: Pushed Out, Overpoliced And Underprotected.” The report said that data released by the Department of Education for the 2011–2012 school year showed that while Black males were suspended more than three times as often as their White counterparts, Black girls were suspended six times as often. Only 2 percent of White females faced exclusionary suspensions in comparison to 12 percent of Black girls. In 2019, it seems NBWJI is continuing the work of the 2015 report by acknowledging that punitive practices, such as expulsions or in-school arrests, can increase the risk of girls coming in contact with the juvenile and criminal justice system. With women being the fastest growing prison population , even over men, it’s paramount that Black girls be included in the conversation of decriminalizing Black people. NBWJI released a list of federal, state and local policy recommendations to help prevent the criminalization of Black girls. The recommendations are inclusive of other marginalized groups, such as Black LGBTQ+ youth, and they operate on the principle that if Black girls are centered in the conversation, it could lead to policy that decriminalizes all Black youth. On the federal level, recommendations include policies that support pregnant and parenting students in school districts and post-secondary institutions. Instead of discouraging these students from discontinuing their education, NBWJI suggests programs to support the academic success of these students such as access to quality, affordable child care. Another federal recommendation is increased funding for extracurricular activities that fully integrate girls, transgender, gender non-conforming and non-binary youth (TGNC). Finally, on the federal level, the report calls for the protection of immigrant children by eliminating and preventing the presence of Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers on school grounds. On the state level, the report suggests removing all police from schools and disarming school-based personnel. Instead of money going to law enforcement, they suggest directing it to counselors, social workers and restorative justice programming in schools. On the state and local level, the report calls for alternatives to “zero tolerance” processes. Instead of kicking students out of school via suspensions, expulsions or school-based arrests for subjective minor infractions, the report suggests alternatives like harm reduction, mindfulness and again, more restorative practices. The report especially calls for the end to suspensions and expulsions for pre-K and grades K-2 in favor of strategies to address behavioral problems and to support teachers. Earlier this week, Trace Bates confirmed what many on the Internet had been buzzing over for weeks: Yup, he sure is dating Chaney Grace! The reality star spoke to In Touch Weekly about this romance, making it evident he’s very excited to see where it’s going. “These past 8 months of getting to know each other have been amazing and we look forward to what God has in store for us,” Trace told the  tabloid , going on to detail how the twomet: He says they initially crossed paths in Colorado when their families were on a skiing trip at the same time.
