Ami Brown Cancer Update: What Did We Learn?

Alaskan Bush People viewers were treated to an early Christmas present on Friday night. Following many months off the air, the popular Discovery Channel series aired a special holiday episode over the weekend, one that provided fans with a critical update. We’re talking, of course, about Ami Brown. The family matriarch has been diagnosed with stage four lung cancer and has been undergoing chemotherapy for nearly the entire year. She’s been brutally honest about her condition and her very low odds of long-term survival. On this special installment, however, Ami and her loved ones received some positive news: She is finished with treatment. (Viewers also learned that the Browns relocated from Alaska to southern California in order for Ami to be seen by physicians as UCLA; it had not been known previously exactly where she was being treated.) “There is very single reason to be hopeful and absolutely optimistic,” Dr. Deborah Wong told Ami and Billy on the episode. There’s still a long way for Ami to go, of course, but it’s important to savor every moment in situations such as this. “Life is a gift,” Ami said in response to the doctor’s encouraging words. The family celebrated the good news with a surprise for Ami, as the Brown kids decorated their California house roof-to-foundation and prepared a Christmas dinner. Wearing a Santa hat at one point, Ami was led out of the home by Billy, blindfolded and holding her husband’s hand. Once she saw the garden and how it had been filled with lights and a Christmas tree, Ami could hardly contain her emotion. “The best thing about this Christmas is that mom gets to spend it with us,” daughter Birdy said on camera, adding: “It was looking bad for a while. Having mom here for this Christmas I think is the best gift that we could ever get.” We wish Ami and all the Browns the absolute best during this holiday season. Said Billy of the occasion: “For the Brown family, the meaning of Christmas is all things good… it’s that one time of the year that you really celebrate life. “It’s a time of giving and also receiving love, and kind of a combination of the whole year, right there together.” Prior to this episode and this update, the last we had heard from the Alaskan Bush People regarding Ami’s health was when daughter Rain revealed on Instagram that the family were “hopeful”  as her mom began a second round of chemotherapy. As for the future of the show? This is unimportant compared to Ami’s well-being, of course, but plenty of fans out there remain curious. There’s been talk that the Browns are moving to Colorado for Season 8 , along with chatter over Bam Bam and his girlfriend landing a spinoff. Nothing has been confirmed yet, however. All that really matters right now is that Ami continues to progress and to spend as much time as possible with her loved ones. Matt Damon Gets Dragged by Entire Internet for Sexual Misconduct Comments

Matt Damon is generally considered one of the nicest, least controversial actors in Hollywood. But the star has gone ahead and stuck his typically-genial foot directly into his very handsome mouth. On Wednesday’s episode of ABC News’ Popcorn With Peter Travers, the actor shared his take on the influx of sexual misconduct allegations that continue to hit the entertainment profession. And, in doing so, Damon opened himself up to criticism from… well… pretty much everyone. “I think we’re in this watershed moment,” he said early in the interview, adding: “I think it’s great. I think it’s wonderful that women are feeling empowered to tell their stories – and it’s totally necessary.” There you go. Perfect. Damon could have just stopped there and no one would be talking about him right now. But he didn’t stop there. With sexual misconduct allegations derailing the careers of such stars as Louis CK, Kevin Spacey, Matt Lauer, Mario Batali and MANY others, Damon made many attempts to parse various situations. Referring to a “spectrum of behavior,” he said: “There’s a difference between, you know, patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation, right?” In this case, Damon was citing scandals that have enveloped politicians Al Franken (butt patting) and Roy Moore (alleged child molestation). “Both of those behaviors need to be confronted and eradicated without question, but they shouldn’t be conflated, right?” Damon continued, saying he would have “preferred if they had an Ethics Committee investigation.” However, Damon argued: “We are so energized to kind of get retribution.” Most people would not say anyone is energized to get “retribution” right now. They would say women are energized to speak out against the many times they’ve been wronged; and this should only be applauded. In one of his most dissected and disappointing statements, Damon said: “We live in this culture of outrage and injury, and, you know, we’re going to have to correct enough to kind of go, ‘Wait a minute. None of us came here perfect.'” “You know what I mean?” Not really. One can not be perfect and also know how to treat a woman with respect at all times. Among those who have dragged Damon for his comments is Minnie Driver, who co-starred with the actor in Good Will Hunting. She linked to his controversial interview on Twitter and just wrote “God, God seriously?” Others, meanwhile, have said things like the tweets excerpted above. Damon, who was close to Harvey Weinstein after the producer helped get Good Will Hunting made, dug himself into an even deeper hole when citing individual examples. Admitting he doesn’t “know all the details” about Louis C.K., for example, Damon said the following: “I don’t do deep dives on this, but I did see his statement… “When he came out and said, ‘I did this; I did these things; these women are all telling the truth,’ I just remember thinking, ‘Well, that’s the sign of somebody who…well, we can work with that.'” Ummm…. there are two problems with this argument: CK was accused of pulling out his penis and masturbating in front of many women. Damon could have taken a few easy second to research this online. CK only released his statement AFTER reports came out that basically confirmed these actions. Damon is concerns that “the clearer signal to men and to younger people is [to] deny it, because if you take responsibility for what you did, your life’s going to get ruined. “I mean, look, as I said – all of that behavior needs to be confronted, but there is a continuum.” “And on this end of the continuum where you have rape and child molestation or whatever, you know, that’s prison. Right? That’s what needs to happen. OK?” SIGH . Look, yes, there’s a difference between outright rape and a few misguided comments. No one denies this. But one could argue that a culture that looks past the latter on a continual basis contributes to more of the former because there because a general acceptance of women as nothing but sex objects. Moreover, this just isn’t the time, Matt. There have been too many instances of too much heinous behavior around Hollywood. This isn’t the time to get up on a pedestal and try to teach America about grey areas. But Damon focused on social media in his interview and lamented today’s culture of presumed guilt, saying: “The moment a claim is made… I would be scorched earth.” View Slideshow: Hollywood Sex Scandal: Who’s Been Caught? I’ve worked too hard for it. “And I earned it. You can’t just blow me up like that.'” “Once a claim is made, there will no longer be settlements. That’s my prediction, just based on what I’ve seen.” “Isn’t that a good thing?” Travers countered, noting many female had been unable to share their stories because of nondisclosure agreements. “One hundred percent,” Damon responded, adding that “every woman who’s coming forward with one of these stories needs to be listened to and heard.” Boom. Yes. Done. That’s all you had to say in the first place, Matt Damon. View Slideshow: #MeToo: Stars Share Stories of Sexual Harassment, Assault

Alyssa Milano Destroys Matt Damon Over Sexual Harassment Comments

When it comes to the debate on sexual harassment and misconduct in Hollywood, Alyssa Milano has just made it very clear: She’s the boss. The actress – who has been as responsible as anyone for promoting the #MeToo movement and who has been a vocal supporter of every woman who has recently spoken out – took to Twitter on Friday night and straight up owned Matt Damon. The typically beloved star has been criticized mightily over the past 24 hours. He spoke to Peter Travers of ABC News this week and made far too many attempts to parse the differences between various acts that have gotten men in trouble of late. From Al Franken resigning from the Senate for grabbing the butts of women… to Louis CK admitting he masturbated in front of women… to Matt Lauer being fired for alleged rape and other heinous behavior, countless stars have gotten in major trouble for treating women with disrespect. Asked about this watershed moment in the country, Damon initially told Travers: “I think it’s great. I think it’s wonderful that women are feeling empowered to tell their stories – and it’s totally necessary.” But then he kept going, sticking his foot deeper and deeper into his mouth. “I do believe there’s a spectrum of behavior,” he said, stating the obvious and missing the point of the #MeToo movement. “There’s a difference between patting someone on the butt and rape or child molestation, right? “Both of those behaviors need to be confronted and eradicated without question, but they shouldn’t be conflated.” Minnie Driver, who co-starred with Damon in Good Will Hunting, immediately shook her head over Damon’s comments. “There are so many men I love who do NOT frame the differentiation between sexual misconduct assault and rape as an excuse or worse- our problem. Such bollocks,” Driver Tweeted. But Milano went even further. Focusing especially on Damon’s assertion that men are being punished these days because we live in a “culture of outrage,” the actress took the actor to school. She also explained why rape and the occasional sexist comment may be different, but they contribute to the same thing. “Dear Matt Damon, It’s the micro that makes the macro,” Milano wrote to open her response. Continued Milano: “We are in a ‘culture of outrage’ because the magnitude of rage is, in fact, overtly outrageous. And it is righteous. “I have been a victim of each component of the sexual assault spectrum of which you speak. They all hurt. “And they are all connected to a patriarchy intertwined with normalized, accepted–even welcomed– misogyny.” We really can’t say any of this better than Milano, so we’re just gonna let her keep going… We are not outraged because someone grabbed our asses in a picture. We are outraged because we were made to feel this was normal. We are outraged because we have been gaslighted. We are outraged because we were silenced for so long. There are different stages of cancer. Some more treatable than others. But it’s still cancer. Sexual harassment, misconduct, assault and violence is a systemic disease. The tumor is being cut out right now with no anesthesia. Please send flowers. #MeToo View Slideshow: Hollywood Sex Scandal: Who’s Been Caught? Accused? Fired? BOOM, right? Game, set, match, Alyssa Milano. Most people seem to agree that Damon meant no harm with his comments and that he was just trying to be understanding. The thing is, he was trying to be understanding of the men , not the women . The best thing men can do in this climate right now is simply listen. The worst thing they can do, even the well-intentioned ones? Pretend they know best, as Damon did here.

Here’s Omarosa’s Bizarre Theory On Donald Trump’s Racism

See original here:

N o one loves a press tour like Omarosa Manigault Newman . The reality star is talking to anyone who listen about “resigning” from her position as director of communications for the White House Office of Public Liaison. She has babbled to Inside Edition , Good Morning America and now Nightline . Nightline ‘s Deborah Roberts asked Omarosa, “Does the President understand that a lot of people in minority communities see him as racist?” Omarosa replied, “I can’t speak for what he understands or what he knows.” Deborah pushed further, “Do you think this President is racist?” Omarosa answered, “Absolutely not. I would never sit or work with someone who I believed to be a racist.” When it came to Donald Trump’s vile handling of Charlottesville, Virginia, Omarosa said she was “absolutely” concerned when he said they were fine people in a group of Neo-Nazis. She then explained, “Donald Trump is racial ,  but he is not a racist . Yes, I would acknowledge many of the exchanges, particularly in the last six months, have  been racially charged. Do we then just stop and label him as a racist? No.” Omarosa clearly doesn’t understand, Trump’s racism has been evident long before the tragedy in Charlottesville, Virginia. There was his five-year racist rant that President Obama was not born in this country, calling for the execution of five Black teenagers wrongfully accused of assaulting a White woman, housing discrimination lawsuits  and much more. Not to mention, his father Fred Trump was arrested at a KKK rally in 1927 . Either Omarosa is delusional or a liar. Farrah Abraham SLAMMED for Using Her Daughter’s Twitter Account to Promote Porn!

So hey, you know how a lot of people hate Farrah Abraham? How they think she’s one of the worst humans of all time and she should be kicked off Teen Mom (and perhaps also the planet) forever? Here’s why. Farrah gets more hate than other Teen Mom train wrecks like Jenelle Evans and Amber Portwood because she has literally never been likable. She’s always been abrasive and rude and self-centered, and it seems like all that gets worse every single day. Remember when she told her mother that she wish she’d die already and then gifted her with a noose on Marriage Boot Camp? Or how about the time that she plucked her daughter’s eyebrows when she was just a toddler? And if those things don’t get you raging, then what about all the racism ? What we’re getting at is that Farrah is deeply terrible, and though it’s true that she clearly has issues and though we know she’s been through terrible things, it’s still not enough to excuse the kinds of things she’s been doing. Like, pretty much nothing could excuse the way she just used her kid’s Twitter account to promote porn. OK, so that’s the tweet we’re talking about today. It was published from Sophia’s official Twitter account yesterday afternoon, and as of now, it still hasn’t been deleted. That first link, the Many Vids one, will take you directly to a porn site, and then the YouTube link leads to a preview of a little video Farrah did in which she applies lip gloss in a sensual way. Thankfully someone with some sense went in and deleted the YouTube video — which, by the way, was posted on Farrah’s account and reposted on Sophia’s YouTube channel. But the tweet itself remains. Obviously this is terrible, right? Most of Sophia’s Twitter account consists of videos of toy reviews, posts about her children’s boutique, or Teen Mom retweets. To see just some straight up porn grouped in with all that is jarring, to say the least. Her Twitter bio specifically says that “this account is solely owned and operated by an adult,” but the fact remains that it’s Sophia’s online presence promoting porn. It’s really pretty disgusting, and most of Twitter agreed. “Don’t have your kids out here looking like this,” one person replied to the tweet. “We all got our hustle but do this on your page. Keep your daughter safe and in a kids place. Who is this ad even for? It’s not a good look for you your daughter or porn.” “This…. This is disturbing,” another person wrote. “I support what you do but I can’t support this. Sophia is a child and this shouldn’t be posted from her Twitter or YouTube. How inappropriate.” One of Many Vids’ very own cam girls also took issue with this, tweeting “This is a minors account and there is a link to a porn website? Really? Really? @ManyVids PLEASE do something about this. I work for you and don’t want to be associated with a minor.” View Slideshow: Farrah Abraham: My Daughter is DONE With Teen Mom OG! These are all excellent points — this isn’t a good look, it is disturbing and inappropriate, and someone needs to do something about it, that’s for sure. And hey, right now feels like as good a time as any to remind everyone that Farrah pulled Sophia out of school so she could be solely responsible for her education and development. No wonder so many people despise her.
