I remember thinking, oh my god, I might be overdosing right now.” 5. This Was the Last Time She Drank: “I invited 2 random people and basically just drank with them. I got really really drunk until it was time to get on a flight and I was so drunk that I threw up in the back of the car service on the way to the airport to perform on American Idol. I felt like that was a moment in my career where I didn’t care. I just knew that I needed to be high to get through what I was going through at that point.” 6. It Was On to a Sober Living Facility She retired here every night after judging The X Factor. Said her manager in the documentary of this experience: “She’s having to do chores. In case any of you have forgotten that Farrah Abraham came from somewhere — she hasn’t just always been around, like the moon or the specter of death — she got her start on the Teen Mom franchise. And she’s still a part of it. During a Teen Mom 2 special, Farrah reunites with her ex, Simon Saran. Basically, MTV thought that she’d be more entertaining if she plays off of Simon. And she was right. The special was titled “Being Simon,” which is a weird moment to all Simons who live in places where the name is unusual and are therefore accustomed to that name referring only to them. (Trust me; I would know) Lately, Farrah’s been getting the attention that she craves for very different things. For instance, Farrah’s been slammed for bad parenting yet again, because her photos of her daughter — cute though they may be — serve as a reminder that she homeschools Sophia. That’s not the way to give your kid a fair start at life. And Farrah Abraham’s vaginal rejuvenation treatments are either a case of the world’s worst choice of celebrity spokespeople or the world’s most desparate case of someone craving attention and not caring if it’s negative. (It’s probably a little of both) And, oh by the way, Farrah Abraham did a livestream sex show where she bared her breasts and then masturbated for all the world (well, anyone willing to pay) to see. Which is a totally fine thing to do — sex work is work, and it’s valid — but we get the feeling that the motivation behind it had to do with, again, the negative attention that Farrah seems to crave by any means. But, hey, a sex show is immeasurably better than another Farrah Abraham racist outburst . Compared to all of those adventures in bad publicity, Farrah Abraham’s Teen Mom 2 special with Simon Saran wasn’t an unending thrill-ride. But that’s not to say that it was uneventful . During the former couple’s trip to San Francisco, Simon Saran expressed an interest in rekindling their former romance. “I still want to date you; I love you.” You’d think that Farrah would have talked about how he’d failed to show her respect during their relationship. Instead, she went with a different angle. “Then maybe you shouldn’t be weird with other people and call them ‘babe’ and hug them and take pictures with other people.” One, that sounds super specific. Two, which part of that is bad, exactly? Is he not allowed to hug people? Farrah laid down some rules for Simon if he wants to crawl back into her good graces, romantically speaking. “You cannot interact with other girls who are like basic b–ches.” It’s not every day that you hear someone say “basic b–ches” unironically. Simon defended himself: “I did it right in front of you because it was innocent.” Why does he want to get back with her, exactly? Farrah wasn’t down to reunite with Simon Saran in that capacity, even though he’s boasted of his endowment (the surest sign of insecurity). But she was willing to learn more about his culture. He’s a Punjabi Sikh. Simon Saran cautioned her: “You’re going to smell like curry.” Well, that’s not a bad thing. Curry smells amazing. Farrah Abraham talked about how she can “relate” to the immigrant community. “I relate to immigrants and working hard and my grandad showed me what hard work was.” Immigration involves so much more than that. There’s a blending of cultures, and sometimes there’s culture shock. There’s leaving one’s friends and family. There’s being regarded with suspicion or dislike in your new home. But … we’re not exactly shocked that Farrah made it all about herself. And remember, we’re talking about Farrah and Simon, so their talk turned to things that one should never discuss. In this case, flatulence . Ugh. After Farrah chastized him for his flatulence, Simon responded: “Your farts are worse than mine.” Farrah denied it, saying: “I have never farted.” That’s obviously not true, but can we all pretend that their exchange never happened? Thanks. In the background for a lot of this, Farrah and Simon were working together on “business.” By which we mean that Simon Saran was flipping houses and Farrah Abraham was also there. She may have, at some point, dunked a basketball with Simon’s assistance. But don’t get your hopes up of these two becoming a couple again, folks. G entrification in the nation’s capital continues to displace more of the city’s longtime African-American residents, as the Black population in the District of Columbia has fallen below 50 percent for the first time in decades. The average net worth of a White household is $284,000 compared to just $3,500 for Black households. There’s also a huge gap in median annual incomes: Whites at $120,000 and Blacks at $41,000. That’s not surprising because half of the new jobs in the district’s economy require at least a bachelor’s degree. Only 12 percent of Blacks in the city were college graduates in 2014, the study noted. Consequently, White residents can pay more for houses and apartments, which is driving up costs and reducing available affordable housing. Many of these inequalities stem from a history of discrimination that pushed the district’s Black residents to the fringes of the economy, the study said. Historic discriminatory practices range from segregated schools to redlining, in which banks refused to lend money to Black entrepreneurs and home buyers. Creating opportunities for Black-owned businesses is one key solution. The report urges the D.C. Chamber of Commerce and city agencies to build a database of minority businesses and do more to help them thrive. Local universities can also play a role by offering courses on business development. In a series of now deleted tweets, the Food Network host shared that she once reported a former who has sexually harassed her, saying ‘she’ was brave for turning him in while the women who followed suit afterwards were not ‘brave’ at all. “When I reported my 1st radio boss for sexual harassment, I felt brave,” she wrote late Saturday night. “The 4 co-workers that came out AFTER me were not brave to me…at all.” Sunny went on to judge her fellow victims, writing “In fact I blamed them and still do for not being BRAVE and reporting him before he had a chance to make one more victim.” She then went on to draw a comparison between her former coworkers and Weinstein’s accusers, saying, “So, as all these women come out of the woodwork…ask yourself… were they complicit in their silence? Complicit when taking payoffs?” she asked. “I refuse to call the 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 10th person to come out and say, “me too”, BRAVE. Over the past two weeks, there’s been a good deal of speculation about Ben Affleck’s sobriety . To bring you up to speed, Affleck checked into rehab back in March to seek treatment for an alcohol addiction he’d been battling on and off for over a decade. Over the summer, however, Ben appeared to relapse and was spotted drinking with girlfriend Lindsay Shookus on multiple occasions. Now, sources say Affleck is in outpatient therapy for further treatment, and is once again intent on staying sober. Shookus is a producer for Saturday Night Live, and sources close to the couple tell People magazine that Ben was on hand at 30 Rockefeller Center to support Lindsay over the weekend. Witnesses note, however, that the Oscar winner was not on hand for the weekly after-party, likely as a result of his efforts to abstain from drinking. So our congratulations go out to Ben for two reasons today: Not only does he appear to be recommitted to his own sobriety, he also his position of power to condemn the repugnant actions of disgraced mogul Harvey Weinstein. As you’ve no doubt heard, Weinstein stands accused of sexually assaulting numerous women over the course of the past thirty years. Weinstein was instrumental in the production and distribution of Good Will Hunting , the film that made household names of Affleck and friend Matt Damon. But despite his longstanding ties to Weinstein, Affleck castigated the disgraced 64-year-old in a scathing social media post: “I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades,” Affleck wrote. “The additional allegations of assault that I read this morning made me sick. This is completely unacceptable, and I find myself asking what I can do to make sure this doesn’t happen to others,” the actor continued. It’s been rumored that Affleck’s statement was a response to a tweet from one of Weinstein’s alleged victims, actress Rose McGowan, who urged Ben and his brother Casey to speak out against their friend and former mentor. We may never know for certain if McGowan played a role in convincing Ben to speak out, but the important thing is that Affleck took a stand against Weinstein’s vile behavior. It’s been a rough year for Ben, what with a high-profile divorce, public struggle with addiction, and rumors of career difficulties. Over the past several days, Hollywood has been rocked by an ever-growing scandal centered around Harvey Weinstein . The long-time movie producer was revealed by The New York Times last week to be a serial sexual harasser, as the newspaper revealed eight past instances in which Weinstein paid off alleged victims in exchange for the silence. Since then, Weinstein has basically admitted to many of the charges… issued a bizarre apology … been fired by the company he helped build… … and been accused of rape by seven different women . It’s an ugly, ugly, UGLY situation. However, if any silver lining can come out of this controversy, it’s the exposure of sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry and how so many women have disgusting stories to tell. Numerous actresses have been coming forward of late with statements about their own sordid past with Weinstein and/or with some other high-powered male who put them in an awkward (at best) circumstance. Enough of this behavior is enough – and perhaps this bombshell of a report will help curb such gross behavior. But Terry Crews wants the public to know that women aren’t the only victims. He was once groped by a Hollywood executive. “This whole thing with Harvey Weinstein is giving me PTSD. Why? Because this kind of thing happened to ME,” the Brooklyn 99 star wrote as the first of many Tweets outlining what happened to him. We’ll just let the actor take it from here.
