Tami Ever After: Tami Roman Lands ‘Basketball Wives’ Spinoff Show

Tami Roman is finally getting the spin-off show she’s been talking about for years, and a whole lot more. It was announced this week by Deadline that the 49-year-old reality star and actress has signed an overall deal with Mona Scott-Young and her Monami Productions, which is behind the Love and Hip Hop  franchises, to develop and produce both scripted and “alternative” content. The first project in that lucrative deal is Roman’s reality special, Tami Ever After . It premieres Wednesday, June 19 at 9 p.m. after the premiere of Season 8 of Basketball Wives,  which Tami is also on. The special will follow Tami, longtime love and now husband Reggie Youngblood, and the blending of her daughters and his family from Houston. It will also take us through Reggie’s efforts to get Tami to marry him. SEE ALSO:  Surprise! Both women are committed to putting the spotlight on Houston, where Tami and her family mainly reside. Source: RunPhoto / Getty Man Accuses Doctor Of Leaving 57-Inch Wire In His Body Fourteen Years Ago So one Las Vegas man unknowingly had a whole a$$ metal wire in his body, and now he wants to hold the responsible parties accountable. According to Las Vegas Review-Journal , German “OT” Ortiz lived for a decade without knowing a 57-inch metal wire was running through his body. When a doctor told him in 2015 that he needed surgery to clear blood clots, an X-ray showed the wire stretching down his aorta, from his chest to his thigh, according to his attorney James Jimmerson. Ortiz’s lawyers are now asking a jury to award him upward of $800,000 from Mark Taylor, the cardiologist who did a 2005 angioplasty, and Heart Center of Nevada, the company he runs. Ortiz is a 70-year-old man who serves as a youth pastor at Cornerstone Christian Academy and Preschool. A year ago, medical professionals removed two-thirds of the wire inside him for a heart procedure, according to Jimmerson. Now, more than 20 inches remain in his thigh. Ortiz experienced this whole fiasco when he was rushed to the University Medical Center emergency room 14 years ago after experiencing shortness of breath. Doctors explained that he had congestive heart failure and required an angiogram, according to the lawsuit, which was filed in 2016. In an angiogram procedure, a catheter is inserted through the bloodstream to spread a dye that lets doctors take photographs of blood vessels, Jimmerson explained to jurors, holding a sample of a wire used to keep the catheter stiff. In Ortiz’s situation, when the catheter was removed, a guide wire remained in his body, according to the suit. The suit alleges medical malpractice, negligent infliction of emotional distress, professional negligence, negligent hiring, training and supervision, and loss of consortium. Mark Taylor’s lawyer, Patricia Daehnke, argues that another doctor must have left the wire inside Ortiz, claiming that Taylor was never informed that the guide wire had been lost. “Dr. Taylor met the standard of care and in no way was negligent or un-careful in his cardiology,” she said, pointing to notes from the procedure Taylor carried out. “We’re not here to pin responsibility on Dr. Taylor. We’re here to present the evidence to you.” Jimmerson asked jurors to hold Taylor and his company accountable for causing “pain, anxiety and the probability of future surgery for blood clots.” “A doctor must pay careful attention during a procedure,” Jimmerson said. “If a doctor does not pay careful attention during a procedure, the doctor is responsible for the injuries caused.”

Step, the start-up company, is developing an app that will give young adults access to bank accounts with no minimum balance, no fees, and advice on how to manage the money inside of it. The app will also integrate with Apple Pay and other online money-moving apps, along with giving parents the option to monitor the account while setting limits and guidelines. Step CEO and co-founder CJ MacDonald explained why this app is so necessary, saying, “Schools don’t teach kids about money. We want to be their first bank accounts with spending cards, but we also want to teach financial literacy and responsibility.” He continued,  “Banks don’t tailor to this, and we want to be a solution teaching the next generation of adults to be more responsible with money in the cashless era. It was easy with cash to go to the mall but now everyone is using their phone for Uber and more.” Mastercard’s Sherri Haymond praised the new idea in a press release, also noting how it would incorporate new avenues of financial literacy to account for changes in the way that people access their money–like the aforementioned Apple Pay and other similar technology. “Today’s young people are digitally savvy, having grown up with technology as a mainstay in their day-to-day lives. As a result, we also need to ensure that they become familiar with the unique aspects of digital payments including providing education about the various finance and payment products available,” Haymond said. “Step has taken a thoughtful approach to developing an offering for teens and families that provides that first step in educating and acclimating today’s youth to help them gain confidence and awareness around their finances.” Both Nas and Will Smith know first hand how important it is to get your children equipped with the right tools early, and that’s exactly what this app aims to do.

Kody Brown, Sister Wives Face Further Financial Frustration

Kody Brown and his four sister wives thought they’d found paradise when they decided to move the whole family to Flagstaff, Arizona . But paradise came with its share of troubles. In addition to the usual drama and fueds, the polygamous family has struggled financially ever since the move. The struggle got even more intense this month, as even more interest piles up on the Browns’ unpaid property taxes. Last year, Kody spent $820,000 on a 15-acre plot of land in Flagstaff.  This is a huge amount of space, even if you do have four wives and 18 children. The property is divided into four parcels, each requiring separate payments. Arizona law forbids polygamous co-habitation. Because of this, the plan was to build several houses on the property.  This way the family could keep each other close and hopefully avoid breaking that pesky law. But, as a  Radar Online report reveals, the plan has encountered major setbacks. A year later, the Browns have yet to break ground on a single house, and they still owe property taxes that were due in December. According to  Radar Online , tax payments are only past due on two of the four plots. Kody, Christine and Robyn own one plot together, and initially failed to pay the amount of $2,063.70. After the latest round of interest, they now owe $2,201.28 The second plot is co-owned by Kody (again), Janelle and Meri. They originally owed $1,990.82, but now that’s increased to $2,123.54,  Radar Online reports. That’s a total of $4,324.82 just to get caught up on taxes. And obviously, it’s going to cost a lot more than that to build multiple houses for the Browns’ enormous family. To make matters worse,  Radar Online now claims that the family hasn’t received any payment for Christine Brown’s former house in Las Vegas. Prior reports seemed to indicate the family had found a buyer, but the house is still listed on the market for the lowest price yet, $574,990. Meri’s Las Vegas house also failed to sell, even after multiple price cuts. Ultimately, it was taken off the market. That must be disappointing for the Browns, who were counting on adding another half a million dollars to their housing budget in Arizona. But we have a hunch that Meri might find having a back-up house useful when she finally decides she’s had enough of Kody and the other wives. Over the past year, it’s been rumored, and even apparent on the show, that Meri isn’t feeling the love anymore. Fans believes that she  may leave the flock . Meanwhile, the many stars of Sister Wives are paying rent on no fewer than four separate dwellings  and  a commercial building in Flagstaff.  That’s an incredibly expensive feat for a family that’s already pressed for funds.  (Moving isn’t cheap, folks) It all makes one wonder if perhaps this move wasn’t very thoroughly thought out.  But the news isn’t all bad. A new season of Sister Wives has begun filming, which means more money is on the way for the Brown family.  Will it be enough to square up the taxes, build several homes and feed 18 children? Will the whole family even stick around to find out? It’s too early to say, but it’s clear that Kody and the Sister Wives may have bitten off more than they can chew. Jersey Shore Season 3 Trailer: "Oh Yeah! Weddings! Yeah!"

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is getting set to expand its family. In our very first look at the third season of this MTV revival, the cable network tells fans to speak now… … or forever pump your fist. This is a reference to Mike Sorrentino's wedding, which took place in late October and which will be a focal point of at least the new season premiere. “Oh yeah, weddings yeah!” Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio enthusiastically and hilariously declares in this trailer. Meanwhile, a tuxedo-clad The Situation poses with his dapper groomsmen in the promo — while Snooki and Jenni Farley throw petals down the aisle and gush over the bride. There's no footage here of Lauren Pesce herself, but there's a whole lot of excitement flowing around and around between the veteran colleagues and close friends. At one point, Mike rides a horse. At another, Snooki screams loudly on a boat.  “I believe it’s too late to turn back now,” Mike says about getting hitched, which he did just a few weeks before going to jail for tax evasion. Jersey Shore: Family Vacation is a spinoff of the original Jersey Shore, a series that ran from 2009 through 2012. It catches up with he original Seaside Heights cast a decade after we first met them as a bunch of wild and crazy party-goers and drama-creators. They still stir up plenty of the latter, but most of the stars are now married and/or have their own children, with Snooki having just given birth to a boy . Who ever would have thought just a few years back, right? As for the upcoming third season? Delvecchio, Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, Snooki, Sorrentino, Angelina Pivarnick and Deena Nicole Cortese will all return for another go-around. It sounds as if we'll also see a lot of Ronnie's violent occasional girlfriend, Jen Harley, despite her recent arrest . Season 3 will also give us a glimpse at how the roommates deal with Sorrentino's jail sentencing and his subsequent time served behind bars. Reads the official press release: The roommates may be back, but a lot has changed, as the squad rallies around Mike, who’s facing prison time and planning a wedding. At the same time, Deena’s about to give birth, Jenni’s contemplating divorce, Ronnie’s fed up with all the jokes at his expense, and Pauly can’t resist just one wedding prank.  Through the challenges and fears, pranks and surprise wedding guests, it’s the humor that keeps this group together and proves that facing life’s twists and turns is easier with friends.
