Tyler Perry Defends Kim Kardashian Kasting as "Responsible"

Kim Kardashian has been cast in a Tyler Perry movie titled The Marriage Counselor . Even if she isn’t playing the title role, come on, that’s hilarious. But not to the mega producer himself. He doesn’t really get the humor behind this selection, even after Kim filed for divorce 72 days after wedding Kris Humphries. And even though, you know, she cannot act. “She literally has millions of young people following her,” Perry wrote on his official website. “I thought and still do think, that it would be very responsible of her to be a part of this film… If one of those young people see this film and find the strength to live a better life and not go through what these characters went through in this movie, then we have all done what I feel I’m being led to do here.” Decent point, Ty. But do those followers really need Kim to star in a movie in order to use her life story as a cautionary tale? Asked Perry: “Because I believe that my films speak from the inside out, why wouldn’t Kim Kardashian be invited into a film about Faith, Forgiveness and the healing power of God?” We’re just guessing here… but maybe because she has no soul? Watch Jennifer Lopez Recycle the Love Potion No. 9 Plot in Her New ‘Papi’ Music Video

Aside from providing a cautionary tale about why you should never build a feature-length movie around a doo-wop song, there has never been any use for Sandra Bullock’s 1992 flop Love Potion No. 9 . Until today — because its plot has apparently inspired Jennifer Lopez’s first post-break-up music video “Papi.” Tate Donovan, this could be the pop culture relevance you’ve been waiting for.

Anderson Cooper Ridicules Kate Gosselin Over Pizza Tirade

CNN’s Anderson Cooper weighed in on some recent misbehavior by Kate Gosselin last night, and, well, it was certainly worthy of The Ridiculist. On Monday’s episode of Kate Plus 8, which has been mercifully canceled by TLC and ends its run next week, Kate FREAKED over a slice of pizza. Like, for real freaked. Anderson Cooper on Kate Gosselin On a cross-country trip with her kids, a babysitter and bodyguard Steve Neild, Kate lost her $h!t on nanny Ashley for not saving Steve the final slice. Cooper found Gosselin ridiculous – and didn’t hold back. “It is a cautionary tale,” he said last night. “If you somehow, against all odds, find a woman who’s willing to help you take eight kids on a cross-country road trip, for goodness sake, let her divide the pizza any way she wants.” It got worse. After Kate Gosselin demanded that her eight children “eat salads” and give Steve the final slice of pizza, one of the children handed it to him. “That’s disgusting!” she screamed. “Why didn’t you wrap it in foil?” Cooper then quipped: “Middle-aged bodyguards can get pretty cranky if their routine is thrown off: You know, lunch, juice box, pinkie, nap.” The babysitter quit, unable to take another minute of Kate, who was left alone with Cara, Mady, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel. And Steve Neild, who she may or may not be sleeping with. She seemed awfully fired up about her man getting that piece of pizza. Just saying. Or she could just be a raging banshee bitch. Who’s to say.

Madonna Loathes Hydrangeas, Obviously

Madonna really likes Brahim Zaibat . Hydrangeas? Not so much. Right before a press event for her new film W.E. at the Venice Film Festival, a fan presented the Queen of Pop with a branch of blossoming purple hydrangea. Madonna thanked the fan, but didn’t realize she was being taped when she quickly put the thing under the table, leaned over to some unknown person and said: “I absolutely loathe hydrangeas. He obviously doesn’t know that.” Madonna Loathes Hydrangeas For real. Consider this a cautionary tale brought to you by THG and whoever filmed this incident. Don’t make this same mistake, fans. You’ve been warned.

‘Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark’ Is Guillermo Del Toro’s ‘Hide And Seek’

‘That’s the rhythm of the movie in a horror genre,’ director tells MTV News. By Deborah Kim, with reporting by Kara Warner Guillermo del Toro Photo: Andrew H. Walker/ Getty Images It’s a cautionary tale straight out of a mother’s mouth: “If you don’t brush your teeth, monsters will creep into your mouth at night and devour them like candy.” But Guillermo del Toro’s rated-R version is less cavity, more cryptic. Based on a 1973 TV movie with the same name, Friday’s “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” starring Katie Holmes and Guy Pearce, features the same hollow whispers from menacing monsters trapped behind brick fireplaces, only now those creatures are out for innocent, bright-white baby teeth. But even with del Toro’s new spin on what he said was the scariest movie he’d ever seen as a kid, the producer told MTV News some things always stay the same. “In horror films, there are only two dynamics. One is what I call hide and seek, meaning there’s a lot of tension. If you’re searching, you’re really tense about opening the door and somebody jumping out of the closet that was hiding. “And if you’re hiding in the closet, you’re really afraid when you hear footsteps nearby,” he added. “And then tag, when the person finally comes out, and you’re going to chase them to tag them.” With a mind as complicated and fantastical as Pan’s Labyrinth, you’d expect del Toro to have a more intricate stream of thought. But the method behind his moviemaking is simply, well, simple. “I do sort of a tag, hide and seek, hide and seek, hide and seek, tag, tag, tag,” he explained. “So that’s the rhythm of the movie in a horror genre. You just pace it like that.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .

Ryan Gosling Calls ‘Blue Valentine’ A ‘Cautionary Tale’ For Couples

‘People can see the film and can see themselves in it or say, ‘How do we keep that from happening?’ ‘ he tells MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by: Josh Horowitz Ryan Gosling Photo: MTV News We already know Ryan Gosling thinks his latest film, “Blue Valentine,” is a “nice companion piece” to his 2004 romantic drama “The Notebook.” And this is despite “Valentine” having much darker, more sexually charged elements and some MPAA ratings drama . But we wanted to know, given the film’s edgier theme, is it detrimental or beneficial for a couple to see together? “I think it’s the best thing for a couple to see, honestly. I’m not just trying to sell the movie,” Gosling insisted when MTV News caught up with him. “Well, I am trying to hawk the movie,” he laughed, adding that he thinks it’s good for couples to see and experience together, since it will prompt discussion or that it may bring to light existing problems in a relationship that the couple could be trying to ignore. “If there is a problem in their relationship, they’re not able to look at it, and they’re caught in their own experience of it, there’s no dialogue about any of the bigger issues,” Gosling explained. “I think [‘Blue Valentine’ is] a cautionary tale about what can happen to love if you ignore it and you take it for granted.” He went on to say that, because the film highlights the “nitty-gritty” of what it takes to sustain a romantic relationship, it will get couples talking. “I think that people can see the film and can see themselves in it or say, ‘How do we keep that from happening?’ ” Check out everything we’ve got on “Blue Valentine.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com .
