Nipsey Hussle Funeral Features Tribute from Barack Obama, So Many Tears

Nipsey Hussle was laid to rest in a public and emotional memorial on Thursday morining. Referred to as a Celebration of Life for the late rapper – who was shot to death outside his clothing store on March 31 – the event was held at Staples Center and, following a processional, Hussle was buired in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced on April 4 that Eric Ronald Holder Jr. was charged with fatally shooting Hussle and wounding two others in Los Angeles. Holder allegedly walked up to Hussle, shot him twice, realized he was still alive after Nipsey actually spoke to him … and then turned around, shot Hussle in the head and then ran away to a getaway vehicle. But this memorial was not about mourning Hussle. It was about honoring a life spent making music and inspiring others, as Hussle was dedicated to making the dangerous streets on which he was raised safe for current future generations at the time he was killed. Former President Barack Obama was not in attendance at the service, but he did pen a message to Hussle’s loved ones. It was read aloud and this is what it said: I’d never met Nipsey Hussle, but I’d heard some of his music through my daughters, and after his passing, I had the chance to learn more about his transformation and his community work. While most folks look at the Crenshaw neighborhood where he grew up and see only gangs, bullets, and despair, Nipsey saw potential. He saw hope. He saw a community that, even through its flaws, taught him to always keep going. His choice to invest in that community rather than ignore it — to build a skills training center and a coworking space in Crenshaw; to lift up the Eritrean-American community; to set an example for young people to follow — is a legacy worth of celebration. I hope his memory inspires more good work in Crenshaw and communities like it Michelle and I send our sympathies to Lauren, Emani, Kross, and the entire Asghedom family and to all those who loved Nipsey. Elsewhere, Stevie Wonder sang “Rocket Love” and “Tears in Heaven” — and also gave a speech about the importance of taking action to change the gun laws in America. “It is a heartbreak to again lose a member of our family. It’s a heartbreak because it’s so unnecessary,” the legendary artist said, adding: “We, to be a civilized nation, civilized world, we are still living in a time where ego, anger, jealousy, is controlling our lives. It is so painful to know that we don’t have enough people taking a position that say, ‘Listen, we must have stronger gun laws.’ It’s unacceptable.” Wonder concluded: “It’s almost like the world is becoming blind. I pray that we will grow. I pray that the leaders who have a responsibility to perpetuate life will do it by making sure that the laws will make it so very hard for people to have guns and to take their frustrations out to kill life… “I hope that it motivates us enough to say, ‘Enough of people being killed by guns and violence.’ “I hope that we don’t just talk about it but we be about it — make a difference for our future.” Finally, and perhaps most emotionally, Lauren London addressed attendees. The actress had been dating Hussle for five years at the time of his murder and has a two-year old child with the late Grammy nominee. “Never would I prepare for something like this so bear with me, all,” the 34-year-old actress told the crowd of 21,000 in the Staples Center. She continued through tears: “You’re still the coolest guy in the world to me. Still! I love you so much. Unconditionally. My truth is this. I’m never going to give up on you. My loyalty and devotion is to you.” London later shared a text message she wrote to Hussle after watching him sleep one morning and added: “I’ve never felt this type of pain before but I know that God is alive but bear with me all,” as she read another passage of words she had put together for the memorial… “His soul was majestic. He was the strongest man that I ever knew. A gentle father, a patient leader, a divine light. He was brilliant. He researched everything, completely self-taught, constantly seeking knowledge.” Speaking of their son Kross, London grew emotional at the thought of her toddler growing up without his father. “My pain is from a 2-year-old that probably won’t remember how much his dad loved him,” she said. “This is something that I don’t really understand but I know Ermias always used to say that you can’t possess people; that you experience them. I’m so honored and blessed to experience such a man.” London concluded her speech with one of Hussle’s most well-known phrases. “In Hussle words, because he always used to say this: The game is going to test you but never fold, stay 10 toes down. It’s not on you, it’s in you and what’s in you they can’t take away. He’s in all of us.” May he rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam

Nipsey Hussle Memorial Will Feature Heavy Security To Avoid Issues

Source: Tim Mosenfelder / Getty The family, friends, and supporters of Nipsey Hussle will be gathered to celebrate the life of the popular rapper and businessman. According to a new report, the venue will be heavily guarded to avoid a breakout of issues that occurred last week during a vigil for Hussle. TMZ reports : Sources familiar with Nipsey’s Celebration of Life at the Staples Center arena this Thursday tell us there will be an abundance of security from multiple agencies and organizations — all with the intention of keeping the memorial peaceful and drama-free. We’re told security on hand Thursday will feature a mix of muscle — from members of the LAPD, members of the Nation of Islam, as well as Staples Center personnel. Our sources say the LAPD is only on hand to offer assistance … helping to move traffic, keep the peace and to step in if needed. The reason for such a strong presence … our sources say a big part of it has to do with Nipsey’s family’s wishes in wanting to prevent further violence — especially in the wake of the chaos that broke out at Nipsey’s L.A. vigil last week … which cops now say left 2 people shot. According to a search warrant — obtained by TMZ — cops are still on the hunt for the person who allegedly pulled the trigger with the intent of killing others. A possible added danger to Thursday’s ceremony. Hopefully, Nipsey Hussle’s homegoing ceremony goes off without a hitch. — Photo: Getty

Amy Schumer Cancels Tour Amidst Pregnancy Struggles: I Am Vomiting ALL The Time!

Amy Schumer is hitting cancel on her stand-up comedy tour.  But for good reasons.  The pregnant comedian announced that she must take time to focus on her “health and the baby,” according to E! . Amy took to Instagram on Friday evening to share the news with her fans where she admitted that she is embarrassed for canceling. “I hate letting people down and I love stand-up and money!” she began her post, which she wrote in her Notes app. The show is called off due to complications from hyperemesis, which is basically just severe nausea and constant vomiting during pregnancy.   She (over)shares, “I vomit mostly every time I ride in a car even for five minutes.”   The  I Feel Pretty  actress is in her third trimester, so it is natural that she needs some time off of the stage and in her bed.  “Due to complications from hyperemesis I am not cleared to fly for the next couple of weeks,” she continued. “I am going to cancel the remainder of my tour. Refunds are available at point of purchase.” She went on to explain that she and the baby are healthy and that everything looks good.  Adding, “I have a pretty good attitude about it and some days I feel good for a couple hours. But mostly it sucks. I wanted to push through and do my shows.” The mom-to-be and her husband Chris Fischer are expecting their first child  this coming spring.  Last October, Amy shared the exciting news in a very unusual way on her friend Jessica Yellin’s Instagram account. She wrote, “I’m pregnant – Amy Schumer,” on a list of her candidate recommendations for the 2018 upcoming midterm elections. Her pregnancy announcement came about 8 months after marrying the 38-year-old chef in a secret wedding in Malibu . Which Jennifer Larence, Jake Gyllenhaal and Judd Apatow allegedly attended, according to E ! Some of Amy’s other “well-known” friends are helping her through her struggling fertility journey. Gwenyth Paltrow commented on Amy’s post saying “You are almost there! It will be so worth it, I swear!!” and Jennifer Garner stated, “You are a soldier.” And while we’re sure It wasn’t an easy decision to end her tour, we just hope the best for her health and future baby Schumer.  Besides, there are plenty more shows to be had and money to be made for the 37-year-old entertainer.  View Slideshow: Amy Schumer Wedding Photos: Here Comes the Hilarious Bride!

Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra Share First Photo of ADORABLE New Baby!

Teen Mom has a lot of drama. Just so, so much drama. On the show, we see breakups, fights, custody battles, abuse accusations, arrests, serious health struggles … it's a lot. But the one thing we can always count on is that there are some cute kids on the show. And just a couple of days ago, Catelynn and Tyler added one more kid to the crew! 1. A Cause for Celebration! She’s here, everybody! Catelynn and Tyler’s little bitty baby girl is here! 2. Bittersweet? It’s still kind of a weird situation, considering that they were separated not too long ago. 3. A Long Story A whole lot of stuff happened. You remember. 4. Recap! But just in case you need a refresher, the last time Catelynn was pregnant was in the fall of 2017. She had a miscarriage, she became suicidal after, and she spent six weeks in rehab, came home for a bit, then went back for six more weeks. 5. The Struggle Tyler was very supportive at first, but the rehab was all the way in Arizona, and the second time she wanted to go, he had a hard time understanding why she couldn’t just do therapy at home. 6. Uh Oh And when she went back anyway and started telling about how she was skipping the actual treatment stuff to stay up late and watch movies in her room … well, that was a tough pill for him to swallow.
