Snoop Dogg is under fire for a homophobic slur he apparently made on social media. The slur appeared on his Twitter and Instagram feeds early Monday morning, when he posted a photo of two men lying in bed together, along with a message. “U n ya boyfriend since u like Jumpn on my page disrespectn bitch boy go suck ya man n get off my line f. A. G.,” said Snoop , who deleted it 30 minutes later. So far, neither the rapper nor his reps have commented on the surprising post. The gay slur, if he indeed wrote it, comes as a surprise for a man who rarely has problems with anyone and who has indicated he supports gay marriage. “Satisfy yourself accordingly,” he said in a recent interview on the subject. “I have no issues with nobody … I live for me and I live my life doing what I do, so you should have the right to do whatever you want to do as well.” In another interview, he told The Guardian he had gay friends personally. “I don’t have a problem with gay people,” he said. “I got some gay homies.” Wonder how they feel about this unexpected social media event … Celebrities Who Are Anti-Gay and Proud 1. John Travolta spoke to The Daily Beast last week and directly addressed some of the recent gay rumors and the lawsuit filed against him by an alleged former lover. Well, he was mostly direct. An interview with the film legend is rare in itself, and extrapolating on the topic of John Travolta gay rumors even rarer. He did not say, however, that he is gay. Or straight. But he did say people are out to get him in order to get paid and that’s the long and short of it. Doug Gotterba , a pilot who worked for him in the 1980s, says he was “unwillingly thrust” into the limelight after Travolta was accused of sexual battery by another man. He says he wanted to “tell the story of his life and those involved in it” in a book, which has resulted in a legal battle against the Pulp Fiction star. “This is every celebrity’s Achilles heel. It’s just about people wanting money. That’s all. It happens on many levels,” John Travolta told the website. “Also, I don’t care that much about [those types of allegations].” “Other people may attack it back more than I do, but I let all the media stuff go a long time ago because I can’t control it. I think that’s why it persists, to some degree.” A California appeals court granted Doug Gotterba the right to argue in a lawsuit that he is not bound by a confidentiality pact from discussing Travolta. Gotterba worked for the actor for six years. Although he signed a termination agreement with Travolta’s company in 1987, Gotterba claims it was just a pre-draft and did not contain a confidentiality clause. Rumors regarding Travolta’s sexual orientation are not new, but he says the only time it got to him was after the death of his 16-year-old son, Jett, in 2009. Tabloids claimed Jett Travolta , his first-born child with wife Kelly Preston, was found by their nanny Jeff Kathrein, who was supposedly John’s lover. “I found it most offensive with the loss of my son,” the 60-year-old said. “That was the lowest I’d ever felt. Sex stuff is always going to be interesting to somebody.” “But, you stay away from family. You really should. Mayim Bialik is not a fan of Ariana Grande. Specifically the billboards around town promoting the singer’s new album, and in Bialik’s view, sex and lots of it. As she shared on her Kveller blog on Friday, the self-proclaimed “old-fashioned” actress is not a fan of ads such as this, especially because of her children. “There is one for Ariana Grande, and I will go ahead and admit I have no idea who she is or what she does,” the 38-year-old mother of sons ages 6 and 9 wrote. “Based on the billboard, she sells lingerie. Or stiletto heels. Or plastic surgery, because every woman over 22 wishes she has that body, I’m sure.” “Why is she in her underwear on this billboard though? And if she has a talent (is she a singer?), then why does she have to sell herself in lingerie?” “I mean, I know society is patriarchal and women are expected to be sexy and sexually available no matter what we do, but I guess now I need to explain that to my sons?” The billboard (below) is actually for Ariana’s new album, My Everything , which hit shelves late last month using that same image of Grande on its cover: “Am I a crotchety old lady?” Mayim, one of the smartest celebrities in Hollywood, added. “I guess so. But I just don’t understand why this is what ads need to look like…” “Why do I have to be okay with young women literally in lingerie on gigantic billboards? If I want to see women in lingerie, I can walk through any mall with a Victoria’s Secret.” The former Blossom cast member would probably cringe to learn that Ariana is actually more talented and conservative than most when it comes to this sort of this. This doesn’t diminish her point, though, because it’s hard not to look at the image above (or the Ariana Grande photos below), and not notice her looks. What do you think? Has society gone overboard with ads such as these? It’s not Ariana alone who Mayim has beef with here, either. Not by a long shot. Bialik also called out a Masters of Sex billboard: “Seriously? How am I supposed to explain those to my kids? Especially my older son who can read?” Levi’s jeans ads, too, the 38-year-old actress says, are “basically people groping each other as foreplay and undressing each other while making out.” Finally, there’s a billboard showing a young girl “flipping the bird.” According to her blog, it’s an ad “for a new show about teenagers in school or something.” She’s not a fan of any of the above, but you watch The Big Bang Theory online and that probably won’t offend her. This morning, shocking surveillance footage of Ray Rice knocking out Jayna Palmer , his now-wife, inside a hotel elevator was released by TMZ. Ray Rice-Janay Palmer Fight Just hours later, Rice’s now-former NFL employer tweeted, “The Baltimore Ravens terminated the contract of RB Ray Rice this afternoon.” Previous footage showed Rice dragging an unconscious Palmer through the lobby of an Atlantic City hotel and casino in the aftermath of the incident. Rice was originally suspended by the league for a mere two games, resulting in an uproar from many fans unhappy with the apparent wrist slap. Despite the fact that she was clearly out cold, the NFL was apparently not aware of the footage that shows the viscious attack itself until this morning. “We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator,” the league said in a statement. “The video was not made available to us and no one in our office has seen it until today.” A number of current and former NFL players took to Twitter today to express their disgust with Rice and their belief that he should be removed from professional football. Non-athlete celebrities joined the conversation as well, with Seth Rogen calling Rice a piece of garbage . Apparently this time, the league took notie. There’s no known motivation for the violent outburst, but Ray and Janay have patched things up. The couple married one day after Rice was indicted for assaulting her in March.
