After gushing about Gaga’s performance at his White Tie & Tiara Ball charity event last year , John told “Access Hollywood” that he approached the singer about singing on “Hello, Hello.” “We became friends, and I adore her,” he said. “I told her about the song, and she said, ‘I’d love to do it,’ and she did it. We’re just so thrilled she took time out of her incredibly busy schedule to do it.” John said Gaga put her own spin on the pop tune, which he produced with longtime partner David Furnish. “She had fun with it and changed it a little bit and brought her own personality to it, so she gave Juliet that personality,” he said. The singer/songwriter was also pleased about another lady who joined him on the soundtrack. “It was always going to be a duet, and it’s like, ‘Who am I going to sing this with?’ ” John recalled thinking about “Hello, Hello.” “It turned out to be Gaga, and then at the end of the film, I sing with Nelly Furtado, so it’s like two great girls on one soundtrack, so I’m thrilled.” Amazon has uploaded a preview of the song, but the clip only includes Elton’s part. It’s no surprise that the song has already received praise from one of Gaga’s biggest supporters, Perez Hilton . On Monday (January 24), after attending the “Gnomeo & Juliet” world premiere, the blogger wrote: “We are pleased to report that the Elton and Gaga duet, ‘Hello Hello,’ is an A+. Such a lovely song! By Aly Semigran Liam Hemsworth Photo: MTV News Not since the adaptations of the “Harry Potter” and “Twilight” sagas has there been as much buzz surrounding the casting of a beloved book headed for the big screen as there is right now for “The Hunger Games.” While most of the talk has been around who will play the story’s heroine, Katniss ( Hailee Steinfeld , Chloe Moretz and Elle Fanning are just a few of the actresses rumored to be vying for the part), many fans are wondering who will be cast as Katniss’ Hunger Games partner (and possible love interest) Peeta. MTV News caught up with Liam Hemsworth at the Sundance Film Festival on Saturday (January 22), and it turns out the actor hasn’t just had his name thrown in the ring for consideration: He’s already read the script. “I read the script,” said the 21-year-old star, who was in Park City to go snowboarding with his older brother, actor Chris Hemsworth. “It’s a really, really cool story.” The actor, known to many as Miley Cyrus’ ex-boyfriend , expressed interest in the film, adding, “I love action … gritty kinda stuff like that.” For fans worried that the PG-13 adaptation will tone down the action in the book, Hemsworth said, “It’s super-dark. It’s all young kids in these Hunger Games, which are crazy, insane things.” Hemsworth, who described the project as “definitely something different,” says he could “possibly” see himself taking on the role of Peeta. Sony Pictures bailed on the project early last year and is currently rebooting the franchise with Marc Webb in the director’s chair. But pieces of Raimi’s aborted “Spider-Man” puzzle could drip out in the future. In fact, J.K. Simmons, who played Daily Bugle head honcho J. Jonah Jameson, kicked MTV News a puzzle piece when he outlined his character’s planned arc for the flick. “J. Jonah Jameson was going to be somehow exiled or disgraced or demoted and end up in some little cubicle somewhere and be railing, even more than usual, against the world,” Simmons told us at the Sundance Film Festival . The actor was in town to promote “The Music Never Stops,” a moving drama about a man whose brain tumor renders him unable to differentiate past from present.
