On Mother’s Day, Kelvin proposed to Taraji, gifting her with a beautiful diamond ring that she posted to Instagram. Kelvin has played for the Indianapolis Colts, the Atlanta Falcons and he finished his NFL career with the Bears in 2014. Meanwhile, Taraji continues to build her star power with shows like Empire and flicks like Acrimony. The two were supposedly in a relationship for over two years, but Taraji has been pretty tight lipped about it. Now she’s sharing their love with the world and over the years, you could tell there was always something special there. Margot Kidder rose to fame when she played Lois Lane, playing opposite Christopher Reeve in the 1978 Superman film that captured imaginations across the globe. Tragically, she passed away on Sunday. Margot was 69 years old. TMZ reports that Margot Kidder passed away at home in Montana. That much is known thanks to a statement from the spokesperson at Franzen-Davis Funeral Home in Livingston, Montana. Her cause of death, however, has yet to be reported. After three marriages, Kidder had remained single since the 1980s. She is survived by her only daughter, Maggie McGuane, and by two grandchildren. Canadian by birth, Margot Kidder took on a number of smaller acting roles before being catapulted to fame in the 1978 Superman film. She would then go on to reprise her role of Lois Lane in the ensuing sequels. She also took on other film roles, most notably in horror films like Amityville Horror and Black Christmas . After a car crash in 1990, she was unable to work for years, which resulted in financial problems. Nonetheless, her film legacy lives on, and she is mourned by countless fans. Additionally, she continued working up until this very year. TMZ notes that two of her roles have yet to be aired. She had bipolar disorder. In April of 1996, Kidder suffered a particularly severe manic episode, following the crushing disappointment of having years of work on her memoir undone by a virus. She disappeared for four days, and was ultimately found by a neighbor. Following that incident, she became an outspoken activist for mental health awareness and treatments. Kidder was an outspoken anti-war activist and advocate for environmental responsibility. She was naturalized as a US citizen in 2005 and moved to Montana, though she continued to fly out to L.A. and other locations for acting work. No matter which actress you believes did the best portrayal of Lois Lane — for there have been a number of them — it was Kidder who paved the way for the role in the iconic movie. It’s no secret that the Duggars adhere to a very strict code of conduct. In fact, next to the sheer size of Jim Bob and Michelle’s brood, following rules is what they’re most famous for. Duggar women are especially constrained, as every aspect of their day-to-day life – from clothing to interpersonal relationships – is strictly governed by regulations that are determined and enforced first by their parents, and then by their husbands. Some of the Duggar girls have married men who are less strict than their father, which is why, for example, Jinger Duggar is allowed to wear pants . But there are certain rules that are consistent throughout the faith-based community to which the Duggars belong. And now it looks as though Jessa Duggar may have inadvertently violated one of those rules. For reasons that won’t surprise anyone who’s familiar with their belief system, the Duggars are staunchly opposed to the consumption of alcohol. Getting liquored up isn’t conducive to remaining perfectly chaste and modest at all times, and thus, booze is strictly off-limits to all Duggars, women in particular. So you can imagine the shock among fans this week when Jessa Duggar revealed that she has, in fact, sampled the devil’s brew. In an interview with Jessa that resurfaced and was published by In Touch Weekly, the 25-year-old revealed that she has imbibed on more than one occasion. Though she was careful to note that she never allowed alcohol to pass through her lips intentionally. “Not on purpose,” Jessa replied when asked if she’s ever had a drink. “We’re really heavily in politics, and sometimes, it’s one of those fancy, ritzy events and they serve you what you think is punch, and it’s not,” she added. “You’re like, ‘Oops, yeah, that wasn’t punch.’ That was champagne or something.” Jessa didn’t say what her next move was in those situations, but we assume she guzzled the rest of the glass, then headed straight to the bar, where she bellows for more. We kid, of course. Obviously, Jessa is no fan of the hooch, and we’re sure she’s in no hurry to break with the rest of her family on the issue of spiritous beverages. Besides, Jessa is mom-shamed enough these days. Imagine if word got out in the fundamentalist community that she enjoys a glass of wine from time to time! There’s been a Royal Change to the Royal Wedding. And it has us Royally Concerned. Scroll down to find out which major figure will NOT be attending this wildly anticipated event and to learn the significant effect it will have on the upcoming proceedings… According to TMZ, Thomas Markle suffered a heart attack last week and has decided it’s best for his health if he does not board an airplane and fly to London. (A newly-famous recluse, Thomas lives in Mexico and has tried to stay as far away from the spotlight ever since his daughter started dating Harry.) Thomas initially checked himself out of the hospital in order to attend the Royal Wedding, but he tells TMZ that he’s chosen to remain home for reasons that go beyond his physical well-being. You see, Markle recently made news when it became public knowledge that he’s been staging various paparazzi photos. As you may have noticed over the past several months, photographers have captured Thomas buying beer, looking disheveled and not exactly presenting the best version of himself. He says now that he finally accepted some money from a paparazzi agency in order to set up shots that appeared candid but which were, in reality, staged ahead of time. He did so partly to earn some cash, but mostly to avoid embarrassing his family with snapshots that depicted him in a negative light. Now that this information has gone viral, Thomas himself is embarrassed and TMZ reports he does not want to attend the wedding and bring any shame to those involved. It all sounds pretty darn sad, to be honest. Markle will at least have her mom by her side when she exchanges her vows this Saturday, but one pressing question now remains: WHO WILL WALK HER DOWN THE AISLE? Mere days prior to the ceremony, this is a rather huge issue to not have an answer for at the moment. The topic of Markle’s family in general continues to be a pressing one. Simply put, some of her relatives seem a bit… off. The former Suits star has been the target of wrath from her half-sister for weeks, for example, as Samantha Markle keeps dragging her sibling in the media because she isn’t invited to the wedding. And her brother also says Markle sucks ! “She’s clearly forgotten her roots. It’s torn my entire family apart,” hr recently told The Daily Mail, adding: “Meg likes to portray herself as a humanitarian, a people’s person and a charitable person but she is none of those things to her family.” UPDATE : Samantha now says that she’s the person who actually set up Thomas Markle’s paparazzi photos. “I have to say I am entirely the culprit,” she said during an appearance on British talk show Loose Women on Monday, explaining: “As we know the media can take very unflattering photographs of people on their casual days and blow it way out of proportion. I said, you know, the world has no idea you’re getting in shape, doing healthy things. “They don’t photograph you buying vegetables and PH water. They photograph you as unflattering ways as they can… “So I said, really you need to show the world that you’re getting in shape and doing great healthy things. So I suggested it. “There’s a lot of scrutiny that it was money motivated, it was not. It was my suggestion that to benefit him and to benefit the royal family that everyone looked good and they depict you as you are – in shape and doing healthy things.” Neither of Meghan’s half-siblings will be at the wedding. They were grown up and out of the house by the time Markle was born and the ex-actress has never really had a relationship with them. Sunday was Mother’s Day, and like so many other celebrities who wrote tributes to their moms, Ivanka took to Instagram to architect a post of her own. But she’s being slammed in the comments — even by people who seem to like her — for her brief, impersonal post about Ivana. Is she deliberately giving her mom the cold shoulder? Alongside an image of Ivana Trump, her mother who is one of Donald Trump’s ex-wives, Ivanka writes: “Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing mother and the best skier I know!” That’s a … super specific bit of praise. “Love you.” She follows that with a double heart emoji and a “#MothersDay” tag. This was the accompanying image: A number of commenters weren’t exactly overcome with emotion when they saw this glamour shot of Ivana or when they saw her daughter’s message. “That was a weak Mother’s Day wish. Ivana, you deserve better than that.” “How nice… but I’m sure she has some pretty amazing attributes as a mother than just being the best skier.” “You are who you are because of her. She deserves more honor. Happy Mothers Day all!” “Wow, that’s it?! And she’s @itsivanatrump supposed to visit you in #prison?? #prisonprep101 #LockThemAllUp.” “Your dad should’ve been a better husband to her.” Some of those are more political than others, obviously. We included this image, because seeing it may highlight the brevity that alarmed so many commenters. For a comparison, let’s look at Ivanka’s sister, Tiffany Trump, and the post that she made to her mother, Marla Maples. Tiffany writes: “Happy Mother’s Day! [double heart emoji] @itsmarlamaples I love you with all of my heart and I’m so grateful for all of your love!” This caption accompanied a digital collage of photos of Tiffany and Marla: Tiffany’s post is nearly as terse and frosty as Ivanka’s, but the photo collage is much more personal. So perhaps it runs in the family? At the same time, we should consider that even some of the criticisms that were not overtly political may have been politically motivated. After all, it’s not like Ivana Trump has hordes of eager fans looking to defend her honor. Rather, when someone is the daughter of the most hated man on the planet and plays an active role in his policies, everything that she does looks like a mistake. That is understandable — the Mueller investigation is trudging along, but the wheels of justice move slowly. Entertaining revelations about Trump, Russia, and Stormy Daniels aren’t really enough to distract from the waking nightmare of every day’s news. People are looking to vent, and when the First Daughter can’t seem to synthesize enough human emotion to publish a personal Mother’s Day message, that’s as good of an opportunity as any other. Ivanka and Tiffany’s Christmas video was much, much better than anything that they had to say about their moms. In Ivanka’s defense, she and Jared are very busy at the moment and, in fact, they’re overseas. In her … offense , we suppose … she and Jared are in Israel to oversee the deeply controversial moving of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This is seen as an insult to the Palestinian people, but some evangelical Christians believe that Trump is fulfilling biblical prophecy and ushering the world towards the End Times. (Hey, both sides of the aisle agree that Trump is leading the world towards its destruction! A rare moment of unity, we suppose) In the mean time, dozens of Palestinian protesters have been killed by Israeli snipers and countless others wounded. It’s a television miracle! Just days after Fox broke the hearts of comedy fans everywhere, NBC has swooped in and rescued in and rescued one of our favorite sitcoms on television. Indeed: Brooklyn Nine-Nine has been picked up for a sixth season! To quote Captain Raymond Holt…. HOT DAMN! Executive producer Dan Goor broke this amazing news late on Friday via Twitter, saying his series is coming back for at least 13 more episodes. “Hey everyone, just wanted to say no big deal but…. NBC JUST PICKED #BROOKLYN99 UP FOR SEASON 6!!!” Goor wrote, adding: “Thanks in no small part to you, the best fans in the history of the world! Nine-Nine!” Television shows get canceled all the time, of course. Overall, 20 were actually given the axe in just a 24-hour period yesterday. But the outcry over Fox canceling Brooklyn Nine-Nine was especially loud this week, with fans (including some famous ones; see below) aghast that such a funny and optimistic and well-acted program no longer had a home. Stars, Celebrities React “Ever since we sold this show to Fox, I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to its rightful home,” NBC entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement. He continued: “Mike Schur, Dan Goor and Andy Samberg grew up on NBC, and we’re all thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest, and best cast comedies in a long time will take its place in our comedy line-up. “I speak for everyone at NBC, here’s to the Nine-Nine!” Fox put its own end to the cop comedy on Thursday, ending a five-season run. However, viewers – including famous names such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Hamill and Guillermo del Toro – raised such an uproar on social media that NBC apparently took notice. The show started as a vehicle for Saturday Night Live alum Andy Samberg, but has grown into one of the best ensemble comedies on television. It co-stars Melissa Fumero, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Stephanie Beatriz and Chelsea Peretti, among others. It really is very, very funny. “#Brooklyn99 IS COMING BACK FOR SEASON 6 YOU GUYS ON NBC!!!!! You did this!!” Tweeted Fumero last night, adding: “You got loud and you were heard and you saved our show!! Thank you!! Thank you to NBC!! NINE NINE!” And there was this from Beatriz: “SQUAD YOU DID IT #BROOKLYN99 WILL BE ON NBC FOR OUR 6th SEASON!!!!!” We’re as happy as Captain Holt eating some kind of bland meal. Or as thrilled as Terry opening up a brand new cup of yogurt. Or smiling as widely as Jake thinking of the name of a friend’s sex tape. Will any other shows get saved by any new networks?
