Desiree Hartsock and Chris Siegfried of The Bachelorette really want us to believe everything is fine between them. Blissful, in fact. But is that really the case? From celebrity gossip reports that it’s already over, to cryptic Tweets and Des’ brother meeting up with her ex (more on that shortly), it’s been a strange week. Desiree Hartsock, for her part, Tweeted earlier this week, “It’s not about looking into each others eyes but looking out in the same direction. – Ice T” Ever since the show ended, some have felt that she’s been defending her relationship with Chris Siegfried, and is simply trying too hard with stuff like this. Reading too much into it? Probably. But this has been a trend. Chris, for his part, posted a few days back, “Enjoying my weekend with @DesHartsock and some friends in Chelan! Peaceful getaway! #MuchNeeded” Much needed getaway from what? The scrutiny of being in the public eye and having your relationship picked apart cannot be easy, but it seems like they’re letting it get to them a bit. There will be vocal naysayers. This is part of the deal with The Bachelorette. It’s as if they’re trying to make a point and quiet the chatter that can’t be silenced. And then there’s this: Just weeks after he said his sister obviously settled for her second choice on The Bachelorette finale, Nate Hartsock is back at it … with Zak Waddell. Yes, he’s hanging out with the fourth-place finisher this season. Why and what that means for Des, we have no idea, but it’s a little bit strange, no? Zak tweeted a photo with Nate, saying, “So great meeting Desiree’s brother @nate_hartsock83 What a great person!
