If you're a follower of all things Teen Mom , then by now, you've probably caught wind of the biggest development to the franchise since Farrah Abraham got fired for being Farrah Abraham. We're talking, of course, about Bristol Palin joining the cast of Teen Mom OG . The news has already prompted several important questions: Will Bristol be able to deliver the ratings? Does the average MTV viewer even remember the 2008 election? Does seeing Russia from one's house count as collusion? And, of course, how does the rest of the cast feel about Bristol's casting ? Now, it turns out the answer to that last query could create some serious problems for the show's producers: 1. New Girl Bristol is one of the most famous former teen moms in the country, but the news of her casting came as a total shock, nonetheless. 2. Classified Info MTV reportedly went to great lengths to keep the news under wraps, even going so far as to refer to Bristol by a codename in meetings and internal documents. 3. The Maci Connection An insider revealed yesterday that Maci Bookout was directly linked to the decision to cast Bristol. 4. A Failed Gambit It seems that at one point, Maci refused to continue filming unless producers assured her that they would no longer feature her first baby daddy, Ryan Edwards, on the show. Apparently, she didn’t want her eldest son to see his father struggling with addiction on TV. 5. Whoops The move backfired, however, as producers decided to continue filming Ryan while simultaneously seeking out a suitable replacement for Maci. 6. Enter Bristol And just like that, Bristol wound up joining the cast. Sheila D Gets Raw On “Ratchet Royalty” Firstly, Sheila D Yeah has been doing her thing musically for a minute and she’s dope. The Baltimore native took her talents to L.A. where she ran into a few hiccups, but it hasn’t stopped her from living out her musical dreams. On her latest release “ Ratchet Royalty “, the lyricist discusses her struggles as a single mother — very different content from what’s popping with women rappers today. Sheila includes a voicemail from an aggy A&R on the intro of the EP, and dude straight up tells her no one wants to work with her because she had a baby. “Unfortunately [inaudible] has lost interest. The concern is, and this is probably why she has never gone anywhere…she’s a mother, she has a kid and there’s no father in the picture. If you look a billboard Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Cardi…they don’t have kids. Cardi B may be pregnant but she can do that…Everyone is not interested because she has a child.” It starts at the 1:00 mark: Wow, do you think it’s a fair or foul decision to not sign a contract with someone because they are a mother??? Edgar Hansen, one of the stars on the Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch, pleaded guilty in court late last week to the sexual abuse of a 16-year old. According to The Seattle Times, Hansen confessed to a charge of fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation on Friday. In exchange for his plea, he received a 364-day suspended prison sentence and was ordered to undergo a sexual deviance evaluation. He also received two years’ probation and various fees and fines totaling $1,653, with an additional $4,800 fine suspended, court records show. Hansen will not serve any time behind bars. The 47-year old fisherman is the deck boss and key crew member of a Seattle-based crabbing boat helmed by his older brother, Sig Hansen. The siblings have risen to fame and fortune due to their popular Discovery Channel reality series. As for the details of this ugly case? A 16-year-old girl told her therapist in October of last year that Hansen sexually assaulted her at a suburban Seattle home on September 30, 2017. The aforementioned newspaper cited a probable-cause affidavit filed in Snohomish County District Court to back up this allegation. This teenager also relayed to the police these same allegations. In a brief handwritten statement accompanying his guilty plea, Hansen acknowledged “touching [the victim’s] private areas … for the purpose of my own sexual gratification.” He added: “I committed this assault… I am very sorry for that conduct and I have commenced treatment to ensure that nothing like this assault ever happens again.” The victim (unnamed because she is a minor) said Hansen “kissed her on the lips, touched her vagina and had her touch his penis,” prosecutors said in their probable cause affidavit. Investigators also spoke with Hansen’s wife, who said she “confronted him” after learning of the abuse. He “initially denied” it, but “eventually admitted that he kissed [the victim] and touched her inappropriately.” Edgar Hansen’s guilty plea comes just weeks after his famous brother, Sig, was sentenced to probation for spitting on an Uber driver last year. This Deadliest Catch caption was given a deferred sentence, ordered to undergo alcohol treatment and placed on a year of probation. Sig told People Magazine at the time that he was “terribly sorry” and “very embarrassed” for his role in this incident. Sig Hansen is also currently awaiting a decision from the state Court of Appeals over a King County judge’s ruling that would allow a sexual-abuse lawsuit brought by his estranged daughter, Melissa Eckstrom, to proceed to trial. He has denied her claims referring to Eckstrom’s law suit “an old-fashioned shakedown.” Also of note, in regard to Deadliest Catch, Blake Painter, a former captain on the show, died in May of a suspected drug overdose . Neither Hansen sibling nor any Discovery Channel representative has spoken yet on Edgar Hansen’s crime.
Back in May, Mackenzie Standifer disappeared from social media. Her reasons were obvious, of course. Standifer's husband, Ryan Edwards, has been involved in just about every sort of scandal imaginable in the past few months. The downward spiral began when Edwards got arrested several months ago, and it's continued in shocking fashion ever since. At a certain point, Mackenzie probably got sick of dealing with a new controversy every time she logged in. Fans are happy to see Standifer back on Instagram — but they still have a lot of questions about her absence. 1. Before the Fall There was a time when Mackenzie and Ryan actually appeared to have a happy marriage. That didn’t last long. 2. A Rocky Start Things got off to a bad start when Ryan got so high on his wedding day that he passed out while driving to the church. 3. Turning It Around? Shortly thereafter, Ryan checked into rehab, and it briefly looked as though he was committed to making his marriage work. 4. Worse By the Day Shortly thereafter, it was revealed that Ryan had been using a dating app to help him find suitable cheating partners. 5. Bad Timing All of this came on the heels of news that Standifer is pregnant with Ryan’s baby. It will be the second child for both partners, but their first as a couple. 6. Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta star Stevie J managed to avoid jail time for his hefty child support debt, but his life is still about to change forever. On Tuesday, he and on-again girlfriend Faith Evans were tweeting their love for each other. The two of them got married in a private ceremony. But there may be a little hitch in their marriage … courtesy of Joseline Hernandez. TMZ reports that Stevie J and Faith Evans applied for a marriage license in Las Vegas. The license would be good for one year, so the two could have planned their nuptials for any time before or including the beginning of summer in 2019. On Tuesday, Stevie tweeted: “I love you Faith Renee Jordan.” Faith tweeted back: “I love you back Steven Aaron Jordan.” We’re not sure if wedding vows count if they’re on Twitter, but that’s okay … There’s no mystery of when the wedding ceremony will be. TMZ quickly followed up with an update: Stevie J and Faith went through with it and got married. Apparently, Stevie and Faith held their wedding ceremony in their hotel room on Tuesday night, around 10:30 in the eventing. That was the very same day on which they filed for their marriage license in Clark County (in which Las Vegas resides). We know that it’s a little sudden — especially since it’s Stevie’s first marriage. But … it’s Vegas. (But, hey, it’s not like they just met — just over a year ago, Faith Evans and Stevie J were on the outs ) As we mentioned, this is Stevie’s first marriage. This is Faith’s third. She had been married to Todd Russaw until 2011 … and, of course, to Notorious B.I.G. Over the past year, Stevie and Faith have gone from being split to openly flirting on Leave It To Stevie . And now … they’re married. Though, to be clear, those “I love you” tweets are the closest that these two have come to making an announcement. But we mentioned that there was a twist. This marriage is off to a rough start. Why? Because Stevie’s ex, Joseline Hernandez, decided to expose some alleged texts that Stevie appears to have sent her just a month earlier. In texts from June 17, someone saved to Joseline’s phone as “A–hole,” who is implied to be Stevie J, wrote to Joseline. The text asks: “Will you marry me?” Joseline replies: “I’m actually trying to marry someone else I really like. I’m sorry. I tried it with you. I’m liking someone else a lot.” In a series of replies, Stevie is shown to have written: “Coo. Damn. I love you Joseline. You stupid little b–ch.” Joseline, clearly feeling petty, shared a screencap of this conversation on Instagram, adding: “Happy honey moon!” As they say, Joseline had time . Now, anyone with a few minutes to spare can fabricate text messages, but most people would say that it’s not worth the backlash to fabricate something personal like this. Fans have roasted Derick Dillard for everything from begging for money from fans to his vitriolic attacks on trans teen Jazz Jennings , the latter of which got him fired. Now, Derick is trying to make himself respectable — even in the secular world. Folks, Derick is headed to law school . Do you want this dude as your attorney? Are you one of the cyber sleuths who noticed that Derick has been following a series of new Twitter accounts lately? If not, you’re probably better off. He’s been following Twitter accounts related to the LSAT and the Bar Exam. Which, normally, a person only does if they want to become a lawyer. A Facebook page (we would not characterize it as a fan site) called Duggar Family News made the announcement . “Derick wi ll be attending The School of Law at the University of Arkansas this fall,” the post reveals. Their page has been a pretty reliable source of info on the Duggars. Coupled with Derick’s Twitter activities, it’s pretty convincing. “Derick is giving up missioning,” the page continues. “Whatever he did at Cross Church, and God, to attend a secular law school.” Obviously, the bit about giving up his faith is hyperbolic. “The cost of law school is $16,000 a year,” the page continues. “Which I assume either Jim Bob is paying for …” “Or,” the post hypothesizes. “He’s got some conservative evangelical group paying his way in hopes that if Derick actually becomes a lawyer he will be forced to work for their causes.” The post suggests that those causes might include “overturning all equal rights laws that greatly benefit deserving human beings. ” That does sound kind of harsh but, given Derick Dillard’s track record, it sounds like something that he would be interested in doing. The page openly asks: “Can Derick make it through the rigors of law school?” “The idiot,” the post continues. “Couldn’t learn Spanish after one-on-one tutoring and living in a Spanish speaking country!” Attaining true, convincing fluency takes a lot of work. But a lot of people were disappointed by Derick’s lack of progress. “He can’t follow simple rules when it comes to posting copyright images or running a fundraiser page,” the post observes. To be entirely fair, a lot of celebrities seem confused about that. Perhaps attending law school will make him more mindful. “Derick,” the post continues. “Lives in a bubble of false news and facts which will be put to the test when secular law professors get their hands on him.” Sadly, real life law school professors are rarely as exciting as they are on How To Get Away With Murder . “My bet,” the post writes. “Is that he lasts almost a year and then suddenly gets another calling from God.” “Next year,” the page predicts. “He’ll be working as a clerk at Walmart.” Duggar Family News might be a great page for leaked info, but we don’t know that we share their vision for the future. Law school may be secular, but there are a number of religious angles for a practising attorney. One, of course, is that some larger churches and religious organizations need lawyers. They can help with everything from major lawsuits to making simple arrangements. Another, as the Facebook page suggests, is that Derick might — perhaps of his own volition — work hard to combat any progress made for equal rights for certain groups. Remember, Derick Dillard says to not make cakes for gay couples . He also claims that accepting transgender children for who they are is “child abuse.” There is another possibility. Depending upon how you feel about Derick, this could be worse. For some, attending law school and even becoming a lawyer is just a means to an end — that end being a serious political career. Last month, Farrah Abraham was arrested after allegedly attacking a male staff member at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Earlier this week, Farrah was formally charged with assault , and prosecutors decided to tack on resisting arrest for good measure. (That’ll happen when video of you telling the police to go f-ck themselves makes its way across social media.) Naturally, Farrah handled the situation by admitting blame, asking forgiveness of the victim, and entering therapy in order to ensure that nothing like this ever happens. Just kidding, she’s actually been blaming everyone else for her arrest and lying about the altercation every chance she gets. Yes, despite considerable evidence to the contrary (Did we mention that video with the cops and the F-bombs?), Farrah says she was not arrested . Most recently, she made that delusional claim on the Instagram page of Paparazzi Magazine after the outlet tagged her in a post about the arrest. “Don’t tag me on lies all this is false,” Farrah commented. “False info,” she added. Yes, apparently, “false info” is Farrah’s version of “fake news.” Sadly, she won’t be old enough to run for president in 2020, but the way her career is going, you can expect her to be elected to the White House in 2028. Anyway, to the surprise of absolutely no one, Farrah is completely full of it. She was arrested; she has been charged with multiple misdemeanors; and she is facing 18 months in prison. The folks over at Hollywood Life even went so far as to obtain court documents pertaining to Farrah’s arrest . Armed with that evidence, HL reached out to Farrah for comment. The surprising part is, she actually responded. The not-so-surprising part is, she’s still trying to BS everyone. “This case is all false. It’s all lies. It’s all false information,” Farrah responded. “The court date has been set for August 13th, but there has been no judge assigned. I’ve told everybody this is all false.” Man, she really loves that “false info” catchphrase. You’ve gotta love how Farrah thinks she can just make people’s heads spin with legal mumbo-jumbo, and everyone will be like, “Well, she must be telling the truth!” A word of legal advice, Farrah — don’t try that on the judge.
