After the shock over the news that Chris Pratt and Anna Faris had split , people started to wonder who would be next to date the comedic actor and totaly Hollywood studmuffin. Despite rumors, he’s not dating Olivia Munn . But now we know who he’s seeing. This gorgeous but much younger woman is Katherine Schwarzenegger. TMZ spotted Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger on a picnic date in Santa Barbara. Per their report, Chris picked up Katherine from her home and then drove her up the coast. As various outlets have noted, Chris has been known to flirt from time to time. But this is the first actual date that anyone has seen him on since his split from Anna. So it’s no surprise that he went above and beyond. We can only imagine what a fun, and funny, date the two of them had. Katherine has some very obvious Hollywood ties, thanks to her father, Arnold Schwarzenegger. But he’s honestly not her most famous relation. Through her mother, broadcast journalist Maria Shriver, she is the great-niece of John F. Kennedy. Katherine does not actually work as an actress or even directly as a politician. Instead, she is an author, an interior designer, a lifestyle blogger, and an animal welfare activist. Notably, she is 28 years old — ten years younger than Pratt, who is 38. But while 10 years is kind of a lot of age difference for a couple, they’re both very much adults. It’s not a big deal. By all accounts, it sounds like Chris and Katherine enjoyed their picnic lunch. It’s unclear how much they’ve spoken before this, but the general consensus seems to be that the two are still getting to know one another. That shoulsn’t be difficult. They’re both beautiful and charming people. But it may be a little strange for Chris Pratt to get back into the dating game after so many years of marriage. We wouldn’t be surprised if they take things slow, even if they end up being a long-term couple. Another potential difference will be the dynamic — assuming that Chris and Katherine continue dating and don’t go their separate ways. For years, Chris Pratt was mostly just “Anna Faris’ husband.” People knew him as “that guy from Parks and Recreation .” (Where, for the record, he was hilarious, both in delivering scripted lines and in improvising some truly brilliant jokes) Anna was the big name. Then, Chris was cast as Peter Quill in Guardians of the Galaxy . To take on the roll, he transformed his body from its soft form into the hardened hunk we’ve all seen in three Marvel bluckbusters. Suddenly, he was the big time movie star. Anna Faris was his wife. When the two of them split, many joked on social media that this was precisely why they never wanted their boyfriends or husbands to “get hot.” But Katherine and Chris would have this dynamic — her from a famous family and him as an action movie star — from the beginning. That might help their stability in a relationship, in the long run. But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. One rarely sees a critique of the Duggar family that doesn’t include the word “cult.” And it’s easy to see why all but the family’s most diehard fans are able to recognize that their particular brand of fundamentalist Southern Baptism bears many of the hallmark distinctions of a dangerous band of zealots. For example, the Duggars are wary of outsiders. Dissent and rebellion are not tolerated within their ranks and are swiftly dealt with, often with harsh punishments. Women are subservient to men and are forced to adhere to strict regulations regarding their clothing and conduct. They participate in ritualistic animal sacrifices in order to appease their fertility god, Ra’aa’al. Okay, we may have made that last one up, but you get the point. The Institute for Basic Life Principles — the organization that’s provided the basis for the Duggars’ controversial belief system — is pretty unabashed in its cultishness, and the Duggars proudly live their lives according to the teachings of its disgraced founder Bill Gothard . So make of that what you will. Anyone who’s escaped a cult will tell you that discipline is the glue that holds such groups together, and anyone who’s ever been a teenager knows that perpetually cheerful dispositions and voluntary celibacy are two things that do not come naturally to the pubescent set. And yet we don’t hear much about how the Duggars discipline their older children. We know about such controversial practices as ” blanket training ” for younger children, but surely even a practice as severe as striking toddlers with blunt objects wouldn’t be enough to foster a lifetime of blind obedience. In fact, one would think that in many cases it would cause children to lash out in their teen years. So why don’t we ever hear about Jim Bob and Michelle grounding their children or forcing them to go to bed without devouring a steam tray full of deep-fried Crisco first? Well, according to a new report from Life & Style , it’s because rebellious Duggar teens aren’t published — they’re quietly sent away to be “re-programmed.” Josiah Duggar is the most recent victim of this practice, but he’s far from the first. Josiah is said to be the most rebellious Duggar boy, and Jim Bob reportedly attempted to suppress this streak by sending him away for an extra long stint at a secretive IBLP facility known as the ALERT Academy. Joe and Jeremiah also did time in the clandestine boot camp-like program, but they weren’t there for nearly as long as Josiah, who was gone from the Duggar compound for much of 2013 and 2014. When he returned, Jim Bob must have been satisfied with the results, as Josiah was promptly tossed into a courtship with Marjorie Jackson. Unfortunately, it must have been too much too soon, as Josiah and Marjorie broke up after just a few weeks of dating — a move that’s almost unheard of in Duggar courtships. After that, Josiah once again “kept a low profile” for several months. But it’s not just Duggar boys who are shipped off to receive the Clockwork Orange treatment when they show signs of independent thought. Girls serve their time in the equally controversial Journey of the Heart program. Jana Duggar was sent there in her youth, and she returned as exactly the sort of docile super-servant her parents needed. “Jana used to be very outgoing,” John-David once remarked of the change in her personality. “Whenever she was younger, she was very rowdy.” A rowdy young woman? Well, we can’t have that, now can we? Of course, the most frequently brainwashed Duggar is Josh, who was shipped off to ALERT after he was caught molesting five young girls . As an adult, the treatment was repeated at a faith-based in-patient facility for sex addicts that’s been described as a prison-like workcamp. In Josh’s case, such treatment is actually deserved. Danai Gurira Covers Women’s Health Danai Gurira , 40, is in incredible shape and she’s speaking on the power of fitness with Women’s Health . The “Black Panther” actress/playwright spoke with the publication on a number of healthy mind and body related topics including self-care and intense “Corectology” workouts she does sometimes four-times a week with trainer AJ Fisher. “Their sessions, she says, are extremely challenging: “Sometimes it’s so intense I can’t remember what we did.” Fisher specializes in a method she coined called “Corectology,” which aims to even out muscle imbalances while improving strength, mobility, and cardiovascular function. A typical workout for Danai includes lots of circuit training and Pilates-inspired moves, in which she alternates high-intensity intervals and active rest (that’s when she’ll do the Pilates 100, a classic core move from the method). She also encourages women to use fitness as a form of empowerment. “As women, we’re not always encouraged to find the fullest extent of our physical power,” she says. “There’s something so exciting about tapping into that part of ourselves.” We love reading about this positive and smart Queen and can’t wait to see her continue to reprise her role as Okoye. Chris Hardwick has broken his silence. The podcast and television host is at the center of a very serious scandal this week after an ex-girlfriend named Chloe Dystrka wrote a troubling and personal essay about her relationship with Hardwick. In this esay, Dykstra details how an unnamed former boyfriend ( strongly presumed to be Hardwick) forced her to have sex against her will and treated her with absolute disdain. The 29-year old brings up this ex-boyfriend’s “controlling behavior” and how “rules were quickly established” shortly after the two started dating, including how she could not be friends with men and could not drink alcohol. “I was not to speak in public places (elevators, cars with drivers, restaurants where tables were too close) as he believed that people recognized him and were listening to our conversations,” she said. Dykstra added she was “terrified to piss him off, so I did what he said. Including let him sexually assault me. Regularly,” explaining: “I was expected to be ready for him when he came home from work. Every night, I laid there for him, occasionally in tears. He called it ‘starfishing.’ He thought the whole idea was funny.” Everyone who has read this account, conversely, finds it horrifying. In response to the accusations, Nerdist, a content company founded by Hardwick, confirmed on Friday that it had severed ties with Hardwick . It also made it clear that Hardwick has not been active with the company for years. Dykstra even emphasized this same point in a Tweet late Friday, writing: Before I take my break, I do want to address something re: the company he founded. As I understand it, the person has not been associated with that company for several years, and I hope that they will not suffer as a result of my essay. Be kind to them, they are good people. Now, at last, Hardwick has spoken out about these disturbing allegations. “I was heartbroken to read Chloe’s post,” he said to open a statement to Deadline, adding: “Our three year relationship was not perfect – we were ultimately not a good match and argues – even shouted at each other – but I loved her and did my best to uplift and support her as a partner and companion in any way and at no time did I sexually assault her.” Dykstra did add the following in her confession: “To be fair, I did go along with it out of fear of losing him. I’m still recovering from being sexually used (not in a super fun way) for three years.” So we’re not about to speculate about what actually transpired between these two, except to say that Hardwick could be trying to walk a fine line and deny the specific allegation of assault , considering (in his mind and sort of by her own admission), Dykstra did not fight back. “These are very serious allegations and not to be taken lightly which is why I’ve taken the day to consider how to respond,” Hardwick continued, expounding as follows: “When we were living together, I found out that Chloe had cheated on me, and I ended the relationship. “For several weeks after we broke up, she asked to get back together with me and even told me she wanted to have kids with me, ‘build a life’ with me and told me that I was ‘the one,’ but I did not want to be with someone who was unfaithful. “I’m devastated to read that she is now accusing me of conduct that did not occur. l was blindsided by her post and always wanted the best for her. “As a husband, a son, and future father, I do not condone any kind of mistreatment of women.” (Above, Dykstra poses with Hardwick in 2013; below, she poses on a red carpet alone.) Dykstra also claims that Hardwick trash talked her following their split, effectively ending her career in Hollywood. Following the release of Hardwick’s statement, actor Robert Kazinsky took to Twitter to defend Dykstra. “As @hardwick has chosen to deny Chloe’s account, I’ll take the opportunity to say I have seen the proof myself, I have seen the evidence first hand, I’ve seen the people who have come forward to tell @skydart how Chris ordered her blacklisted, there isn’t just one, there are many. “For years the pain @skydart carried around was overwhelming, and even now @hardwick doesn’t have the decency to offer first an apology to the woman he destroyed intentionally. “That’s all that mattered.” Dykstra also said in her extended message that she contemplated suicide “many times,” but is now a much healthier and happier place. She concluded: “To the man who tried to ruin my future: A sincere and heartfelt apology could have made my last four years a hell of a lot easier.”
