According to NBC News , 53-year-old Wendell Melton allegedly killed his child, 14-year-old Giovanni Melton, in the apartment where his teenage son was apparently living alone last Thursday. The boy’s former foster mother, Sonja Jones, reported to the news that Wendell refused to accept that his son was homosexual , and that was most likely the reason he entered the boy’s home and shot him dead. “He hated the fact that his son was gay. I’m sure that inside of his mind, he would rather have a dead son than a gay son.” Sonja stepped in as Giovanni’s foster mother, as the boy was “abused physically and mentally and spiritually for many, many years.” SMH. Most of the tabloid attention has had to do with Calvert’s social media attack on his Teen Mom 2 co-stars. That was probably the last update on Jeremy’s love life that most fans were aware of. But it looks like a whole lot has changed in the past two months. For one thing, Jeremy and Brooke broke up . We’re not sure when, exactly, because Jer was uncharacteristically quiet about the split. But at some point, he got involved in an entirely new relationship, this one with a woman named Kristen Blake. Calvert announced the relationship just last week with a now-deleted photo of Blake. “When true love comes together,” he captioned the image. Sadly, it seems that “true love” was short-lived. Earlier this week, Jeremy posted the above photo, along with a caption that many fans are interpreting as a breakup announcement. “3 words that are way to loosely used now days and so easy to say to people. And I’m just as guilty as everyone else that says it for the most part,” he wrote. Tellingly, Calvert disabled comments on the post. Juli Briskman recently went viral after she was spotted by a photog flipping off the presidential motorcade while she was on a morning bike ride. Now according to The Washington Post , Juli’s without a job—but the defiant 50-year-old doesn’t regret it it. “I’d do it again,” she told the paper. “On Halloween, after Briskman gave her bosses at Akima LLC, a government contracting firm, a heads-up that she was the unidentified cyclist in the photo, they took her into a room and fired her, she said, escorting her out of the building with a box of her things. “I wasn’t even at work when I did that,” Briskman said. “But they told me I violated the code of conduct policy.” Her bosses at Akima, who have not returned emails and calls requesting comment, showed her the blue-highlighted section 4.3 of their social media policy when they canned her. “Here’s what was going through my head that day: ‘Really? You’re golfing again?’ ” Briskman said. The company she worked for failed to discipline or fire a senior exec who made anti-black lives matter comments.
