What an odd way to make an statement. Designer Soo Kyung Bae created jewelry for a woman’s thigh gap area for Singapore company TGAP. Why? I have no idea. The thigh gap trend has become worryingly popular, creating unrealistic expectations of what a woman’s body looks like. Some thigh gaps are natural, while others are a result of extreme diet and exercise. The pieces, make of 18-karat plated gold, range from $175-$195. “TGap Jewellery is a fictional company that sells jewelleries designed for thigh gaps,” a statement on the site reads. “It is launched to catalyze a debate on unrealistic body image social media portrays.” Huh? It appears that the site doesn’t actually sell thigh gap jewelry. Instead, t’s supposed to raise awareness about body image. “The jewellery pieces take the thigh-gap trend to another level, the pieces are created in hopes of sparking questions,” Bae told Dazeen Magazine “‘If we let the media keep popularising such unrealistic body ideal, will this eventually become reality? By using outrageous products, I hope to bring a provocative jolt that leads us to ponder and reflect upon what we are like as a society and the absurd things we value and obsess over – as well as how this creates unnecessary pressure for women and girls.” I dig it.

It’s possible that their relationship status has changed since then, but we’re guessing Kailyn and Javi will at least try to make things work once he returns home. Of course, it’s possible they’ve adopted an “out of sight, out of mind” (or, to put it in military terms, “don’t ask, don’t tell”) policy in the meantime. Smith hosted the first ever Charity Casino Night Gala on Friday, March 25th for his nonprofit, the J.R. Smith Youth Foundation. Organized by New Generation Management, the swanky black-tie affair was held at Stage 48 in New York City and raised a whopping $45K for the Foundation. 100% of proceeds from the evening will go towards fulfilling the J.R. Smith Youth Foundation’s mission in supporting young people through the arts, education, sports and other beneficial activities such as scholarships, grants, and programs designed to help further their goals. The event was powered by clean fashion technology brand Crep Protect, as guests arrived dressed to impress for an evening of philanthropy and positivity. The event was emceed by renowned TV and radio sportscaster, Tina Cervasio. Wentworth Miller Reveals He Was Suicidal, Talks Fat Shaming This is really sad. Kehlani isn’t the only star to struggle publicly with being suicidal . Wentworth Miller took to his Facebook to address a meme that has been circulating and revealed he too struggled with similar issues: Today I found myself the subject of an Internet meme. Not for the first time. This one, however, stands out from the rest. In 2010, semi-retired from acting, I was keeping a low-profile for a number of reasons. First and foremost, I was suicidal. This is a subject I’ve since written about, spoken about, shared about. But at the time I suffered in silence. As so many do. The extent of my struggle known to very, very few. Ashamed and in pain, I considered myself damaged goods. And the voices in my head urged me down the path to self-destruction. Not for the first time. I’ve struggled with depression since childhood. It’s a battle that’s cost me time, opportunities, relationships, and a thousand sleepless nights. In 2010, at the lowest point in my adult life, I was looking everywhere for relief/comfort/distraction. And I turned to food. It could have been anything. Drugs. Alcohol. Sex. But eating became the one thing I could look forward to. Count on to get me through. There were stretches when the highlight of my week was a favorite meal and a new episode of TOP CHEF. Sometimes that was enough. Had to be. And I put on weight. Big f–king deal. One day, out for a hike in Los Angeles with a friend, we crossed paths with a film crew shooting a reality show. Unbeknownst to me, paparazzi were circling. They took my picture, and the photos were published alongside images of me from another time in my career. “Hunk To Chunk.” “Fit To Flab.” Etc. My mother has one of those “friends” who’s always the first to bring you bad news. They clipped one of these articles from a popular national magazine and mailed it to her. She called me, concerned. In 2010, fighting for my mental health, it was the last thing I needed. Long story short, I survived. So do those pictures. I’m glad. Now, when I see that image of me in my red t-shirt, a rare smile on my face, I am reminded of my struggle. My endurance and my perseverance in the face of all kinds of demons. Some within. Some without. Like a dandelion up through the pavement, I persist. Anyway. Still. Despite. The first time I saw this meme pop up in my social media feed, I have to admit, it hurt to breathe. But as with everything in life, I get to assign meaning. And the meaning I assign to this/my image is Strength. Healing. Forgiveness. Of myself and others.
