The former NFL quarterback decided to spend his 32nd birthday feeding the homeless in Oakland, California. According to reports from TMZ, Kaepernick brought out a food truck for those living in Tent City, a large homeless encampment in Oakland. While there, he reportedly paid for every person there who wanted a meal. From the photos of the truck, it looks like some Al Pastor was on the menu. Unsurprisingly, this isn’t the first time Colin Kaepernick has used his birthday to give back to the community. In 2016, he hosted his first Know Your Rights Camp event, where he brought dozens of kids together to teach them about their rights and to learn about social injustice. Source: Dimitrios Kambouris / Getty Alexis Ohanian Is Committed To Fighting For Family Leave After Alexis Ohanian started a paid parental leave policy for his employees at Reddit , he didn’t think he would become one of the most prominent paternal leave advocates in the United States. Since taking four months off from work after his daughter with Serena Williams was born back in 2017, Ohanian has become an unexpected leader in the fight for paid paternal leave. “We implemented a policy that I didn’t think I was going to be using anytime soon, but a few years later I found myself using and talking about [it] publicly.” The Reddit co-founder said in an interview with Business Insider . “Before I went on leave, I planned to use my entire four months and was casually asked about it on CNBC. I didn’t think anything of it other than, ‘Oh, here’s this great policy, and I should use it.’” Now, not only is Ohanian advocating for his beliefs on social media, but he’s taking the fight all the way to Congress. In October, Alexis ended up spending an entire week on Capitol Hill lobbying business leaders and lawmakers for a national family leave policy. “Because Olympia’s birth was such a complicated one and I watched everything that my wife went through and persevered through … I realized that we had so many advantages and yet this was still such a traumatic experience,” Ohanian recalled. “I couldn’t imagine anyone being put in [that situation] without the peace of mind knowing that they had paid leave.” Since the birth of his daughter, Alexis has been using his social platforms to celebrate fatherhood and the way it has transformed his outlook on life. He has become a serious advocate for paid paternity leave, recently partnering with Dove Men+Care to promote The Pledge for Paternity Leave: a program offering grants to working dads to help them care for their newborns full-time. Last month, Ohanian spent a week away from his venture capital firm to meet with Congressional leaders and discuss legislation for federally mandated paid leave. He believes a federal mandate for paid family leave is the best way to ensure all workers–especially those in low wage jobs and with disabilities–can take time off to be with their families. But luckily, while everyone was prepared for Kevin’s situation to become a big legal mess with everyone involved lawyering up , it seems that those involved are just focused on getting back healthy and to 100%. Since the wreck, the comedian hasn’t done any interviews or spoke publicly, other than the Instagram video he posted above. At the moment, it looks like he’s focusing on getting back to work, as his upcoming project J umanji (The Next Level) dropped its first official trailer–which means it’s about time to promote. Just when you thought he was seeing the light and was going to keep quiet while doing his weekly Sunday Service , he announced a new album. And of course, with that new album, comes more of Ye talking out of his azz. For example, his new interview with Beats 1 host Zane Lowe, in which Lowe had to demand he stop referring to his fans as “Liberals” at every turn. Then, Kanye spilled the details of not letting his staff have premarital sex while working on his album . Throughout this and other interviews, Kanye details his newfound relationship with God, which according to him, got him a $68 million dollar tax return , along with explaining how he looks at things differently now–Especially throughout Hip-Hop culture and social media. Basically, he’s going around trashing everything we loved about him before along with all of Hip-Hop culture and the people who created it. These facts rubbed damn near everyone the wrong way, but one person who has the platform for it decided to use it to air out Kanye and his hypocrisy throughout the MAGA inspired propaganda he’s been spewing. Trevor Noah decided to take some time on The Daily Show to air out his problems with the things Kanye West has had to say as of late. Of course after the Beats1 interview, Big Boy Interview, Car Pool Karaoke, and even past Sunday Service rants he had plenty to work with to make his point. “I was watching that, and I was like, are you sh–ting me? Like, of all people. I’m not saying everything he’s saying is wrong, but you are gonna say it? You, as Kanye West, are gonna talk s–t about other rappers talking about buying ‘foreign?’” “You’re saying that 70, 80, 90% of Black people who are voting Democrat, their brainwashed? So you’re saying you’re the only person who’s enlightened, and all these Black people are stupidly following this Democratic-victim?” “The fact that these people are brainwashed, or the fact that, in America, you have to vote for the system that gives you the best chance? You only have two choices, and that does make it weird, but you only have two choices, and if you are a Black person you go, well, I’m going to vote for the choice that gives me the best chance of success.” These quotes are just the tip of the iceberg, as Trevor had a full 5-minute rant for Mr. West. Dre will reportedly receive a tribute from the Producers & Engineers Wing of the Recording Academy on Jan. 22 at Village Studios in Los Angeles before the Grammys ceremony. With a storied career, making classics with the likes of Eminem, 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, and N.W.A, Dre has won a total of six Grammys. Three were for his work as a producer or engineer, while the others were as a rapper. He not only made history musically, he also raised the bar with some of his business ventures with Beats and Apple Music. Congrats Dre!
