David M. Russell | Disney/ABC Home Entertainment and TV Distribution Amandla Stenberg Hits Up Live With Kelly And Ryan, Talks The Hate U Give & More Actress Amandla Stenberg stopped by Live with Kelly and Ryan to talk all about her latest film, The Hate U Give , the meaning behind her unique name, and more. For those who haven’t seen the movie , the incredibly talented 19-year-old shared a quick synopsis: “It’s based on this incredible book, by Angie Thomas, about this girl named Star who is code-switching between two different environments—her neighborhood, which is Black and lower income, and the school that she goes to, which is White and privileged. She kind of has to confront who she is and if she’s willing to speak up once this tragic event happens. She is pulled over with her best friend in her neighborhood, by a White police officer, and the police officer thinks that he’s reaching for a gun, when he’s really reaching for a hairbrush—and he shoots him and kills him.” “It follows the trial as these different communities internalize what that means. Her safety is kind of compromised and she has to make the decision to stand up for her community.” When asked by Ryan Seacrest, “What’s been the reaction from teenagers and young adults?” Amandla responds: “Man, it’s been amazing. I mean, it’s been really emotional for sure…especially for Black girls who feel really represented by it and validated by it, which is exactly how I felt when I read the book. It’s amazing.” Amandla also explained the meaning behind her strong, yet adorable , name: “Amandla means ‘power’ in Xhosa and Zulu. It was a part of an anti-apartheid rallying cry in South Africa.” As for whether or not being named “power” makes her feels any added pressure, the rising star’s response couldn’t have been better: “I guess it’s like a prophecy. That’s the way I like to look at it.” Watch that portion of the interview on the flip. The Hate U Give is in theaters now.

Previously we reported that Delicia Cordon and her best friend who was present during the incident had planned to sue McCoy for an undisclosed amount. Now details of the suit have been revealed. According to TMZ , Delicia Cordon, is demanding at least $10 million and her friend, Elizabeth Donald, is asking for at least $3.5 million for damages suffered in the July 10 incident. Both of the women believe McCoy masterminded the attack — in an attempt to retrieve expensive jewelry and evict Delicia — and therefore should be liable for any damages they suffered. The women say they were asleep when an assailant entered the home at around 3:00 AM WITHOUT forcible entry. Delicia then allegedly went to go check on her son when “the assailant chased Ms. Cordon back into the master bedroom and began to assault her by beating her in the face with a handgun.” Cordon claims the assailant held her at gunpoint and demanded specific articles of jewelry purchased by McCoy. She also says the assailant said that he KNEW McCoy. McCoy denied any involvement in the incident an hasn’t been charged with anything.

Photo by Alex B. Huckle/Getty Images The Braided Bragger Recounts The Details It seems A$AP Rocky has become an orgy aficionado and according to him, he started getting down at gatherings veeery young. Rocky recently did an interview with Esquire , and he dished the intense details about his sex life. He revealed that he often throws group sex events at his Beverly Hills home (which is decorated “in the style of Tim Burton and Wes Anderson ”). All the crowded pleasure happens on a fancy schmancy custom-designed “gigantic” bed that cost around $100,000 to make. Clearly Rocky has a strong investment in his sex life. “The women that I’m around are into that free-spirited sh** like me,” he told Esquire . “And why not? Let’s smoke some good weed in the teepee and have a fun time!” Apparently, Rocky has had a lot of practice and it’s not like the 30-year-old just started getting his feet wet once he got big. According to Rocky, he was barely a teenager when he started getting down with multiple people: “My first orgy was when I was in seventh grade,” he said. “Thirteen years old. Yeah, I was at Booker T Washington [High School] in New York City. My dad had went to jail for drugs, so my mom moved us to a homeless shelter on 104th and Broadway. Our school was like three blocks away, and they used to let us out for lunch, for 45 minutes. The first time was in this apartment building. We took the elevator to the roof, and everybody put their coats on the ground. There were like five girls and 10 guys, and we all just took turns.” Uuuum okay. Despite the questionable details, Rocky didn’t seem to be concerned about the experience. The only thing he was worried about was the size of his peen. “Hopefully you didn’t have a little dick because they’re going to tease you,” he said. “At that time, I wasn’t the biggest guy, but come on, cut me some slack, I was in the seventh grade! Fu**ing bullies!”
Here’s a look at what happens when rich folks have a “friendly little bet.” Meek Mill spent part of his Tuesday afternoon chilling with 76ers owner Michael Rubin — a close colleague who according to TMZ was a big ally for Meek during his stint in prison and the subsequent back and forth surrounding his release. The two decided to put $50k on the line to see whether or not Meek could sink a half-court shot behind his back on what appears to be one of the practice courts for the 76ers. Needless to say…Meek is $50k richer this evening. Judy Eddy/WENN.com/TMZ
