White Privilege is finally becoming something that many white people are aware of and conscious about — at least in this video, filmed by conservative filmmaker Ami Horowitz BUT we think the tactics used here are pretty skewed. For example, interviewing white people outside of a white privilege conference will obviously yield much different results than interviewing a wider range of white folks — especially in less of an academic setting. We’re also perturbed by Horowitz’s decision to question blacks in Harlem outside of a housing project. Why not try an HBCU instead? The other thing that stood out to us is that the white people were asked a different set of questions than the black interviewees. Why would black people be consumed with white privilege? Starlet Says Singer Is Threatening Her Karrueche is nowhere near through with her fight to keep her ex-lover Chris Brown as far away from her as possible. Although other media outlets reported earlier this week that Karrueche “lost” at a hearing on her restraining order against the “Beautiful” singer, BOSSIP has learned that the hearing was merely a technicality where Chris’s lawyer asked for more time on the case because Chris says Karrueche never served him with the court papers. Chris’ lawyer, Mark Geragos, went one step further and asked for the case’s dismissal because Karrueche wasn’t there. But in fact, Karrueche was in New Orleans shooting a movie – but was available by phone, a source close to the Karrueche told BOSSIP. Chris also wasn’t present for the hearing. In the end, the judge ruled that Chris could have more time before the trial starts because of the alleged lack of service, even though a source told us that Karrueche’s legal team have Chris getting served on tape. The “Claws” actress is now set to testify against her alleged abuser in court June 15 during an evidentiary hearing. The judge will also hear from other witnesses, and possibly from Chris himself. “She wanted him to stop threatening her and sending people to threaten her,” the source said. “She has been doing really well on set. We’re just trying to get this chapter closed so she can move on.”

Texas Cop Assaults Hispanic 8th Grade Girl A Texas officer was caught on tape striking a 14-year-old girl in the face multiple times before putting her in cuffs outside a San Antonio Quinceanera party. The girl on the video was taken into juvenile detention on a criminal charge of assaulting a public servant and was released back to her parents on Monday. According to My San Antonio , the girl’s lawyer explained that the girl is an honor-roll student at her middle school with no history of violence on her record, and it’s plain as day that she did NOT assault the officer. House said one officer can be seen in the video “clear as day” striking the girl. The cop in question arrested the girl for assaulting an officer, but the video does not appear to depict the young girl raising her hands to him at all before catching two or three fists from the grown man to her face. SMH!!! Texas is really becoming a hotbed for this shady cop activity . Sadly, incidents like this one aren’t even shocking anymore. Black Parents Use Civil War-era Law To Sue Ain’t Isht Mississippi School Districts The Washington Post reports, The Southern Poverty Law Center is using a 147-year-old legal argument in an attempt to address what it describes as “gross inequities” between majority-white and majority-black public schools in Mississippi. In a lawsuit filed on tuesday, they allege that poor academic outcomes for black students in Mississippi are a direct result of the state’s failure to live up to the terms of its ‘readmission to the Union’ following the Civil War. As part of the terms of readmission, Mississippi was required to create a “uniform system of free public schools” for all citizens, both black and white. However, the state constitution changed several times until in 1890 it allowed only for “separate but equal” systems. Will Bardwell, a lawyer at the Southern Poverty Law Center says Mississippi has withheld their promise of uniform schools, according to the law. “Today, Mississippi schools are anything but uniform. If you’re a kid in Mississippi, your chances of getting a good education depend largely on whether your school is mostly white or mostly black. That is not a uniform system.” Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant clapped back at the complaint, calling it “another attempt by the Southern Poverty Law Center to fundraise on the backs of Mississippi taxpayers.” According to the report, Mississippi is among the nation’s lowest-performing states on many academic measures. Just, terrible.
