Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige announced that two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali would be playing Blade in the MCU remake of Wesley’s classic vamp-slayer flick. Reaction to Ali’s casting was overwhelmingly positive, however, there were some rumblings about whether or not Wesley would fully support the new Daywalker. According to TMZ : “To all the DAYWALKERS losing their minds right now, Chillaaxx … Such is the ‘business’ of ‘entertainment!’ Much peace to the MCU crew – always a fan.” Wesley also gives a shoutout to the late Stan Lee, saying “honor and respect to the grandmaster Stan.” As for Mahershala, Snipes congratulates him and calls him “a beautiful and talented artist whose expressions I look forward to experiencing for many years to come.” He adds that he hopes to work with him some day. According to WRAL.com , Lee Dingle was playing with his children in the ocean at Oak Island when a huge wave forced his head to the ground. His neck broke and his throat swelled, causing his brain to be deprived of oxygen. “A powerful wave at the beach, something totally unexpected,” said April Schweitzer, a family friend. “There was just too much swelling to do anything for him.” Damn. Dingle was 37 and left behind six kids. His wife, Shannon Dingle, wrote on Twitter: “Some heroes – including our kids – tried to save him, but it wouldn’t have mattered what they did. His body couldn’t recover from the initial injury. We met when I was 18 and he was 19, and we’ve been together ever since. I wasn’t supposed to be saying goodbye at 37. According to NOLA , a Gretna police officer in Louisiana, Charlie Rispoli, posted a Facebook comment calling AOC a “vile idiot” who “needs a round, and I don’t mean the kind she used to serve.” A hate crime-y play on words that references the Congresswoman’s bartending past and a bullet. Here’s what police chief Charlie Lawson had to say about his mans: “I will tell you this: This will not go unchecked,” Lawson said. “I’m not going to take this lightly and this will be dealt with on our end. It’s not something we want someone that’s affiliated with our department to make these types of statements. That’s not going to happen.” Lawson said he does not think the comment constitutes an actual threat, but it appears to violate the department’s social media policy, which he said all officers have read and signed. “Whether you agree or disagree with the message of these elected officials and how frustrated you may or may not get, this certainly is not the type of thing that a public servant should be posting,” he said. According to reports from TMZ , sources close to Soulja have explained that his three months in L.A. County Jail served as an eye-opener for the rapper, and now that he’s back home, he’s cutting a lot of unhealthy things out of his life–which includes both cutting people off and cutting down on his time on Twitter and Instagram. One of the biggest changes yet is that Soulja Boy reportedly kicked a bunch of people out of his San Fernando Valley house, the same one that was burglarized while he was locked up. Back in April, thieves hit Soulja’s home and made off with $500,000 in cash, jewelry and his iPhone — which they allegedly used to go live on the rapper’s Instagram account. But, when Young Draco caught wind of the burglary in jail, he was convinced the whole thing was an inside job . In the current day, Soulja was just released from jail last Sunday, getting out 146 days early due to a combo of good behavior, time served, and overcrowding. In April, Soulja was sentenced to 240 days and 265 days of community service for violating his probation.
