Reality Star Has 14 Days To Hand The SUV Over A Long Island judge ordered Basketball Wives star Meeka Claxton to surrender the Range Rover she was behind the wheel in when cops popped her for drunk driving. Meeka now has two weeks to hand over the keys to the vehicle to the police department after a judge ruled she must forfeit the SUV as part of her punishment for DUI. Back in June 2014, Nassau County Police arrested the reality star and estranged wife to NBA star Speedy Claxton, charging her with aggravated DWI – which means her blood alcohol level was above .18. According to court records, Meeka (real name Khameka), was also charged with failure to stay in single lane, changing lanes when hazardous, driving on shoulder and slopes and illegal signal. Police pulled Meeka over while driving a 2008 Range Rover, which was registered to a man named Steven Claxton – it’s unclear of his relationship to Speedy aka Craig Claxton. She later pled guilty to the DWI charge after reaching a deal with prosecutors. However, the criminal case wasn’t even the worst news for Meeka. Nassau County then slapped her with a lawsuit demanding the seizure of the Range Rover she was driving while allegedly intoxicated.

Mom Celebrates Son’s Coming Out With Ad In Paper A mom showed support for her homosexual son coming out as gay with an ad in the newspaper earlier this week. The woman says she wanted to show her son and her city that she was proud of him for living his truth — partially in protest of the city voting against a recently proposed bill that would have legally prohibited discrimination based on sexual orientation , gender identity and 13 other characteristics. Via TexasObserver : Readers of the Houston Chronicle may have noticed an unusual advertisement in the “Celebrations” section of Sunday’s edition. The ad consisted of an announcement from unidentified parents saying their teenage son, “Drake,” had come out as gay. Drake was pictured in the ad but identified only by his first name. Thanks to some cyber-sleuthing, the Observer determined that the teen in the ad is Drake Wilson, a senior who serves as student body vice president at Snohomish High School in Washington state. Joan Wilson, Drake’s mother, said Tuesday that she placed the ad in response to the defeat of Houston’s Equal Rights Ordinance (HERO) in November. “I couldn’t think of a better place than Houston, out of the entire country, where they needed to hear my message of pride,” Joan Wilson said, adding that she believes her son was born gay and created by God. “My announcement was my way of humanizing the issue.” We can’t believe the city voted IN FAVOR of discrimination being legal! Victory! Daniel Hotlzclaw Sentenced Serial rapist Daniel Holtzclaw has just learned his fate. The Oklahoma cop who terrorized and brutalized the bodies of 13 black women will never see the light of day and was handed down a 263 year sentence. Just before the sentencing Holtzclaw’s lawyer tried to file a motion for a new trial but was promptly DENIED. NBC News reports: A former Oklahoma City police officer who was found guilty of raping more than a dozen women while on duty was sentenced to 263 years in prison on Thursday. According to NBC’s Oklahoma City station KFOR, a judge sentenced Daniel Holtzclaw, 29, to 263 years in prison. According to Oklahoma state court records, Holtzclaw’s attorney Scott Adams filed a motion for a new trial — just one day before a judge would officially sentence him. The judge at today’s sentencing hearing denied that motion. Adams claimed that his client was denied a fair trial because “the government made deliberate discovery violations and misrepresentations, undermining confidence in the verdict,” according to court documents obtained by NBC News. In the filing, Adams alleged that a Facebook post by a police detective referenced evidence that was “withheld from the defense by the government.” During Holtzclaw’s trial, thirteen women took the stand and testified that the former cop had coerced them into having sex after threatening to arrest them for possessing drug paraphernalia or on outstanding warrants. NFL Gets First Full Time Female Coach Big strides were made in the sports world today , as the first woman was placed in a full-time coaching position with the Buffalo Bills. Via CBSnews : A New York state sports team made history on Wednesday. As CBS2’s Steve Overmyer reported, the NFL coaching fraternity has officially crossed gender lines. The Buffalo Bills hired the NFL’s first female, full-time coach. Kathryn Smith will be the Bills’ special teams quality control coach. Smith spent twelve seasons in the Jets organization before following Rex Ryan to Buffalo. “She certainly deserves this promotion based on her knowledge and strong commitment,” Ryan said in a statement. CBS affiliate WIVB-TV, Buffalo reported Smith started her career as an intern with the Jets before spending time as a player personnel assistant, and assistant to the head coach. The move comes as part of a new wave of gender progress in men’s professional sports. Just months ago the Arizona Cardinals hired Jen Welter as a temp coach in the off-season.
