Right on the heels of shutting Nancy Grace down over marijuana policy and stating that he’s love to debate Bill O’Reilly, the rapper formerly known as Titi Boi has announced that he’s looking into running for mayor of his hometown College Park . Via WXIA : Could 2 Chainz be adding the title “mayor” to his resume? According to a recent interview with XXL Magazine, 2 Chainz, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, announced a possible future in running for mayor of his hometown, College Park. With a 4.0 GPA from Alabama State University and proven debating skills after his appearance that sparked media attention two weeks ago on HLN’s “Nancy Grace” in regards to the legalization of marijuana, he has a strong chance of being a future politician. “I’m supposed to be running for mayor in College Park. I got everybody wishing. I’m really gonna do this little mayor thing in College Park,” 2 Chainz told XXL. “I’m just trying to make sure I have the right qualifications.” Even though his supporters are rooting him on, 2 Chainz wants to make sure everything he does is organic and wants to see what the future holds. Kevin Gates Key Witness In Club Shooting Police want Kevin Gates’ help narrowing down what happened in an unfortunate club shootout that occurred while he performed in a Kentucky club. Via TMZ : Police in Kentucky want a sit down with rapper Kevin Gates after a shooting at his concert — a crime they think he can help them solve. Cops were called to Gates’ show in Lexington early Sunday morning after shots were fired. One person suffered a non-life threatening wound … and a few others were hurt when part of the audience stampeded for the exit. Law enforcement sources tell us cops think Gates’ position at the time of the shooting — up on the stage — gave him a unique vantage point, and they’re hoping he saw something or someone. If he did, Gates didn’t let on that night — we’re told he actually performed 3 more songs after the shooting … all while standing in the remaining crowd. That seems like an odd move for Gates (who you might remember from that “I had sex with my cousin” thing) … if he’d just witnessed a shooting. We’re told cops are getting radio silence from Gates. We’ve reached out too, and got the same. Hmmm. Well with a closer look, it certainly looks like he could and should have seen SOMEthing. But there were also about 78 other people on the stage who may have seen even more: We would ask who sticks around and keeps performing even closer to the danger after shots ring out only a few feet away from them…but this IS Kevin Gates. Prosecutor Claims Former Black CIA Officer Convicted Of Espionage Was Disgruntled Over Racial Discrimination Is this guy a black Edward Snowden , or is that too much of a stretch? One big difference in this case is that Sterling claims he did nothing wrong. According to NY Times reports : Jeffrey A. Sterling, a former Central Intelligence Agency officer, was convicted of espionage Monday on charges that he told a reporter for The New York Times about a secret operation to disrupt Iran’s nuclear program. The conviction is a significant victory for the Obama administration, which has conducted an unprecedented crackdown on officials who speak to journalists about security matters without the administration’s approval. Prosecutors prevailed after a yearslong fight in which the reporter, James Risen, refused to identify his sources. The case revolved around a C.I.A. operation in which a former Russian scientist provided Iran with intentionally flawed nuclear component schematics. Mr. Risen revealed the operation in his 2006 book, “State of War,” describing it as a mismanaged, potentially reckless mission that may have inadvertently aided the Iranian nuclear program. On the third day of deliberations, the jury in federal court in Alexandria, Va., convicted Mr. Sterling on nine felony counts. Mr. Sterling, who worked for the C.I.A. from 1993 to 2002 and now lives in O’Fallon, Mo., faces a maximum possible sentence of decades in prison, though the actual sentence is likely to be far shorter. Judge Leonie M. Brinkema of Federal District Court, who presided over the weeklong trial, allowed Mr. Sterling to remain free on bond and set sentencing for April 24. “This is a just and appropriate outcome,” Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said. “The defendant’s unauthorized disclosures of classified information compromised operations undertaken in defense of America’s national security. The disclosures placed lives at risk. And they constituted an egregious breach of the public trust by someone who had sworn to uphold it. As this verdict proves, it is possible to fully prosecute unauthorized disclosures that inflict harm upon our national security without interfering with journalists’ ability to do their jobs. While it might seem like this is a case where race wasn’t a factor, it turns out that it did play a role. The prosecution argued that Sterling was disgruntled over workplace discrimination. Liberal advocacy groups have hailed Mr. Sterling as a whistle-blower for taking his concerns about the program to the Senate Intelligence Committee in early 2003, a time when dissenting voices in the C.I.A. were hushed as the country prepared for war in Iraq. The Justice Department and C.I.A., however, deny that characterization. They said that the Iran operation had not been mismanaged and that Mr. Sterling had gone to Congress and then the news media as a way to settle personal grievances. The Justice Department had no direct proof that Mr. Sterling, who managed the Iranian operation, provided the information to Mr. Risen, but prosecutors stitched together a strong circumstantial case. They described Mr. Sterling, who is black, as bitter and frustrated about what he believed was workplace discrimination. Telephone records and emails showed that Mr. Sterling and Mr. Risen had talked frequently, and prosecutors argued that only Mr. Sterling had the information, the motive and the opportunity to leak it. We’re a little torn over this one because we’d hate to be tied up in court for not divulging the identities of our government sources — if we had any. But at the same time, if dude snitched, isn’t he risking public safety and national security? What do you think? Clergy Members Send In Their Pictures To Replace Pics Of Black Men Used For Target Practice By Florida Police via Think Progress When National Guard Sgt. Valerie Deant arrived at a shooting range in Medley, Florida for annual weapons qualifications training in December, she was expecting a typical military exercise. But as she readied for target practice, she noticed several bullet-hole-ridden mug shots of young black men hanging near the range, left behind by the North Miami Beach Police snipers who had just finished using the facilities. That alone was enough to frustrate Deant, but she suddenly came to an even more horrifying realization: one of the pictures was of her brother. Over the past few weeks, dozens of priests, ministers, and seminarians — including celebrated progressive Christian author and pastor Nadia Bolz-Weber — have protested the actions of the North Miami Beach Police Department by using a Facebook page and the hashtag “#usemeinstead”, posting images of themselves and daring police officers to shoot at pictures of collared faith leaders instead of black youth. Kylie Jenner Denies Reports She Dropped Out Of School She might look like a slacker running around in sweats and Tyga’s shirts, but Kylie claims she’s still quite studious . According to People.com: Kylie Jenner is keeping mum about the upcoming season of her family’s reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, but she did put to rest one rumor swirling around her. “I haven’t dropped out of school,” Jenner told PEOPLE on Friday night during the grand opening of the Sugar Factory American Brasserie in Rosemont, Illinois, just outside Chicago. “I still go to school every day.” Although she continues to be dogged by speculation, Jenner, 17, said she remains a home-schooled high school student. She studies at home with a schoolteacher and has about four months to go until she’s done, she added. Once she gets her diploma, “I want to keep doing what I do now,” she said. “I love fashion … I have a lot of interests I’m pursuing.” The youngest of the Jenner/Kardashian sisters did indeed look fashionable. Though temperatures outside were below freezing, Jenner was decked out in a sleeveless, high-necked black Misha Collection open-weave crochet dress, which she paired with Gianvito Rossi high-heeled, off-white sandals with black whip-stitching.
