Clap for ‘em… 8-Year-Old Boy Raises $1 Million For His Friend With Rare Liver Disease A young boy who set out to help his friend through a rare liver disease at the age of 6 has now raised $1 million dollars towards the selfless cause . via AOL News Back in 2012, a then-6-year-old boy wrote a book to raise money for his best friend, who has a rare liver condition. Well, that book has just surpassed $1 million in sales. “I like to go to the beach, that is so chocolate bar,” Jonah Pournazarian said in an NBC interview. “I like to go swimming, that is so chocolate bar,” Dylan Siegal said. That was Dylan Siegel, who is now 8 years old, and his friend, 9-year-old Jonah Pournazarian, reading from Dylan’s book, aptly named “Chocolate Bar.” Dylan says to him, chocolate bar means “awesome.” Jonah is just one of 500 children in the world with glycogen storage disease type 1b. KABC reports every few hours he has to be fed a mixture of water and cornstarch through a tube in his stomach. Kudos to this young man!

Family Of Black Teen Found Hung Suspect His Relationship With White Prostitute Caused His Death The family of a 17-year-old black boy found hung to death with dog leas h in August are now convinced that his death was connected to his relationship with a 32-year-old white prostitute, despite a coroner ruling it a suicide prior to the FBI opening their investigation. via NY Daily News A black North Carolina teen whose hanging has prompted a federal investigation had been the victim of racial slurs for dating a 32-year-old white crack-addicted prostitute, the Daily News has learned. Relatives and friends of Lennon Lacy, 17, have rejected a medical examiner’s report that his August death was a suicide. Instead, they suspect the high school football player was the victim of lynching prompted by his love life. “Someone killed him ‘cause he was dating an older white woman,” Justin Jones, 17, a friend of Lacy. The girlfriend, Michelle Brimhall, has gone into hiding since Lacy’s death. Local police have said they are still investigating Lacy’s death despite the coroner ruling it a suicide. “It is implausible for Lennon to have been able to act alone in hanging himself,” the independent pathologist, Dr. Christena Roberts, concluded in her report. Erica Mena Injured During Love & Hip Hop Premiere Party Shooting Episode one of Love & Hip Hop New York brought the drama in at level 10 on last night’s season 5 premiere episode. But the on-screen action had nothing on the real-life drama that popped off at the premiere party. Apparently an as-yet-unidentified shooter fired off multiple shots inside the party, naturally causing a major panic as party goers ran for the club exit. The panic and confusion led to several injuries — including cast member Erica Mena. Via HollywoodLife : What was supposed to be a fun night at the season five premiere party for ‘Love & Hip Hop,’ at Salsa Con Fuego, a club in the Bronx, turned into a night straight out of a horror movie for Bow Wow’s fiance, Erica Mena! It was the last thing anyone expected. Erica Mena and her cast mates headed to toast the upcoming season of their hit show Love & Hip Hop‘s upcoming premiere and the unthinkable happened. An insider tells HollywoodLife.com that “everyone was having a great time at the party when all of a sudden five gunshots rang out.” How scary! he insider went on to tell us: “Everyone ducked down and hit the floor. Just when people started getting back up and thought it was clear, three more shots went out and it was like a mass exit, everyone was just trying to run and get out of the club.” The scariest part is that Erica, who is engaged to Bow Wow, got “hurt in the shuffle,” says our source. “She had to go to urgent care because she got stepped on as people were trying to get out of the club. She has a big bruise and her lower back is all swollen.” Our insider says that Bow Wow is so upset over this: “Bow told Erica he doesn’t want to see her in a dangerous situation. He said: ‘My wife’s not going to be in just anybody’s club. We’re screening your bookings from now on.’” Her manager and rumored beau, Albee, was also badly injured. “Albee was cut by a glass in the shuffle and had to get six stitches on the side of his left eye,” our source added. “It was a ton of blood and he left the scene in an ambulance. At first, he didn’t know if he was shot or what just because there was so much blood.” We’ve reached out to the police and VH1 for comment. “No one knows who did it,” our source says. “The venue was crowded so they couldn’t see. It sounded like the shots went off right next to you.” SMH. These Love & Hip Hop parties seem to get more and more dangerous in each city as seasons go on.
