Source: Bravo / Getty Terrence Howard Is On The Hook For A 6-Figure Tax Bill It looks like the misfortune of one particular Empire star might be rubbing off on his co-stars. Terrence Howard allegedly needs to pay up on a hefty $140,000 tax bill. According to reports from The Blast , the State of California Franchise Tax Board hit the actor with a lien earlier this year, claiming he owes $143,538.61 for taxes owed back in 2010, plus interest and penalties for not paying the amount on time. The document warns Howard if he does not settle up the outstanding debt, the government could begin attempting to seize his property and assets. The Empire star is no stranger to being hit with some hefty liens, as the same thing has happened before in the past, including owing the IRS $1.1 million back in 2010 and one in 2006 for over $600,000. Both of those previous liens appear to have been settled over the years. Even while dealing with his own financial struggles, the actor is standing by his Empire co-star Jussie Smollett. Back in February, he shared a video of his TV son along with a caption that read, “All your lil homies got you…We love the hell outta you.” Ironically, Smollett also owes some money and the City of Chicago is currently preparing a civil lawsuit to try and force the actor to pay back $130,000 spent by city officials who investigated the case of his alleged attack.

According to New York Post , a longtime fencing coach for Harvard University is being investigated for allegedly recruiting a high school student whose dad bought the coach’s house for far more than it was worth. The real estate deal went down in May 2016 when coach Peter Brand sold his three-bedroom Colonial-style house in suburban Massachusetts. He sold it to Jie “Jack” Zhao for $989,500. However, its assessed value was only $549,300, according to the Boston Globe . Zhao’s younger son was later accepted to Harvard and joined the fencing team. Meanwhile, Zhao, who made loads of money in the telecom industry, sold the house he bought after 17 months. Get this…he only sold it for $665,000, according to the Globe. The $324,500 loss was nearly one-third of what he had paid for the house. The bribery aromas are thick. Needham Director of Assessing Chip Davis said that Zhao’s purchase of the house was so out of line with its assessed value that the property was itching for an inspection. He described the house as being “in bad shape” and wrote in his notes that its nearly $1 million sale price “makes no sense.” Harvard said they were conducting an “independent review” of the Globe ‘s findings, with spokesperson Rachael Dane saying, “We are committed to ensuring the integrity of our recruitment practices.” In the most public college admissions bribery case where 33 wealthy parents were prosecuted, including Felicity Huffman and Lor Loughlin, Harvard was not implicated in the case. Although, a soccer coach at another ivy league school, Yale University, recently pleaded guilty to bribery charges and is cooperating with the feds. Zhao, whose older son graduated from Harvard last year and was also on the fencing team, denies any bribery schemes to get his younger son into Harvard. “I want to help Peter Brand because I feel so sorry he has to travel so much to go to fencing practice,” he told the Globe, which said Harvard is around a 12-mile drive from the house in Needham. Sierra Castle says Cobb County officers refused to put her with female inmates, denied her her medication and ignored her requests for medical attention while in custody. “I was afraid. I was embarrassed. I was humiliated,” Castle told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Peep how f**ked up this is. Sierra went to the police station to file a report about a traffic accident that damaged her car. While at the station her license plate was run and it was revealed that there was a warrant for her arrest for a $15 seat belt fine. While on the way to jail, Sierra says she got nervous about her gender and told the transpo officer that she was trans even though she has had full reassignment surgery and legally changed her name. “I honestly don’t think I should have even said anything, but I was nervous,” she recalled. “I’m not someone who goes to jail. I was scared.” Sierra says that when the officers at the station were told they began to laugh, pat her down inappropriately, changed the gender on her wristband to “male” and altered her records in the system. Dirty game. Sounds like Cobb County is about to either settle big time or pay out a LOT of money.
