After 16 years together, or at least sort of together (when he wasn’t on Rock of Love or putting it to Tish Cyrus ), Bret Michals and Kristi Gibson are engaged! Bret proposed to Kristi – where else – on the finale of Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It on VH1. Gibson is the mother of his daughters Raine, 10, and Jorja, 5. Down on one knee, the Poison frontman said, “Please say yes or the rejection will kill me right now.” Fortunately for all of us, Gibson responded positively! Bret Michaels and Kristi Gibson are making it official! Gibson and their daughters stayed by Bret Michaels’ side earlier this year when he suffered a terrifying brain hemorrhage and then a subsequent stroke. “She’s the one who put up with me all these years,” Bret, who hinted this summer that he might finally put a ring on it , told Us Magazine of Kristi. Immediately after Gibson accepted his proposal , he broke the happy news to the girls: “[I told them] ‘I did it! We’ll all be together forever! Family hug!'” Aww. How can that not make you smile? Congratulations, Bret.

Lindsay Lohan Accused of Battery in Rehab Melee, Claims Accuser Attacked Her First

Another day, another absurd story from Betty Ford. Lindsay Lohan is a suspect in a criminal battery investigation after getting into a scuffle … in rehab. The Palm Desert Police Department is investigating the altercation, which occurred after Lindsay and her roommates went out to A BAR and came back. Upon arriving at their sober house, the incident with a female staffer allegedly went down. Police were called after a ” hand-to-hand battery ” complaint. NOT MY FAULT! There’s always some excuse. [Photo: Pacific Coast News] Cops came to Betty Ford after receiving the call and interviewed both the staffer – who “desired prosecution” – and the oft-troubled star herself. It’s unclear if this was related to Lohan’s rager in rehab this month, but when police finish investigating, prosecutors will decide how to proceed. Whether they file charges is anyone’s guess, but she could be sent back to jail because she’s still technically on probation until August 2011. As for her side of the story, sources close to Lindsay Lohan claim she did NOT strike first, but she did push back in the “physical” altercation. Lindsay is telling people close to her that the drama unfolded when she arrived to the BFC on Dec. 12 roughly ten minutes after her curfew. Lindsay claims the female staff member was “unfairly” scolding her about the situation and demanded the actress take a drug/alcohol test. During the heated exchange that the woman “put her hands on Lindsay.” Lindsay claims she told the woman, “Take your hands off of me.” Then she “pushed back.” Police received a call early that morning, and the star was named as a suspect. The staffer wants LiLo prosecuted. Lindsay feels the staff member had it out for her for a while and believes the staffer may have even been “looking for a final confrontation.” It will be interesting to see this play out, but it’s as if Linds is trying to show we had her low at #8 on our Celebrity of the Year countdown.

Hingis married the French show jumper on Friday in a private civil ceremony in Paris, according to Swiss newspaper Sonntags Blick . She couldn’t be happier. “Our wedding may take some by surprise,” the paper quotes the bride as saying of the couple’s ceremony , “but it has all been planned for some time.” Congratulations to the newlyweds! Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez are serious about getting married. So much so, the engaged Bachelorette couple almost did it quickie-style in Vegas! They decided against it, but only because they want a real wedding. After the twosome watched Jason and Molly Mesnick renew their vows, “I was like, ‘Maybe we should just go with them and get married,” Ali revealed. But “that probably would have upset a lot of people” so the pair, who plan to spend Christmas in Tampa with his family, are focusing on plans for a 2011 affair. Said Ali Fedotowsky , “I’ve been looking at wedding things and I’m always like, ‘That looks tacky. Maybe it’s just the ones I’ve seen are really matchy, matchy.” “I want to make it a little different. Very light and air, I guess, is my theme.” One thing that is set: her bridal party, who will likely wear yellow dresses as they walk down the aisle. “My sister, his sister definitely,” said Ali Fedotowsky. “I have a couple good friends in my life. I definitely have some in mind.” While Fedotowsky has said she’s eyeing Monique Lhuillier to design her gown, she swears she hasn’t lost the tomboy edge that enhances her appeal. “I definitely need comfortable shoes,” she said. “That’s the most important.” Will Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez last?

This ought to give Camille Grammer even more ammunition against her ex … Kelsey Grammer is engaged to girlfriend Kayte Walsh, despite the fact that his divorce from Camille isn’t even finalized yet. Confirms the actor’s rep: “They are engaged. They never really announced it, they are very happy and very much in love.” Kelsey and Camille were married for 14 years, have two kids together and divorced in July. A month later, it was announced that Walsh was pregnant with Kelsey’s baby, although she suffered a miscarriage in early October. Don’t worry if you’re short on details, though: the Grammers’ divorce will be chronicled on upcoming episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills .

No wedding date has been set for Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo. But the former has a plan for when discussions turn to this recently-engaged couple’s nuptials. “I want it to be about her,” Lachey told People . “Any guy will tell you that it’s probably more about the bride than the groom. It’s just about celebrating your love for each other.” And Lachey certainly has a lot of love for Minnillo. “She’s my soulmate in every way,” he said, adding: “She gets me, I get her. We enjoy a lot of the same things and we enjoy each other’s company.” Nick is in a race to the altar with ex-wife Jessica Simpson, who got engaged to Eric Johnson the same week Lachey and Minnillo agreed to marry. But this ex-boy bander isn’t worried about that. He’s more focused on having kids in the near future, referencing the children brother Nick has when asked about that topic. “I’m pushing 40 here, so the time is probably imminent. Everything happens in the right time and for now, it’s good training to be an uncle. Hopefully mine will turn out as good as [Drew’s]!”

Jason London of SyFy’s Weather Wars is heading to the altar with his actress girlfriend of more than two years, Sofia Karstens, London tells E! News. The brother of Jeremy London sealed the deal Saturday night in L.A. when he proposed to his lady love with a ring passed down by her grandmother. “I love waking up with my best friend every morning,” London said, with Karstens adding , “I feel so lucky to have such an amazing man in my life.” Jason London and Sofia Karstens will wed next July 16 .

Actress Vanessa Marcil was not to be outdone by her ex Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox , with whom the former 90210 star recently tied the knot. She got remarried too! A rep for the actress confirms to E! News that Marcil tied the knot with CSI: NY star Carmine Giovinazzo over the weekend. Congratulations to both! “They are married,” said a rep for Marcil , who was also married to Corey Feldman earlier in life. But the actress has only one son, and it’s with Green. Speaking of which, eight-year-old Kassius attended the wedding, bearing witness to one of his parents’ marriages for the second time in under a month. That’s gotta be weird! Marcil and Giovinazzo swapped vows in New York on Sunday night with family and friends. No exes or their superstar new wives present. Go figure.

Having recently rekindled their romance, Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston are now engaged – and not just to bolster her mom’s poll numbers this time! “We got engaged two weeks ago,” the daughter of Sarah Palin tells Us Weekly . “It felt right, even though we don’t have the approval of our parents.” Bristol Palin is 19 and Levi Johnston is 20. They famously called off their previous engagement weeks after welcoming son Tripp in December 2008. After an icy period of estrangement, nasty accusations and PR wars, they reconnected a few months ago while working out custody plans for Tripp. “I really thought we were over,” Levi said. “So when I went, I had no hope. I think we both just started talking, and then we took Tripp for a walk.” Bristol and Levi now and during their previous fake engagement . She says when Levi Johnston left that night, “we didn’t hug or kiss, but I was thinking how different it was. He texted me: ‘I miss you. I love you.'” “‘I want to be with you again’ … I was in shock.” Perhaps the most amazing part, if you don’t believe this is being embellished to sell magazines of course, is that the former Republican Vice Presidential nominee has been kept in the dark about the youngsters’ plans … until now! Says Bristol: “It is intimidating and scary just to think about what her reaction is going to be. Hopefully she will jump on board.” But will she? Sarah and Todd Palin said in a statement: “Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. We obviously want what’s best for our children. Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives.” Sounds like a thumbs-up to us … or not? Either way, congratulations to the young couple. We’re happy for them … but still, we gotta ask … Will Bristol and Levi last this time?
