From supermodels to singers, actors to politicians, it’s that time of the year again. THG is counting down the top 10 stars of 2012, starting with Adam Levine, moving to Honey Boo Boo at #9… Kim Kardashian at #8… President Barack Obama at #7 and, most recently, Kate Upon at #6 . So pick that jaw up off the floor, fellas, and read on to learn about Celebrity of the Year #5: JUSTIN BIEBER! Bieber has grown so huge that backlash against the artist is starting to kick in, with a new report claiming Justin is a pot-smoking diva . But such negativity should not put a stain on the incredible 12 months we’ve just witnessed. It started in JANUARY when Bieber got a tattoo of Jesus Christ on his calf and performed on the Times Square New Year’s Eve special. In FEBRUARY , he then signed his second book deal . MARCH then kicked off with the young star’s birthday and was followed a few weeks later with the smash single ” Boyfriend .” It went platinum. In APRIL, Bieber presented at the Kids’ Choice Awards, starred in an anti-bullying PSA and kissed Selena Gomez in public! In MAY , Justin took to the Billboard Music Awards stage and helped celebrate 100 Digital Shorts on SNL . JUNE was an especially big month for the star, as he released his latest album and performed everywhere Norway to The Today Show in promotion of it. In JULY , Bieber was involved in a high-speed chase as he tried to avoid a paparazzi. Talk of a Justin/ Selena Gomez break-up also circulated around the Internet. AUGUST brought a bit of controversy for The Biebs after he dared to insult Prince William’s hairline . An international incident nearly broke out. Justin was actually offered a minor league hockey contract in SEPTEMBER , while he also got yet another tattoo, this time a crown on his torso . Talk of Justin Bieber nude photos broke out in OCTOBER , but Justin got the last laugh when he pranked the Internet and claimed his computer was stolen. However, it was simply a way to hype his music video with Nicki Minaj. Most of NOVEMBER was marred by talk that Bieber and Selena had split. Let’s just move on. Finally, in DECEMBER , Bieber was totally snubbed by the Grammys and somehow accused of animal cruelty because he gave his hamster as a gift to a fan. What will 2013 bring for Bieber? Who knows. But THG will be there every step of the way!
