According to an Us Weekly source, the former Real Housewife actually auditioned for Pain and Gain on February 27, an upcoming Michael Bay filmthat stars Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Ed Harris. “Bethenny secretly read for a role in Miami, Florida, and she did a good job,” an insider claims. “Although she has no formal training, she has obviously gained a lot of experience working with cameras and she was totally comfortable with what she had to read.” Bay was not present for the audition, but a second mole tells the tabloid it went very well. “They sent her an email after and said how great she was. She doesn’t know when she’ll find out if she gets the part, but the audition was fabulous.” This really shouldn’t come as a surprise. Frankel acted for years like everything she was saying and doing on screen was not scripted by Bravo.
Weeks away from giving birth, Fashion Star mentor Jessica Simpson says she has never felt more in touch with her body, or her sexuality specifically. No wonder Elle features Jessica Simpson nude this month. The hugely pregnant star opened up about her current sex life – oh, did she ever – with fiance Eric Johnson on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show on Tuesday. “I am definitely ‘feeling intimate,”” said the singer/actress, who notes that “I’m kind of unstoppable right now. The Big O is, like, the biggest O ever!” Former NFL pro Johnson, 32, is definitely game, she adds . “He’s always ready,” Jessica notes … wouldn’t you be? During the freewheeling chat, the fashion mogul also explained her decision to go nude for the April cover of Elle. “They didn’t even ask me to,” she said. “It was my idea. It kind of just seemed a natural thing for me to do.” It’s great she feels that way … but what do you think of the cover?
Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum said yesterday that voters can trust his judgment on the environment … and that climate change is baloney. At the Gulf Coast Energy Summit in Biloxi, Mississippi, Santorum basically said that climate change is a liberal myth – in fact, plants are totally doing well! “The dangers of carbon dioxide? Go tell that to a plant, how dangerous carbon dioxide is,” he said. It’s true. Plants eat that stuff up like it’s their job! “I didn’t change as the climate changed,” the ex-U.S. Senator added, seemingly likening Mitt Romney to … the rising global temperatures he denies exist? “I stood tall. Now the climate has changed and everyone’s for drilling now. But please understand that when times were tough, they were not and I was.” In case it wasn’t clear, Santorum said he stands alone in the GOP field as the opposite of President Obama on energy, calling global warming a “hoax.” On Saturday, an op-ed penned by Santorum on RedState (dot) com explained: “The Washington Establishment would rather fight global warming than fight for American jobs … President Obama and his administration have decided to wage war against global warming and thus against the American worker.” “Those living on or near the Gulf Coast in particular know the impact these extreme environmental positions can have on the region’s economy.” What do you think: Is climate change real?
Perhaps he should have spent more time in the negotiating room and less time in the amazon… The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Bear Grylls, star of the Discovery Channel’s long-running hit Man vs. Wild , has been fired due to what a network executive describes as a “contractual dispute.” As a result of this disagreement, this insider says: “Discovery has terminated all current productions with him.” Grylls, who is releasing a memoir in May, has anchored Man vs. Wild since March 2006. The series features the star showing viewers how to survive in all kinds of conditions, against all kinds of elements and enemies. And it’s earned Grylls quite the celebrity following. Jake Gyllenhaal, Will Ferrell and Ben Stiller have all tagged along for adventures with Bear. No one from his camp has commented yet on his ousting.
Russell Brand recently broke up with Katy Perry . And, according to an irate paparazzo, a window. A Splash News photographer, Timothy Jackson, filed a police report against Brand, who allegedly approached Jackson’s car, wrestled away his iPhone and heaved it through a window of nearby law firm, shattering the glass. That’s some arm, if true! Splash has a series of photos showing Russell snatching the iPhone and the apparent aftermath of broken glass at the offices of Deutsch, Kerrigan and Stiles. New Orleans Police are still investigating, but no charges have been filed and there’s no warrant out for Brand. Heck, the NOPD is still trying to ring him up. “We have had several attempts to get in contact with Russell Brand in the past day, all of which were unsuccessful,” a department spokesman tells E! Wonder if it will be called Hypocrisy? When it comes to Adam Levine’s new fragrance – coming May 2013! – Christina Aguilera smells something funny … namely the fact that The Voice coach had mocked the entire concept of celebrity perfumes/colognes about 12 months ago. “Haha @AdamLevine. What a difference a year makes,” Aguilera tweeted along with a link to this tweet that the Maroon 5 singer sent out in March 2011: “I also would like to put an official ban on celebrity fragrances. Punishable by death from this point forward,” Levine wrote at the time. What a difference, indeed. The teasing was all in good fun, though, as Aguilera followed up by saying to her NBC co-star, “Welcome to the celebrity fragrance family!” Levine’s scent, 222, will have versions for men and women, BT-Dubs. Phew.
‘That would work for me,’ Rosado jokes to MTV News about his awards-filled, post-‘Idol’ plans. By James Montgomery Jeremy Rosado Photo: MTV News Jeremy Rosado wasn’t exactly surprised to hear his name called during last week’s “American Idol” elimination show — telling USA Today he had a “gut feeling” that his time was up — but he was rather shocked to hear “Idol” mentor Jimmy Iovine’s criticisms of his performance … mostly because he didn’t think they were warranted. “I didn’t think that it was as bad as a couple of them were saying; but, you know, Jimmy’s a great guy, and he was hoping for the best … unfortunately I guess to him it didn’t turn out the way he wanted,” Rosado told MTV News. “But, I’m grateful, and I’m grateful to [“Idol” judges] Randy [Jackson] and Steven [Tyler] as well. No matter what happened, there were 112,000 people that auditioned for the show, and praise God, they chose me to be in their top 13, you know? I couldn’t be more grateful.” Of course, Rosado is most grateful to “Idol” judge Jennifer Lopez, who not only seemed to be his biggest supporter on the show, but coined his now ubiquitous nickname: Jer-Bear. And then, after he had been eliminated, well, she helped change his mood considerably. “Jer-Bear, yeah, I think I’m going to try and get it copyrighted or something,” he laughed. “Jennifer gave me a kiss on my check twice, and I got eliminated that day, but she made me feel a little bit better … a lot bit better. And to think someone like her or [last week’s mentor] Mary J. Blige [could] fall in love with my voice, and with me as a person? We saw Kristen Stewart shake it and roll one up. Garrett Hedlund talks about the dumb stuff that he does and can’t explain, and Sam Riley sounds disturbingly like Heath Ledger’s Joker. Here are our five key scenes from the “One the Road” trailer. KStew Rolls Deep This is not the Bella Swan you know. This is Marylou, the 16-year-old, reefer-smoking chick that Dean Moriarty (Hedlund) just married. We’re not sure if there could have been a more striking image to let us know that Kristen Stewart has left Forks, Washington, far behind her. A Breezy Drive Let’s take that last part back for one second. If we needed a clearer image that Stewart is removing the mantle of Bella Swan for her future career, we have what looks like a shot of the actress removing something else in the front seat with Garrett Hedlund and Sam Riley: her top. We’ve seen Stewart with an edge in several of her other films, but for “On the Road,” she seems to be bidding “Twilight” adieu in style. The Freakout As a key work of the beat generation, what would a film adaptation of “On the Road” be without a good old-fashioned drug freak-out dance? Here we see Hedlund tripping out and getting his freak on. It’s rare that we see such a loose Hedlund, and the scene gives a good idea of the kind of shenanigans Dean will be up to.
