And That’s Just Cruise Emissions Researchers from MIT and the University of Cambridge in the UK have released a study that attributes about 8,000 premature deaths to emissions from airplanes at cruise altitudes. Landing and takeoff also produce a significant quantity of pollutants, but they are already regulated, while cruising at altitudes of over 3,000 feet isn’t (at least not worldwide)…. Apparently Smallville is still on television, or at least it was until this season. What the hell? I thought that crap went off the air like a decade ago. Anyhow, I guess it’s a good thing it didn’t because we would never have gotten to see Laura Vandervoort dressed up as Supergirl and I think that would have been a shame. I hope this isn’t a spoiler, I wouldn’t want their fan to get upset.
