Joshua Jackson Bags Best Actor Trophy During Genie Awards

Canadian-American actor Joshua Jackson bagged the Best Actor trophy during the Genie Awards. He was awarded for his superb role in the adventure-drama movie ‘One Week’ which he co-starred with Liane Balaban. As he received the honor, he kicked off with his speech and said overwhelmingly “I can’t believe I won something!” Having Diane Kruger, she was there to cheer him on before sharing a very sweet embrace and kiss backstage after his win. Dancing with the Stars: Couples Danced Tango and Rumba

The couples were set to dance tango and rumba for this week’s challenge. Everybody gave their best move. The Monday night’s performance show introduced the first ever “Double Score Showdown”. This allowed the judges to judge the tango and the rumba twice. Each couple received points for their technique and another set for their performance. A total of 60 points will be given for the night’s performance. Evan Lysacek and Anna Trebunskaya have garnered the highest score again, which is 52 points. This has put them at the top of the leader board for the second week in a row. Although the couple was still suffering from a little jet lag, they didn’t miss a step in their tango. It was a perfect blend of artistry and technique. Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough performed a more sensual rumba. This time, one of the judges observed Nicole to be nervous. There were a few missed steps noted. Despite of this, the judges still gave them 50 points, putting them in the second place for the second week in a row. Pamela Anderson and Damian Whitewood are now on the third place when Baywatch bombshell had the ballroom buzzing after her steamy and sensual rumba. Their performance received a standing ovation from the audience. The couple received 47 points. Chad Ochocinco and Cheryl Burke had the best dance of the season. The duo received 44 points. Erin Andrews and Maksim Chmerkovskiy started the tango well but ended it bad. Erin was more focused on her technique. They gained 39 points. Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower performed an attacking tango. It turned out that the couple was not connected emotionally and physically. They got 38 points. Niecy Nash and Louis van Amstel have dedicated their rumba to Nash’s brother Michael. Michael was killed 17 years ago. The crowd enjoyed but the judges felt the other way around. They got 36 points. Aiden Turner and Edyta Sliwinska performed a stiff-rumba. They received 33 points. Kate Gosselin and Tony Dovolani received 32 points. Despite the custody battle with her ex-husband, Gosselin made a mini breakthrough and a step in the right direction, which made this her best dance of the season. Lady Gaga Advocates Abstinence

Lady Gaga’s new routine is celibacy. The singer, who has released music videos which shows some sexy scenes, has surprised even herself with her latest message and that is to embrace abstinence. Moreover, she is encouraging her fans to do the same. When Gaga was in England, where she promotes MAC’s Viva Glam Campaign to fight AIDS, she admitted that she doesn’t have sex. She also added “it’s okay not to have sex, it’s okay to get to know people. She’s abstaining from sexual intercourse and feels that celibacy is fine. Gaga claims that she is recommending a ban on sex for herself in particular because there has been a steadily increasing HIV cases among women around the world, as compared to men. In fact, the HIV cases among men have dropped. Sex is not necessary to feel good about yourself. If you’re not ready, then don’t do it. Shakira In Haiti: Meeting With Quake Suvivors

Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira, whose real name is Shakira Isabel Mebark Ripoll, is not only known as a hip-shaking artist but as a philanthropist, too. Shakira is meeting with the survivors of earthquake that hit Haiti just recently.  Survivors live in makeshift camps and the pop star is searching for a land suitable enough to build a school for needy children. Shakira waved her hand to onlookers and greeted infants as she arrived Sunday. Her Barefoot foundation provides nutrition to more than 6,000 children in Colombia, and she is member of the ALAS foundation that advocates for children across Latin America. Shakira was greeted by actor Sean Penn, who is providing humanitarian aid at Haitian refugee camps. The two stars spoke about challenges confronting Haiti since the Jan. 12 disaster.
