Academy Awards Fashion Face-Off: Kristen Stewart vs. Miley Cyrus

At last night’s Academy Awards, Miley Cyrus made bigger news than Sandra Bullock. The latter won Best Actress , but the former admitted she was dating Liam Hemsworth. Asked whether she was the Australian actor’s girlfriend, Miley said “yes.” Asked if she was in love, Cyrus replied “maybe.” It was a big evening for the young singer/actress, as she then appeared on stage (admittedly nervous) and handed out the award for Best Original Song. But can Miley herself take home the trophy for Best Looking Young Celebrity at the event? She’s matched up against Kristen Stewart in this showdown, as the Twilight Saga star appeared alongside Taylor Lautner and introduced a montage of horror movie clips to the audience. Compare, contrast and vote below… Who looked best at the Oscars?

Kim Zolciak Denies Lesbian Dalliance, Confirms Big Poppa Relationship

You’ll never believe this, but Kim Zolciak isn’t actually a lesbian. By all accounts, she simply stepped out with Tracy Young in order to garner a few headlines and stir up some controversy. In an interview with People magazine, The Real Housewife of Atlanta refers to Young – a British DJ – as “a great friend of mine” and that’s all. What else does she have to say? Find out below… On boyfriend Big Poppa : We’re doing great. He’s fantastic. It’s been so on and off in the last two years, but the entertainment industry is really difficult and takes a toll on relationships. People are so fascinated with any part that has to do with my personal life. And it’s just that. You want to talk about my kids, I’ll do it all day long. You want to talk about my wig line, I’ll do it all day long. But this stuff… it just really makes me laugh. On what she’s up to : My wig line is coming along amazing. I’m doing a celebrity VIP line first, and then I’ll [launch the line for the public] when I get the cost down. And something [else] I’m doing is writing a book on hair and makeup on a budget. And I have more music coming out, which is really great. On her celebrity status : I have two girls in middle school and that’s what people forget a lot of the time. They’re my top priority. I could say a thousand things right now, but I’m trying to lay low right now. Every day it’s something new and it cracks me up. There are 40 paparazzi waiting for me the airport. And to think I wanted this so bad. But I wanted it, and I wanted to be exactly where I’m at.

‘Jersey Shore’ Cast Go Jaywalking With Jay Leno

Perhaps not surprisingly, The Situation, Snooki and friends did not know many of the answers to Jay’s questions. By Gil Kaufman The cast of “Jersey Shore” on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Wednesday Photo: NBC Jay Leno continued his streak of major celebrity bookings on his re-booted “Tonight Show” Wednesday night when the cast of “Jersey Shore” swung by to play a round of “Battle of the Celebrity All Stars: Jersey Shore Edition.” It was the second go-round for the kids — they visited Leno’s ill-fated prime-time show in December for a similar bit. This time, it was the guys versus the girls, as Sammi Sweetheart, J-Woww and Snooki took on Ronnie, Pauly D and The Situation. Asked why she has two w ‘s in her nickname, J-Woww leaned forward to emphasize the bursting-at-the-seams top of her skintight silver dress and smiled, “double the pleasure!” Despite the recent high-profile death of author J.D. Salinger, when asked what the last word in the title of his legendary first novel is, Snooki answered, “The Catcher in the … Closet.” Ronnie slapped his forehead and correctly answered “Rye.” The men were on a roll, as Pauly correctly guessed the final bit of the quote “we have nothing to fear but … fear itself.” And he was, hopefully, kidding when he said it was his mom who coined that infamous phrase. Snooki corrected him and said “Uncle Sam,” only to be saved by J-Woww, who correctly guessed President Franklin D. Roosevelt after a hint from Jay. J-Woww, however, did not know who Federal Reserve boss Ben Bernanke is, incorrectly guessing that the photo Leno showed her was of the president of Iraq. The Situation knew it was “the guy from the banking industry” whose name begins with a “b,” eventually nailing the answer. Explaining that he doesn’t own any stocks, Ronnie had no idea which two animals symbolize the stock market. Snooki gamely guessed the donkey and the elephant, while J-Woww went with tiger and leopard and Sammi guessed lion. “Ohh! I got one right,” she cooed. “No, you just named an animal,” Leno corrected her, revealing the bull and bear as the correct answers. When The Situation complained that the questions were way harder the second time around, Leno shot back, “You’re making more money now!” Mike had a game guess for who becomes president if both the vice president and president die — he said secretary of state, which is wrong — but Ronnie was way off when he guessed “the guy that lost … that came in second place, the runner-up.” But sadly, that wasn’t anywhere close to the correct answer, yet still way ahead of Sammi’s shot, “the wife of somebody.” Ronnie tossed a brick on his second shot after getting the hint that it’s a woman. “Sarah Palin,” he said. “Not so much,” Leno lamented, naming Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. It wasn’t all bad, though, as Snooki correctly named Ireland as the place where St. Patrick’s Day celebrations started, even if Sammi complained that because she’s Italian she didn’t need to know what St. Patrick drove out of Ireland. Ronnie figured it was some kind of car, Sammi guessed leprechauns, and Snooki went with donkeys again, before Sammi finally got to snakes, but only after she named bears and lions. Things got ugly when Jay asked the cast to name the 49th and 50th states in the union, with Ronnie going with Hawaii and Puerto Rico, J-Woww guessing Mexico, and Sammi saving them with Alaska. You can’t totally blame her, but J-Woww mistook a picture of North Korean leader Kim Jong Il for Chinese action star Jackie Chan. Mike knew it was something “Il” from one of the Koreas, which was close enough for a point. Pauly thought a picture of Barbara Walters was actually Joan Rivers, but the girls knew it was Walters with Katie Couric. Even the gimmes were tough, as nearly all shouted out “Messiah!” when asked who wrote Handel’s “Messiah.” “Don’t ever go to Vegas,” Leno warned them. Ronnie got a lay-up when he correctly guessed John McCain on another photo quiz, but it helped that the background of the picture had the former Republican presidential candidate’s name written on it. “I can read,” Ronnie said. Pauly thought a Homo sapien bar is a gay bar, but even that blown answer wasn’t enough to block the men from winning the contest 7-6 over the ladies.

Salma Hayek’s Tits Do a Kids Show of the Day

I just had a conversation with someone about kid’s shows being really fucking creepy. We were talking about PeeWee’s Playhouse because he’s making some kind of masturbating in a porn theater comeback, and like everyone in the late 80s, I used to watch the shit, until recently being forced to watch it again, only to realize just how crazy it actually was. It was sexual, awkward and more than anything, pretty fucking insane. So if you haven’t watched a kid’s show as an adult, you will be surprised how fucking cracked out the shit is, it’s like a bad porno without the sex but instead with creepy tree-hugging hippies singing songs about bullshit and characters only serious hard drug use could think up. It is high energy, I’m talking bouncing off the wall insanity that would normally leave a motherfucker institutionalized if he was to do it on the street corner at 3 in the morning.. Apparently Salma Hayek, an entited mother celebrity mother who decided to do something to excite her spawn decided to pull some strings to show her kid just how cool she actually is and she did it while showing off her tits, making all the kids watching it hungry for milk…and scarring their brain into thinking tit, wanting tit and never quite knowing why they are so tit obsessed until serious therapy unravels this moment 20 years down the line…. Trista Sutter Bikini Pictures

As far as bikini pictures go these shots of The Bachelorette Trista Sutter lounging by the pool aren’t exactly Jessica Alba with her ass in the air , but they’ll do for now because I like pseudo-celebrities in their swimsuits. She looks good though, I think she had a baby too which makes her a pseudo-celebrity-MILF, which is even better for some perverted reason. I don’t know why, I guess I’m just on a hot older bird kick. That and the fact that it looks a little chilly down there by the pool. Nice.

A Formal Offer of Employment for John Mayer, Gawker Columnist [Offers]

On Friday evening, John Mayer publicly apologized to a gathered “at capacity” audience for the recent kerfuffle over his Playboy interview. We would like to now take this time to finally extend a formal employment offer for Mr. Mayer. Dear John – We recently got wind of your apology at Madison Square Garden (“The Garden”) on Friday, February 26, 2009, sometime in the evening, during one of your performances. You explained to the audience before you, and we quote (via the New York Daily News ): “I hate to come off like an a—hole ever, and thank you guys for believing that I am not an a—hole,” he said. “It’s a clean me now, people, clean me….Never, ever, in my entire life did I ever think that it would be a good idea to be an a—hole…But you know what? There’s plenty of a—holes who think the same thing, so I have to thank you.” The article was entitled: John Mayer attempts to rescue his shamed reputation by apologizing – again – for being an ‘a—hole’. Let us assure you, Mr. Mayer, that your reputation for what noted, established urban sociologist Robert Sylvester Kelly once established as ” Real Talk ” has been violently misconstrued; the multitude of your talents has been, in a word, steamrolled. We see them differently. Particularly, as they were intended . It was once noted: ” If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter. ” George Washington said that. And the next person to say the next thing to be quoted in our next recruitment letter can—and should—be you. Why? Because that shit was funny . But an explosive reaction ensued for various reasons, chief among them: the words weren’t entirely coming from you. There was a middleman involved. Sure, you said them. And you took responsibility for them. But you didn’t write them. And you weren’t in control of the context. Which, regardless of the words within, were notably legion . Even the writer of the interview, Rob Tannenbaum, noted: The article is long and it’s complicated. It’s 6,870 words total. Holly Robinson Peete, an actress Mayer mentioned in the interview, called it on her blog “quite possibly one of the longest interviews ever published.” Which isn’t a fact (Playboy publishes an interview of that length every month), but it is a feeling. Articles are much shorter now. So are sentences. Who has time to read 6,870 words? If you just thought to yourself, Not many people! you’re correct. Enter the blog post. Short. Concise. Or shorter and more concise than other things people don’t take time to read. If you could go back and make “Split Screen Sadness” a better song, would you? Maybe. Maybe not. But you can’t . You know what’s nice about blogging? You can . Just ask Nikki Finke . But you probably wouldn’t make that mistake. Given your record of saying things that may offend people, you’re not “batting well.” Given your record of blogging, you’re 1.000 . As previously noted, your takedown of the celebrity paparazzi paraphernalia leech-economy complex was masterful. Your call-to-action against conspicuous media consumption was, in a word, inspired , plunging one of our writers into a bout of insecure paranoia . A good columnist can do this! This all goes without mentioning that everyone thinks you already work for us anyway . Jobs in this media economy are scarce , Mr. Mayer. Your reputation and talent for producing excellent editorial web content—and demonstration of a natural ability for creative prose—can be combined for what we see as a mutually beneficial relationship: an ability for you to get your message out to a wider audience, control it, and grow creatively. With that, the Weekend Gawker Services division of Gawker Dot Com, a Gawker Media property, would like to extend a formal offer of employment for you to join us as a guest columnist. We’ll pay you our regular columnist rate, which, upon receipt notification of this agreement , we’ll discuss further. But one thing’s certain: you can stop apologizing, and start being proactive. We’re in a troubling economy, our talents, diverse as they are, should all be put to good use. For you, for readers, for America. Basically, stop being a pussy and write for us. Or at the very least, get a new publicist. For fuck’s sake. We look forward to hearing from you, and for the fruits this beautiful editorial relationship will bear. So long as they don’t involve any literal incarnations of your penis. Regards, Foster Kamer Vice President of Editorial Content – Weekend Gawker Gawker.com FK/ym DBNR CC: Remy Stern
