Sounds like he was holding the hotline! Freaky phone time is over for Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy, who resigned amid a humiliating scandal over his inappropriate phone calls. Via NYDailyNews reports : Nebraska Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy resigned abruptly Saturday in a scandal involving thousands of calls to four women on his state-issued cellphone, including one woman who said she had a romantic relationship with the politician. Gov. Dave Heineman announced Sheehy’s resignation in a hastily called news conference Saturday morning. Sheehy, a Republican, had been considered the front-runner in the 2014 gubernatorial race and had been endorsed by Heineman. “As public officials, we are rightly held to a higher standard,” Heineman said. “I had trusted him, and that trust was broken.” Sheehy resigned after questions were raised about the cellphone calls with four women, none of whom were his wife, who filed for divorce last year. The calls, made over the last four years, were first reported by the Omaha World-Herald, which had made a public records request for Sheehy’s phone records. Records released Saturday by the governor’s office show Sheehy made thousands of late-night phone calls to the women. He spoke with some of the women numerous times a day in conversations that lasted anywhere from a few minutes to more than an hour, according to the records. One woman he frequently called, Dr. Theresa Hatcher of Bellevue, told The Associated Press that she and Sheehy had maintained a long-term relationship after they met at a convention of emergency responders in Texas in 2008. As lieutenant governor, Sheehy leads the state’s emergency management efforts, and Hatcher is an emergency room doctor. “I thought I was the only one,” she said. “Apparently, I was grossly mistaken.” Hatcher said she last talked to Sheehy about two weeks ago. Video of day care worker taunting three year old black toddler angers mom. A Connecticut mom is fuming after video of her son being taunted by his daycare teacher was passed around town and landed in her e-mail inbox. Tyesha Reese said the cellphone footage of her son Michael being bullied by his teacher at the Sleeping Giant Day Care in Hamden left her stunned, The grainy cell phone footage clearly shows little Michael getting visibly upset as a worker the station identified as Lindsay Cavallaro recorded the taunt. “Do it. Go ahead. No balls. Oh you’re a tough guy. Hey boss, show me your nine,” the woman can be heard saying to Michael, after the frustrated boy said that he would knock the phone out of her hand. The video was passed around the sleepy suburb of Hamden until someone emailed it to Reese. “It got into someone’s hands who actually saw the video and was like, wait a minute, I recognize whose son this is and that’s when they forwarded it to me and said ‘I need you to see this,’” Reese told WTNH, “And when I saw my son’s face it was just unbelievable, you know.” Reese has pulled Michael out of Sleeping Giant Day Care since discovering the incident. All the numerous tendrils of financial corruption are starting to re-converge on the core of the scandal. Here is what happened and how you got screwed by the bankers and the US Government in layman's terms. 1. Wall Street created the mortgage-backed security as an investment device, sold them, used ponzi scheme tactics to make them look immensely profitable while the SEC looked the other way. 2. In order to meet the demand for MDS created by the illusion of major profits from the Ponzi activity, the mortgage bundlers pledged the same mortgages over and over and over again into different investment bundles. 3. In late 2008 the fraud started to appear in US financial circles. Congress, itself invested in the financial firms that bought those fraudulent mortgage-backed securities, voted through TARP to save their own fortunes at the expense of the US taxpayer. 4. In 2009, the foreign banks began to realize that Wall Street had screwed them and began to demand the repurchase of the bad paper. The Fed started handing out trillions of dollars borrowed against the American people, mostly to foreign banks, to cover the fraud. 5. But cash was flowing out of the nation faster than the Federal Reserve could print it up. Something needed to be done to balance the loss and put the bankers back into the black, so the only real hard assets left n the nation, Americans' homes, were to be sacrificed for the good of the banks' capital structure. 6. By perpetuating tax credits that encouraged the offshoring of American jobs to other countries, the US Government created a situation in which millions of Americans would no longer be able to make their mortgage payments and lose their homes to the banks. The banks would then add the full value of those homes to their balance sheets to keep themselves appearing solvent. The US Government deliberately killed your jobs, so the fraudulent bankers could save themselves from prison by taking your homes to cover the buybacks from Europe.
