Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Machete’ Castmates Wish Her Well

Jessica Alba and director Robert Rodriguez praise the actress’ performance, a day after her release from rehab. By Kara Warner Jessica Alba Photo: MTV News LOS ANGELES — Given the fact that Lindsay Lohan was released from rehab just one day before a special screening of her new film “Machete,” the odds of her attending the event were slim. Nevertheless, her co-stars lamented her absence and had wonderful well-wishes for the troubled actress. Everyone from Don Johnson to the film’s leading man, Danny Trejo, to Cheech Marin and Michelle Rodriguez all had glowing praise for Lohan, who plays the rebellious daughter of a powerful senator’s aide. Jessica Alba, who plays a saucy immigration officer, was excited for people to see Lohan onscreen again. “She’s so good in this movie,” Alba said emphatically. “I can’t wait for people to see [her in] it.” “Machete” director Robert Rodriguez agreed. “She’s awesome in the movie,” he said, adding that when audiences see Lohan back in action, on her acting game, they’ll remember why they paid attention to her in the first place. “That’s what they’ll see: the actress behind all that paparazzi nonsense that follows her and won’t leave her alone,” he said. “They’ll get to see her and say, ‘Oh, that’s why we follow her around.’ ” After reporting to the Century Regional Detention Center on July 20 for her 90-day jail sentence, Lohan was released from rehab after less than two full weeks in custody thanks to good behavior and chronic overcrowding at the facility. She went straight from jail to the UCLA Medical Center on August 2 to begin the rehab phase of her sentence for a probation violation from a 2007 DUI conviction. Lohan is said to be going back to work on her Linda Lovelace biopic, “Inferno,” and will continue to receive care on an outpatient basis. Lindsay Lohan Could Be Released From Rehab Wednesday

Actress has served 24 days of her 90-day rehab sentence. By Gil Kaufman Lindsay Lohan Photo: MTV News Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan served just 13 of her 90-day sentence in a Los Angeles jail, and it looks like the “Mean Girls” star could be getting a similarly early release from a court-ordered 90-day stay in rehab. According to TMZ , it’s possible Lohan could get word about a possible early release from a rehab program at UCLA Hospital on Wednesday. Judge Elden Fox was expected to rule on the matter Tuesday (August 24), but instead reportedly put off the decision until early Wednesday morning, at which point it’s anticipated he will issue a new rehab order shortening her court-mandated stay in treatment. This is Lohan’s fourth attempt at rehab, and TMZ has reported that the UCLA doctors treating the actress believe the three-month stay ordered by the previous judge in the case, Marsha Revel, was excessive, and they are recommending an early release. That modification is due, in part, to the belief that Lohan may have been misdiagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and that a prescription given for that malady could have caused her to go off the rails. If Lohan, 24, is sprung on Wednesday, she is likely to continue receiving care on an outpatient basis. Lohan’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley — who could not be reached for comment at press time for this story — is expected to attend the probation-modification hearing. After reporting to the Century Regional Detention Center on July 20 for her 90-day jail sentence, Lohan was released after less than two full weeks in custody thanks to good behavior and the chronic overcrowding at the facility. She then went straight from jail to the UCLA Medical Center on August 2 to begin the rehab phase of her sentence for a probation violation from a 2007 DUI conviction . Wednesday will mark her 24th day in rehab. Related Videos Lindsay Lohan: Crime And Punishment Related Photos The Highs And Lows Of Lindsay Lohan Related Artists Lindsay Lohan

IS THIS RACIST, OR HAS RACISM CHANGED?

i went in to a local bbq resturant to pick up some great eats for when i got home as a birthday treat to myself, and noticed a sign i have probably seen a zillion times in that resturant.it is the tupe of resturant that has all sorts of reasonably funny signs posted through out like: “if you have a reservation your in the wrong place” or my favorite “this sign serves no purpose other than to take up space and waste the time of you the reader” while i was waiting for my dinner, i read a plaque that said: “i dunn been left by my man he dunn runned off wid my best fren i sho duz miss her” wich alone is a little sketchy to me, but who says it aint a slap at apalachian hillbillies too right.but i cant shake this feeling, cuz the plaque was shaped and painted like a slice of watermelon. did the turn of the century black stereotype some how stop being racist? did watermelom get taken off the table like horns with jews? the resturant was rib city by the way. just wondering if im missing something that makes this not racist. added by: freecrack

‘Avatar’ Producer Explains Sequel Process

Jon Landau says the creative team will get started even before James Cameron has a script. By Eric Ditzian Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana in “Avatar” Photo: 20th Century Fox Eight months after the record-breaking release of James Cameron’s “Avatar,” and with an expanded re-release just weeks away, the writer/director already has a massive trove of notes for a sequel . Eventually, he’ll weave together plot strands from that hodgepodge of Pandora-based brainstorming. When that process might begin — from notes to script — is anybody’s guess, but as Cameron’s longtime producing partners, Jon Landau, told MTV News, the filmmakers aren’t going to wait for a draft before they begin to re-create the world of “Avatar.” The creative team will begin work on creature and environment development “as soon as Jim locks in on some of those notes,” Landau explained. “We don’t have to wait for a script for that. And there are also certain things we designed from the last movie that didn’t make it in that I’m sure will make it in on the next movie.” For now, Landau described his producer role as a two-fold job. “I’m a sounding board for those ideas [in Cameron’s notes],” he said. “And I’m looking to see how we can do what we do better — researching technologies and talking to people and pressing all those frontiers.” Filming on the first “Avatar” began in 2007, and whenever the sequel goes into production, Landau anticipates significant technological innovations when it comes to cameras and the capabilities of Weta Digital, which created the visual effects for the first flick. “It’s not like I’m thinking, ‘OK, let’s do it again and we’ll do it exactly the same way,’ ” Landau said. “Let’s do it better. Let’s do it more cost-effectively. Let’s be training our people now and getting them involved. If you look at ‘Titanic’ to ‘Avatar,’ what happened in the visual-effects world is that everything became more cost-effective, more time-efficient and at a higher visual quality. It doesn’t mean when you look at ‘Titanic’ now, you go, ‘Oh that’s a bad movie.’ It’s the same thing now.” Just don’t prod Landau to explain what he means by “now.” Asked what his ideal start date for a second “Avatar” would be, he said simply, “Most definitely this century.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Avatar.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Bill O’Reilly: Jennifer Aniston Sends a Bad Message, is Destructive to Society!

Bill O’Reilly. You have to give the Fox News host credit for speaking his mind, and not everything that comes out of his mouth is outrageous, but sometimes … come on man. His newest target is Jennifer Aniston. The actress, famously lonely pathetic haggard miserable single at 41, recently said she doesn’t need a man to have children. “Women are realizing it more and more, knowing that they don’t have to settle with a man just to have that child,” she said at a press conference for The Switch . “Times have changed and we do have so many options these days, as opposed to our parents’ days when you can’t have children because you waited too long.” Bill takes serious exception to Jen’s point. Personally, we didn’t interpret that as a call for premarital, unprotected sex and single-parent child-rearing, but some people over at Fox News Channel did. “She’s throwing the message out to 12- and 13-year-olds, ‘Hey you don’t need a guy. You don’t need a dad.,’ O’Reilly said. “That is destructive to our society.” Really, Bill? Teens are going to have sex and raise kids without a man’s help because Jennifer Aniston says it’s easier these days than in generations past? Apparently. Fox’s Gretchen Carlson said, “She is glamorizing single parenthood.” In The Switch , Aniston plays Kassie, a single woman seeking a sperm donor. An adult who made a conscious choice to raise a child alone, and likely thought about the consequences first … a little different than what Bill’s implying right? You tell us: Is she sending a bad message or should Bill lay off?

Kate Middleton and Prince William: A Ruined Romance or A Wedding on the Way?

Kate Middleton and Prince William have either set a date for their wedding… … or called it quits due to a lack of one. It all depends on which tabloid story one believes, as two of the nation’s most ridiculous, least reliable publications have come out with opposing reports this week. See for yourself: On one hand, it makes sense for Middleton to “cozy up to [William’s] best friend’s brother,” as teased above; she’s allegedly angry at him for continually cheating over the years . Then again, the couple reportedly stands to inherit $20 billion if they tie the knot. Could they really turn such a sum down? Of course, these reports are all based on tabloid tales that quote anonymous sources; change facts more often than Bachelor contestants call off engagements; and capitalize whatever headlines will sell the most copies each week. Without an Royal engagement even announced, just click on the pics below to see what nonsense various rags have claimed about Middleton and William over the last few months:

Book Her: Lindsay Lohan Jailed!

Lindsay Lohan is going to jail. The troubled star surrendered in court this morning to begin serving a three-month sentence for violating the probation terms of her 2007 DUI conviction. In reality, Lindsay may spend only about three weeks behind bars, due to the overcrowding of the facility she’s headed to. Assuming she behaves herself. Judge Marsha Revel did not allow the media to capture the exact moment of Linds’ surrender (good for her, bad for us), before ordering her into custody. “At this time, she will be remanded,” the judge said as Lohan was about to be cuffed, adding “All cameras are ordered to be shut off, both still and video.” Revel said Lohan would not be eligible for house arrest or work release. She will also be required to report to probation within 24 hours of her release. Lindsay Lohan did not speak in court this morning. After cameras were shut off, deputies took her away and removed her belongings as old/new lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley and her family looked on. “I love you, Lindsay,” said Michael Lohan, who unfortunately showed. Lindsay will now begin processing at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, Calif., where she will spend her sentence, however long that is. Processing entails fingerprinting, photographing (new mug shots!), cell assignment, ankle monitor removal and a wardrobe change (orange jumpsuit!!). Back in 2007, Lohan spent just 84 minutes at this same facility. Not long enough, apparently, to change her destructive behavior in any discernible way. Here’s hoping a few weeks or more does the trick this time around. What will be the biggest obstacle for her, no Twitter, no friends or no cigarettes ? We’ll find out soon enough.
