We may soon have another Chick-fil-A situation on our hands. In an interview on an Italian radio show today, Barilla Group Chairman Guido Barilla said his company would never run an ad with a “homosexual couple.” He then explained why: “Not for lack of respect but because we don’t agree with them. Ours is a classic family where the woman plays a fundamental role.” Barilla Pasta Chairman Slams Gays According to a Reuters translation, Barilla said of any firestorm that may come his way as a result of this stance: “If [gays] don’t like it, they will not eat it and they will eat another brand.” In June of last year, Chick-fil-A COO Dan Cathy made it clear that he’s an opponent of gay marriage . It was then revealed that the chain donated millions of dollars to anti-LGBT rights movements, prompting a boycott from activities and other offended by these revelations. Now, many in Hollywood are reacting in a similar way to Barilla’s remarks. “Barilla has a right to believe whatever they want,” Chrissy Teigen Tweeted. “And I have the right to boycott them or fully fund a gay porn made in a tub of linguine.” Adds author Jodi Picoult: “Thinking of lasagne? Skip over Barilla pasta.” Barilla later apologized for his remarks, saying in a statement: “I only wanted to underline the central role of the woman in the family.” Still… many are pissed. Are you among them? And should folks boycott this pasta brand in response? Yes, what offensive remarks! No, that stuff is delicious! No, who cares what the chairman of a company believes?!? Black GOP Group Files Article Of Impeachment Against Obama Of course the National Black Republican Association would be based out of Florida … According to Fox Nation: The National Black Republican Association (NBRA) based in Sarasota, FL, headed by Chairman Frances Rice, filed Articles of Impeachment against President Barack Obama with the following language: We, black American citizens, in order to free ourselves and our fellow citizens from governmental tyranny, do herewith submit these Articles of Impeachment to Congress for the removal of President Barack H. Obama, aka, Barry Soetoro, from office for his attack on liberty and commission of egregious acts of despotism that constitute high crimes and misdemeanors. On July 4, 1776, the founders of our nation declared their independence from governmental tyranny and reaffirmed their faith in independence with the ratification of the Bill of Rights in 1791. Asserting their right to break free from the tyranny of a nation that denied them the civil liberties that are our birthright, the founders declared: “When a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” – Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776. There are 10 articles listed, but these stood out the most: ARTICLE 9 He has violated the Constitution when, on January 4, 2012, (1) he bypassed the U. S. Senate to appoint three members of the National Labor Relations Board, actions that were ruled unconstitutional by the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit which affirmed previous decisions by the Court of Appeal for the D.C. Circuit and the Third Circuit; and (2) he bypassed the U. S. Senate to appoint Richard Cordray to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. ARTICLE 10 He has intimidated whistleblowers and brought twice as many prosecutions against whistleblowers as all prior presidents combined. Egregiously, while refusing to prosecute anyone for actual torture, he prosecuted former Central Intelligence Agency employee John Kiriakou for disclosing the torture program. Wherefore Barack H. Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, by such conduct, warrants impeachment and trial, and removal from office. Discuss… Continue reading →

If Teresa Giudice is looking for sympathy these days, she may wanna look someplace other than in the heart of a former member of the Bravo family. With Giudice and her husband facing 39 counts of fraud and up to five decades in jail, Bethenny Frankel was asked yesterday about Teresa’s legal plight. “I haven’t paid that much attention,” Frankel said at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. “Do I feel sorry for them? No, I don’t. Not so much, because it broke the law. You broke the law and you went on television. That’s not really that smart.” Frankel is going through an ugly divorce from Jason Hoppy , however. And because the estranged couple has a young daughter, the talk show maven and successful entrepreneur does feel for Teresa and Joe Giudice’s four children. “Their kids didn’t sign up for this,” she said. The Giudices are the parents to Gia, 12, Gabriella, 10, Milania, 7, and Audriana, 3. They are due in court against on August 14 and Joe Giudice – technically an Italian citizen – could be deported if he’s found guilty on certain charges. Teresa is doing her best to remain calm in the face of such a possibility. Teresa Giudice Spinoff Ideas: On Hold
Laura Whitehurst, a former California high school teacher, pleaded guilty to having sex with a minor student – whose baby she recently gave birth to. She agreed to one year in jail, five years’ probation, lifetime registration as a sex offender and sex offender counseling. She will be sentenced August 28. She pleaded guilty to sex crimes charges in a deal that entailed her admitting unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation of a person under 18. Yes, it is called that. Teacher Pleads Guilty To Having Sex With Students Laura Whitehurst was a teacher at Citrus Valley High School in Redlands, Calif., giving birth June 18 and resigning from her position earlier this month. The unnamed student was 16 at the time of the tryst. “One thing led to another, and he ended up at her residence, and it’s been going on approximately one year now,” said Redlands police Cmdr. Shawn Ryan, adding. “She was open with her pregnancy. I don’t know what her story was to everybody else, but it was an open pregnancy. The school district knew about it.” The mother of the now-17-year old victim learned of her son’s dalliance with Whitehurst and called the cops, who subsequently launched an investigation. She was being held on $500,000 bail. Whitehurst could have gone away to prison for a LONG time, as she faced 41 felony counts – one for each copulation, apparently – with the minor.
The death of Cory Monteith will be addressed in the third episode of the coming season, Fox’s Chairman of Entertainment Kevin Reilly said this afternoon. “The third episode will write Finn out … that episode will deal directly with the incidents involved with Cory’s passing and the drug abuse in particular,” he said. He would not confirm rumors that Finn also dies of a drug overdose. However, creator and executive producer “Ryan [Murphy] will shoot some PSA’s with the cast, who will speak directly to the audience,” he said. Additionally, all the proceeds resulting from sales of the Glee music in that episode will go toward forming a foundation in Cory Monteith’s memory. Last month, Murphy addressed and mourned Monteith’s passing. “We will begin shooting in late August the two shows we had already written, so that people can physically go back to work,” the show creator revealed. “We will then do an episode that will deal with the death of Finn.” Following a long hiatus after that, “I don’t know exactly when we will come back, and we are trying out best with this attempt at damage control.” Monteith died at the age of 31 from mixed drug toxicity, involving heroin and alcohol, the British Columbia Coroners Service confirmed on July 16. Glee Season 5 premieres September 26 on Fox.

According to The New York Post , the conservative host will then take a brief hiatus and premiere as a co-anchor on Fox & friends this September. “Elisabeth’s warm and engaging personality made her a star on The View,” Fox News Chairman & CEO Roger Ailes told the newspaper. “She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise.” Hasselbeck will join Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmead on the Fox morning program, while Gretchen Carlson will shift move to daytime. Said Barbara Walters in a statement: “When Elisabeth survived Survivor we wanted to make sure she would stay afloat. Possible replacements include Brooke Shields, NeNe Leakes and Jenny McCarthy .
May 3, 2013 – NEW YORK – Today, Jay Penske —Founder, Chairman and CEO of Penske Media Corporation (PMC), which owns the Movieline brand—announced website Movieline.com’s reinvention : a bold launch into the online video space. Penske said, “We’re seeing the growing demand for online video and the appetite advertisers have to reach these focused audiences. Over the last year, we’ve had incredible success with our multi-platform video entertainment news network Entertainment News Television (ENTV) and are eager to expand our reach in the field.” Starting immediately, Movieline will begin producing video content under its distinctive brand. These new segments will be three-fold: Movie Previews, Talent Previews, and News stories. All segments will be hosted by Tatiana Carrier and will run approximately 2 to 3 minutes in length. PMC’s Chief of Video Strategy and GM of ENTV Michael Davis will executive produce and oversee the Movieline brand moving forward. The first segments to air will be movie previews – essentially a consumer’s “Movieline” for all the latest films slated for upcoming theater release. These videos will include the film’s storyline, scene footage, cast interviews, and red carpet moments. As an added bonus, these Movieline segments will also feature a unique and interesting tidbit about the film – to further pique a potential viewer’s interest in the film and also enhance the eventual movie-going experience. Said Davis, “We wanted to create the perfect complement to movie trailers – a more dynamic and all-inclusive segment targeted to moviegoers’ interests, delivering them the information they need to make a decision on what to see at the theaters, while also creating a library of evergreen content that works for DVD, VOD, and all other release moments in the life of a movie.” The next wave of Movieline segments will feature film talent—top actors, directors, and producers—previewing the films and projects each has in the release pipeline. All of these segments will be supported with breaking news updates powered by PMC’s reporting prowess that includes a dynamic range of today’s most respected entertainment brands: Variety , Deadline Hollywood , Hollywood Life , TVLine and more. Yet another unique aspect of Movieline’s reinvention is that PMC will be launching this experience on the YouTube platform, with syndication to other platforms to follow. Through their YouTube Original Funded Channel ENTV, PMC has seen great success and growth on YouTube, with over 135M views on the channel in its first year. PMC has also expanded its YouTube efforts with the inclusion of a multi-channel network (MCN) called PMC Studios. Movieline will incorporate into its segments the content from its MCN channel partners—including BlackTree Media, Beyond the Trailer, Variety and others—therefore launching a consumer-facing and focused channel for PMC’s entertainment vertical properties. Soooo what exactly are they trying to say with the accessories though? Parents beware. Mattel is under fire for opening the door on the ugly immigration debate with their latest toy. Via International Business Times reports : A new Mexican Barbie in Mattel’s “Dolls of the World” series has sparked outrage for what opponents argue is an offensive depiction of Mexican culture. According to Fox News Latino, the new line of Barbie dolls was launched to appeal to a more “diverse generation” of customers and boasts a number of dolls from Latin America. But the Mexican Barbie, its newest addition, sparked a particular backlash when journalist Laura Martinez mocked it on her blog, writing, “The folks over at Mattel are so smart, that not only they have come up with a Mexican Barbie, but they have given her all the possible tools to go around the U.S. the world undisturbed [sic].” By “tools,” Martinez was referring not to the Barbie’s fiesta dress and pet Chihuahua, but more specifically, to the passport and sticker sheet she came with. “It is not for me to inform you about the ‘play value’ that a passport provides, so go ahead! Play with your Barbie Mexicana and don’t even think of calling her indocumentada,” Martinez wrote. While the bright pink passport isn’t specific to the Mexican Barbie (a passport comes included with all of the Barbies in the “Dolls of the World” collection, which was created in 1980) its inclusion struck a nerve among readers on sites like Twitter and Reddit. “’Mexican Barbie’: Only doll in International Collection that needs to show her passport. Unbelievable,” Twitter user @CSGRealty wrote. “Uh, #clueless? Mexican Barbie: Doll Comes With Documentation And Passport” journalist @AnneKeramer tweeted. In an interview with Fox News, Chairman and Co-founder of the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts Felix Sanchez didn’t seem to take issue with the passport, but he said that Mattel could stand to modernize their dolls and make them less stereotypical. “It would be nice to see some contemporary images from these countries,” Sanchez said. “These images seem very dated and seem to have been created for a different time.” Sara Rosales, a spokeswoman for Mattel, said that the Barbie was created to help foster learning and appreciation of different countries and cultures. “Girls enjoy exploring the world and learning about different cultures through play,” Rosales said. “The Barbie brand understands the significance of introducing new cultures to girls in a relatable way.” If all the dolls come with a passport it doesn’t seem like a huge issue, but times are definitely changing and all corporations need to come with some serious cultural sensitivity training. Do you take issue with Mexican Barbie or is this just another excuse for people to get riled up over every little thing?
Rupert Murdoch, the chairman of News Corp. and owner of Fox News, said that the tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut this week made it clear that it is time to ban automatic weapons in the United States. The News Corp chairman used the social media platform Twitter to express frustration at the easy availability of automatic and semi-automatic guns in his adopted country. “Terrible news today,” he tweeted. “When will politicians find courage to ban automatic weapons? As in Oz after similar tr
