‘You’ve heard the Lone Ranger’s story; you just haven’t heard it from this guy,’ Gore Verbinski tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Gore Verbinski Photo: MTV News Now that Disney, Gore Verbinski and Johnny Depp have ironed out most of the budget kinks surrounding their production of ” The Lone Ranger ,” we can all rest easy that the masked man and his trusty sidekick Tonto are headed to the big screen soon. When MTV News caught up with Verbinski at the Hollywood Awards Gala last night, where his quirky animated film “Rango” received the Hollywood Animation Award, we asked how he was feeling about the film and what his plans are for the adaptation. “I feel great. We’re not shooting a Western in the middle of winter; the whole thing is pushed into a more reasonable time of year, so now we have to go make the movie,” Verbinski said, speaking to the film’s new May 31, 2013, release date. “There’s been a lot of talk. Hopefully in a year and a half we’ll have something we can talk about.” Verbinski went on to say that he’s been hard at work on the screenplay for two years and that the central character is not the Ranger. “It’s all built around Tonto,” he said. “You’ve heard the Lone Ranger’s story; you just haven’t heard it from this guy. He was there.” Depp has already teased that their take on the beloved duo’s western adventures will be “interesting,” to say the least. “I like the character. I think I have interesting plans for the character, and I think the film itself could be entertaining and very funny,” he said. “But also I like the idea of having the opportunity to make fun of the idea of the Indian as a sidekick — which has always been [the case] throughout the history of Hollywood. The Native American has always been a second-class, third-class, fourth-class citizen, and I don’t see Tonto that way at all. Now that this is a bad thing, says the actress in the new Marie Claire. “I’m excited to begin a new phase in life,” the 32-year-old actress says. “Roles I may have been afraid to play before, places I want to travel to with my daughter. I’d like to build a design business. But not too fast. When she’s not playing a slutty pumpkin on How I Met Your Mother , Holmes is first and foremost a mom to adorable five-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise. We haven’t seen much of our favorite flapper, Lucy ( Paz de la Huerta ), on this season of Boardwalk Empire . That’s because she’s been hidden away in a gloomy boarding house by the father of her illegitimate child (we won’t completely give it away, but we can tell ya- it ain’t Steve Buscemi ). Paz returned to fully nude form this week, but we’ve got good news and bad news. The good news? Paz bared boobs, bush, and butt as she skinspected her naked, pregnant body in the mirror. She isn’t really knocked up- the belly was a prosthetic- but the rest of her was the genuine nude article. The bad news? R. Kelly and Atlanta’s own Cee Lo Green will be a part of the remake of the 1979 film “Sparkle.” Kells won’t be acting, but will oversee the music soundtrack. Cee Lo has been added to the cast and is also going to sing on the soundtrack since his character is the opening act for the group the film is centered around. Some photos of the “Twilight” star on the set of “Snow White and the Huntsman” have hit the Internet. In them, Stewart is wearing her previously teased armor as she films scenes at Marloes Sands Beach in Pembrokeshire Wales, U.K., this week. Photos on Screenrant.com show the actress riding a white horse alongside a group of extras dressed as medieval soldiers. They are riding through the water for what appears to be some sort of battle scene. In some on-set candids, the ponytail-sporting actress laughs and walks around the set of the Rupert Sanders-directed flick. Stewart recently debuted her longer locks for the film at London Fashion Week. No signs of co-stars Charlize Theron (the Evil Queen), Chris Hemsworth (the Huntsman) or Sam Claflin (Prince Charming) in the new photos. The film is expected to open June 1, 2012. “It’s not a little girl sitting by a well with little tweety birds telling her what to do and where to go,” Stewart told MTV News of her character. “[The costume] makes you feel kind of strong occasionally, sometimes, but I kind of feel tiny, my pinhead sticks out of these enormous things.” Her tough look has even been approved by that other “Snow White” movie director, Tarsem , who recently gushed over her battle-ready look. “She’s gorgeous,” he told MTV News. “She’s great.” The film centers around the struggle between Snow White and the Evil Queen, who, jealous of Snow White’s beauty, wants to destroy her. The catch is that Snow White has been training with the Huntsman, who has been ordered to kill her. I’m not up to date on Jessica Biel’s work schedule, but whatever it is she’s working on now looks absolutely terrible. I have no idea what it is, but if they decided to make her character a disgustingly pregnant chick who wears velour tracksuits, it’s already got my vote for worst movie of the year. Jessica should have roles that involve short skirts, tight pants and possibly a tasteful girl on girl scene in a hot tub. Nothing too raunchy, something very tender between two gorgeous females. Jessica Biel in a fat suit… Big mistake.
