The Canadian-born Anderson, who is a long-time animal rights activist, revealed her childhood ordeal during a speech to 200 guests, the Daily Mail reports. She said she “did not have an easy childhood” and “despite loving parents,” she was molested at the age of six by a female babysitter. The 46-year-old then revealed how she was raped at 12 by a 25-year-old man. “I went to a friend’s boyfriend’s house and his older brother decided to teach me backgammon which led into a back massage, which led into rape. My first heterosexual experience,” she said. “He was 25 years old and I was 12.” Anderson went on to reveal how her high-school boyfriend “decided it would be funny to gang-rape me with six friends. According to Radar Online: Real Housewives of Atlanta star Apollo Nida will be in court in just a few weeks to finally face charges of bank fraud and identity theft. But in the meantime, he hasn’t stopped trying to make a buck. After shilling autographs online for $6.99, now he’s aimed higher: RadarOnline has exclusively learned that the shameless reality TV star has demanded $2,000 to attend a charity event for battered women and children — and he wants to be paid up front! Chase DeCarlo of Dio Bambini, a charity for battered women and children, tells Radar exclusively that he approached Nida, along with fellow RHOA castmate Kandi Burruss, to attend an event raising money for the fund. “At first I thought he would do it for free,” DeCarlo says. “His people were saying … he wouldn’t mind appearing.” But that quickly changed. DeCarlo says, “At first it was like, ‘Ok, I’ll do it for $2,000.’” Then, DeCarlo says he bargained him down to “about $1,200. It’s still a lot, but we’re still in discussion. He just sent me a contract for $2,000!” “We’re trying to get Kandi to come too, and she said she would come for free,” DeCarlo reveals. “I’m still talking with my people to see if it’s worth it getting Apollo to come at all. They had a good run. VH1 Show Single Ladies Cancelled Bad acting? Poor ratings? Who knows. But for whatever reason, Single Ladies has been kicked to the curb. According To The Hollywood Reporter: VH1 will not continue on with Single Ladies. The music-themed cable network has opted to cancel the hour-long dramedy after three seasons, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. “We’ve been proud to deliver three seasons of the drama, romance and style that engaged viewers in each episode of Single Ladies,” VH1 said in a statement. “Although we’ve decided not to move forward with another season, we hope to work again with the talented cast, creatives and producers as well as our partners at Flavor Unit Entertainment in the near future. We also thank the show’s fans for their support since the premiere in 2011.” The series, which stars Charity Shea, Denise Vasi and LisaRaye McCoy, is currently wrapping up its third run on the network — which used an e-book written by New York Times best-selling author Ashley Antoinette to bridge the gap between its second and third seasons. Single Ladies centered on three best friends with different philosophies on love, sex and relationships, proving that not all women have the same desires. The series had survived some cast turnovers when Vasi replaced former lead Stacey Dash, who exited the series in its second season. In its third season, Single Ladies is averaging 2.2 million total viewers, on par with its sophomore run. Will you miss LisaRaye, Denise and Charity?
Shayne Lamas is feeling better, at least from the standpoint that she is now in stable physical condition, in the wake of her miscarriage this past Sunday. The Bachelor winner, 28, is still hospitalized but breathing on her own following a scary pregnancy complication, her husband Nik Richie said in a statement : “We would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for the immense support we’ve received from our family, friends, fans, and media.” The founder of celeb gossip site The Dirty added, “It is really amazing how everyone has come together for Shayne, Press, and I during this extremely difficult time.” Yes … Press is the name of the couple’s daughter, whom Shayne and Nik welcomed in November 2011, a little over a year after they married in 2010. The statement continued with an update on Shayne Lamas , who is “breathing on her own now and doing better; we have high hopes for a speedy recovery. “At this time,” Nik added of her condition, “we are still trying to process everything that happened and we thank everyone again for giving us this time to heal.” Lamas was rushed to the hospital after she collapsed Sunday at home, requiring “life-saving emergency surgery” and the air of “a ventilator system.” Shayne was in a coma , but has now improved. “We are so very grateful to the hospital personnel and the doctors who saved her life last night,” Lamas’ father, actor Lorenzo Lamas, said in a statement. “Shayne is aware of her condition.” “Her family and her husband are here with her and love her so much. This world is really changing … High School Crowns Transgender Student Homecoming King Via NewsOne reports: Blake Brockington recently made history when he became the first transgender teen in the state of North Carolina to be crowned homecoming king, according to WCNC. The 17-year-old senior made headlines earlier this year when he was nominated by his peers at East Meck High School and had to compete against 13 contenders for the covetous title. In order to win the honor, Brockington, who was born a girl but identifies as a male, had to raise the most money for Mothering Across Continents, an international non-profit working to build schools in South Sudan. He managed to raise an impressive $2,335.55 of a total $3,203.22. The monies for the charity he raised came from everywhere statewide but mostly via help from Time Out Youth, a local LGBT youth services agency. Brockington, whose life has not been a breeze, is living with foster parents because his father is reportedly unaccepting of his gender identity. Despite his own personal struggles, Brockington is viewed as an exemplary role model by fellow students, according to student adviser Bill Allen for the Gay-Straight Alliance on campus, “Our young people understand we are all different. We have all races, genders, and religious backgrounds. We have kids representing 30 to 40 languages in this school and people learn to accept each other as they are, and I think this is an example of what is going to be happening in North Carolina,” he contends. The teen, who is honored to have been bestowed with such a title, plans on enrolling at the University of North Carolina come fall. He will also continue playing rugby and mentoring young transgender students. As homecoming king, Brockington, wants to drive home the point that no matter what adversities someone faces, he or she should always cling to their aspirations and never let go, “They can be themselves regardless of what anybody else says. Even though you go through some things and have some negative encounters in your life, anything is possible. You can do anything you set your heart to.”
