Elizabeth Taylor Jewelry Collection Likely To Be Auctioned Off

At the time of her passing , Elizabeth Taylor may have possessed the most elegant jewelry collection on the planet. So, what will happen to a set that’s been valued at over $150 million? Sources tell People it will likely go to auction at Christie’s in New York. “She had the most amazing eye,” says Peter Sedghi, President/CEO of Luxury Jewels in Beverly Hills. “When you would show her stones, she would tell you the origin, if it’s good quality, bad quality, where it came from.” Taylor collected all kinds of stones, but she had a unique place in her heart for diamonds. They dated back to her life as an iconic actress. “The studios, in order to make her happy, they’d always give her jewelry,” says friend Lorraine Schwartz. “She grew up collecting it. People always gave her gifts… it was something that she learned to love.” Among the star’s most treasured items? A 69-carat Taylor-Burton diamond, purchased for over $1 million; and a 33-carat Krupp diamond, given to her by fifth husband, Richard Burton.

Rapper Jim Jones’ girlfriend Chrissy Lampkin proposes to him on this season of VH1′s “Love & Hip Hop,” as seen in the series’ trailer . She recently talked to Necole Bitchie about her decision to do so. Radio DJ, BET Host Killed In NYC Attention Parents & Teachers: Teens Are Having Sex No Matter What You Say Why did you propose? I did it to let him know that I love him enough and I am proud and happy enough to display that to the world. That’s what that’s about. Eventually, we will get married. Am I rushing it? No. Of course people have opinions about me asking him to marry me, but I felt it was the right thing to do. I love him enough and I wanted to share that. It’s how I felt and what I wanted. You need to know what you’re doing with your life. You need to have direction. If that thing doesn’t happen the traditional way, it still needs to happen. So why waste your time? I figured I would cut to the chase. What are we waiting for? Do you feel upset that he never asked you first? We talk about it a lot, so it’s not like it was something that wasn’t going to happen. I felt comfortable enough to ask him. It’s not like it was something that was never talked about and I jumped out the window with it. I knew that it was something we both wanted. I didn’t mind being the first one to step up. We’ve been together almost seven years. Have you ever reached a breaking point with Jim? When you think about it–what relationship are you going to find where you’ll be free of any of that. You trade in one set or bullsh*t for another set of bullsh*t. [laughs] It’s about finding the bullsh*t you can live with. Jimmy’s a good guy and he wants to see a smile on my face at all times. I can’t ask for anymore than that. There’s been time when our relationship wasn’t always on the same page. We had talks about it. We’ve realized that we’d rather be together dysfunctional, than apart. Relationships go through stages and you should always be learning and growing. When that stops, you have a problem. Does Jim support you [financially]? Yeah. He takes good care of me. I don’t care how people take it. I get flack all the time. He’s my man. What–you want him not to? I came up in a time when that’s what men did and aspire to do. Last week you saw SEIU protesters take over a bank in Stroudsburg, PA when they stormed a lobby in an effort to call out a CEO. ‘Sucker Punch’ Stars Take A Journey ‘Into Zack Snyder’s Mind’

Vanessa Hudgens, Jena Malone, Emily Browning, Jamie Chung and Abbie Cornish reveal their favorite scenes. By Kara Warner Vanessa Hudgens in “Sucker Punch” Photo: Warner Bros. After months and months of buzz, rumors and hype, Zack Snyder’s “Sucker Punch” is finally about to drop in theaters. MTV News has been on this film’s case from day one and recently had the opportunity to catch up with the cast and director for a few in-depth chats. First up, the lovely leading ladies addressed the film’s most outrageous moments. “I think, for me, when we’re on the B-25 bomber plane and we’re being chased by a dragon and I’m shooting at it,” said Vanessa Hudgens, who plays Blondie. “It’s pretty intense.” “I got to do this really fun green-screen moment where I was being lowered upside down on a harness 40 feet in the air,” Jena Malone, a.k.a. Rocked in the film, explained. “I had to clear out my mag on my UMP [Universal Machine Pistol] while I was shooting all these robots that I was doing a double-flip over in the middle of a bullet train.” Jamie Chung, who plays Amber, added that part of the fun of working with green screen, particularly a scene in Mecca, was being able to use your imagination. When asked what she pulled from or where she went to prepare for those moments, Chung said she looked to her director. “Into Zack Snyder’s mind,” she said. “That was the place that I went.” Emily Browning (Baby Doll) and Abbie Cornish (Sweet Pea) also touted the fight or “dance” sequences as the most unbelievable. “My favorite thing to watch with my character is probably the first fight scene in Samurai world,” Browning said. “People have said to me, ‘Oh, so were you just standing there and there was a green screen and they made you look like you were jumping?’ I said, ‘No, I was on wires the whole time’ jumping up and doing crazy things. We did almost a month of wirework at the end of the film. That’s pretty cool to see. It’s almost like a character in a video game or something.” “I definitely do love a lot of the fighting stuff,” Cornish said. “For me the process of filming ‘World War I’ [an action sequence in the film] was incredible, because we all had solo action pieces so we got to indulge in those action pieces.” Cornish pointed out Snyder’s use of high-speed cameras that were used to slow certain movements and make them stand out more onscreen. “I love the moments where you see Vanessa’s character flip her tomahawk and then that awesome throw that she does,” she said. “And when Jenna flips her gun in slow motion, I love that stuff.” “That’s probably the coolest moment,” Browning agreed. ‘Captain America’ Trailer: Five Cool Moments

Take a closer look at the super-soldier as we break down the upcoming action movie’s first full trailer. By Eric Ditzian Chris Evans and cast in the “Captain America: The First Avenger” trailer Photo: Marvel Before becoming the engineered superhero called Captain America, Steve Rogers attempts to join the Army five times in five cities, only to be rejected for being a pipsqueak with a ton of heart but not nearly big enough biceps. In a similar series of false starts, we’ve been treated to a slew of teasers for “Captain America: The First Avenger,” from a 30-second Super Bowl spot to a bunch of seconds-long video snippets parceled out over the last few days. Now, finally, we’re getting a shot of cinematic super-serum with the Marvel adaptation’s first full trailer . Here are our picks for the five coolest moments: The Shield … Kinda Here we see Rogers (Chris Evans) in pre-conversion twerp mode. Chased into an alley, he attempts to defend himself with a trashcan lid — a none-too-subtle nod to the red-white-and-blue shield he’ll soon wield as the Captain. Sure, he’s a scrawny fellow, but he’s brave. And as Dr. Abraham Erskine (Stanley Tucci) will tell Steve before transforming him into a superhero, “A weak man knows the value of strength, knows the value of power.” In terms of historical context, this shot also gives us a glimpse of around when the story begins. A poster in the alley shows the date: May 29, 1943. Meet Your Super-Serum So it’s that goopy blue stuff that transforms Rogers into a super-solider. We see Erskine in the laboratory, as well as Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper), who just so happens to be the father of a certain iron-suited hero played in other Marvel movies by Robert Downey Jr. The serum doesn’t look that pleasant going in, but what a difference it makes: Rogers goes from zero to world-saving hero. Captain Action Listen, it’s hard out there for a super-solider. Even when an Army colonel (Tommy Lee Jones) is driving at top speed in a convertible and the Captain looks like he’s about to jump out and whup some Nazi butt, he pauses for a little smooch from Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). Pimp! Army of the Damned Check them out in all their blue-glowing glory: the HYDRA army controlled by Red Skull (Hugo Weaving), Hitler’s head honcho of weaponry and general evilness. It’s these soldiers who will face off against the Captain and his crew with the fate of the world in the balance. The Boys We’d sleep easier knowing this collection of dudes — Captain America and the much-hyped Howling Commandos — is protecting the nation. In addition to the Captain, you’ve got sidekick Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), Union Jack (JJ Field) and Dum Dum Dungan (Neal McDonough). That’s a hero shot if we’ve ever seen one. “It’s an amazing costume,” Evans told us last year of his look. “Given the fact that his costume is red, white and blue, and it’s tight, and it could be kind of flash and over the top — and given the fact that the movie takes place in the ’40s and ’50s — they’ve done a really good job of making it look really cool.” What were your favorite moments? Share them in the comments below! Gwyneth Paltrow To Duet With Matthew Morrison On His Debut Album

The ‘Country Strong’ star and the ‘Glee’ actor have recorded a version of ‘Over the Rainbow’ for his upcoming release. By Aly Semigran Gwyneth Paltrow and Matt Morrison Photo: GETTY/ Michael Tran Holly Holliday will be making sweet music with Will Schuester once more. Translating from Gleek speak, Oscar-winning-actress-turned-singing-staple Gwyneth Paltrow will be crooning yet another number with Matthew Morrison. Entertainment Weekly reports that Paltrow will appear on Morrison’s upcoming solo album, which is due out on May 10. On “Glee,” recurring guest Paltrow — who plays flaky substitute teacher Holliday — has covered Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide,” Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You” and Prince’s “Kiss,” the latter of which she performed with Morrison’s Mr. Schue. Now, the Golden Globe-nominated Morrison is having the “Country Strong” star help him out on his debut record, on a tune that’s become almost synonymous with his “Glee” character: “Over the Rainbow.” As Morrison told EW, “People kind of know me for that song now.” The Broadway-trained actor not only used the timeless “Wizard of Oz” number for his “Glee” audition, but also sang it with co-star Mark Salling (who released his own solo effort, Pipe Dreams , in 2010) during the season 1 finale — both times accompanying himself on ukulele. “I wanted to do a duet with a female. I thought that was a good song to do, and we really did a different arrangement of it,” Morrison explained about the version he recorded for his album. “It’s a lot of strings, and it’s beautiful.” Morrison admitted that he felt nervous about approaching Paltrow to see if she’d participate in the recording. “The hardest part of doing this album was asking these people favors, like Elton [John] and her,” he said. “I’m so not that guy.” In addition to Paltrow and John, Morrison also has ‘NSYNC member JC Chasez lined up for a duet on a song titled “Dancing in the Rain.” While there’s no word yet on who, if any, of his “Glee” castmates will appear on the record — both had championed to get their own duets on the album — co-star Jenna Ushkowitz has already been singing its praises . Ushkowitz, who plays glee-club member Tina Cohen-Chang on the show, told MTV News on the red carpet of the Screen Actors Guild Awards in January, “His music is really great.” She went on to say that Morrison “made his own sound” on the album, while adding that it was “a little bit of Justin Timberlake … [and] symphonic-sounding.” Morrison has yet to announce a title for album, though the actor did reveal to MTV News at Clive Davis’ post-Grammy bash in February that ” My Name ” has been considered as a possibility. Elin Nordegren Buys New Home Close to Tiger

Tiger Woods’ ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, just picked up this new mansion in North Palm Beach, Fla., a mere 10 miles away from Woods’ own mammoth estate. Nordegren purchased the oceanfront home in a gated community eight months after finalizing her $100 million divorce from the philandering golfer. The Swedish beauty and her two kids with Tiger plan to move into the enormous home, rumored to have cost $12 million, in the next few weeks. Here’s the house that Rachel Uchitel built … This is Elin Nordegren’s new home. She’s not un-rich . With the super-private Woods, who actually did a few interviews this week, just down the road, Elin made good on her promise to keep their kids close. This was supposedly Tiger’s biggest stipulation in their split, much more so than money. If nothing else, hopefully they can raise the children amicably. [Photo: Pacific Coast News]

Katy Perry Offers Merchandise Funds For Japan Earthquake Victims

Joe and Nick Jonas also send their well-wishes to the people of Japan. By Gil Kaufman Two women are surrounded by debris in Japan on Monday Photo: Michael Lavine Katy Perry has been very vocal over the past few days in urging her fans to donate to the Red Cross to help the victims of Friday’s devastating 9.0 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. On Tuesday (March 15), while in Germany for a tour date, Perry requested that fans buy merch at her show to benefit relief efforts. “If u go by the merchandise stand, purchase a KP light-up wand. All proceeds will go 2 to #Japanredcross,” she tweeted. “And when I play … Firework, let’s ignite the light for them tonight. I will be doing this for future shows so be ready!!!” The Jonas Brothers’ Joe Jonas recorded a special message for victims of the disaster on Monday and also encouraged the band’s fans to contribute to the Red Cross to help those affected by the 9.0 tremor, which has caused widespread property destruction, left thousands dead and unleashed a potential nuclear crisis thanks to the damage at a pair of power plants. “Hi everybody, it’s Joe here. I’m just sending a little video message to the victims in Japan that have been hit by this horrible tragedy,” said Jonas, who was sporting a few days’ beard growth and looking visibly pained by the situation. “My thoughts and prayers are with you guys. The ones who’ve lost loved ones, I’m so sorry and I’m praying every day for you guys.” Brother Nick Jonas posted a message as well, saying, “our thoughts are with people in Japan, our prayers are with you as well during this tough time. God bless and we’re all praying for you.” The Brothers’ “Camp Rock” co-star Meaghan Martin recorded a similar video . “I just wanted to send my love and thoughts and prayers to those in Japan affected by the earthquake and the tsunamis in the Pacific,” she said. “And everybody all over the world with friends and family members traveling in those locations. My thoughts and prayers are with you and together we can get through this.” “Twilight Saga” star Ashley Greene spoke to Examiner.com about the delays to “Breaking Dawn” filming that took place on Friday when the movie’s cast was evacuated from their Vancouver set due to tsunami warnings brought on by the quake. “Everything kind of got turned upside down and inside out,” she said of the interruption of the film’s schedule. “We got the least of the brunt of things. We have to be thankful for that. But really, it’s more about that we had to pick up and move to a different location and switch scenes around, but we are certainly moving forward and carrying on. It’s not really going to affect the film too harshly.” Greene urged people to send their prayers and donations to the people affected by the tragedy. “I think it’s something unpredictable and horrible and unexpected and really unfortunate and heartbreaking,” she said. “I certainly send out my prayers and my thoughts to the people and to their loved ones and lost ones. And hopefully, we as Americans are going to do everything we can to help them rebuild.” Also pledging to help in recent days is 1980s boy band Boyz II Men, who are raising money for the victims of the tragedy through the Red Cross. “Boyz II Men have a very special relationship with the people of Japan,” the group wrote in a statement about their goal of raising $100,000 for the relief agency . “We have been going to Japan for the past 20 years and we are deeply concerned for the people of Japan and especially for our friends and fans who reside in Sendai and all the areas affected by this earthquake and tsunami … We can proudly say that Sendai is a beautiful city and we have performed there many times. In fact, we are planning to perform in Sendai in November of 2011 as part of our 20th Year Anniversary Tour.” So far, their efforts have resulted in more than $15,000 in pledges from fans, who’ve contributed amounts ranging from $10 to $1,500. Verizon Wireless announced on Monday that it will offer its customers free calls to Japan from now through April 10. The deal covers most calls to Japan and includes free text messaging and multimedia messaging to Japan for its post-paid customers. Calls made from Japan on a Verizon residential landline will also be free. From P. Diddy to Conan O’Brien, Chris Brown, former “Star Trek” actor George Takei, Lady Gaga, Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda and actor Charlie Sheen, numerous stars have stepped up to help raise funds. On Monday, Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus offered a number of rare band items for sale in an eBay auction that will also benefit the Red Cross. For more information on what you can do to help with earthquake and tsunami relief efforts in Japan, head to MTV Act , or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
