In an interview with Revolt, Xan gave 2Pac a “clout” rating of “2′ and he said that the late rapper made “boring music.” To say Xan caused an uproar in the rap world would be an understatement. Waka Flocka banned him from hip hop… …and a group of high schoolers reportedly chased him out a Del Toco for his statements, causing the police to escort him to his car. At one point, Xan even had to hop on Twitter to clear the air. This past weekend we hit up Austin, TX for the SXSW conference & festival and among many artists on the rise, Peruvian singer A.Chal was on the scene with some really dope performances! We got a chance to chat with Alejandro, 28, about his start in music, the success of his first single, and the wild traction his new hit single “Love N Hennessy” is gaining. If you haven’t already, we are sure you’ll be hearing the NY raised R&B artist’s latest hit “Love N Hennessy” and loving the wavy vibes accompanied by a Latina swag to please all cultures. The song, written by A.Chal, explains difficulties in relationships once love AND liquor get involved. When asked “What was the inspiration behind ‘Love N Hennessy’?” the electro r&b artist responded “There was a situation between myself and a girl I was dealing with, and we hadn’t spoken. We were both in Miami, and when she saw me out with another girl, she got sooo upset she threw a bottle of Hennessy at me!” Talk about Hennything can happen! We also chatted with him a bit about his current love life and A.Chal let us know he is, indeed, on the market ladies! One bad relationship don’t stop no show! Hopefully we can continue to get the moody feels with the sway vibes as he’s provided on projects “Welcome To GAZI” and “On GAZ”. Fans were super excited to see our fave summer jam had a remix on the way with 2 Chainz and Nicky Jam. We asked specifically how did the collab with ATL superstar 2 Chainz come about? “Well,a friend of mine for years, FKI, was also close with Chainz. He let him hear the reord and told him we wanted to remix it and he seemed to just jump right in. It’s crazy because I still haven’t met Chainz. Definitely something I’m planning to do my next visit to the A. I’ve got mad respect for 2 Chainz. Finally, we asked what should fans be looking forward to in the near future and he let us know that there will be visuals dropping soon for his record “Quanto” off of “On GAZ” and it will be a dope video starring fans and children, and was shot in Mexico! He won’t even be in the video! The seemingly down to earth singer says he wants to keep his focus mainly on his craft more so than the show boating. In 2015, Roses in Concrete Community School opened in East Oakland, California. With a name inspired by a book of poetry written by Tupac Shakur , the school aims to create a model for urban education that prioritizes the needs of youth and families in the community it serves. It’s founder, Dr. Jeff Duncan-Andrade , believes education is the way to help young people understand that they can transform not only their community, but the world. By creating the conditions for our youngest change-makers to flourish, this education model can be a pathway to building healthy and sustainable communities across the U.S. In the school’s first year, Google.org provided $750,000 to help launch its unique vision. And last Friday at Google’s San Francisco community space , teachers, students, artists, education advocates, Googlers and Oakland-native actress Zendaya celebrated the announcement of our additional $650,000 grant to help the school build a first-of-its-kind computer science (CS) curriculum , which will serve as a model for other schools across the U.S. The curriculum will be culturally and community relevant, building on Duncan-Andrade’s philosophy that education shouldn’t push students out of communities, but should instead help students transform them. Research shows that Black and Latino students are interested in learning CS , but are underrepresented in the field due to limited access to learning opportunities, coupled with the lack of relatable role models. Through this new program, Roses in Concrete helps students see the connection between CS and their communities, and hopes to equip them with the skills they need to solve real problems, starting in their own neighborhood. “The purpose of education is not to escape poverty, but to end it.” – Dr. Jeff Duncan-Andrade, Founder of Roses in Concrete Community School During the evening’s events, Roses students shared dance, art, and poetry performances for the crowd, which included Zendaya, an avid supporter of the school. Growing up in Oakland as the daughter of two teachers, she has fond memories of spending time in the same classrooms that now make up the Roses in Concrete campus , and credits pretending to grade papers as some of her earliest acting experience. During a student-led interview, Zendaya shared her appreciation for organizations like this progressive community school that are thoughtfully closing equity divides in her hometown. She encouraged the students to “Always lead with your heart and chase the happiness that fuels you,” and reminded them that technology is one possible medium for them to express themselves and make a positive difference. The rest of us have operated in fear.” Plus, there is the n early $200,00 in office renovations, accusations of his family being too involved at HUD, emails proving he has lied and even reports of Carson using taxpayer money for private planes . Now, CNN.com lists Carson as number seven on Trump’s list of possible people he could fire, “The Housing and Urban Development secretary purchased — and then canceled — a $31,000 dining set for his work office. Why isn’t he higher on this list? Because Trump likes him — and the two went through the political wars together in 2016. Man Sentenced to Prison in Joe McKnight Fatal Shooting Ronald Gasser is sentenced to 30 years in prison in the road-rage shooting death of former NFL player Joe McKnight. As previously reported Ronald Gasser, the man witnesses say stood over the former NFL player’s lifeless body after a road rage shooting, was facing a second-degree murder charge. Now after Gasser was found guilty of a lesser charge of manslaughter, he’s been sentenced to 30 years. NOLA.com reports that Jefferson Parish Judge Ellen Kovach sentenced Ronald Gasser to 30 years in prison for gunning down McKnight after a five-mile, mutual road rage-fueled chase. The judge also admonished both men for the incident. “Let this be a cautionary tale to all driver who rage behind the wheel of their car at other drivers,” said Kovach. “The tragedy could have been avoided if either man “had the good sense, the courage and the wisdom to simply disengage.” Gasser was facing 40 years behind bars.
