New Episodes Beloveds… Watch The Super Trailer For Season 6 “Iyanla: Fix My Life” [VIDEO]

Source: Courtesy of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network / Courtesy of OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network “Iyanla Fix My Life” Returns For 6th Season On OWN Iyanla is back y’all! “ Iyanla: Fix My Life” returns for Season 6 this Saturday, June 1st and if the super trailer is any indication, this one is a doozy! Here’s more details about the new season of “Iyanla: Fix My Life” In this dramatic new season of the series, the Mitchell family returns for more episodes in search of Iyanla’s help. In part one, Iyanla reunites with the family and finds that they have fallen back into old patterns: Michael, Jr. has gone back to making lewd videos, Markis’s guilt about failing his family has led to a suicide attempt and one sibling went MIA. In part two of this multi-episode story, Iyanla sits down with the oldest sibling, Kizzy, to help her understand that she is no different from the mother who abandoned her; meanwhile, Iyanla sits Michael, Jr. down with mother Leronda to gain a greater understanding of an untreated mental health issue – one causes emotional outbursts and spurs him to post degrading videos of himself on social media; and lastly, Iyanla addresses the violent breakdown during the previous episode between Marvin and Melvin around one brother’s discomfort with his own sexuality. In a final attempt to move beyond the burden of resentment they hold towards their mother and each other, Iyanla jumps in between the chaos of family squabbles, breakdowns and blowups by making each member face their core issues of deeply rooted mistrust. In subsequent episodes, Iyanla meets with a troubled young woman born in prison to a drug-addicted mother. Hours before being born, her 22-year-old father was notified he had a daughter on the way—a daughter that he was neither expecting nor sure he wanted. Lil’Karla marinated in a womb of “unwantedness” and grew up among family that she claims raised her in that same spirit, which she uses as an excuse for a lifetime’s worth of bad behavior. Also, Iyanla proves the old saying “If it’s not one thing, it’s your mother,” as she deals with two separate cases of manipulative women who will do anything in their power to control their adult children, followed by a couple who are desperately trying to save their marriage. Iyanla continues her work as she sits down with a father and his three sons – two of which he suspects are not actually his. YIKES… Sounds like a lot of family drama that many of us can relate to — or hopefully are blessed enough not to relate to. OWN is also launching a podcast version of its award-winning series “Iyanla: Fix My Life” available June 18 on Apple Podcasts. The “Iyanla: Fix My Life” podcast will feature previously aired content from the critically-acclaimed series’ most popular interviews featuring spiritual life coach Iyanla Vanzant, as she helps those who are struggling, guiding them toward a new way of living and encouraging them to do the work necessary for real change. “Iyanla: Fix My Life” podcast will roll out a new episode every Tuesday beginning on June 18 available on Apple Podcasts, including episodes with the following featured guests: former NFL star Chad Ochocinco Johnson and reality TV star Evelyn Lozada; popular radio personality “Sasha the Diva”; former “Real Housewife of Atlanta” Sheree Whitfield; rapper, actor and reality TV star Saigon; and reality television star Arica Adams, better known as “Hazel-E.” Sounds like a great way to refresh some classic content. Samantha Markle Makes Desperate Plea to Famous Half-Sister

Well, that didn’t take very long. Just a matter of days, in fact. After initially offering up some nice words to Meghan Markle after the Duchess of Sussex welcomed her first child on May 6, Samantha Markle has returned to accusing her half-sister of being selfish and insensitive. In an interview with Mirror, Samantha pleaded with Meghan to let their dad, Thomas Markle, actually see his grandson at some point in the near future. “It’s sad. He should have been involved. Being excluded is like a dagger through his heart,” Samantha said of her father’s lack of inclusion in the pregnancy and the birth, adding to the British publication: “Poor Master Archie is not getting to know a creative, loving person.” This has been a running, irritating theme from Samantha for several months now. She has taken every opportunity possible to lash out at Meghan, alleging that the Duchess has basically been a mean jerk for cutting their farher out of her life. (Samantha is 17 years older than Meghan and the two scarcely have ever had any kind of relationship at all.) Of course, Royal Family Followers know things are far more complicated than this. Thomas Markle got himself embroiled in a paparazzi scandal last spring after agreeing to let photographers snap pictures of him in exchange for money. He then skipped the Royal Wedding, citing health issues along with embarrassment over this controvery. Thomas has also lived a reclusive life in Mexico for years; not on bad terms with his newly-famous daughter, but not especially close to her, either. Ever since Meghan became a global icon, however, both Thomas and especially Samantha suddenly want a relationship with the Duchess. We wonder why! “We always have been desperate to heal the rift, but it’s up to Meghan to reach out now,” Samantha says in this new interview. “Life is short and precious so I hope having the baby will soften her feelings and she will do the right thing.” Meghan has actually been impressive in taking the high road, considering some of the truly heinous things Samantha has said about her. To wit: View Slideshow: Meghan Markle: 19 Cruelest Things Her Own Family Has Said About the Duchess Samantha, though, doesn’t see it that way. She says it was a “sad moment” for her dad when Markle and Prince Harry debuted their son , Archie, two days after he was born. She also says it’s been wrong of Meghan’s mother not to push for Archie to meet his grandfather — and adds that this will all be the poor young boy’s loss in the end if things don’t change. “He is a doting granddad and he’s been great with all his other grandkids. He buys toys, plays creative games, he’s funny and nurturing and communicative with them.” For his part, Thomas at least said the right things shortly after Archie came into the world. “I’m delighted to hear that mother and child are doing well,” he told The Mirror, adding: “I am sure that he will grow up to serve the crown and the people of Britain… “My congratulations to my lovely daughter Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry.” He sort of sounds over his issues with Meghan, but Samantha refuses to let them go. Not as long as they keep her name in the news. “He needs to get a wider sense of family – because he isn’t just a Mountbatten-Windsor child, he’s a Markle too,” she concluded here. “There’s a connection and we exist.”

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor: What Does His Birth Certificate Reveal?

A-Ha! One mahor Royal Mystery has officially been solved. Almost two weeks removed from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcoming their first child into the world, Kensington Palace has made Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor’s birth certificate available to the public. Yes,  Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor . We may still need a little while to get used to that name. Regardless, however, the document that confirms he actually exists does list a couple of interesting tidbits on it. For starters, the little one was born at the private Portland Hospital in Westminster. The whereabouts of just where Meghan and Harry went for this blessed event was kept under wraps until now, with some outlets writing that Markle was even considering going WAY against Royal Tradition and going with a home birth. But she thought better of it in the end. As for what else the certificate tells us? One interesting note is that this paper lists Meghan’s official job title as “Princess of the United Kingdom.” (Harry’s is listed as “Prince of the United Kingdom.”) A former star on the USA Network legal drama Suits, Markle worked as an actress for many years. However, she was forced to give this line of work up when she fell in love with a Royal. Her official title is Duchess of Sussex, but now we know that her occupation is apparently that of “princess,” whatever that entails exactly. As also mentioned on this certificate, Archie Harrison was born on May 6 at 5:26 a.m., weighing 7 lbs. 3 oz. He is seventh in the line to the British throne, but his parents are determined to give him a normal childhood. As normal as possible under their circumstances, that is. Along those lines, however, they’ve moved away from Kensington Palace in favor of a home in the country, Frogmore Cottage; and they’ve opted not to give Archie a royal title . Naturally, and sadly, Markle has been criticized already for these decisions. Some Brits will simply hate her forever. But at least Harry loves his wife very much, along with the child they’ve created together through sexual intercourse. “As every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for, so I’m just over the moon,” the Prince said in his first remarks about Archie. “He has the sweetest temperament. He’s really calm,” Meghan later added. Meghan and Harry got married in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in May of 2018. They announced that they were expecting their first child five months after their nuptials. For an extended look at the precious little boy… here you go! Briana Renee Accuses Ex of Pedophilia, Bestiality, and Incest Fantasies

Little Women: LA alum Briana Renee has been living in fear of her ex for too long. Now, she is courageously facing off with Matt Grundhoffer in court. He is accused of sexually abusing a minor in his care. But Briana’s testimony reveals that her ex-husband’s twisted fantasies included more: pedophilia, bestiality, and incest. In 2009, Matt Grundhoffer was working as a counselor. He is accused of having abused a minor in his care at that time. That (former) minor has taken him to court, and Briana is helping. Briana has accused Matt of verbal and physical abuse during their marriage. Her fears of violence escalated when he armed himself. Last July, Briana filed a deposition in court expressing alarm that Matt was carrying a gun. She said that he had, on more than one occassion, used it to mime killing himself — a clear suicide threat. Once upon a time, their split and divorce had been described as “amicable.” That quickly changed, and the gun was just a small part of it. After they had separated, Briana discovered the sort of person Matt really was. RadarOnline got a look at — but tastefully chose to not release — Facebook messages that Briana had provided to the court. She says that after he had left her home, he tried to get her to “trust him,” so he handed over his Facebook password. That is shocking, because Briana uncovered Facebook messages that he had sent out. He had messaged both men and women, sending flirtatious texts as well as more explicit sexts. As we already knew, some of those he targeted were trans women, whom he insultingly fetishized. We may not have the entire transcript from court, but we do know some of what was said about Matt. “Saying he’s a sexual deviant, he’s got an addiction, he can’t help himself,” Briana said of her ex. “You know and then this stuff… including bestiality and children,” Briana added. “I only saw or knew anything that disturbing once he had been out of my house,” she explained. “It was a few days later that I saw this on Facebook.” She reports that he sent messages expressing a lust for incest, bestiality, and pedophilia. The scariest part was the incest, because she’s not talking about fanfiction or Game of Thrones or whatever. Briana says that, in those explicit fantasies, he mentioned his own 12-year-old child from a previous relationship. “Then, he was out of my home,” Briana asserted in court. “I immediately sent it to my lawyers. It’s your own son!” “There were about 30” messages in total, Briana revealed. Those of a “concerning nature were the children and bestiality.” “I didn’t even wanna read the rest,” Briana admitted to the court. “There [were] just so many,” she explained. “I was just, like, done. I put it in my lawyer’s hands.” Some might have deleted the messages in horror. Handing them off to her attorney allowed her to use the messages to secure a protective order for Matt’s 12-year-old. It also allowed her to use them in her own divorce and in this court case, providing testimony on her ex. We don’t normally want to police anybody’s private thoughts, but messages are a little more than that. And this stuff is both gross and scary. Royal Baby Name: A Giant EFF YOU to Great Britain?

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The stunning Royal Baby name announced this week by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry has led to a number of enjoyable memes and quips. To wit:  Will the second kid be named Jughead?!? But this unexpected selection has also led to a few serious questions about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their intentions with the moniker, most notably among them: Was this just an enormous F-CK YOU to all of Great Britain? For whatever it’s worth, Archie was not among the bookmakers’ favorites, as Alexander, Arthur and Albert were the first names on which most gamblers placed their money over the final few days. Archie, which translates to “genuine”, “bold” or “brave” has no real known Royal Connotations. Harrison, meanwhile, is clearly based on the Prince’s first name — but it’s a brand new one for the Royal Family, which has spanned multiple centuries. Might Markle and Prince Harry just have been feeling a tad adventurous? Might they have wanted to harmessly buck tradition and start their child off on somewhat of a fresh foot, given all the pressure he’ll be facing over the next several decades? Sure, absolutely. But there’s also a reason to believe that Markle and Harry went out of their way to stick it to the latter’s home country a bit here. Why? Just consider the non-stop wave of criticism that has been leveled at Meghan ever since she got into Harry’s britches. There has been an endless array of articles written about Markle and her supposedly demanding ways, with each Royal Employee Resignation treated as if the former actress is more selfish and entitled than Teresa Giudice. There was even speculation that Kate Middleton doesn’t like her fellow Duchess because Markle is too American , whatever the heck that means. So would it really come as a surprise if Harry and his polarizing wife purposely chose a name that is more closely associated with American than England for their firstborn? It would be a nice and subtle jab at all those British critics, none of whom can really come out and attack an innocent, defenseless child over his first name… … yet all of whom were receive the message loud and clear. Markle and Harry may be so fed up with life in Great Britain that they’re considering a move to Africa . They’ve already moved to someplace called Frogmore Cottage in order to distance themselves from the chaos of life in London, yet they may soon relocate to an entirely different continent. Such is their apparent contempt for the reception they’ve received as a couple at home. Heck, even the debut of little Archie was met with vitriol by some in the media . Do these journalists know no shame?!? View Slideshow: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry: Royal Baby Photos are HERE! BBC Broadcaster Fired After Comparing Royal Baby Archie To A Chimp

View post:

Source: DOMINIC LIPINSKI / Getty There’s a reason why when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were first dating, he had to check the British media for their blatant racism . Unfortunately, it has fallen on deaf ears and has now impacted their newborn son. On Thursday, one BBC broadcaster was fired for comparing baby Archie to a chimp. According to the Los Angeles Times , radio host Danny Baker tweeted out a picture of two adults holding hands with a tiny chimp, with the caption, “Royal baby leaves the hospital.” Yeah, he REALLY tried it. Of course, Baker tried to backtrack by deleting the tweet and explaining and apologizing multiple times, claiming he did not know it was racist. “Sorry my gag pic of the little fella in the posh outfit has whipped some up,” the 61-year-old tweeted first. “Never occurred to me because, well, mind not diseased. Soon as those good enough to point out it’s possible connotations got in touch, down it came. And that’s it.” Sorry my gag pic of the little fella in the posh outfit has whipped some up. Never occurred to me because, well, mind not diseased. Soon as those good enough to point out it's possible connotations got in touch, down it came. And that's it. Now stand by for sweary football tweets — Danny Baker (@prodnose) May 8, 2019 Once again. Sincere apologies for the stupid unthinking gag pic earlier. Was supposed to be joke about Royals vs circus animals in posh clothes but interpreted as about monkeys & race, so rightly deleted. Royal watching not my forte. Also, guessing it was my turn in the barrel. pic.twitter.com/86cQGbAhDc — Danny Baker (@prodnose) May 8, 2019 Thankfully, BBC still let him go, stressing that Baker’s tweet “goes against the values we as a station aim to embody,” adding “Danny’s a brilliant broadcaster but will no longer be presenting a weekly show with us.” Later, Baker lashed out at his colleagues, claiming they threw him under the bus and should have defended his character. “The call to fire me from @bbc5live was a masterclass of pompous faux-gravity,” he tweeted Thursday. “Took a tone that said I actually meant that ridiculous tweet and the BBC must uphold blah blah blah. Literally threw me under the bus. Could hear the suits knees knocking.” So instead of owning up to one’s racism, you make this about other people. That’s about white. As we previously reported , Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor is the first mixed-race heir to the throne. He was born on Monday, May 6, clocking in clocked at 7lbs. 3oz. Adding, “Parenting is amazing. Prince Harry Admits to Missing Late Mother While Celebrating Royal Birth

Fans of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are still getting over the joyful announcement of the royal baby name . But Harry is back to work, and holding earnest conversations with people even as he beams with pride as a new father. The prince has also spoken of how he misses his mother, the late great Princess Diana. A veteran by the name of Dennis van der Stroon spoke to Prince Harry on Thursday during the new father’s trip to the Netherlands. Van der Stroon then spoke to Hello! about the exchange, in which they reflected upon both fatherhood and loss. “Harry talked about how having a small child was his new focus and new goal,” van der Stroon reveals. He recalls: “and I told him how a couple of months ago, I was struggling with my mental health.” “But,” van der Stroon told the prince. “My wife’s pregnancy has given me a goal.” Like Prince Harry, van der Stroon lost his mother when he was young and is also about to become a father. “Above all,” he comments. “He said he was just amazed by the miracles in the world.” It sounds like he’s very pumped up by being a new father. And he knows that he’s not the only one. van der Stroon adds: “and how his child has made a lot of people happy.” That is certainly true. “He also told me he’s really happy that his son is so far very quiet,” van der Stroon shares. Hey, that’s something that we didn’t know about baby Archie. “But,” he continues. “He also told me not to make too many plans.” Ban der Stroon explains: “and that there’s no way you can plan for when the baby arrives.” That is absolutely true. “I told Harry about my mother,” van der Stroon shares, noting that they could relate to each other. It has been more than 20 years since Princess Diana’s tragic death. “And,” he reveals. “We talked about our shared experience of missing a mum.” That is heartbreaking for both of them. “He said missing a mother is like missing some kind of security,” van der Stroon expresses. Van der Stroon says that Harry spoke of “how you need that [security] as a son and it falls away when you lose your mother.” He and his brother were then under a spotlight as never before while they mourned, which only compounded the trauma. “He said he meets a lot of people in his work who have lost a mother, father, sister, brother, or relatives,” van der Stroon shares. Prince Harry is known for his charity work, following in his late mother’s footsteps. “And when he hears their story, as he heard my story,” van der Stroon concludes. “He said he doesn’t feel so alone.” Harry and Meghan shared their happy news earlier this week. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are pleased to announce they have named their first born child: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor,” they shared on Instagram. “This afternoon,” the statement read. “Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle.” “The Duke of Edinburgh and the duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion,” the post added. As Harry told van der Stroon, the birth of baby Archie has brought joy to a lot of people who feel invested in Harry and Meghan. Why More Black Women Should Be Considering Having A Doula In The Delivery Room

Source: Chanel L. Porchia Albert / Chanel L. Porchia Albert The Duchess Of Sussex Meghan Markle reportedly used a doula during the birth of the royal baby, prompting more women to explore the benefits of having a doula in the room when they’re delivering their child. Doulas are becoming ever more popular as Black women continue to die at disproportionately higher rates during childbirth. Having extra representation in the room can prevent common medical mishaps that health professionals may otherwise overlook. As we’ve seen, death during childbirth doesn’t discriminate for Black women regardless of socioeconomic status or social class. Champion tennis Serena Williams shared her experience while giving birth and how she had to advocate for herself after doctors refused to check her lungs for blood clots. Shamari Devoe exclusively revealed to us that she too had to advocate for herself when doctors refused to check her cervix while she was pregnant with her twins. We caught up with Chanel L. Porchia Albert — founder of Ancient Song Doula Services, a reproductive health organization focused on providing resources and full spectrum doula services to women of color and marginalized communities, full spectrum doula, lactation counselor, and Midwifery assistant — informed us the benefits of having a doula. What is the role of a doula in the birth room? The role of the doula is to center the voice and autonomy of the birthing person. Providing evidence-based information to make an informed decision about their care and to provide various forms of comfort measures for the birthing person. When we look at black women and birthing the context is about ensuring that the voice of the pregnant person is not lost or fall on deaf ears. African- American women regardless of education, socio-economic status, or educational level are at a greater risk for complications stemming from varying degrees of institutionalized racism and systemic disregard for the voices of pregnant people and over medicalization of birth. Overall, the doula is bringing a human rights framework into the birth room to ensure pregnant people voices are heard and push bodily autonomy Why do you think the Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle chose to have a doula in the room with her? Support. I can’t speak for Meghan but my thought is that with the growing news around traumatic birth experiences, the over medicalization of birth, and understanding how black women and those who are considered to be at advanced maternal age wanted to ensure that she had supportive individuals in her corner to assist in advocating for her needs and autonomy in her own birthing experience to ensure the best birth outcome. Birth has become a commodity that sees the value of motherhood in a heavy rotation of getting someone in and out at the cost of the individual. People want the good birth outcome and the experience that centers the parent and child. What’s a common medical emergency that happens in the birth room that doulas often catch? There are varying things that can take place in the birth room that may not be considered a medical emergency but can have lasting effects on the pregnant person such as forced episiotomies, fear-based coercion, over use of medical equipment, not being able to eat and drink in labor, desperation of parent and child at birth. Some of these interventions may be unnecessary and shift to a medical emergency. The doula is there is provide information to make an informed decision about care that centers the voice that is often dismissed in care. How many Black women use doulas? Black women are seeking out doulas at a higher rate then ever before. Understanding the complexities of racism and implicit bias within care and wanting to ensure the safety and well-being of themselves and children. Cost continues to be a barrier in that access but organizations like Ancient Song Doula Services, Mamatoto Village, Village Birth Intl, and others across the nation are and have been working to break down barriers to care. Resources like the Black Mamas Matter Alliance where black women can find a list of kindred partners and collaborators within their respective states to ensure they have the educational resources and support when choosing a provider. How much does a doula cost and how can the average woman get one for free? On average a doula can cost upwards to $3000 for services. There are various programs and models that specifically centers the voices of Black women and provide culturally relevant care from an evidence-based perspective that are free, low cost, or at a sliding scale basis. You can find that at Ancient Song and others kindred partners and collaborators at the Black Mamas Matter Alliance.
