And just like that, another chapter is etched in the beef between Lil Wayne and the Miami Heat organization. This follows a spiteful move by Weezy Monday, May 5, after the Chicago Bulls defeated LeBron and Co. 93-86 in game one of the semi-finals in South Beach… Continue
Kris Humphries just can’t get right. The baller is now being blamed for messing up the Nets Playoffs chances by staying out late partying the night before their Game 7 loss. Via US Weekly reports : Timing is everything. And Kris Humphries, who recently became a free man once more after his divorce from ex Kim Kardashian was finalized on Apr. 19, should know that better than anyone. But the Brooklyn Nets player threw caution to the wind on Friday, May 3, partying into the late hours of the night despite having to be ready to go for Game 7 against the Chicago Bulls the next day. According to a source, the towering athlete was “out late” at NYC hotspot Beauty & Essex on Friday evening, arriving around 9 p.m. and leaving past 1 in the morning. Humphries, 28, was at the venue to celebrate his older model sister Kaela’s 30th birthday and didn’t hold back as he “fist pumped a little bit” and showed off a few dance moves, the source added. “Kris was drinking champagne and stayed late. He was a jerk to everyone,” another eyewitness told Us. But another source told Us, “He left with his mother. He wasn’t out of control, he was celebrating his sister’s birthday. If anyone knows Kris, they know that family and basketball are the most important things in his life.” The following day, Humphries and his team would go on to lose to the Chicago Bulls 99 to 93 on their home turf at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. “In the pros, you are not monitored, so to speak, unless you are on the road,” another source explains to Us Weekly. “It is assumed you know what to do the night before a game. But, no! You do not go out the night before a Game 7 of the playoffs. You don’t do it, period.” SMH. Hump what were you thinking??? AP

NBA Hall of Fame member Dennis Rodman is in North Korea right now. File that under THG Headlines You Didn’t See Coming This Morning. Rodman, along with three current members of the Harlem Globetrotters basketball team, are apparently filming a TV show for a US media company. The company said they hope engage in some “basketball diplomacy.” North Korea leader Kim Jong-un, who just oversaw the country’s recent nuclear test, is known to be a big basketball fan. So … can’t hurt, we suppose? Shane Smith, the founder of U.S. media company Vice, says: “Is sending members of the Harlem Globetrotters and Dennis Rodman to the DPRK [Democratic People’s Republic of Korea] strange? In a word, yes.” “But finding common ground on the basketball court is a beautiful thing. “These channels of cultural communication might appear untraditional, and perhaps they are, but we think it’s important just to keep the lines open.” As the delegation arrived at Pyongyang’s airport, Rodman said: ”It’s my first time, I think it’s most of these guys’ first time here, so hopefully everything’s going to be OK, and hoping the kids have a good time for the game.” Bull Bullard, one of the three Harlem Globetrotters on the tour, said they were hoping to teach North Koreans some of the team’s signature basketball skills: “We’re going to teach them, we’re going to show them what we do,… a lot of magic with the basketball, a lot of wizardry, a lot of fun and entertainment.” It was not clear exactly what the players would be doing while in North Korea, but Vice promises “documentary style news reports from around the world.” Rodman, a Hall of Fame member, is as famous for his tattoos, piercings and cross-dressing as he is for his rebounding titles and five NBA championships. He used to play for the Chicago Bulls which, according to a memoir by Kim Jong-un’s former sushi chef, was his favorite team as a young man. Rodman and his group will be in the country until March 5.
Chicago Lawyer Convicted Of Murdering Eddy Curry’s Girlfriend And 10-Month-Old Daughter Via NYPost A jury has convicted a Chicago attorney of murdering former NBA center Eddy Curry’s ex-girlfriend and infant daughter four years ago. Fredrick Goings showed no reaction when the jury’s guilty verdict was read Tuesday in the January 2009 shooting deaths of 24-year-old Nova Henry and her and Curry’s 10-month-old daughter, Ava. Goings represented Henry in a child custody case against the former Chicago Bulls, New York Knicks and Miami Heat center, and was also romantically involved with her. Prosecutors say Henry tried to end her relationship with Goings and moved out with her and Curry’s two children. They say Goings shot Henry in her home while she was holding the infant. Her and Curry’s son, who was then 3 years old, was also in the home but wasn’t harmed. Curry, who now plays in China, didn’t testify. Says Nova’s mother, Yolan Henry: “I’m feeling elated. I can breathe,” she said. “I feel justice has been served.” Yolan Henry testified that she found her surviving grandson, Noah, with the bodies of his sister and mother, and that he told her, “Fredrick did it.” It’s good to see the system benefit those who deserve justice and punish a$$holes that kill babies. ‘Jeremy Lin is definitely going to get a documentary,’ actor/director Michael Rapaport tells MTV News of Knicks star. By Rob Markman Jeremy Lin Photo: Jim McIsaac/ Getty Images Everyone loves the underdog, and right now, there is no bigger underdog story than that of New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin. The Taiwanese-American NBA star went from the very end of New York’s bench to basketball’s hottest topic with his inspired play. “Jeremy Lin is a shining star right now. It’s good to see somebody — he got that story behind him,” Fabolous told MTV News at a Brooklyn video shoot. “I think a lot of people, even myself, when you first heard it, you didn’t know if it was a fluke thing or sometimes a kid has a good game and they beef it up, but he’s actually playing well.” Lin emerged in early February, leading the struggling Knicks on a seven-game winning streak, scoring a ton of buckets along the way and capturing the hearts of b-ball fans across the world. Everyone from boxing champion Floyd Mayweather to President Obama has weighed in on Linsanity, and during the NBA 2012 All-Star Weekend in Orlando, it was all anyone could talk about. “Great person, great guy. It’s great for New York, it’s great for the team,” La La Vazquez Anthony, television personality and wife of Knicks star Carmelo Anthony, told MTV News. “Everybody there is so happy. ‘Melo’s happy about it.” Actor and film director Michael Rapaport attends many Knicks games, and he, too, is caught up in the Lintensity. “I got a picture with him the other day. I felt like I was a 12-year-old girl who saw ‘NSYNC in ’95, I was so excited,” he said to MTV News on the red carpet before the All-Star Game. Athletes from all over have taken notice. Lin’s Cinderella story is particularly important to other Asian athletes, who often don’t get recognized for their play — especially in basketball. “He’s a very good basketball player, and I’m proud of him because he came from Asia,” said boxing champ Manny Pacquiao. Even Lin’s NBA competitors praise his efforts. “He has a lot of confidence, and that’s all you need in this league is confidence,” Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose said. “It’s great for him, but it’s also great for the league,” Phoenix Suns star Steve Nash added. Jeremy Lin has a heck of a story, maybe one that could be told on the big screen. “Jeremy Lin is definitely going to get a documentary. I don’t know if Spike Lee’s claimed the rights to it or whatever — I know he’s been all over that,” Rapaport said. There’ll definitely be an ESPN ’30 for 30’ on Jeremy Lin.” Are you caught up in the Linsanity? Let us know in the comments!
Every single time someone comes through with a crazy, ridiculous dunk we sports writers automatically and inaccurately call it the craziest dunk ever. It’s a total knee-jerk reaction, and one that dilutes the very small pool of truly amazing dunks out there. … That being said, during Sunday afternoon’s Miami Heat versus Chicago Bulls showdown, LeBron James gave us the craziest dunk ever. No joke… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Opposing Views Discovery Date : 29/01/2012 21:49 Number of articles : 2
