Vince Vaughn, Kyla Weber Welcome First Child!

Vince Vaughn and Kyla Weber just received an early Christmas present. Locklyn Kyla Vaughn was born December 18! She weighed 7 pounds! The healthy baby girl, the couple’s first child, was born at a hospital in Chicago, Vaughn’s hometown. The actor’s rep confirms the good news. Congratulations to the new parents! “Both of them couldn’t be happier to welcome their baby girl ,” says a pal of Vaughn and Weber, a Canadian real estate agent and Vince’s wife of nearly a year. When Weber’s pregnancy was announced in July, a source close to The Dilemma star said that the newlyweds were thrilled to start a family so quickly. “They’re having so much fun and they’re so excited to be first-time parents!”

Drake ‘OK’ With Being Dropped From Kanye West’s ‘All Of The Lights’

‘Kanye’s creative process is ever-changing,’ Drizzy tells Shade 45. By Alvin Blanco Drake Photo: MTV News Even if Drake and Kanye West aren’t best friends, Drizzy still counts the Chicago rapper/producer as one of his musical idols. Drake dropped into Shade 45’s morning show Thursday (December 9) and chatted it up with host Elliott Wilson on a variety of topics, including being removed from the final version of Yeezy’s “All of the Lights.” An early version of the song, whose crowded guest list includes Elton John, La Roux’s Elly Jackson, Charlie Wilson and Ryan Leslie, had previously leaked that included Drake, but the Toronto rapper is nowhere to be found on the version that appears on West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. “Kanye’s creative process is ever-changing,” Drake said, adding that he doesn’t know why he was removed. “We make music differently. I make what comes to me and I hate changing it, whereas ‘Ye will change something 30 or 40 times to get it perfect. To each their own, and the change was to put all those people on it, and I wasn’t one of them. That’s completely OK.” Since Drake came to national prominence with the release of his So Far Gone mixtape, the MC has been compared to West — not just for his introspective lyrics, but for his overall sound as well. Back in August, Drake’s main producer, Noah “40” Shebib , relayed a story about Kanye West cursing him out for using his production style. Add to that mix the fact that Drake and Kanye have appeared on relatively few songs together — including “Forever,” with Lil Wayne and Eminem — and conspiracy theorists feel there must be tension between the two. “I can never sit here and tell you that’s not one of my idols, that’s not one of my favorite rappers,” Drake said of Kanye during the Shade 45 interview. “Whatever energy I’ve ever felt is irrelevant. When you ask me, ‘What do I think of Kanye West,’ I’mma always have something positive to say.” The host then interjected by asking, “But sometimes the energy is not always where you want it to be?” “I feel like we can co-exist,” Drake answered. “I feel like hip-hop is broad enough that we can both exist and give great music without feeling like it’s one or the other. I might be the only one that feels that way, though.” Drake stressed his reverence for Kanye West. At only 24 years old, the Canadian MC said he missed the Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac era, and Yeezy is a personal favorite artist whose career he can personally trace since its inception. What do you think about Drake’s thoughts on Kanye? Let us know in the comments. Related Artists Drake Kanye West

US Declares Wikileaks Off-Limits To Government Researchers

The US government is clamping down on scientists’ ability to discuss and surf freely as part of its response to the release of classified cables by Wikileaks. Today at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, moderators who run an environmental science discussion group called Coral-List have begun deleting any posts that make reference to Wikileak documents( http://coral.aoml.noaa.gov/pipermail/coral-list/2010-December/009371.html ). On Friday, at Fermilab in Chicago, access to Wikileaks was blocked by the IT department( http://www.fnal.gov/pub/today/archive_2010/today10-12-03.html ) to “help prevent someone from inadvertently downloading a classified document to a machine on our network” The same day at NASA, employees were told not to use their computers to download information from Wikileaks( http://www.nasawatch.com/archives/2010/12/heads-up-nasa-h.html ). Steven Aftergood of the Federation for American Scientists says the actions appear intended to respond to an Office of Management and Budget memo( http://voices.washingtonpost.com/federal-eye/2010/12/wikileaks_off-limits_to_una… ) that reminds agencies that bringing classified information onto a non-classified system may breach agency regulations. But, he adds, many agencies are going further than they have to by blocking sites entirely. He says that doesn’t make sense when much of the information is already freely available from newspapers such as The New York TImes and The Guardian. “The government has locked itself into a contradictory position that threatens mission performance,” – the idea that government employees should do the best job they can with the information they can obtain, he says. Contrary to what US scientists may have understood from the government’s behavior, it is not a crime for scientists to read classified information that has entered the public domain as long as they have no intent to damage national security by doing so, Aftergood says. But scientists at national labs are at risk of breaking workplace regulations if they load classified information onto their government computer. Aftergood says that the classified cables on wikileaks are not primarily a scientific resource, but they do contain social and geographical data that is of interest to some researchers, he says. Those most likely to be affected by the bans are foreign policy researchers and analysts. In his Secrecy newsletter( http://www.fas.org/blog/secrecy/2010/12/crs_block.html ) Aftergood discusses blocks on Wikileaks at the Library of Congress and comments that researchers for the Congressional Research Service( http://blogs.loc.gov/loc/2010/12/why-the-library-of-congress-is-blocking-wikilea… ), which is part of the Library, may be left unable to compete with other analysts as a result of their inability to read information that everyone else can access. added by: toyotabedzrock

Gary Johnson Admits To Medical Marijuana Use.

(CNN) – Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson hasn't been shy about smoking marijuana in the past, but a new interview reveals that this past may not be so distant. In an interview with The Weekly Standard released Monday, Johnson admits that he smoked marijuana recently for medicinal purposes. Johnson is an avid supporter of the legalization of marijuana and the revelation that it's a part of his past isn't a new one. When asked if he ever smoked marijuana, he referenced Bill Clinton circa 1992 to The New Republic in November, saying “I never exhaled.” But The Weekly Standard prompted a response from Johnson that puts his use of marijuana within the last two years: “It's not anything I volunteer, but you're the only person that actually asked about it,” he said, “But for luck, I guess, I wasn't arrested.” Johnson, a libertarian who governed New Mexico from 1995 to 2003, suffered pain resulting from a paragliding accident in 2005. “Rather than using painkillers, which I have used on occasion before, I did smoke pot, as a result of having broken my back, blowing out both of my knees, breaking ribs, really taking about three years to recover,” he admitted. Since past use of painkillers caused unpleasant side effects as well as difficult withdrawals, Johnson told The Weekly Standard that “someone” who cared for him gave him marijuana to deal with the pain, divulging that he used it from 2005-2008. Gov. Gary Johnson is an atypical Republican who suggests cutting the defense budget by as much as 90 percent, stating that Iran's nuclear program isn't a threat to the U.S., and favoring abortion in most cases. He hasn't spelled it out his future intentions in so many words, and his political advocacy organization Our America Initiative, is a small obstacle to overcome, due to its tax status and ability to receive unlimited donations from both individuals and corporations. Still, he's the only rumored 2012 presidential candidate with an outspoken history of advocating for the legalization of marijuana, another fact that sets him apart from the rest of the GOP presidential pack of contenders. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/12/06/new-details-of-johnsons-pot-smok… added by: ThatCrazyLibertarian

Finally, Michael Bay Makes the Victoria’s Secret/Transformers Mash-Up You’ve Been Waiting For

Just as you can believe Michael Bay when he says he hasn’t gone over-budget on Transformers 3 , you can bet the megadirector was counting every recession-era cent for his customary Victoria’s Secret holiday commercial, too. The new ad features some of the brand’s most hallowed models prancing around some the very Chicago locations Bay blew to hell this summer, with the occasional horse and/or opera house tossed in for variety. Read on for the mildly NSFW spot (and the making-of video, with images of the man at work).

Kanye West Tops Billboard Chart With My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

Nicki Minaj a strong #2 with her debut, Pink Friday. By Gil Kaufman Kanye West Photo: Ben Hider/Getty Images It’s an understatement to say that Kanye West is on a roll. As predicted, ‘Ye’s fifth album, the hotly anticipated My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy , will easily top the Billboard 200 albums chart next week, after selling a robust 496,000 copies, giving the Chicago MC his fourth #1 debut in a row. Just behind him at #2 is the debut from Young Money First Lady Nicki Minaj , who moved 375,000 copies of her Pink Friday . The pair of rap superstars lead a parade of new faces in the top 10 during the biggest week of new album releases of the year, which helped propel the top 11 discs past the six-figure mark. After nearly two years of mixtapes and guest spots on other artists’ songs for Minaj and months of leaking tracks by West, the two friendly rivals prove that the traditional way of setting up albums may officially be a thing of the past. In fact, Minaj’s total is one of the highest ever for a female MC’s debut, falling just short of the 423,000 copies former Fugees singer Lauryn Hill scored in 1998 with her smash The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. Justin Bieber ‘s Walmart-exclusive acoustic disc, My Worlds Acoustic, comes in at #7 on sales of 115,000, with My Chemical Romance just behind at #8 (112,000) with Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. Also breaking into the top 10 is Ne-Yo , whose Libra Scale hit #9, as the in-demand singer/songwriter sold just a shade under MCR. The rest of the top 10 features Susan Boyle at #3 with The Gift (263,000), Taylor Swift ‘s Speak Now, which moves up five spots to #4 as sales picked up by 64 percent after five weeks in stores to 241,000, putting her within spitting distance of 2 million albums sold. Jackie Evancho ‘s O Holy Night EP falls a few spots to #5 (142,000), while Rihanna slips three to #6 with her latest, Loud (141,000), and the cast of “Glee” round out the top 10 with their first Christmas collection (108,000). Kid Rock ‘s time in the top 10 was brief, as his classic-rock-influenced Born Free falls six spots to #11 in week two on sales of 104,000, mirroring the tumble by popera singer Josh Groban , who slips eight slots to #12 in the second week for his latest, Illuminations (99,000). Despite a digital hit with “We R Who We R,” Ke$ha ‘s second album of 2010, Cannibal, has a modest debut, landing at #15 (74,000), even as fellow pop provocateur Katy Perry ‘s Teenage Dream shoots up 18 slots to #16 (72,000) as sales increased by nearly 180 percent from the previous week. The soundtrack to the Christina Aguilera/Cher movie “Burlesque” matches the so-so box-office returns of that hoofing drama, with a soft debut at #18 (63,000), and G-Unit rapper Lloyd Banks has to settle for a #26 bow (44,000) for his H.F.M.2 (Hunger for More 2). It was also not stellar news for a pair of greatest-hits collections, as Pink ‘s Greatest Hits So Far! drops 14 spots to #29 in its second week (41,000), and Jay-Z ‘s Hits Collection sneaks into the top 50 at #43 (28,000) in its chart debut. Things are also looking grim for season-nine “American Idol” winner Lee DeWyze after his major-label debut, Live It Up, craters in its second week, nose-diving 74 slots to #93 as sales trailed off by 63 percent. DeWyze scored the worst-selling debut figures ever by an “Idol” winner last week. Over on the iTunes albums chart, it was mostly the same story, as Kanye took the #1 spot, followed by Nicki, the “Burlesque” soundtrack, the “Glee” Christmas album, Ke$ha, Rihanna, MCR, Swift, Mumford & Sons’ Sigh No More and Kings of Leon’s Come Around Sundown. Perry still ruled on the iTunes single tally with her latest single, “Firework,” with Pink’s “Raise Your Glass” just behind, Ke$ha holding at #3 with “We R” and the Black Eyed Peas hitting #4 with “The Time (Dirty Bit).” iTunes doesn’t provide detailed sales results, but Rihanna was probably happy with locking down #5 with “What’s My Name?” and #7 with “Only Girl (in the World),” with Bruno Mars slipping in at #6 with “Grenade.” Rounding out the top 10 was Mars again at #8 with “Just the Way You Are,” Far East Movement with “Like a G6” and Trey Songz with “Bottoms Up.” The battle for the top will start all over again next week with the arrival of the Black Eyed Peas ‘ The Beginning , as well as new albums from Chrisette Michele , Jazmine Sullivan , Tim McGraw and Flo Rida , as well as yet another “Glee” cast disc.
